In order to secure the massive heterogeneous medical data for the complex scenarios and improve the information sharing efficiency in healthcare system,a distributed medical data ledger model(DMDL)is proposed in this paper. This DMDL model has adopted the blockchain technology including the function decoupling, the distributed consensus, smart contract as well as multi-channel communication structure of consortium blockchain. The DMDL model not only has high adaptability, but also meets the requirements of the medical treatment processes which generally involve multientities, highly private information and secure transaction. The steps for processing the medical data are also introduced.Additionally, the methods for the definition and application of the DMDL model are presented for three specific medical scenarios,i.e.,the management of the heterogeneous data, copyright protection for medical data and the secure utilization of sensitive data. The advantage of the proposed DMDL model is demonstrated by comparing with the models which are being currently adopted in healthcare system. 展开更多

In this article it is investigated the case of a three-part ultimatum game, where the proposer makes repeated sharing suggestions to the responder and a"third".This"third"is the regulatory factor of recurring bids,at a rate-at each time of the immediately preceding. This article answers to question like"what share would the proposer be willing to give to the responder in the case of three taking part in the ultimatum game?"Which would be moral and which fair?At which point of distribution would it be accepted by the responder?A Chi Square(x^(2))test is used. For this reason, after investigating the social integration factors through the literature, two small surveys trying to identify the distribution rate are conducted. We conclude that a share 0.40 could be accepted by the responder and the"third". 展开更多

Geo-analysis models can be shared and reused via model-services to support more effective responses to risks and help to build a sustainable world. The deployment of model-services typically requires significant effort, primarily because of the complexity and disciplinary specifics of geo-analysis models.Various modelling participants engage in the collaborative modelling process:geo-analysis model resources are provided by model providers, computational resources are provided by computational resource providers, and the published model-services are accessed by model users. This paper primarily focuses on model-service deployment, with the basic goal of providing a collaboration-oriented method for modelling participants to conveniently work together and make full use of modelling and computational resources across an open web environment. For model resource providers,a model-deployment description method is studied to help build model-deployment packages;for computational resource providers,a computational resource description method is studied to help build model-service containers and connectors. An experimental system for sharing and reusing geo-analysis models is built to verify the capability and feasibility of the proposed methods.Through this strategy, modellers from dispersed regions can work together more easily, thus providing dynamic and reliable geospatial information for Future Earth studies. 展开更多

Dependence may arise in insurance when the insureds are clustered into groups e.g. joint-life annuities. This dependence may be produced by sharing a common risk acting on mortality of members of the group. Various dependence models have been considered in literature; however, the focus has been on either the lower-tail dependence alone or upper-tail dependence alone. This article implements the frailty dependence approach to life insurance problems where most applications have been within medical setting. Our strategy is to use the conditional independence assumption given an observed association measure in a positive stable frailty approach to account for both lower and upper-tail dependence. The model is calibrated on the association of Kenyan insurers 2010 male and female published rates. The positive stable model is then proposed to construct dependence life-tables and generate life annuity payment streams in the competitive Kenyan market. 展开更多

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is an effective non-parametric method for measuring the relative efficiencies of decision making units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and outputs. In many real situations, the internal structure of DMUs is a two-stage network process with shared inputs used in both stages and common outputs produced by the both stages. For example, hospitals have a two-stage network structure. Stage 1 consumes resources such as information technology system, plant, equipment and admin personnel to generate outputs such as medical records, laundry and housekeeping. Stage 2 consumes the same set of resources used by stage 1 (named shared inputs) and the outputs generated by stage 1 (named intermediate measures) to provide patient services. Besides, some of outputs, for instance, patient satisfaction degrees, are generated by the two individual stages together (named shared outputs). Since some of shared inputs and outputs are hard split up and allocated to each individual stage, it needs to develop two-stage DEA methods for evaluating the performance of two-stage network processes in such problems. This paper extends the centralized model to measure the DEA efficiency of the two-stage process with non split-table shared inputs and outputs. A weighted additive approach is used to combine the two individual stages. Moreover, additive efficiency decomposition models are developed to simultaneously evaluate the maximal and the minimal achievable efficiencies for the individual stages. Finally, an example of 17 city branches of China Construction Bank in Anhui Province is employed to illustrate the proposed approach. 展开更多

Geographical simulation is a popular method in geographical and environmental research. Many models developed to address geographic and environmental issues are distributed worldwide. However, due to the lack of portals, these models are still difficult to invoke for geographical simulations in open web environments. This study designs and develops a framework to assemble service-oriented models from volunteers distributed worldwide for geographical simulations on the web.The framework consists of three layers(task layer, data exchange layer, and model execution layer)that establish a network of serviceoriented locally shared models and simulation tasks for user configurations. With the help of such a framework, users can configure simulation tasks and invoke suitable models shared worldwide for geographical simulations. This article provides an application of the distributed simulation of gross primary production(GPP)by the Biome-BioGeochemical Cycles(BGC)model in China. This application shows that the framework can be beneficial for model assembly from volunteers’computers and distributed simulation tasks that are run for geographical and environmental issues, which can be applied to Digital Earth initiatives. 展开更多
