Taicang port (31°39’N, 121°12’E), located on the south bank of the Yangtze River in southeastern Jiangsu province, is adjacent to Shanghai city, 53 km from Shanghai business center and 46 km from Shanghai ... Taicang port (31°39’N, 121°12’E), located on the south bank of the Yangtze River in southeastern Jiangsu province, is adjacent to Shanghai city, 53 km from Shanghai business center and 46 km from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. With over 20 kmof deep-water front (water depth 】10 m) and only 100 km from the mouth of the Yangtze River, it is most favored for the development of ocean shipping. In ancient times, the port, known as Liujia port, was located on the mouth of the Liuhe, a smalltributary of the Yangtze River, east of the present port.
