Research on Strategies for Enhancing the Ability of Chinese German Learners to Tell Chinese Stories Through Short Videos

In the age of new media,short videos play an increasingly important role in international cultural exchange.However,German learners often encounter challenges when producing and sharing short videos due to factors such as technology and language proficiency.Such challenges can affect the professionalism and attractiveness of the videos.This study focuses on German learners at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.The aim of this study is to investigate students’experiences in producing short videos,identify issues through surveys and interviews,and concentrate on editing skills,language proficiency,and intercultural communication abilities.It proposes strategies for developing these skills and aims to provide insights for German and other foreign language learners in telling Chinese stories using short videos.

Application Progress of Teaching in the Form of Traffic Short Videos in Nursing Education

With the rapid development of the information technology era,the teaching quality requirements continue to surge,and the mode of education in colleges and universities has also carried out certain innovations.The integration of modern information technology into the teaching process and the combination of medical content has become a new hotspot for reform and innovation of medical education at home and abroad.In this paper,we will describe the application of traffic short videos as the main teaching form in nursing education in domestic and foreign studies,and the role of the application of this teaching form in the improvement of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills of nursing students,as well as the impact on the cultivation of nursing students’professional cognition,communication skills,critical thinking,etc.,with the aim of providing new perspectives for the subsequent nursing education.

The Research on the Communication of the Short Videos on Rural Cultural Tourism in China

Since the era of tourism gaze,in the process of shaping cultural tourism images,film and television works have influenced the landscape formation and cultural transmission of a place through the lens and the attention of the audiences.With the evolution of media and the development of technology,the short videos on rural cultural tourism in China in the digital era go beyond gazing but directly generate the landscape and culture of a place in the real-time multi-directional interaction.With the mobilization mode of dual sensory integration,the short videos on rural cultural tourism in China become geographic media attracting users to participate in emotional communication and tourism practice beyond the objective rational orientation.They attract users to integrate re-localization experiences in real world from the media localization image presentation,and trigger embodied practice from virtual sensory presence.By the ubiquitous interactive nature of digital media and reality,the short videos demonstrate the constructive and generative power of symbolic reality for reality.With the help of technology,the short videos spread local culture all over the world via pre-storing the physical tourism in the callable space and topological time.Through the free transduction of relational logical networks,the short videos make the transition from Plato’s cave,the mimicry environment into the real world,to awaken perception of Chinese solar terms from the time-less sequence,and construct tourism and culture,online,and offline.

Short Video Recommendation Algorithm Incorporating Temporal Contextual Information and User Context

With the popularity of 5G and the rapid development of mobile terminals,an endless stream of short video software exists.Browsing short-form mobile video in fragmented time has become the mainstream of user’s life.Hence,designing an efficient short video recommendation method has become important for major network platforms to attract users and satisfy their requirements.Nevertheless,the explosive growth of data leads to the low efficiency of the algorithm,which fails to distill users’points of interest on one hand effectively.On the other hand,integrating user preferences and the content of items urgently intensify the requirements for platform recommendation.In this paper,we propose a collaborative filtering algorithm,integrating time context information and user context,which pours attention into expanding and discovering user interest.In the first place,we introduce the temporal context information into the typical collaborative filtering algorithm,and leverage the popularity penalty function to weight the similarity between recommended short videos and the historical short videos.There remains one more point.We also introduce the user situation into the traditional collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm,considering the context information of users in the generation recommendation stage,and weight the recommended short-formvideos of candidates.At last,a diverse approach is used to generate a Top-K recommendation list for users.And through a case study,we illustrate the accuracy and diversity of the proposed method.

A Comparative Study on the Communication of“Friendly Shandong”Official Account on Different Short Video Platforms

Taking“Friendly Shandong”official account as an example,the relevant data of the account on the four platforms of Tiktok,Kwai,Bilibili and Little Red Book were comparatively analyzed to study the influence of short video on the communication of Shandong tourism image.The research mainly included two aspects:fan persona features and interactive effects.Through comparative study,it will provide a reference for the operation team of“Friendly Shandong”official account to spread the tourism image of Shandong with different platforms.

Evaluation of the Application Effect of Short Video Combined with BOPPPS Teaching Mode in Clinical Anesthesia Teaching

Objective:To study the application effect of short video combined with BOPPPS teaching mode in clinical anesthesia practice.Method:48 students assigned to clinical anesthesia in digestive endoscopy of Shanxi Bethune Hospital from July 1,2022 to April 1,2023 were selected as research objects.They were randomly divided into the control group(PowerPoint presentation teaching group)and the observation group(short video combined with BOPPPS teaching group),with 24 students in each group.After the internship,the students’theoretical and technical scores were tested,the effects of the two teaching modes were compared,and the students’satisfaction was investigated.Results:The test scores of students in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The short video combined with BOPPPS teaching mode can significantly improve students’learning interest,operation skills,and memory(P<0.05).The students’satisfaction in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:In clinical practice,the application of short video combined with BOPPPS teaching mode has achieved great effect,which is worth further promotion and research.

Between the City and Images:An Analysis of Mainstream Media’s Paths of Constructing the Cultural Memory of a City:Taking Chengdu Radio and Television’s“Hi Chengdu”as an Example

Mainstream media play a crucial role in constructing the cultural memory of a city.This study used 319 short videos released by“Hi Chengdu,”a new media product of Chengdu Radio and Television,as samples.Based on the grounded theory,a research framework encompassing“content,technology,and discourse”was established to explore the paths through which mainstream media construct the cultural memory.Regarding content,this paper emphasized temporal and spatial contexts and urban spaces,delving deep into the themes of the cultural memory and vehicles for it.In terms of technology,this paper discussed the practice of leveraging audio/visual-mode discourse to stitch together the impressions of a city and evoke emotional resonance to create a“flow”of memory.As for discourse,this paper looked at the performance of a communication ritual to frame concepts and shape urban identity.It is essential to break free from conventional thinking and leverage local culture as the primary driving force to further boost a city’s productivity,in order to excel in cultural communication.

Application of New Media in International Chinese Education

As a novel teaching method,new media short videos have become one of the teaching methods of international Chinese education.By analyzing the advantages and feasibility of this teaching method,this paper demonstrates that teaching using short videos is a more suitable teaching method for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.At the same time,the material selection and problems in the process of using this method are also analyzed.

Resource assignment in short video accelerator system

Video accelerator is developed for better user experience in video sharing websites such as YouTube. PPLive video accelerator （PPVA）, which has the largest number of users in China, is based on peer-to-peer （P2P） system. The number of videos and peers in PPVA is by orders of magnitude many times larger than which in traditional P2P video on demand （VoD） system. As a result, even though the resource is sufficient, due to unfairness assignment, the quality of service can hardly satisfy all users. In this paper, we concentrate on the assignment of the fundamental resources in PPVA： storage and bandwidth. The problem of storage assignment is formulated as a nonlinear program （NLP） regarding the number of request as a random variable. The results show that the influence of the variance of requests is not negligible and proportional approach is appropriate only when the mean is much larger than the variance. The criteria about how to locate videos to appropriate peers are also presented, taking into account constrains such as the utilization of total bandwidth, the probability of bandwidth competition and the fairness between videos. Furthermore, the heuristic algorithms of allocating upload bandwidth in centralized and distributed fashion are proposed and evaluated against a widely used strategy （equal allocation） with respect to the balance among videos. Simulation results demonstrate that both algorithms can lead to significant performance improvement.
