Fused ternary CaF_(2)–SiO_(2)–MnO fluxes have been manufactured and applied to join EH36 shipbuilding steel under high heat input submerged arc welding.Five fluxes have been designed to clarify the effect of MnO con...Fused ternary CaF_(2)–SiO_(2)–MnO fluxes have been manufactured and applied to join EH36 shipbuilding steel under high heat input submerged arc welding.Five fluxes have been designed to clarify the effect of MnO content in CaF_(2)–SiO_(2)–MnO flux on the impact toughness of the weld metal,with the added amount of MnO from 10 to 50 wt.%at the expense of CaF_(2).With the increase in MnO content,the Charpy impact energy increases first and then decreases,experiencing a maximum value at 30 wt.%MnO.Microstructure of the weld metals has also been studied to account for impact toughness variations.It has been demonstrated that the highest acicular ferrite volume fraction in the weld metal is achieved at 30 wt.%MnO,which is concurrent to the maximum value of Charpy impact energy.It is believed that the Mn and O content variations in the weld metal contribute synergistically to such an interesting phenomenon.展开更多
The dense ZnO-Bi_(2)O_(3)-MnO_(2)(ZBMS)varistors for x=0,1,2,3 wt% were fabricated by flash sintering method under the low temperature of 850℃ within 2 min.The sample temperature was estimated by a black body radiati...The dense ZnO-Bi_(2)O_(3)-MnO_(2)(ZBMS)varistors for x=0,1,2,3 wt% were fabricated by flash sintering method under the low temperature of 850℃ within 2 min.The sample temperature was estimated by a black body radiation model in the flash sintering process.The crystalline phase assemblage,density,microstructure,and electrical characteristics of the flash-sintered ZBMS varistors with different SiO_(2)-doped content were investigated.According to the XRD analysis,many secondary phases were detected due to the SiO_(2) doping.Meanwhile,the average grain size decrease with increasing SiO_(2)-doped content.The improved nonlinear characteristics were obtained in SiO_(2)-doped samples,which can be attributed to the ion migration and oxygen absorption induced by the doped SiO_(2).The flash-sintered ZBMS varistor ceramics for x=2 wt% exhibited excellent comprehensive electrical properties,with the nonlinear coefficient of 24.5,the threshold voltage and leakage current of 385 V·mm^(-1 )and 11.8μA,respectively.展开更多
The effects of Yb2O3 particles on the microstructure and transport properties of YBa2Cu3O7-δ(YBCO) were investigated through resistance-temperature(R-T),scanning electron microscope(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and th...The effects of Yb2O3 particles on the microstructure and transport properties of YBa2Cu3O7-δ(YBCO) were investigated through resistance-temperature(R-T),scanning electron microscope(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and the critical current density(Jc) versus applied magnetic field(Jc-B) measurements.YBCO powder with Yb2O3 additives was synthesized using standard solid state reaction technique.Rietveld refinements of X-ray diffraction showed that both Yb2O3 and YBCO phases coexisted in the products.The critical current density(Jc) exhibited a maximum at x=0.05 in YBCO+xYb2O3 systems.Moreover,small additions of Yb2O3 in YBCO could enhance Jc by applying the magnetic field,although the superconducting temperature(Tc) decreased monotonically with increasing additive content.The characteristic behavior of Jc might come from the counterbalance of two effects simultaneously,which was caused by the inhomogeneity of grains distribution in nano-scale and degradation on superconducting properties.展开更多
