Based on the asymptotic spectral distribution of Wigner matrices, a new normality test method is proposed via reforming the white noise sequence. In this work, the asymptotic cumulative distribution function (CDF) of eigenvalues of the Wigner matrix is deduced. A numerical Kullback-Leibler divergence of the empiric-d spectral CDF based on test samples from the deduced asymptotic CDF is established, which is treated as the test statistic. For validating the superiority of our proposed normality test, we apply the method to weak SIPSK signal detection in the single-input single-output (SISO) system and the single-input multiple-output (SIMO) system. By comparing with other common normality tests and the existing signal detection methods, simulation results show that the proposed method is superior and robust. 展开更多

The pattern run-length coding test data compression approach is extended by introducing don't care bit(x) propagation strategy into it.More than one core test sets for testing core-based System-on-Chip(SoC) are unified into a single one,which is compressed by the extended coding technique.A reconfigurable scan test application mechanism is presented,in which test data for multiple cores are scanned and captured jointly to make SoC test application more efficient with low hardware overhead added.The proposed union test technique is applied to an academic SoC embedded by six large ISCAS'89 benchmarks,and to an ITC' 02 benchmark circuit.Experiment results show that compared with the existing schemes in which a core test set is compressed and applied independently of other cores,the proposed scheme can not only improve test data compression/decompression,but also reduce the redundant shift and capture cycles during scan testing,decreasing SoC test application time effectively. 展开更多

In this paper our studies about the sequential testing program for predicting and identificating carcinogens, sequential discriminant method and cost- effectiveness analysis are summarized. The analysis of our database of carcinogeniclty and genotoxicity of chemicals demonstrates the uncertainty . of short- term tests ( STTs ) to predict carcinogens and the results of most routine STTs are statistically dependent. We recommend the sequential testing program combining STTs and carclnogenicity assay, the optimal STT batteries, the rules of the sequential discrimination and the preferal choices of STTs tor specific chemical class. For illustrative pmposes the carclnogenicity prediction of several sample chamicals is presented. The results of cost-effectiveness analysis suggest that this program has vast social-economic effectiveness. 展开更多

The wireless communication system's performance is greatly constrained by the wireless channel characteristics,especially in some specific environment.Therefore,signal transmission will be greatly impacted even if not in a complicated topography.Testing results show that it is hardly to characterize the radio propagation properties for the antenna installed on the ground.In order to ensure a successful communication,the radio frequency(RF)wireless signal intensity monitor system was designed.We can get the wireless link transmission loss through measuring signal strength from received node.The test shows that the near-ground wireless signal propagation characteristics still can be characterized by the log distance propagation loss model.These results will conduce to studying the transmission characteristic of Near-Earth wireless signals and will predict the coverage of the earth's surface wireless sensor network. 展开更多

Synchrophasor measurement units(PMUs)provide synchronized measurement data for wide-area applications.To improve the effectiveness of synchrophasor-based applications,field PMUs must be tested to ensure their performance and data quality.In the companion paper(Part I),we proposed a field PMU test and calibration framework consisting of a PMU calibrator and analysis center.Part I presents the development and test of the PMU calibrator.This paper focuses on the analysis center and field test applications.First,the critical component of the analysis center is the signal identification module,for which the step and oscillation signal identification methods are proposed.Here,the performance evaluation criteria of PMU in these two cases are different from others.The methods include a step signal detection method based on singular value decomposition(SVD),which has the capability of weak step detection to account for energy leakage of the signal during the step process,and an oscillation signal identification method based on SVD and fast Fourier transform,which can accurately extract oscillation components that benefit from the adaptive threshold setting method.Second,the analysis center software is implemented based on identification results.By integrating the PMU calibrator in Part I with the analysis center in Part II,we can examine in depth the field PMU test applications in three test scenarios,including standard,playback,and field signal test.Results demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed field PMU test methods from both Parts I and II. 展开更多

The Object Relation Diagram as the object model is employed to describe the object structure of a Web application design and can be translated into the behavior model. A key problem of model checking-based test generation for a Web application is how to construct a set of trap properties that intend to cause the violations of model checking against the behavior model and output of counterexamples used to construct the test sequences. Offshore drilling has attracted more attention than ever before due to the increasing worldwide energy demand especially in China. High cost, long drilling cycles, and low rate of penetration (ROP) represent critical challenges for offshore drilling operations. The hydraulic pulse generator was specifically designed, based on China offshore drilling technologies and parameters, to overcome problems encountered during offshore drilling. Both laboratory and field tests were conducted to collect the characteristics of the hydraulic pulse generator. The relationships between flow rate and pressure amplitude, pressure loss and pulse frequency were obtained, which can be used to optimize operation parameters for hydraulic pulse jet drilling. Meanwhile a bottom hole assembly (BHA) for pulse jet drilling has been designed, combining the hydraulic pulse generator with the conventional BHA, positive displacement motor, and rotary steerable system (RSS) etc. Furthermore, the hydraulic pulse jet technique has been successfully applied in more than 10 offshore wells in China. The depth of the applied wells ranged from 2,000 m to 4,100 m with drilling bit diameters of 311 mm and 216 mm. The field application results showed that hydraulic pulse jet technique was feasible for various bit types and formations, and that ROP could be significantly increased, by more than 25%. 展开更多

Vehicle turning movement data from signalized intersections is utilized for numerous applications in the field of transportation. Such applications include real-time adaptive signal control, dynamic traffic assignment, and traffic demand estimation. However, it is very time consuming and costly to obtain vehicle turning movement information manually. Previous efforts to simplify this process were focused on solving the problem using an O-D matrix, but this method proved to be inaccurate and unreliable with the existing data acquisition system. Another study involved the identification of vehicle turning movements from the detector information, but the presence of shared lanes led to uncertainties in vehicle matching, thus limiting application of the method only to intersections without shared lanes. In light of those unsuccessful attempts, this paper develops and tests a system called the Automatic Turning Movement Identification System (ATMIS), which estimates vehicle turning movements at a signalized intersection in real time, regardless of its geometry. The results from lab experiments as well as a field test show that the algorithm is very promising and may potentially be expanded for field applications. 展开更多

The adaptive signal conditioning technology is characterized by high efficiency,precision and integration. VOT has the advantages of real-time, noninvasive and continuous, and is widely used to evaluate the functional status of peripheral microcirculation and the relationship between microcirculation changes and prognosis of patients. In clinical work, doctors mainly focus on hemodynamics of patients, while microcirculation function is often neglected due to the lack of real-time monitoring methods, which may lead to severe poor prognosis of patients, especially patients with critical illness. Thus, design-for-testability is needed to reduce the test effort. In order to enhance the quality, productivity and reduced cost of the software organizations are promoting to produce the reuse-oriented products. Incorporating reuse technology in both aspects-software development process and test process may payoff many folds. Keeping this view, our study focus the testability of the object-oriented framework based software systems and identify that flexibility at the variable points of the object-oriented framework, chosen for framework instantiation, greatly affects the testability of object-oriented framework based software at each level of testing. In the current paper, we propose a testability model considering the flexible aspect of the variable point to estimate testability in the early phase, requirement analysis phase, of development process of the framework based software.
