The third order explicit autonomous differential equations named as jerk equations represent an interesting subclass of dynamical systems that can exhibit many major features of the regular and chaotic motion. In this paper, we show that an algebraically simple system, the Genesio system can be recast into a jerky dynamics and its jerk equation can be derived from one-dimensional Newtonian equation. We also investigate the global dynamical properties of the corresponding jerk system. 展开更多

The problem of the size of... The energy emitted by an electron in course of its transition between two quantum levels can be considered as a dissipated energy. This energy is obtained within a definite interval of time. The problem of the size of the time interval necessary for transitions is examined both on the ground of the quantum approach as well as classical electrodynamics. It is found that in fact the emission time approaches the time interval connected with acceleration of a classical velocity of the electron particle from one of its quantum levels to a neighbouring one. 展开更多

We investigate the Casimir effect in the context of a nontrivial topology by means of a generalized Matsubara formalism. This is performed in the context of a scalar field in D Euclidean spatial dimensions with d compactified dimensions. The procedure gives us the advantage of considering simultaneously spatial constraints and thermal effects. In this sense, the Casimir pressure in a heated system between two infinite planes is obtained and the results are compared with those found in the literature. 展开更多
