For the purpose, Procrustes rotation minimizes the discrepancy between the target and rotated loadings using two types of approximation: 1) approximate the zeros in the target by the non-zeros in the loadings, and 2) approximate the non-zeros in the target by the non-zeros in the loadings. The central issue of Procrustes rotation considered in the article is that it equally treats the two types of approximation, while the former is more important for simplifying the loading matrix. Furthermore, a well-known issue of Simplimax is the computational inefficiency in estimating the sparse target matrix, which yields a considerable number of local minima. The research proposes a new rotation procedure that consists of the following two stages. The first stage estimates sparse target matrix with lesser computational cost by regularization technique. In the second stage, a loading matrix is rotated to the target, emphasizing on the approximation of non-zeros to zeros in the target by least squares criterion with generalized weighing that is newly proposed by the study. The simulation study and real data examples revealed that the proposed method surely simplifies loading matrices.展开更多

This approach primarily relies on a multi-control single-target quantum phase gate. The scheme offers operational simplicity, requiring only a single step, while ensuring verifiability through the measurement of a single qubit phase information to obtain the voting results. It provides voter anonymity, as the voting outcome is solely tied to the total number of affirmative votes. Our quantum voting machine also has scalability in terms of the number of voters.Additionally, the physical realization of the quantum voting machine is general and not limited to circuit quantum electrodynamics. Quantum voting machine can be implemented as long as the multi-control single-phase quantum phase gate is realized in other physical systems. I analyze the axiology of recentivism in two categories: recens (i.e., "now") and pure-mindedness. Also, I differentiate among pure-mindedness, which is a quality of homo euthyphronicus (i.e., pure-minded man), simplicity, which is a quality of homo simplex (i.e., simple man), and complexity, which is a quality of homo technicus (i.e., technical man). Moreover, I present different meanings of pure-mindedness which form the basis for reflection in the axiology of recentivism, i.e., the ethics of pure-mindedness, euthyphronics, and esthetics. Then, I use these meanings of pure-mindedness to define the attitude of homo euthyphronicus. Homo euthyphronicus is a man who seeks balance between simplicity and complexity in the modem world, which is highly complex and full of civilization-related threats, while stressing the importance of axioiogical values.展开更多
We have studied spin-dependent thermoelectric transport through parallel triple quantum dots with Rashba spinorbital interaction(RSOI) embedded in an Aharonov-Bohm interferometer connected symmetrically to leads usi...We have studied spin-dependent thermoelectric transport through parallel triple quantum dots with Rashba spinorbital interaction(RSOI) embedded in an Aharonov-Bohm interferometer connected symmetrically to leads using nonequilibrium Green's function method in the linear response regime.Under the appropriate configuration of magnetic flux phase and RSOI phase,the spin figure of merit can be enhanced and is even larger than the charge figure of merit.In particular,the charge and spin thermopowers as functions of both the magnetic flux phase and the RSOI phase present quadruple-peak structures in the contour graphs.For some specific configuration of the two phases,the device can provide a mechanism that converts heat into a spin voltage when the charge thermopower vanishes while the spin thermopower is not zero,which is useful in realizing the thermal spin battery and inducing a pure spin current in the device.展开更多

Recently,a superradiant phase transition first predicted theoretically in the quantum Rabi model(QRM)has been verified experimentally.This further stimulates the interest in the study of the process of phase transitio...Recently,a superradiant phase transition first predicted theoretically in the quantum Rabi model(QRM)has been verified experimentally.This further stimulates the interest in the study of the process of phase transition and the nature of the superradiant phase since the fundamental role of the QRM in describing the interaction of light and matter,and more importantly,the QRM contains rich physics deserving further exploration despite its simplicity.Here we propose a scheme consisting of two successive diagonalizations to accurately obtain the ground-state and excited states wavefunctions of the QRM in full parameter regime ranging from weak to deepstrong couplings.Thus,one is able to see how the phase transition occurs and how the photons populate in Fock space of the superradiant phase.We characterize the photon populations by borrowing the distribution concept in random matrix theory and find that the photon population follows a Poissonian-like distribution once the phase transition takes place and further exhibits the statistics of Gaussian unitary ensemble with increasing coupling strength.More interestingly,the photons in the excited states behave even like the statistics of Gaussian orthogonal ensemble.Our results not only deepen understanding on the superradiant phase transition but also provide an insight on the nature of the superradiant phase of the QRM and related models.展开更多

文摘Recently,a superradiant phase transition first predicted theoretically in the quantum Rabi model(QRM)has been verified experimentally.This further stimulates the interest in the study of the process of phase transition and the nature of the superradiant phase since the fundamental role of the QRM in describing the interaction of light and matter,and more importantly,the QRM contains rich physics deserving further exploration despite its simplicity.Here we propose a scheme consisting of two successive diagonalizations to accurately obtain the ground-state and excited states wavefunctions of the QRM in full parameter regime ranging from weak to deepstrong couplings.Thus,one is able to see how the phase transition occurs and how the photons populate in Fock space of the superradiant phase.We characterize the photon populations by borrowing the distribution concept in random matrix theory and find that the photon population follows a Poissonian-like distribution once the phase transition takes place and further exhibits the statistics of Gaussian unitary ensemble with increasing coupling strength.More interestingly,the photons in the excited states behave even like the statistics of Gaussian orthogonal ensemble.Our results not only deepen understanding on the superradiant phase transition but also provide an insight on the nature of the superradiant phase of the QRM and related models.
