Purpose–The intelligent Central Traffic Control(CTC)system plays a vital role in establishing an intelligent high-speed railway(HSR)system.As the core of HSR transportation command,the intelligent CTC system is a new...Purpose–The intelligent Central Traffic Control(CTC)system plays a vital role in establishing an intelligent high-speed railway(HSR)system.As the core of HSR transportation command,the intelligent CTC system is a new HSR dispatching command system that integrates the widely used CTC in China with the practical service requirements of intelligent dispatching.This paper aims to propose key technologies and applications for intelligent dispatching command in HSR in China.Design/methodology/approach–This paper first briefly introduces the functions and configuration of the intelligent CTC system.Some new servers,terminals and interfaces are introduced,which are plan adjustment server/terminal,interface for automatic train operation(ATO),interface for Dynamic Monitoring System of Train Control Equipment(DMS),interface for Power Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition(PSCADA),interface for Disaster Monitoring,etc.Findings–The key technologies applied in the intelligent CTC system include automatic adjustment of train operation plans,safety control of train routes and commands,traffic information data platform,integrated simulation of traffic dispatching and ATO function.These technologies have been applied in the Beijing-Zhangjiakou HSR,which commenced operations at the end of 2019.Implementing these key intelligent functions has improved the train dispatching command capacity,ensured the safe operation of intelligent HSR,reduced the labor intensity of dispatching operators and enhanced the intelligence level of China’s dispatching system.Originality/value–This paper provides further challenges and research directions for the intelligent dispatching command of HSR.To achieve the objectives,new measures need to be conducted,including the development of advanced technologies for intelligent dispatching command,coping with new requirements with the development of China’s railway signaling system,the integration of traffic dispatching and train control and the application of AI and data-driven modeling and methods.展开更多

One reason is high voltage power supplies cannot meet the requirement for ER effect. In this paper, an ER control high voltage power supply for engineering application was designed which reduced power wastage by adopting soft switch technology; lessened its volume to satisfy micromation when adopting the planar transformer and improved its response character- istic by choosing an assistant discharging circuit. Simultaneously, a simulation analysis has been carried out. As results, the output voltage of this high voltage power supply is 5 kV, and the voltage can be continuously regulated and the voltage ripple is only 0. 7 %, so the requirement of stability is also achieved.展开更多

The aim of the paper is to build a realistic simulation environment for healthcare system including some of the main vital signs model, wireless sensor and mesh network protocols implementation. The simulator environment is an efficient mean to analyze and evaluate in a realistic scenario the healthcare system performance in terms of reliability and efficiency.展开更多
This paper provides an extension to the earlier work wherein a comparison between different models that had studied the effects of several parameters scaling on the performance of carbon nano tube field-effect transis...This paper provides an extension to the earlier work wherein a comparison between different models that had studied the effects of several parameters scaling on the performance of carbon nano tube field-effect transistors was presented. The evaluation for the studied models, with regard to the scaling effects, was to determine those which best reflect the very essence of carbon nano-tube technologies. Whereas the models subject this comparison (Fettoy, Roy, Stanford, and Southampton) were affected to varying degrees due to such parametric variations, the Stanford model was shown as still being valid for a wide range of chiralities and diameter sizes; a model that is also applicable for circuit simulations. In this paper, we present a comparative assessment of the various models subject to the study with regard to the effect of incorporating multiple carbon nanotubes in the channel region. We also assess the effect of oxide thickness on transistor performance in terms of the supply voltage threshold effects. Results leveraging our findings in this ongoing research endeavor reveal that many research efforts were not efficient to high degree due to high delay and not valid for circuit simulations.展开更多
After some tragic fire events,Directive 2004/54/EC was issued to ensure a minimum safety level for tunnels belonging to the Trans-European Road Network longer than 500 m.Nowadays,most of the Italian road tunnels are s...After some tragic fire events,Directive 2004/54/EC was issued to ensure a minimum safety level for tunnels belonging to the Trans-European Road Network longer than 500 m.Nowadays,most of the Italian road tunnels are still not in compliance with the minimum safety requirements,thus refurbishment works are often planned.By developing a traffic macro-simulation model,this paper aims at assessing the resilience of an existing twin-tube motorway tunnel when one of its tubes is partially or completely closed due to planned activities.Several scenarios were investigated,also considering the availability or not of an alternative itinerary in the surrounding transportation network.The average vehicles’speed was used as a functionality parameter,while the resilience metrics were the resilience loss,the recovery speed,and the resilience index.The findings showed higher resilience losses for complete closure rather than partial closure of the tube under planned refurbishment works.The implementation of digital technologies,such as variable message signs,might reduce the resilience loss of the tunnel system.This research might represent a reference for tunnel management agencies in the choice of the most appropriate traffic control strategy to improve tunnel resilience in the event of planned activities.展开更多
