We find that, during the oxidation process, the sample develops into another SMM with a smaller anisotropy energy barrier and a stronger antiferromagnetic intermolecular exchange interaction. The antiferromagnetic transition temperature observed at 6.65 K in the new SMM is record-high for the antiferromagnetic phase transition in all the known SMMs. Compared to the original SMM, the only apparent change for the new SMM is that each molecule has lost three methyl groups as revealed by four-circle x-ray diffraction (XRD), which is thought to be the origin of the stronger antiferromagnetic intermolecular exchange interaction.展开更多

It is found that even though in parallel configuration of leads’ magnetizations, the total current still greatly depends on the spin polarization of leads at certain particular bias region, and thus for large polarization a prominent negative differential conductance (NDC) emerges. This originates from the joint effect of single-direction transitions and spin polarization, which removes the symmetry between spin-up and spin-down transitions. The present mechanism of NDC is remarkably different from the previously reported mechanisms. To clarify the physics of the NDC, we further monitored the shot noise spectroscopy and found that the appearance of the NDC is accompanied by the rapid decrease of Fano factor.展开更多

The concurrence, tangle, and measure function Q, which characterize the pairwise entanglement, 3-party entanglement and total entanglement, respectively, are calculated numerically at zero temperature. Finally, the phase diagram of the global entanglement characterized by the critical magnetic fields is presented.展开更多

The as-grown films show high resistivity and non-ferromagnetism at room temperature, while they become more conductive and ferromagnetic after annealing in the reducing atmosphere either in the presence or absence of Zn vapour. The x-ray absorption studies indicate that all Co ions in these samples actually substituted into the ZnO lattice without formatting any detectable secondary phase. Compared with weak ferromagnetism (0.16 μB/Co2+) in the Zno.95 Co0.05 O single crystalline film with reducing annealing in the absence of Zn vapour, the films annealed in the reducing atmosphere with Zn vapour are found to have much stronger ferromagnetism (0.65 μB/Co2+) at room temperature. This experimental studies clearly indicate that Zn interstitials are more effective than oxygen vacancies to activate the high-temperature ferromagnetism in Co-doped ZnO films, and the corresponding ferromagnetic mechanism is discussed.展开更多

It is demonstrated that the SMM's magnetization can change periodically with periodic gate voltage due to the driving oI the temperature gradient. Under an appropriate matching of the electrode polarization, the temperature difference and the pulse width of gate voltage, the SMM's magnetization can be completely reversed in a period of gate voltage. The criterion for bandgap opening at the Dirac point is analytically derived with a two-fold degeneracy second-order perturbation method. It is shown that a direct or an indirect bandgap semiconductor could be realized in a single-layer graphene under some specific configurations of the electric and magnetic field arrangement. Due to the bandgap generated in the single-layer graphene, the Klein tunneling observed in pristine graphene is completely suppressed.展开更多

The evolutions of the magnetic domain morphology are studied, and our analyses show that the magnetization reversal process is affected by the interaction between the moving domain wall and the existing nonmagnetic particles. This interaction strongly depends on the size of the particles, and it is found that particles with a particular size contribute the most to magnetic hardening.展开更多

In this work, we study the phonon-assisted spin current in N- SMM-N systems. We mainly focus on the interplay of SMM's bistable character and electron-phonon coupling. It is found that when SMM is trapped in one of the lowest bistable states, it can generate phonon-assisted spin- polarized currents. At the up-spin transport channel, it is accompanied by a phonon-assisted up-spin current, while at the down-spin transport channel, it is accompanied by a phonon-assisted down-spin current.展开更多

文摘The energy band structure of single-layer graphene under one-dimensional electric and magnetic field modulation is theoretically investigated. Due to the bandgap generated in the single-layer graphene, the Klein tunneling observed in pristine graphene is completely suppressed.
文摘The magnetization reversal process and hysteresis loops in a single crystal α-iron with nonmagnetic particles are simulated in this work based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. The evolutions of the magnetic domain morphology are studied, and our analyses show that the magnetization reversal process is affected by the interaction between the moving domain wall and the existing nonmagnetic particles. This interaction strongly depends on the size of the particles, and it is found that particles with a particular size contribute the most to magnetic hardening.

文摘Owing to the bistable character of the single molecular magnet (SMM), it can generate 100% spin-polarized currents even connected with normal (N) leads. At the up-spin transport channel, it is accompanied by a phonon-assisted up-spin current, while at the down-spin transport channel, it is accompanied by a phonon-assisted down-spin current.
