The present study is a contribution to the study of hybrid electric power conversion systems in rural areas.The approach adopted uses a methodology for analyzing the complementarity that exists between the two renewab...The present study is a contribution to the study of hybrid electric power conversion systems in rural areas.The approach adopted uses a methodology for analyzing the complementarity that exists between the two renewable energy potentials(solar and hydraulic)based on their daily,monthly and annual variations.The different analytical formulas for sizing a PV(photovoltaic)field and a small hydroelectric power station are recalled in this work.The HOMER software served as a tool for optimal sizing and simulation of the system.This work focuses on the analysis of the behavior and control of the performances of a hybrid system made up of two renewable energy sources,hydroelectricity/PV with a storage system and a converter.The main results obtained relate to:monitoring of the variation in temperature variation,solar irradiation of the site,as well as the flow of the watercourse.The profile of the village’s annual charges is known.The annual production of electrical energy is 527.936 kWh/year.The hydroelectric plant will provide 155.316 kWh/year,or 29%,and for the PV field(372.620 kWh/year),or 71%.The monthly energy average is 43.995 kWh/month.The average daily consumption is 731 kWh/d with a maximum power of 163 kW.The completion of this project makes it possible to cover all electrical loads in the Tamagaly district,with an annual energy production of 206.783 kWh.This would make it possible to locally limit greenhouse gas emissions in the area.展开更多

Besides, the interfacial reinforcing mechanism was explored by analyzing the surface morphology of the carbon fibers, the wettability between the carbon fibers and the epoxy resin, and the chemical characteristics of the fiber surface. Moreover, the effect of sizing on heat and humidity resistance of interface was investigated by aging test. The results show that sizing improves IFSS of CF800/epoxy resin monofilament composite by 59% through increasing the functional groups containing oxygen and through enhancing wettability, while after sizing the heat and humidity resistance of interface is decreased.展开更多

Conversion of monomer, grafting ratio and grafting efficiency were measured by the method of combining the chemical quantitative analysis with the weight. The adhesive power of the starch graft copolymers to polyester/cotton fiber was evaluated by measuring the breaking strength and elongation of the roving impregnated with the paste. The viscosity change of the size paste before and after grafting was studied. The mechanical properties of polyester/cotton fibre yarn sized by the graft starch were tested. Thompson' s α-parameterized family of restoring functions is adopted in the vessel equation of motion for the representation of bias. To take into account the presence of randomness in the excitation and the response, a stochastic Melnikov method is developed and a mean-square criterion is obtained to provide an upper bound on the domain of the potential chaotic rolling motion. This criterion can be used to predict the qualitative nature of the invariant manifolds which represent the boundary botween safe and unsafe initial conditions, and how these depend on system parameters of the specific ship model. Phase space transport theory and lobe dynamics are used to demonstrate how motions starting from initial conditions inside the regions bounded by the intersected manifolds will evolve and how unexpected capsizing can occur.展开更多

It was found that the dodecenylsuccinylation was able to reduce the surface tension of cooked starch paste and enhance the adhesion of starch to polyester fibers. It was also capable of depressing the brittleness of native starch and improving the mechanical behaviours such as breaking elongation and work-to-break of starch film. Initial increase in DS level of dodecenylsuccinylation enhanced these positive effects,while excessively increasing the level resulted in marked reduction in tensile strength of starch film and significant decrement in reaction efficiency. X-ray diffraction patterns of starch films showed the dodecenylsuccinates derivatized onto the backbones of starch depressed the degree of crystallinity of starch film. Based on the paste behaviors, adhesion, and film properties, the dodecenylsuccinylation level is recommended in a range of 0. 015-0. 025 for sizing polyester warps.展开更多

However, it remains a challenge to develop and implement the realistic supply chain cooperation scheme. We investigate a two-echelon supply chain planning problem with capacity acquisition decision under asymmetric cost and demand information. A simple negotiation-based coordination mechanism is developed to synchronize production/order strategies of a supplier and a buyer. The coordination scheme shows how the supplier and the buyer modify their production and order policy in order to find a joint economic lot sizing plan, which saves the overall supply chain cost. The allocation of the cooperation benefit is determined by negotiation. Due to the complexity of the multiple periods, multiple level supply chain lot sizing with capacity decision, a heuristic algorithm is developed to find coordination solutions. Finally, the results of the numerical study indicate the performance of supply chain coordination scheme.展开更多

This paper proposed a FEM model of hollow workpiece of CWR in the sizing process, and simulated the deformation condition using the ANSYS program. Three kinds of parts with different wall thickness were calculated. Some stress and strain fields of the deformed hollow parts at various conditions are gained. The influence of wall thickness on the distribution of stress and strain was analyzed. The paper also found two phenomena, which never have been seen at traditional experiment, and author tried to give some explanations. The ANSYS program provided the relationship between the tolerance of the deformed workpiece and the deforming parameter. It is helpful to design the sizing dies of a new precise forming process of hollow parts on the CWR. The new process that designed through the information of FEM improved the accuracy of hollow parts on CWR. It proved the validity and practicability of numerical simulation.展开更多

Waterborne epoxy resin could be employed with oxidized starch to improve paper stiffness through surface sizing. In this study,the mechanism of enhancing stiffness by adding waterborne epoxy resin was fully investigated. The results indicated that through surface sizing with epoxy resin,the paper thickness was preserved,whereas the elastic modulus increased significantly and the epoxy resin had positive impact on single fiber strength. A rigid resin layer and interpenetrating polymer network formed on the surface and in the inner layer of the paper,respectively. The formed resin layer and interpenetrating polymer network strongly supported the paper,leading to the improvement of the elastic modulus and stiffness. The stiffness improvement through surface sizing was mainly due to the formation of a fibrous composite layer and penetration of the sizing agent into the inner layers of the paper. The better the combination between fiber and sizing agent,the higher were the elastic modulus and the stiffness of the whole paper.展开更多

The objective of this analysis is to determine a ceiling for the rating of the converter interfacing the rotor of the wind driven double fed induction generator (DFIG) to the grid. Sizing the converter is an important issue in determining the economic viability of using the DFIM as a generator at synchronous and sub-synchronous speeds in wind energy conversion systems. The size of the converter is proved to be less than 10% of the rated power of the DFIG, which is 40% to 67% lower than that estimated in previous publications.展开更多

Reciproc...An overview of some popular rotary and reciprocating positive displacement( PD) pump types is given with the objective of presenting and comparing the respective sizing relationships and performance features. Reciprocating pumps discussed are the piston and plunger types. Rotary pumps addressed are gear( external and internal),vane,lobe,screw,and liquid ring pumps. To put the relative pump sizes in perspective,attention is fixed on the rotors or reciprocating elements of PD pumps,just as impellers indicate the sizes of rotodynamic pumps. The size of a PD pump is found from a dimensionless combination of displacement flow rate,rotative speed and diameter. The flow rate,head( or pressure rise) and power are related through the component efficiencies. The cavitation coefficient,often close to unity,connects the rotor tip speed or piston speed with the required NPSH,which can also be affected by the pressure rise of the pump due to leakage across the internal clearances. Operational effects due to cavitation,ingestion of gas or abrasives,and viscous and non-Newtonian fluids are discussed.展开更多

文摘The hollow parts formed with cross-wedge rolling (CWR) have a wide application in many fields, such as architecture and automobile, etc. But the finished configuration of part’s cross section was always ellipse and it was hard to make it satisfied with traditional forming process. This paper proposed a FEM model of hollow workpiece of CWR in the sizing process, and simulated the deformation condition using the ANSYS program. Three kinds of parts with different wall thickness were calculated. Some stress and strain fields of the deformed hollow parts at various conditions are gained. The influence of wall thickness on the distribution of stress and strain was analyzed. The paper also found two phenomena, which never have been seen at traditional experiment, and author tried to give some explanations. The ANSYS program provided the relationship between the tolerance of the deformed workpiece and the deforming parameter. It is helpful to design the sizing dies of a new precise forming process of hollow parts on the CWR. The new process that designed through the information of FEM improved the accuracy of hollow parts on CWR. It proved the validity and practicability of numerical simulation.

文摘Functions of the polyamines in neutral rosin sizing were investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and laser diffraction particle analysis. The polyamine with a higher charge density and a smaller unite size could retain more rosin and cover larger fiber surfaces. The XPS spectra demonstrated that polyallylamine (PAAm) and polyvinylamine (PVAm) could react with a rosin size to form a -OC-N-CO- structure, but polydimethylamino ethyl methacrylate (PDMAEMA) could not. The formation of this structure may be a key step for effective sizing.
文摘Renewable energy sources(RESs)are considered to be reliable and green electric power generation sources.Photovoltaics(PVs)and wind turbines(WTs)are used to provide electricity in remote areas.Optimal sizing of hybrid RESs is a vital challenge in a stand-alone environment.The meta-heuristic algorithms proposed in the past are dependent on algorithm-specific parameters for achieving an optimal solution.This paper proposes a hybrid algorithm of Jaya and a teaching–learning-based optimization(TLBO)named the JLBO algorithm for the optimal unit sizing of a PV–WT–battery hybrid system to satisfy the consumer’s load at minimal total annual cost(TAC).The reliability of the system is considered by a maximum allowable loss of power supply probability(LPSPmax)concept.The results obtained from the JLBO algorithm are compared with the original Jaya,TLBO,and genetic algorithms.The JLBO results show superior performance in terms of TAC,and the PV–WT–battery hybrid system is found to be the most economical scenario.This system provides a cost-effective solution for all proposed LPSPmax values as compared with PV–battery and WT–battery systems.

文摘Low-basis-weight paper lacks normal strength and stiffness. Waterborne epoxy resin could be employed with oxidized starch to improve paper stiffness through surface sizing. In this study,the mechanism of enhancing stiffness by adding waterborne epoxy resin was fully investigated. The results indicated that through surface sizing with epoxy resin,the paper thickness was preserved,whereas the elastic modulus increased significantly and the epoxy resin had positive impact on single fiber strength. A rigid resin layer and interpenetrating polymer network formed on the surface and in the inner layer of the paper,respectively. The formed resin layer and interpenetrating polymer network strongly supported the paper,leading to the improvement of the elastic modulus and stiffness. The stiffness improvement through surface sizing was mainly due to the formation of a fibrous composite layer and penetration of the sizing agent into the inner layers of the paper. The better the combination between fiber and sizing agent,the higher were the elastic modulus and the stiffness of the whole paper.
文摘In this paper, the operation of the Double Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) in the range from synchronous speed down to sub-synchronous speeds is analyzed using the power-flow approach. The objective of this analysis is to determine a ceiling for the rating of the converter interfacing the rotor of the wind driven double fed induction generator (DFIG) to the grid. Sizing the converter is an important issue in determining the economic viability of using the DFIM as a generator at synchronous and sub-synchronous speeds in wind energy conversion systems. The size of the converter is proved to be less than 10% of the rated power of the DFIG, which is 40% to 67% lower than that estimated in previous publications.

文摘Natural starch is an abundant and inexpensive polysaccharide biopolymer that is widely used as a surface-sizing agent in the paper industry.The surface sizing of paper improves its water and abrasion resistance,as well as its physical strength and printing adaptability.However,natural starch presents some disadvantages,such as high viscosity,poor fluidity,poor filmforming properties,and easy coagulation.Therefore,starch is usually modified and blended with various components to achieve better sizing performance.This article reviews approaches for the surface sizing of paper and modification of starch using enzymes or chemical methods,such as oxidation,cationization,and graft copolymerization.This article also discusses the application of starch-based multiphase systems(obtained by blending starch with various components)as surface-sizing agents.

文摘An overview of some popular rotary and reciprocating positive displacement( PD) pump types is given with the objective of presenting and comparing the respective sizing relationships and performance features. Reciprocating pumps discussed are the piston and plunger types. Rotary pumps addressed are gear( external and internal),vane,lobe,screw,and liquid ring pumps. To put the relative pump sizes in perspective,attention is fixed on the rotors or reciprocating elements of PD pumps,just as impellers indicate the sizes of rotodynamic pumps. The size of a PD pump is found from a dimensionless combination of displacement flow rate,rotative speed and diameter. The flow rate,head( or pressure rise) and power are related through the component efficiencies. The cavitation coefficient,often close to unity,connects the rotor tip speed or piston speed with the required NPSH,which can also be affected by the pressure rise of the pump due to leakage across the internal clearances. Operational effects due to cavitation,ingestion of gas or abrasives,and viscous and non-Newtonian fluids are discussed.

文摘Regarding the sizing surface zone as a quasi-plasticity one and using yielding criterion,a new drawing force calculating formula in which the sizing surface friction was taken into account is deducted.The calculated and experimental results show that for rod drawing and tube sinking,it is permissible to neglect the effect of the friction at the sizing surface,but for tube drawing with a stationary mandrel,especially for thin-wall tube drawing this friction should not be neglected.
