This work proposed a strategy of indirectly inducing uniform microarc discharge by controlling the content and distribution ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12)phase in AZ91D Mg alloy.Two kinds of nano-particles(ZrO_(2)and TiO_(2))wer...This work proposed a strategy of indirectly inducing uniform microarc discharge by controlling the content and distribution ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12)phase in AZ91D Mg alloy.Two kinds of nano-particles(ZrO_(2)and TiO_(2))were designed to be added into the substrate of Mg alloy by friction stir processing(FSP).Then,Mg alloy sample designed with different precipitated morphology ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12)phase was treated by microarc oxidation(MAO)in Na_(3)PO_(4)/Na2SiO3electrolyte.The characteristics and performance of the MAO coating was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS),X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),contact angle meter,and potentiodynamic polarization.It was found that the coarseα-Mg grains in extruded AZ91D Mg alloy were refined by FSP,and theβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12)phase with reticular structure was broken and dispersed.The nano-ZrO_(2)particles were pinned at the grain boundary by FSP,which refined theα-Mg grain and promoted the precipitation ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12)phase in grains.It effectively inhibited the“cascade”phenomenon of microarcs,which induced the uniform distribution of discharge pores.The MAO coating on Zr-FSP sample had good wettability and corrosion resistance.However,TiO_(2)particles were hardly detected in the coating on TiFSP sample.展开更多
Due to the significant differences in the formation temperature and crystal structure between the primaryα-Mg and eutecticβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12),it is a great challenge to achieve simultaneous refinement of the primary an...Due to the significant differences in the formation temperature and crystal structure between the primaryα-Mg and eutecticβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12),it is a great challenge to achieve simultaneous refinement of the primary and eutectic phases in Mg-Al based alloys via heterogeneous nucleation.Surprisingly,we found that theα-Mg andβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12) in the AZ80 alloy can be simultaneously refined after 0.2 wt.%Sm addition,with the grain size decreasing from∼217±15μm to∼170±10μm and theβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12) morphology changing from a typical continuous network to a nod-like or spherical structure.The simultaneous refinement mechanism is investigated through solidification simulation,transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and differential thermal analysis(DTA).In the AZ80-0.2Sm alloy,many Al8Mn4Sm particles can be observed near the center of theα-Mg grains or inside theβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12).Crystallographic calculations further reveal that the Al8Mn4Sm has good crystallographic matching with both theα-Mg andβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12),so it possesses the potency to serve as heterogeneous nucleation sites for both phases.The promoted heterogeneous nucleation on the Al8Mn4Sm decreases the undercooling required by the nucleation of the primary and eutectic phases,which enhances the heterogeneous nucleation rate,thus causing the simultaneous refinement of theα-Mg andβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12).The orientation relationships between the Al8Mn4Sm and Mg/Mg_(17)Al_(12) are identified,which are[1210]_(Mg)//[010]_(Al8Mn4Sm),(1010)_(Mg)//(301)_(Al8Mn4Sm) and[112]_(Mg_(17)Al_(12))//[010]_(Al8Mn4Sm),(110)_(Mg_(17)Al_(12))//(301)_(Al8Mn4Sm),respectively.Furthermore,the refinement of theβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12) accelerates its dissolution during the solution treatment,which is beneficial for cost saving in industrial applications.Other Al8Mn4RE compounds such as Al8Mn4Y might have the same positive effect on the simultaneous refinement due to the similar physicochemical properties of rare earth elements.This work not only proves the possibility of simultaneously refining the primary and eutectic phases in Mg-Al based alloys via heterogeneous nucleation,but also provides new insights into the development of refiners for cast Mg alloys.展开更多
This study investigates the effect of{10-12}deformation twins on the continuous precipitation behavior of an extruded Mg-8.0Al-0.5Zn-0.2Mn(AZ80)alloy during aging.The extruded AZ80 alloy is compressed along the transv...This study investigates the effect of{10-12}deformation twins on the continuous precipitation behavior of an extruded Mg-8.0Al-0.5Zn-0.2Mn(AZ80)alloy during aging.The extruded AZ80 alloy is compressed along the transverse direction to introduce{10-12}twins,followed by an aging treatment at 300℃.The extruded material exhibits a twin-free microstructure with low internal strain energy,whereas the pre-twinned material possesses abundant{10-12}twins and has high internal strain energy.The aging results reveal that the peak-aging time of the pre-twinned material(1 h)is one-eighth of that of the extruded material(8 h).Although Mg_(17)Al_(12)continuous precipitates(CPs)are observed in both the peak-aged materials,these CPs are much smaller and more densely distributed in the pre-twinned material despite the significantly shorter aging time.The CPs size in the peak-aged materials increases in the following order:twinned region in the pre-twinned material(0.47μm)<residual matrix region in the pre-twinned material(1.71μm)<matrix region in the extruded material(2.55μm).Moreover,the CPs number density in the twinned region of the pre-twinned material is approximately 11 times higher than that in the matrix region of the extruded material.The peak-aged pre-twinned material exhibits significantly higher tensile strength and ductility than the peak-aged extruded material.These results demonstrate that the formation of{10-12}twins in the extruded AZ80 alloy substantially accelerates the static precipitation of CPs during aging at 300℃and improves the tensile properties of the peak-aged material.展开更多

The results demo...The comparative experiments of age forming and artificial aging of 2A12 aluminum alloy were carried out. The effect of the age forming on the microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated. The results demonstrate that the grains are further squashed and elongated compared with artificial aging due to the existence of the applied stress during the age forming. Meanwhile, the precipitated phases change from circle shape with random orientation of age forming to long strip shape with uniform orientation of artificial aging. The dislocation configuration in samples changes from ring dislocation or helical dislocation of the artificial aging to long and straight dislocation of the age forming. Otherwise, age forming slightly reduces the tensile properties and fracture toughness of the alloy and enhances its fatigue crack growth rate.展开更多

The results indicate that a submicro- or nano-sized Al2 Nd phase is observed in the modified alloy with 0.3% Nd. The morphology of the α(Al) phase is significantly refined in the Nd-modified alloys. The primary Si morphology simultaneously changes into a fine, particle-like morphology, and the morphology of eutectic Si becomes fine-fibrous instead of coarse-acicular. Relatively few growth twins are observed on the surface of the Si plate in the Al-12Si-0.3Nd alloy at the optimal modification level. The mechanical property test results confirm that the mechanical properties of the as-cast Al-12 Si alloys are enhanced after the Nd addition, with optimal ultimate tensile strength(UTS) of 252 MPa and elongation(EL) of 13% at an Nd content of 0.3%. The improved mechanical properties are attributed to the refined morphology of Si phase and the formation of the Al2 Nd phase.展开更多
The primary phase evolution of ADC12 aluminum alloy rheo-processed by mechanical rotational barrel system was studied by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), optical microscopy(OM) and scanning electron microsc...The primary phase evolution of ADC12 aluminum alloy rheo-processed by mechanical rotational barrel system was studied by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), optical microscopy(OM) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The semisolid slurry analyses show that the solid fraction of ADC12 aluminum alloy increases from 0.38 to 0.43 while the roundness decreases from 0.45 to 0.38 with increasing the rotational speed from 30 to 120 r/min. When the pouring temperature decreases from 620 to 580 °C, the primary α(Al) morphology changes from spheroidal to rosette-like. Besides, the average particle size of primary phase and solid fraction increase with the decrease of pouring temperature. By rheo-diecasting process, the components with fine, spherical and uniformly distributed primary α(Al) particles were obtained, and the best microstructure was contained at the pouring temperature ranging from 595 to 605 °C. The rheo-processing feasibility of ADC12 aluminum alloy can be explained by the grains controlled growth theory, and the semisolid slurry obeys the Mullins-Sekerka criterion when solidifying in the high pressure die casting machine.展开更多

The results indicated that ...The effects of heat treatment and strontium (SO addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of ADC12 alloys were investigated, and two-stage solution treatment was introduced. The results indicated that the addition of Sr obviously refined the microstructure of ADC12 alloys. When 0.05 wt% Sr was added into the alloy, the eutectic Si phase was fully modified into fine fibrous structure; a-A1 and fl-A15FeSi phases were best refined; and the eutectic AlzCu phase was modified into block-like AlzCu phase that continuously distributed at the grain boundary. The ultimate tensile strength (UTS) (270.63 MPa) and elongation (3.19%) were increased by 51.2% and 73.4% respectively compared with unmodified alloys. After the two-stage solution treatment (500 ~C, 6 h+520 ~C, 4 h), for 0.05 wt% Sr modified ADC12 alloys, the Si phases transformed into fine particle structure and AlzCu phases were fully dissolved. The peak hardness value of the alloys processed by the two-stage solution treatment was increased by 8.3% and 6.8% respectively compared to solution treatment at 500 ~C and 520 ~C. After the aging treatment (175 ~C, 7 h), the hardness and UTS were increased by 38.73% and 13.96% respectively when compared with the unmodified alloy.展开更多

The defects investigated ar...The feasibility of semi-solid die casting of ADC12 aluminum alloy was studied. The effects of plunger speed, gate thickness, and solid fraction of the slurry on the defects were determined. The defects investigated are gas and shrinkage porosity. In the experiments, semi-solid slurry was prepared by the gas-induced semi-solid (GISS) technique. Then, the slurry was transferred to the shot sleeve and injected into the die. The die and shot sleeve temperatures were kept at 180 ℃ and 250 ℃, respectively. The results show that the samples produced by the GISS die casting give little porosity, no blister and uniform microstructure. From all the results, it can be concluded that the GISS process is feasible to apply in the ADC12 aluminum die casting process. In addition, the GISS process can give improved properties such as decreased porosity and increased microstructure uniformity.展开更多
A semi-solid microstructure of ADC12 aluminum alloy containing spherical solid particles was studied.A new strain-induced melt activation(SIMA) process was proposed.In the treatment,chips were cut from ADC12 ingot by ...A semi-solid microstructure of ADC12 aluminum alloy containing spherical solid particles was studied.A new strain-induced melt activation(SIMA) process was proposed.In the treatment,chips were cut from ADC12 ingot by lathe machining and the plastic deformation was produced through cutting.The chips were put into a metal mold and compressed into a billet at 473 K.The microstructures of chip and billet were studied.The effect of the isothermal treatment on the semi-solid microstructure evolution of ADC12 aluminum alloy prepared by the new method was analyzed.A series of heating treatments were carried out from 823 to 838 K.The effects of heating temperature on microstructures were studied.The experimental results show the ADC12 aluminum alloy prepared by the new method can reap homogeneous and spherical grains at 828 K.The average grain size is about 82 μm.Also,the grain microstructure obtained by the present process is better than the traditional one.These results prove that the ADC12 aluminum alloy can be applied to semi-solid processing with the new SIMA method.展开更多
The effects of rare earth ytterbium(Yb)addition and hot extrusion on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of as-cast ADC12 were studied by optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersiv...The effects of rare earth ytterbium(Yb)addition and hot extrusion on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of as-cast ADC12 were studied by optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The experimental results demonstrate that both the Si phase andβ-Al5FeSi phase in the alloy with 0.9 wt%Yb have been remarkably refined,and the Al3Yb intermetallic compound has also been obtained.The Si,β-Al5FeSi,and rare earth phases are further refined in the alloy at 0.9 wt%Yb and hot extrusion.The results of the immersion corrosion tests and electrochemical experiments show that the corrosion current density(8.56μA/cm2)of the alloy with 0.9 wt%Yb addition and hot extrusion is 50.6%lower than the untreated alloy(17.33μA/cm2),and the polarization resistance(9252Ω·cm2)was 71.3%higher than the untreated alloy(2654Ω·cm2).The corrosion in the cathode phase in the micro-battery was refined to varying degrees attributable to the addition of Yb and hot extrusion,where the cathode reaction in the corrosion process caused a decrease of the corrosion rate.展开更多

The microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-12Al0.7Si alloy and i...The effects of Sb and Sr on the modification and refinement of Mg17Al12 and Mg2Si phases in Mg- 12Al-0.7Si alloy were investigated and compared. The microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-12Al0.7Si alloy and its modification mechanism by Sb and Sr were investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), an energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The results indicate that by adding 0.5wt.% Sb to the Mg-12Al-0.7Si alloy, the Mg17Al12 phase was refined and broken into some discontinuous island structures. However, some network Mg17Al12 phases still can be detected in Mg-12Al-0.7Si-0.09Sr alloy. Therefore, Sb performs better in modification and refinement of Mg17Al12 phase than does Sr. Small amounts of fine polygonal shaped Mg2Si phases were found in Mg-12AI-0.7Si-0.5Sb alloy, while the morphology of Mg2Si phases in Mg-12Al-0.7Si-0.09Sr alloy changed from the coarse Chinese script shapes to fine granule and irregular polygonal shapes, indicating that the effects of modification and refinement on Mg2Si phase are more significant by adding 0.09wt.% Sr than 0.5wt.% Sb. The ultimate tensile strengths of the Sb and Sr modified Mg-12Al-0.7Si alloys were considerably increased both at room temperature and at 200 ℃.展开更多
The stress corrosion cracking(SCC)behaviors of 2A12 aluminum alloy after annealing treatment were studied by slow strain rate testing(SSRT),electrochemical polarization measurement,scanning electron microscope(SEM),en...The stress corrosion cracking(SCC)behaviors of 2A12 aluminum alloy after annealing treatment were studied by slow strain rate testing(SSRT),electrochemical polarization measurement,scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Various concentrations of NaCl,H_(2)SO_(4)and HCl aqueous solution were prepared to act as the corrosive solution.The experimental results show that regarding the SCC,2A12 alloy performs best in NaCl solution but worst in HCl solution and intermediately between the above mentioned two cases in H_(2)SO_(4)solution.For the SSRT carried out in room temperature,there is a higher decrease in elongation without large strength loss for the alloy immersed in NaCl solution.With the test conducted in H_(2)SO_(4)solution,there is a higher strength loss and a relatively less loss of elongation compared to the one immersed in NaCl solution.With the test conducted in HCl solution,there is a relativel level loss of strength and elongation compared to either result carried out in NaCl solution or H_(2)SO_(4)solution.展开更多

The results showed that, wi...The impact of rare earth element La on the microstructure and hot crack resistance of ADC12 alloy was analyzed. The additive amount of La was 0%, 0.3 wt%, 0.6 wt% and 0.9 wt%, respectively. The results showed that, with the increase of the additive amount from 0% to 0.6 wt%, the grain shape of α-Al gradually varied from developed dendritic crystal into fine dendritic crystal, equiaxed crystal and spheroidal crystal; eutectic silicon varied from needle-like or tabular shape into fine rod like shape; the hot crack force of the alloy also gradually decreased. However, when the additive amount of La reached 0.9 wt%, the excessive amount of rare earth elements was segregated within grain boundary area, forming intermetallic compounds. Therefore, the grain size of α-Al, eutectic silicon and the hot crack force of the alloy all increased. In the case that the additive amount of La reached 0.6 wt%, the best metamorphism effect and most excellent hot cracking resistance capacity of alloy were presented. The poisoning effect of rare earth element on eutectic silicon and the constitutional supercooling caused by rare earth element were the major causes for alloy modification, alloy refinement, and the main reasons for the increased hot cracking resistance.展开更多

The microstructure of the as-tested samples was studied by scanning electron microscopy. The results show that the Nyquist plots of LY12 at different immersion time displayed different features, indicating that the Cl- ions elevate the corrosion rate and inhibit the repassivation of a metastable pit. It also shows that the corrosion product of LY12 formed in SO42- solution isn't easy to dissolve, and it will cover the surface of working electrode in the electrolyte. SEM images indicate that the corrosion apparent area and pit number of LY12 in NaCl solution are greater than that in Na2SO4 solution.展开更多

文摘This study investigates the effect of{10-12}deformation twins on the continuous precipitation behavior of an extruded Mg-8.0Al-0.5Zn-0.2Mn(AZ80)alloy during aging.The extruded AZ80 alloy is compressed along the transverse direction to introduce{10-12}twins,followed by an aging treatment at 300℃.The extruded material exhibits a twin-free microstructure with low internal strain energy,whereas the pre-twinned material possesses abundant{10-12}twins and has high internal strain energy.The aging results reveal that the peak-aging time of the pre-twinned material(1 h)is one-eighth of that of the extruded material(8 h).Although Mg_(17)Al_(12)continuous precipitates(CPs)are observed in both the peak-aged materials,these CPs are much smaller and more densely distributed in the pre-twinned material despite the significantly shorter aging time.The CPs size in the peak-aged materials increases in the following order:twinned region in the pre-twinned material(0.47μm)<residual matrix region in the pre-twinned material(1.71μm)<matrix region in the extruded material(2.55μm).Moreover,the CPs number density in the twinned region of the pre-twinned material is approximately 11 times higher than that in the matrix region of the extruded material.The peak-aged pre-twinned material exhibits significantly higher tensile strength and ductility than the peak-aged extruded material.These results demonstrate that the formation of{10-12}twins in the extruded AZ80 alloy substantially accelerates the static precipitation of CPs during aging at 300℃and improves the tensile properties of the peak-aged material.

文摘The comparative experiments of age forming and artificial aging of 2A12 aluminum alloy were carried out. The effect of the age forming on the microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated. The results demonstrate that the grains are further squashed and elongated compared with artificial aging due to the existence of the applied stress during the age forming. Meanwhile, the precipitated phases change from circle shape with random orientation of age forming to long strip shape with uniform orientation of artificial aging. The dislocation configuration in samples changes from ring dislocation or helical dislocation of the artificial aging to long and straight dislocation of the age forming. Otherwise, age forming slightly reduces the tensile properties and fracture toughness of the alloy and enhances its fatigue crack growth rate.

文摘The microstructure and mechanical properties of near-eutectic Al-12 Si alloys modified with 0-0.4% Nd(mass fraction) were investigated. The results indicate that a submicro- or nano-sized Al2 Nd phase is observed in the modified alloy with 0.3% Nd. The morphology of the α(Al) phase is significantly refined in the Nd-modified alloys. The primary Si morphology simultaneously changes into a fine, particle-like morphology, and the morphology of eutectic Si becomes fine-fibrous instead of coarse-acicular. Relatively few growth twins are observed on the surface of the Si plate in the Al-12Si-0.3Nd alloy at the optimal modification level. The mechanical property test results confirm that the mechanical properties of the as-cast Al-12 Si alloys are enhanced after the Nd addition, with optimal ultimate tensile strength(UTS) of 252 MPa and elongation(EL) of 13% at an Nd content of 0.3%. The improved mechanical properties are attributed to the refined morphology of Si phase and the formation of the Al2 Nd phase.

文摘The primary phase evolution of ADC12 aluminum alloy rheo-processed by mechanical rotational barrel system was studied by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), optical microscopy(OM) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The semisolid slurry analyses show that the solid fraction of ADC12 aluminum alloy increases from 0.38 to 0.43 while the roundness decreases from 0.45 to 0.38 with increasing the rotational speed from 30 to 120 r/min. When the pouring temperature decreases from 620 to 580 °C, the primary α(Al) morphology changes from spheroidal to rosette-like. Besides, the average particle size of primary phase and solid fraction increase with the decrease of pouring temperature. By rheo-diecasting process, the components with fine, spherical and uniformly distributed primary α(Al) particles were obtained, and the best microstructure was contained at the pouring temperature ranging from 595 to 605 °C. The rheo-processing feasibility of ADC12 aluminum alloy can be explained by the grains controlled growth theory, and the semisolid slurry obeys the Mullins-Sekerka criterion when solidifying in the high pressure die casting machine.

文摘The effects of heat treatment and strontium (SO addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of ADC12 alloys were investigated, and two-stage solution treatment was introduced. The results indicated that the addition of Sr obviously refined the microstructure of ADC12 alloys. When 0.05 wt% Sr was added into the alloy, the eutectic Si phase was fully modified into fine fibrous structure; a-A1 and fl-A15FeSi phases were best refined; and the eutectic AlzCu phase was modified into block-like AlzCu phase that continuously distributed at the grain boundary. The ultimate tensile strength (UTS) (270.63 MPa) and elongation (3.19%) were increased by 51.2% and 73.4% respectively compared with unmodified alloys. After the two-stage solution treatment (500 ~C, 6 h+520 ~C, 4 h), for 0.05 wt% Sr modified ADC12 alloys, the Si phases transformed into fine particle structure and AlzCu phases were fully dissolved. The peak hardness value of the alloys processed by the two-stage solution treatment was increased by 8.3% and 6.8% respectively compared to solution treatment at 500 ~C and 520 ~C. After the aging treatment (175 ~C, 7 h), the hardness and UTS were increased by 38.73% and 13.96% respectively when compared with the unmodified alloy.

文摘The feasibility of semi-solid die casting of ADC12 aluminum alloy was studied. The effects of plunger speed, gate thickness, and solid fraction of the slurry on the defects were determined. The defects investigated are gas and shrinkage porosity. In the experiments, semi-solid slurry was prepared by the gas-induced semi-solid (GISS) technique. Then, the slurry was transferred to the shot sleeve and injected into the die. The die and shot sleeve temperatures were kept at 180 ℃ and 250 ℃, respectively. The results show that the samples produced by the GISS die casting give little porosity, no blister and uniform microstructure. From all the results, it can be concluded that the GISS process is feasible to apply in the ADC12 aluminum die casting process. In addition, the GISS process can give improved properties such as decreased porosity and increased microstructure uniformity.

文摘A semi-solid microstructure of ADC12 aluminum alloy containing spherical solid particles was studied.A new strain-induced melt activation(SIMA) process was proposed.In the treatment,chips were cut from ADC12 ingot by lathe machining and the plastic deformation was produced through cutting.The chips were put into a metal mold and compressed into a billet at 473 K.The microstructures of chip and billet were studied.The effect of the isothermal treatment on the semi-solid microstructure evolution of ADC12 aluminum alloy prepared by the new method was analyzed.A series of heating treatments were carried out from 823 to 838 K.The effects of heating temperature on microstructures were studied.The experimental results show the ADC12 aluminum alloy prepared by the new method can reap homogeneous and spherical grains at 828 K.The average grain size is about 82 μm.Also,the grain microstructure obtained by the present process is better than the traditional one.These results prove that the ADC12 aluminum alloy can be applied to semi-solid processing with the new SIMA method.

文摘The effects of rare earth ytterbium(Yb)addition and hot extrusion on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of as-cast ADC12 were studied by optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The experimental results demonstrate that both the Si phase andβ-Al5FeSi phase in the alloy with 0.9 wt%Yb have been remarkably refined,and the Al3Yb intermetallic compound has also been obtained.The Si,β-Al5FeSi,and rare earth phases are further refined in the alloy at 0.9 wt%Yb and hot extrusion.The results of the immersion corrosion tests and electrochemical experiments show that the corrosion current density(8.56μA/cm2)of the alloy with 0.9 wt%Yb addition and hot extrusion is 50.6%lower than the untreated alloy(17.33μA/cm2),and the polarization resistance(9252Ω·cm2)was 71.3%higher than the untreated alloy(2654Ω·cm2).The corrosion in the cathode phase in the micro-battery was refined to varying degrees attributable to the addition of Yb and hot extrusion,where the cathode reaction in the corrosion process caused a decrease of the corrosion rate.

文摘The extrusion preform of the spray-formed5A12Al alloy was hot rolled using high reduction rolling technology.By means of transmission electron microscopy(TEM),electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),the microstructure evolution was studied and the strengthening and toughening mechanism was thereby proposed.The results indicate that discontinuous and continuous dynamic recrystallization occurred during the hot rolling deformation of the spray-formed5A12Al alloy.The grain size was significantly refined and the micro-scale grains formed.Partial dynamic recrystallization leads to a significant increase of dislocation density and cellular structure.The Mg atoms were distributed in the Al matrix mainly in the presence of solid solution rather than the formation of precipitate.High solid solution of Mg atoms not only hindered the dislocation motion and increased the density of dislocation,but also exhibited a remarkable solid solution strengthening effect,which contributes to the high strength and high toughness of the as-rolled sheets.The tensile strength and elongation of spray formed5A12Al alloy at room temperature after3passes hot rolling were622MPa and20%,respectively.

文摘The effects of Sb and Sr on the modification and refinement of Mg17Al12 and Mg2Si phases in Mg- 12Al-0.7Si alloy were investigated and compared. The microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-12Al0.7Si alloy and its modification mechanism by Sb and Sr were investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), an energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The results indicate that by adding 0.5wt.% Sb to the Mg-12Al-0.7Si alloy, the Mg17Al12 phase was refined and broken into some discontinuous island structures. However, some network Mg17Al12 phases still can be detected in Mg-12Al-0.7Si-0.09Sr alloy. Therefore, Sb performs better in modification and refinement of Mg17Al12 phase than does Sr. Small amounts of fine polygonal shaped Mg2Si phases were found in Mg-12AI-0.7Si-0.5Sb alloy, while the morphology of Mg2Si phases in Mg-12Al-0.7Si-0.09Sr alloy changed from the coarse Chinese script shapes to fine granule and irregular polygonal shapes, indicating that the effects of modification and refinement on Mg2Si phase are more significant by adding 0.09wt.% Sr than 0.5wt.% Sb. The ultimate tensile strengths of the Sb and Sr modified Mg-12Al-0.7Si alloys were considerably increased both at room temperature and at 200 ℃.

文摘The stress corrosion cracking(SCC)behaviors of 2A12 aluminum alloy after annealing treatment were studied by slow strain rate testing(SSRT),electrochemical polarization measurement,scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Various concentrations of NaCl,H_(2)SO_(4)and HCl aqueous solution were prepared to act as the corrosive solution.The experimental results show that regarding the SCC,2A12 alloy performs best in NaCl solution but worst in HCl solution and intermediately between the above mentioned two cases in H_(2)SO_(4)solution.For the SSRT carried out in room temperature,there is a higher decrease in elongation without large strength loss for the alloy immersed in NaCl solution.With the test conducted in H_(2)SO_(4)solution,there is a higher strength loss and a relatively less loss of elongation compared to the one immersed in NaCl solution.With the test conducted in HCl solution,there is a relativel level loss of strength and elongation compared to either result carried out in NaCl solution or H_(2)SO_(4)solution.

文摘The impact of rare earth element La on the microstructure and hot crack resistance of ADC12 alloy was analyzed. The additive amount of La was 0%, 0.3 wt%, 0.6 wt% and 0.9 wt%, respectively. The results showed that, with the increase of the additive amount from 0% to 0.6 wt%, the grain shape of α-Al gradually varied from developed dendritic crystal into fine dendritic crystal, equiaxed crystal and spheroidal crystal; eutectic silicon varied from needle-like or tabular shape into fine rod like shape; the hot crack force of the alloy also gradually decreased. However, when the additive amount of La reached 0.9 wt%, the excessive amount of rare earth elements was segregated within grain boundary area, forming intermetallic compounds. Therefore, the grain size of α-Al, eutectic silicon and the hot crack force of the alloy all increased. In the case that the additive amount of La reached 0.6 wt%, the best metamorphism effect and most excellent hot cracking resistance capacity of alloy were presented. The poisoning effect of rare earth element on eutectic silicon and the constitutional supercooling caused by rare earth element were the major causes for alloy modification, alloy refinement, and the main reasons for the increased hot cracking resistance.

文摘The electrochemical features of commercial airfrarne material, Al alloy LY12, in 0.349mol/L neutral sodium chloride (NaCl) and sodium sulfate (NazSO^) solutions were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiody-namic polarization techniques. The microstructure of the as-tested samples was studied by scanning electron microscopy. The results show that the Nyquist plots of LY12 at different immersion time displayed different features, indicating that the Cl- ions elevate the corrosion rate and inhibit the repassivation of a metastable pit. It also shows that the corrosion product of LY12 formed in SO42- solution isn't easy to dissolve, and it will cover the surface of working electrode in the electrolyte. SEM images indicate that the corrosion apparent area and pit number of LY12 in NaCl solution are greater than that in Na2SO4 solution.
