However, due to the...Due to the sufficient ion diffusion channels provided by the large interlayer spacing, layered silicates are widely considered as potential anode materials for lithium ion and sodium ion batteries. However, due to the poor electronic conductivity, the application of layered silicates for electrochemical energy storage has been greatly limited. Carbon nanotube(CNT) film has excellent electrical conductivity and a unique interconnected network, making it an ideal matrix for composite electrochemical material. We herein report a CNT@nickel silicate composite film(CNT@NiSiO) fabricated by a SiO2-mediated hydrothermal conversion process, for sodium storage with excellent electrochemical properties. The obtained composite possesses a cladding structure with homogeneous nanosheets as the outermost and CNT film as the inner network matrix, providing abundant ion diffusion channels, high electronic conductivity, and good mechanical flexibility. Due to these merits, this material possesses an excellent electrochemical performance for sodium storage, including a high specific capacity up to 390 mAh g-1 at 50 mA g-1, good rate performance up to 205 mAh g-1 at 500 mA g-1, and excellent cycling stability. On this basis, this work would bring a promising material for various energy storage devices and other emerging applications.展开更多
[Objectives]To explore the protective effects of Zuogui Pill on ^(60)Co-γ-ray-induced premature aging of rats based on phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin(PI3K/Akt/mTOR)signal...[Objectives]To explore the protective effects of Zuogui Pill on ^(60)Co-γ-ray-induced premature aging of rats based on phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin(PI3K/Akt/mTOR)signaling pathway.[Methods]Sixty sexually mature female SD rats were irradiated with ^(60)Co-γ-ray(6.0 Gy,LD 40)for 24 h at one time.These rats were randomly divided into model group,Progynova group[0.18(g·kg)/d],Progynova[0.09(g·kg)/d]+Zuogui Pill high dose[23.625(g·kg)/d)]group,Zuogui Pill high dose[23.625(g·kg)/d)]group,Zuogui Pill medium dose[9.45(g·kg)/d)]group and Zuogui Pill low dose[4.725(g·kg)/d]group.The administration(once a day)lasted 21 d.The rat serum[follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH)and estradiol(E_(2))]were detected by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The morphological changes of ovary were observed by hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining.The apoptosis rate of granulosa cells was detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase(TdT)-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL).The protein expression of phosphorylated(p)-PI3K,p-Akt,p-mTOR,B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2),and Bcl-2-associated X protein(Bax)in ovarian tissues were detected by Western blot.[Results]Compared with the normal group,the model group showed significant increase in the serum FSH(P<0.01),significant decrease in serum E_(2)(P<0.05),and decrease in the number of early follicles and luteum in the ovary(P<0.01).Besides,the apoptosis rate of granulosa cells increased significantly(P<0.01);the expression of p-PI3K,p-Akt,p-mTOR and Bcl-2 in ovarian tissue decreased significantly,while the expression of Bax increased significantly(P<0.01).Compared with the model group,the number of early follicles in the ovary increased and the apoptosis rate of granulosa cells decreased after intervention in each administration group.In addition,the protein expressions of p-PI3K,p-Akt,p-mTOR and Bcl-2 increased,while the expression of Bax decreased,especially in Progynova+Zuogui Pill high dose group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05,P<0.01).[Conclusions]Zuogui Pill may protect the radiation-injured ovary through activating the expression of PI3K/Akt/mTOR protein in ovarian tissue,increasing the amount of Bcl-2 protein and inhibiting the expression of Bax protein.展开更多

Aim:Chemoresistance is the biggest obstacle in cancer treatment.Our previous study demonstrated that Shenmai injection(SMI),a Chinese herbal medicine,enhanced the antitumor effect of cisplatin via glucose metabolism r...Aim:Chemoresistance is the biggest obstacle in cancer treatment.Our previous study demonstrated that Shenmai injection(SMI),a Chinese herbal medicine,enhanced the antitumor effect of cisplatin via glucose metabolism reprogramming.This study aimed to further determine whether the SMI sensitizes the non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)cells to cisplatin through regulation mitochondrial dynamics.Methods:The Kaplan-Meier Plotter database was used to investigate the relationship between mRNA expression of mitofusin-2(Mfn2)and the survival analysis of NSCLC patients.The protein expression of Mfn2 in a lung adenocarcinoma tissue chip was detected by immunohistochemistry staining.The expression of Mfn2 and ATAD3A were compared between cisplatin-sensitive A549 and cisplatin-resistant A549/DDP cells.Additionally,A549/DDP cells were co-treated with cisplatin and SMI to detect mitochondrial morphology by fluorescent staining,apoptosis-related protein expression with Western blotting,and mitochondrial membrane potential(ΔΨm)with flow cytometry analysis.Results:The mean survival time of the Mfn2^(low) group was significantly lower than that of the Mfn2^(high) group by Kaplan-Meier Plotter database analysis,and the Mfn2 protein expression level was lower in cancer tissues than in adjacent tissues.The combination of SMI and cisplatin induced dynamic changes in A549/DDP cells,with increased mitochondrial fusion followed by upregulation of Mfn2 and downregulation of ATAD3A and reduced mitochondrial mass and ΔΨm.Moreover,SMI significantly enhanced cisplatin-induced A549/DDP apoptosis,upregulated Bax and the active subunit of caspase-3,and downregulated Bcl-2 expression,as shown via Hoechst staining and flow cytometry analysis.Conclusion:Our findings suggest SMI enhances cisplatin-induced apoptosis through regulation of Mfn2-dependent mitochondrial dynamics in cisplatin-resistant lung adenocarcinoma cells.展开更多

Study design: We used an animal model of compressive spinal cord injury with incomplete paraparesis to evaluate neural cell apoptosis after decompression. Apoptosis and cellular damage were assessed by staining with terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT)-mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate nick-end labelling (TUNEL) and immunostaining for caspase-3, Bcl-2 and Bax. Methods: Experiments were conducted in male Sprague-Dawley rats (n-78) weighing 300-400 g. The spinal cord was compressed posteriorly at T10 level using a custom-made screw for 6 h, 24 h or continuously, followed by decompression by removal of the screw. The rats were sacrificed on Day I or 3 or in Week 1 or 4 post-decompression. The spinal cord was removed en bloc and examined at lesion site, rostral site and caudal site (7.5 mm away from the lesion). Results: The numbers of TUNEL-positive cells were significantly lower at the site of decompression on Day 1, and also at the rostral and caudal sites between Day 3 and Week 4 post-decompression, compared with the persistently compressed group. The numbers of cells between Day 1 and Week 4 were immunoreactive to caspase-3 and B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2)-associated X-protein (Bax), but not to Bcl-2, correlated with those of TUNEL-positive cells. Conclusion: Our results suggest that decompression reduces neural cell apoptosis following spinal cord injury.展开更多

By using bromi...Some Stemona alkaloids belonging to the tuberostemospironine group possess a spirolactone moiety with anti-configuration (C-9/C-9a). In this paper, we describe two approaches to this structural unity. By using bromine atom as a traceless directing group, the SmI2-mediated reductive coupling of ketone 6 and fl-bromomethacrylate proceeded with complete anti-diastereoselectivity. In the absence of an a-directing (chelation) group, the one-pot reaction of the ketone derived from alcohol 15 with the organozinc reagent generated from bromomethacrylate af- forded spiro-a-methylene-y-lactone derivative 16 as a single diastereomer. These two highly diastereoselective methods would find application in the synthesis of stemona alkaloids containing anti-configured spiro-lactone/pyr- rolidine moieties. In addition, on the basis of our previous work, the total synthesis of (-)-9-epi-11-demethyl- sessilifoliamide J (11), and an improved synthesis of (-)-9,11-di-epi-sessilifoliamide J (9) were accomplished.展开更多
