These social and natural changes influence people’s health worldwide. Aging impacts human health, including physical and mental aspects, and increases the need for care. Recent crises have affected not only the elderly but also younger populations, necessitating further efforts to develop a systematic community strategy. The goal of such a strategy is to maintain or enhance people’s well-being. As we face aging and crises like pandemics and climate change, it becomes essential to consider health holistically and globally, taking into account the community environment and social determinants without boundaries. The present study aimed to explore the necessary aspects of incorporating social determinants into clinical practice, enabling healthcare providers to view health from a holistic and planetary perspective. This approach facilitates the development of integrated community strategies. The study reviewed literature from PubMed, MEDLINE, and CINAHL databases, focusing on medicine, health, and welfare. An electronic search for English-language articles in peer-reviewed journals was conducted up to July 2024, using search terms such as “holistic health,” “planetary health,” and “social determinants.” Eight articles were identified through the search. After excluding three based on their titles, abstracts, and full texts, five articles were selected. The research focused on three areas: perceiving health in ecosystems, considering health-related policy in clinical situations, and addressing health in primary care settings. This study emphasizes the need for further research on innovative, integrated community strategies in the context of a globally aging society, focusing on non-medical aspects like pandemics, climate change, and social determinants to achieve a holistic and planetary understanding of people’s health. It suggests that understanding the social aspects of ecosystems in clinical settings, through interdisciplinary collaboration, is crucial for developing systematic community strategies for people’s well-being life in medical, health, and welfare contexts.展开更多

However, the current rural community self-organizing construction falls far behind the requirements of realistic practice all over China, which greatly affects the advancement of the rural modernization of China. On the other hand, social work provides a unique perspective and method to deal with these problems. Its service philosophy of selfservice as well as its humanitarian value and practical working methods provide reality conformity for the intervention into rural community self-organizing, making it conductive to improving the social relations between rural community residents and possible to realize the mutual development of rural community and rural community residents.展开更多

Those who relate to patients with hearing loss (PHL) also share some part of the negative effects. Some specifics are communication disability, which impacts speech and language development, academic performance, and social or work life. In previous years, the problem was predicted to be aggravated as the expected life span of the population increased. The study was conducted among PHL and their family members in JUTH and Kazahyet Audiology Service in Jos. 150 PHL were purposively sampled. The study was guided by a Cross-sectional Survey Research Design, and the specific objectives were to (1) identify the social effects of hearing loss on the PHL, (2) determine the implication of social effects on PHL, and (3) determine the extent at which these social effects affect PHL. The outcome of the study shows that the social effects faced by PHL are poor relationships, no secrets, dependence on sign language, frustration, depression, and dependence on lip reading. Some stop schooling, and others feel laughed at and therefore choose the path of isolation. The implication is that hearing loss is expensive to manage. PHL always feel they are not contributing their quarter in life as usual;they feel stigmatized and are not easy to relate with. The study recommends that the government should come up with policies that will check man-made behaviors that exert negative social effects on PHL in our society, subsidize the cost of hearing aids and cochlear implants to be affordable for PHL, formulate a policy on mandatory newborn hearing screening before the infant is discharged from the hospital to help in the early identification of hearing loss. Finally, the early creation of awareness of the dangers or consequences of hearing loss will go a long way in preventing our society from involvement in high-risk behaviors that will cause hearing loss.展开更多

This boom of data has led to considerable interest in research fields such as user behavior mining, trajectory discovery and social demographics. However, there is little research on community discovery in mobile social networks, and this is the problem this work tackles with. In this work, we take advantage of one simple property that people in different locations often belong to different social circles in order to discover communities in these networks. Based on this property, which we referred to as Location-lnteraction Disparity (LID), we proposed a state network and then define a quality function evaluating community detection results. We also propose a hybrid community- detection algorithm using LID tor discovering location-based communities effectively and efficiently. Experiments on synthesis networks show that this algorithm can run effectively in time and discover communities with high precision. In realworld networks, the method reveals people's different social circles in different places with high efficiency.展开更多

However, the current rural community self-organizing construction falls far behind the requirements of realistic practice all over China, which greatly affects the advancement of the rural modernization of China. On the other hand, social work provides a unique perspective and method to deal with these problems. Its service philosophy of selfservice as well as its humanitarian value and practical working methods provide reality conformity for the intervention into rural community self-organizing, making it conductive to improving the social relations between rural community residents and possible to realize the mutual development of rural community and rural community residents.
文摘The end of modernism questions reality and its theoretical description, and various attempts of postmodern rethinking of the social emerge-from denial, assertion of the disappearance of the social to its salvation through radical rethinking.Theorizing around the imaginary emerges and continues as a result of this rethinking.Cornelius Castoriadis, for example, absolutizes the concept of the imaginary, which,in his opinion, even contains the rational.Charles Taylor gives imaginary, though important, but limited role as a background knowledge.Speaking of the imaginary, one cannot,of course, ignore Benedict Andersen’s imaginary communities.According to Andersen, the“imagination”of a nation, like any other community, reflects not the fact that they are“invented”or“constructed”but that they are the result of human practice, that social reality is a socio-historical and cultural product.Nation differs from other communities in the style of representation, namely, the representation-understanding,first of all,of space and time.A specific moment in time is connected not only with the past and future, but also with the same moment in another time and space measurement.People in this case, communicate and socialize through books, newspapers, and national languages. Most importantly, the nation as an imaginary community opposes itself to other communities, distinguishes itself from them, and strives for autonomy. And the guarantee of autonomy is the sovereign state, the nation-state,therefore the nation is always connected with the state and the territory of the exercise of its monopoly right. That is,the nation is an imaginary community that is real only to the extent that it is correlated with the modern territorial state.According to the author, the transformation of the national imaginary under the conditions of globalization is characterized by the loss of attachment to the territory,by the fact that territoriality ceases to be the main, organizing principle of social life.Social practices are increasingly formed beyond borders, belonging to ethnicity, national identity is not determined by territory and citizenship.Despite this,we must not forget that globalization is not a finished project. The transformation of the national imaginary should be viewed not only as the emergence of new imaginary communities, whether national or transnational, but also against the backdrop of interaction and even struggle between traditional forms of social practices and new ones,as evidenced by the growth of ethnic conflicts and separatist movements.According to Appudurai, this is also a consequence of globalization processes. And how this confrontation will end,the question remains open.
文摘Hearing loss has caused serious social effects among people living with it. Finally, the early creation of awareness of the dangers or consequences of hearing loss will go a long way in preventing our society from involvement in high-risk behaviors that will cause hearing loss.
文摘The structure and dynamic nature of real-world networks can be revealed by communities that help in promotion of recommendation systems.Social Media platforms were initially developed for effective communication, but now it is being used widely for extending and to obtain profit among business community. The numerous data generated through these platforms are utilized by many companies that make a huge profit out of it.A giant network of people in social media is grouped together based on their similar properties to form a community.Commu-nity detection is recent topic among the research community due to the increase usage of online social network.Community is one of a significant property of a net-work that may have many communities which have similarity among them.Community detection technique play a vital role to discover similarities among the nodes and keep them strongly connected.Similar nodes in a network are grouped together in a single community.Communities can be merged together to avoid lot of groups if there exist more edges between them.Machine Learning algorithms use community detection to identify groups with common properties and thus for recommen-dation systems, health care assistance systems and many more.Considering the above, this paper presents alternative method SimEdge-CD(Similarity and Edge between's based Community Detection)for community detection. The two stages of SimEdge-CD initiallyfind the similarity among nodes and group them into one community.During the second stage,it identifies the exact affiliations of boundary nodes using edge betweenness to create well defined communities.Evaluation of proposed method on synthetic and real datasets proved to achieve a better accuracy-efficiency trade-of compared to other existing methods. Our proposed SimEdge-CD achieves ideal value of 1 which is higher than existing sim closure like LPA,Attractor,Leiden and walktrap techniques.
文摘Based on the social influence theory, the influence of virtual brand community members’perceived value on social influencing factors is discussed, and the influence of social influencing factors on virtual brand community members’continuous participation in decision-making is analyzed.Through an empirical analysis of the survey data of Xiaomi users in the Xiaomi Community, the results showed that the perceived value of virtual brand community members significantly and positively affects social influencing factors, which also significantly and positively affect the members’continuous participation in virtual brand communities. Therefore, only by sharing valuable information resources and improving the efficiency of information flow, thereby enhancing the perceived value of the community and increasing the stickiness of members to the virtual community, will we have an opportunity to enhance the interaction among members and effectively promote continuous participation in community activities through the strong bonds formed among members.
文摘Objective:This study aimed to describe the social determinants of health influencing obesity for the aged in a community context and based on the perspectives of various stakeholders. Methods:This was qualitative content analysis study using data from the focus group, individual in-depth interview, and observation. The study population was domiciled in Pakpoon Village,Mung Dis-trict,Nakhon Si Thammarat Province,a tight-knit settlement typical of most retirement communities.Data were collected through two focus group discussions, direct observation, and in-depth interviews with 19 participants.Respondents represented key community groups:local nurses and public health officers, elderly residents, family caregivers(family members),and village health volunteers. Results:The participants shared similar perspectives about the social determinants of health influencing obesity in the aged, which spanned three themes. These were:1)neighborhood food environment(easy access to unhealthy food,no choice to recruit healthy food);2)social networks influencing obesity(family affects food choices and prohibitions on exercise;belief, and socially imposed body image per-ceptions contributing to obesity in the aged);and 3)knowledge,attitudes,and beliefs behind lifestyle choices that cause obesity in the elderly(lack of awareness, personal attitudes, job and familial duties as barriers to engaging in physical activities;over-consumption behaviors lead to obesity in older people). Conclusion:These three themes were the root causes of obesity in the elderly in Pakpoon’s retirement community. This finding suggests that policymakers and nurses can create healthy environments, both to treat and prevent obesity,by raising awareness in younger generations, providing aging the provision of healthy food choices for older adults, encouraging health care professionals to share knowledge, and by modifying the attitudes and beliefs of both caregivers and older adults.

文摘To explore the relationship between social support and sleep quality of community workers in Wuhan during the coronavirus disease 2019(the COVID-19 infection epidemic),this research constructed a mediating effect model to explore the mediating psychological mechanism of social support influencing sleep quality of front-line community workers.A total of 500 front-line community workers in Wuhan were investigated. We used the perceived social support scale(PSSS),the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),the perceived stress scale(PSS),and the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)to measure social support, psychological resilience, perceived stress and sleep quality.Specifically, the higher the PSQI,the worse the sleep quality.Pearson correlation structural equation model was used to analyze the relationship between these factors. The results showed that:(1)There was a significant negative correlation between social support, psychological resilience, and perceived stress of community workers and PSQI,that means, the higher the level of social support, psychological resilience, and perceived stress, the higher the sleep quality.(2)Social support positively predicted psychological resilience and perceived stress, and perceived stress negatively predicted PSQI.(3)Social support can affect sleep quality through the mediating role of psychological resilience and perceived stress, and the mediating role includes two paths:the single mediating role of perceived stress and the chain mediating role of psychological resilience-perceived stress.(4)Gender moderates the relation-ship between social support and perceived stress, and the influence of social support on perceived stress of women is higher than that of men.Gender moderates the relationship between psychological resilience and PSQI,and only women’s psychological resilience had a negatively predictive effect on PSQI,while men did not, which means that psychological resilience of female frontline community workers can positively predict sleep quality. This research reveals the relationship between social support and sleep quality and its mechanism and verifies that social support can indirectly affect physical health through psychological resilience and perceived stress. It provides reference suggestions and intervention guidance for improving the sleep quality of community workers.

文摘This paper aims to effectively solve the problem of the influence maximization in social networks. For this purpose,an influence maximization method that can identify influential nodes via the community structure and the influence distribution difference is proposed.Firstly, the network embedding-based community detection approach is developed,by which the social network is divided into several high-quality communities.Secondly, the solution of influence maximization is composed of the candidate stage and the greedy stage. The candidate stage is to select candidate nodes from the interior and the boundary of each community using a heuristic algorithm, and the greedy stage is to determine seed nodes with the largest marginal influence increment from the candidate set through the sub-modular property-based Greedy algorithm. Finally, experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method compared with existing methods, from which one can further find that our work can achieve a good tradeoff between the influence spread and the running time.

文摘With the fast-growth of mobile social network, people' s interactions are frequently marked with location information, such as longitude and latitude of visited base station. In realworld networks, the method reveals people's different social circles in different places with high efficiency.

文摘Community detection in social networks is a hard problem because of the size, and the need of a deep understanding of network structure and functions. While several methods with significant effort in this direction have been devised,an outstanding open problem is the unknown number of communities,it is generally believed that the role of influential nodes that are surrounded by neighbors is very important. In addition, the similarity among nodes inside the same cluster is greater than among nodes from other clusters.Lately, the global and local methods of community detection have been getting more attention. Therefore,in this study,we propose an advanced communitydetection model for social networks in order to identify network communities based on global and local information. Our proposed model initially detects the most influential nodes by using an Eigen score then performs local expansion powered by label propagation. This process is conducted with the same color till nodes reach maximum similarity. Finally, the communities are formed, and a clear community graph is displayed to the user. Our proposed model is completely parameter-free,and therefore,no prior information is required, such as the number of communities, etc. We perform simulations and experiments using well-known synthetic and real network benchmarks, and compare them with well-known state-of-the-art models. The results prove that our model is efficient in all aspects, because it quickly identifies communities in the network. Moreover,it can easily be used for friendship recommendations or in business recommendation systems.
