In this work,the structure,viscosity and ion-exchange process of Na_(2)O-MgO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2) glasses with different Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) molar ratios were investigated.The results showed that,with increasing Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) ratio,the simple structural units Q_(1) and Q_(2) transformed into highly aggregated structural units Q_(3) and Q_(4),indicating the increase of polymerization degree of glass network.Meanwhile,the coefficient of thermal expansion decreased from 9.23×10^(-6)℃^(-1) to 8.88×10^(-6)℃^(-1).The characteristic temperatures such as melting,forming,softening and glass transition temperatures increased with the increase of Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) ratio,while the glasses working temperature range became narrow.The increasing Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) ratio and prolonging ion-exchange time enhanced the surface compressive stress(CS)and depth of stress layer(DOL).However,the increase of ion exchange temperature increased the DOL and decreased the CS affected by stress relaxation.There was a good linear relationship between stress relaxation and surface compressive stress.Chemical strengthening significantly improved the hardness of glasses,which reached the maximum value of(622.1±10)MPa for sample with Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) ratio of 0.27 after heat treated at 410℃for 2 h. 展开更多

The state-selective cross section data are useful for understanding and modeling the x-ray emission in celestial observations.In the present work,using the cold target recoil ion momentum spectroscopy,for the first time we investigated the state-selective single electron capture processes for S^(q+)–He and H_(2)(q=11–15)collision systems at an impact energy of q×20 keV and obtained the relative state-selective cross sections.The results indicate that only a few principal quantum states of the projectile energy level are populated in a single electron capture process.In particular,the increase of the projectile charge state leads to the population of the states with higher principal quantum numbers.It is also shown that the experimental averaged n-shell populations are reproduced well by the over-barrier model.The database is openly available in Science Data Bank at 10.57760/sciencedb.j00113.00091. 展开更多

Adsorption of Ce(Ⅳ) Anionic Nitrato Complexes onto Anion Exchangers and Its Application for Ce(Ⅳ) Separation from Rare Earths(Ⅲ) 被引量:9

Ce (Ⅳ) nitrato complexes were adsorbed on two anion exchangers based on polyvinyl pyridine (PVP) and quatemized PVP incorporated into porous silica matrix. The effect of nitric acid concentration (0.5~6 mol·L^-1) and temperature (278 ~318 K) on Ce( Ⅳ ) sorption efficiency was investigated. Sorption increased with increasing nitric acid concentration, indicating that [Ce(NO3)6]^2- complex is the main adsorbed Ce(Ⅳ) species. Oxidation of sorbents by adsorbed Ce ( Ⅳ ) species resulting in Ce ( Ⅲ ) release to the solution was observed. Pyridine based anion exchangers exhibited higher oxidation stability compared to the commercial strong base anion exchanger. Ce( Ⅳ ) reduction was temperature dependent and obeyed pseudo-first-order reaction kinetics. Column separation of Ce ( Ⅳ ) from La ( Ⅲ ) and Y ( Ⅲ ) was carried out from 6 mol·L^-1 nitric acid with PVP based anion exchanger. Reasonable Ce (Ⅳ) breakthrough capacity (0.7 mol·kg^-1 PVP) was achieved. No remarkable decrease of capacity was observed within 3 consequent runs. In contrast, Ce (Ⅲ) leakage due to reduction decreased and breakthrough capacity slightly increased. This effect was more pronounced with increasing temperature. Regeneration with 0.1 mol·L^- 1 nitric acid was successful (recovery 100% ± 4% ) and Ce solution of high purity ( 〉 99.97% ) with respect to La and Y content was gained. 展开更多

Defective layered Mn-based materials were synthesized by Li/Na ion exchange to improve their electrochemical activity and Coulombic efficiency.The annealing temperature of the Na precursors was important to control the P3-P2 phase transition,which directly affected the structure and electrochemical characteristics of the final products obtained by ion exchange.The O3-Li_(0.78)[Li_(0.25)Fe_(0.075)Mn_(0.675)]O_(δ) cathode made from a P3-type precursor calcined at 700℃ was analyzed using X-ray photoelectron spectrometry and electron paramagnetic resonance.The results showed that the presence of abundant trivalent manganese and defects resulted in a discharge capacity of 230 mAh/g with an initial Coulombic efficiency of about 109%.Afterward,galvanostatic intermittent titration was performed to examine the Li^(+) ion diffusion coefficients,which affected the reversible capacity.First principles calculations suggested that the charge redistribution induced by oxygen vacancies(OV_(s))greatly affected the local Mn coordination environment and enhanced the structural activity.Moreover,the Li-deficient cathode was a perfect match for the pre-lithiation anode,providing a novel approach to improve the initial Coulombic efficiency and activity of Mn-based materials in the commercial application. 展开更多

In our previous work, a series of polyethylenimine(PEI)-derived cation exchangers were synthesized using PEIgrafted resin FF-PEI-L740(ionic capacity, 740 mmol·L^-1) as the basic resin to study lysozyme adsorption and chromatographic behavior. It was found that the resin with an ionic capacity of 630 mmol·L^-1(FF-PEI-CR630)possessed high adsorption performance towards lysozyme at 0–100 mmol·L^-1 Na Cl. Therefore, in this work,FF-PEI-CR630 was selected to study the influences of pH and ionic strength(IS) on protein adsorption and chromatographic behavior towards lysozyme. The increase of lysozyme adsorption capacity in the pH range of 6 to 10 was observed. However, the uptake rate decreased in the pH range of 6 to 8 and then remained essentially unchanged from pH 8 to pH 10. Increasing IS led to decreased protein adsorption capacity and increased uptake rate in different pH ranges. Besides, FF-PEI-CR630 maintained dynamic binding capacity as high as over150 mg·ml^-1 at pH 8–10 without NaCl. The research has thus provided insight into the selection of proper pH and IS conditions for protein purification by using FF-PEI-CR630. 展开更多

Poly(Ionic Liquid) as an Anion Exchange Membrane for a 3.3 V Copper–Lithium Battery

Metal–metal battery bears great potential for next-generation large-scale energy storage system because of its simple manufacture process and low production cost.However,the cross-over of metal cations from the cathode to the anode causes a loss in capacity and influences battery stability.Herein,a coating of poly(ionic liquid)(PIL)with poly(diallyldimethylammonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide)(PDADMA^(+)TFSI^(−))on a commercial polypropylene(PP)separator serves as an anion exchange membrane for a 3.3 V copper–lithium battery.The PIL has a positively charged polymer backbone that can block the migration of copper ions,thus improving Coulombic efficiency,long-term cycling stability and inhibiting self-discharge of the battery.It can also facilitate the conduction of anions through the membrane and reduce polarization,especially for fast charging/discharging.Bruce-Vincent method gives the transport number in the electrolyte to be 0.25 and 0.04 for PP separator without and with PIL coating,respectively.This suggests that the PIL layer reduces the contribution of the internal current due to cation transport.The use of PIL as a coating layer for commercial PP separator is a cost-effective way to improve overall electrochemical performance of copper–lithium batteries.Compared to PP and polyacrylic acid(PAA)/PP separators,the PIL/PP membrane raises the Coulombic efficiency to 99%and decreases the average discharge voltage drop to about 0.09 V when the current density is increased from 0.1 to 1 mA cm^(−2). 展开更多

Our previous studies on bovine serum albumin(BSA) adsorption to diethylaminoethyl dextran(DEAE dextran,DexD, grafting-ligand) and DEAE(D, surface-ligand) modified Sepharose FF resins found that all the grafted resins(FF-DexD and FF-D-DexD) exhibited extremely fast uptake rate(effective diffusivity, D_e, D_e/D_O> 1.4),which was six times greater than the ungrafted resins(D_e/D_O < 0.3). In this work, the influence of ionic strength(IS) on 6 typical DEAE dextran-grafted resins was investigated. Bath adsorption equilibria and kinetics, breakthrough, and linear gradient elution experiments were conducted. Commercial DEAE Sepharose FF was used for comparison. It is found that protein adsorption capacities on DEAE dextran-FF resins and the commercial resin decreased with increasing IS, but DEAE dextran-FF resins exhibited much higher capacity sensitivity to salt concentration. Besides, steeper decrease of adsorption capacities could be obtained at higher graftingligand or surface-ligand density. It is worth noting that the facilitating role of surface-ligand to the "chain delivery" effect was weakened after adding salt, leading to the less improvement in uptake rate by increasing surface-ligand density at higher IS. Although the uptake rates of the DEAE dextran-FF resins increased first and then decreased with increasing IS, they kept the extremely high level of De values(D_e/D_O > 1.1) at the their working/binding IS range. Moreover, the DEAE dextran-FF resin displayed much higher adsorption capacities and De values than commercial ungrafted resin in their working condition. Furthermore, the column results of DEAE dextran-FF resins presented higher dynamic binding capacities than and similar elution ISs with DEAE Sepharose FF to achieve similar(or even higher) recoveries suggest the excellent chromatographic column performance of the DEAE dextran-FF resins. Finally, both high recovery and purity of BSA and γ-globulin could be easily achieved using the typical DEAE dextran-FF column, FF-D60-DexD160, to separate their binary mixtures,by step gradient elution. The research has provided new insights into the practical application of the series of DEAE-dextran grafted resins in protein chromatography and proved their superiority. 展开更多

In recent years,low-dimensional transition metal chalcogenide(TMC)materials have garnered growing research attention due to their superior electronic,optical,and catalytic properties compared to their bulk counterparts.The controllable synthesis and manipulation of these materials are crucial for tailoring their properties and unlocking their full potential in various applications.In this context,the atomic substitution method has emerged as a favorable approach.It involves the replacement of specific atoms within TMC structures with other elements and possesses the capability to regulate the compositions finely,crystal structures,and inherent properties of the resulting materials.In this review,we present a comprehensive overview on various strategies of atomic substitution employed in the synthesis of zero-dimensional,one-dimensional and two-dimensional TMC materials.The effects of substituting elements,substitution ratios,and substitution positions on the structures and morphologies of resulting material are discussed.The enhanced electrocatalytic performance and photovoltaic properties of the obtained materials are also provided,emphasizing the role of atomic substitution in achieving these advancements.Finally,challenges and future prospects in the field of atomic substitution for fabricating low-dimensional TMC materials are summarized. 展开更多

The influences of types and grain sizes of resin, adsorption modes and the acidity on the determination were studied systematically, and the optimum operating conditions and the allowable amounts of foreign ions were determined. In comparison with the ordinary solution colorimetry, both of the sensitivity and the selectivity of this ion exchanger colorimetry are improved obviously. The Na+/Ca2+ exchanger plays an important role in regulation of airway smooth muscle contraction by regulating intracellular calcium, and is a potential target for treatment of asthma. To test modulation of exchanger activity, we used Xenopus oocytes as model system. Na+/Ca2+ exchanger was expressed in the cells by microinjection of cRNA of the exchanger isoform NCX1. The activity of NCX1 was determined as Ni2+-sensitive current under voltage clamp in low Cl– medium and in the presence of the Cl–-channel inhibitor niflumic acid. Only this composition of solution allowed determining NCX1-mediated current with sufficient accuracy. Among a few tested Chinese herbal drugs, glycyrrhizic acid turned out to be a potent inhibitor of NCX1 with an apparent IC50 value of 40 μM. Previous work had revealed elevated cyclophylin A concentration in serum of asthmatic rats after receiving acupuncture treatment. Extracellular incubation of the oocytes in cyclophylin A for one day led to significant inhibition with an apparent IC50 value of about 1 μM. We suggest that effects of acupuncture and application of glycyrrhizic acid as an active constituent of Chinese medicine for treatment of asthma symptoms may partially be attributed to inhibition of the reversed mode of NCX1 and that these compounds may stimulate the search for new anti-asthmatic drugs. 展开更多

A novel hydrothermal zirconium oxide (ZrO2) ion exchange material was successfully synthesized by hydrothermal technique. The material has been characterized using different tools such as thermal analysis (DTA-TGA), FT-IR and X-ray diffraction studies. The results show that the prepared ZrO2 is pure and with a unique shape and it belongs to the hexagonal system. Chemical resistively of the material for various media such as, water, acids and bases have been assessed. The capacity of ZrO2 ion exchanger for Na+, Cu2+, Ni2+ and Zn2+ ions at natural pH has been determined. The effect of heating treatment for ZrO2 on ion exchange capacity was studied. The sorption/ion exchange behaviour of Cu2+, Ni2+ and Zn2+ ions towards ZrO2 in dif-ferent pH media has been investigated. The distribution coefficients and separation factors were determined. Finally, Freundlich isotherms for Cu2+, Zn2+ and Ni2+ ions on hydrothermal ZrO2 ion exchanger were inves-tigated and the Freundlich isotherm constants were conduced. 展开更多

Chemically synthesized cero-antimonate and titanium cero-antimonate prepared by sol-gel technique was conducted for the synthesis of a novel ion exchanger. The prepared materials has been characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, Fourier transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Thermograve-metric analyses. The structures and empirical formula's was identified and found to CeSb4O12?6.19H2O and TiCeSb4O14?12.22H2O, for cero-antiomate and titanium cero-antimonate, respectively. The data obtained from X-ray diffraction was analyzed to define the crystallographic feature of cero-antimonate and titanium cero-antimonate and found both the composites were belong to cubic system with lattice constant 5.15 and 5.149 ?, respectively. The crystallite size and strain of cero-antimonate and titanium cero-antimonate were determined. By using ChemDraw Ultra program the modeling structures of cero-antimonate and titanium cero-antimonate were conducted. Finally, application of the prepared materials for the removal of heavy metals from industrial waste water in terms of capacity measurements was performed. 展开更多

The study examined the adsorption of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solution onto chitosan, chitosan-GLA and chitosan-alginate beads. Several important parameters influencing the adsorption of Pb(II) ions such as initial pH, adsorbent dosage and different initial concentration of Pb(II) ions were evaluated. The mechanism involved during the adsorption process was explored based on ion exchange study and using spectroscopic techniques. The adsorption capacities obtained based on non–linear Langmuir isotherm for chitosan, chitosan-GLA and chitosan-alginate beads in single metal system were 34.98, 14.24 and 60.27 mg/g, respectively. However, the adsorption capacity of Pb(II) ions were reduced in the binary metal system due to the competitive adsorption between Pb(II) and Cu(II) ions. Based on the ion exchange study, the release of Ca2+, Mg2+, K+ and Na+ ions played an important role in the adsorption of Pb(II) ions by all three adsorbents but only at lower concentrations of Pb(II) ions. Infrared spectra showed that the binding between Pb(II) ions and the adsorbents involved mostly the nitrogen and oxygen atoms. All three adsorbents showed satisfactory adsorption capacities and can be considered as an efficient adsorbent for the removal of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solutions. 展开更多

Arc ion plating (AIP) is applied to form Ti/(Ti,Cr)N/CrN multilayer coating on the surface of 316L stainless steel (SS316L) as bipolar plates for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). The characterizations of the coating are analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Interfacial contact resistance (ICR) between the coated sample and carbon paper is 4.9 m Omega cm(2) under 150 N/cm(2), which is much lower than that of the SS316L substrate. Potentiodynamic and potentiostatic tests are performed in the simulated PEMFC working conditions to investigate the corrosion behaviors of the coated sample. Superior anticorrosion performance is observed for the coated sample, whose corrosion current density is 0.12 mu A/cm(2). Surface morphology results after corrosion tests indicate that the substrate is well protected by the multilayer coating. Performances of the single cell with the multilayer coated SS316L bipolar plate are improved significantly compared with that of the cell with the uncoated SS316L bipolar plate, presenting a great potential for PEMFC application.
