Objective:To investigate the recurrence sites, risk factors, and prognosis of patients with persistent or recurrent squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)of the cervix within one year after undergoing concurrent chemoradiotherapy(CCRT).Methods:Clinical data of 30 patients with persistent or recurrent SCC of the cervix within one year after CCRT between July 2006 and July 2011 were analyzed retrospectively. These data were compared with those of 35 SCC cases with no signs of recurrence after complete remission. These 35 patients were treated during the same period(between 2006 and 2011)and selected randomly. Results:Among these 30 patients,25 exhibited distant metastases of which 14 were observed within 6 months after CCRT.Univariate analysis showed higher incidence of pelvic or para-aortic lymphadenectasis and SCC-ag>10 ng/mL in the group with persistent or recurrent disease before treatment(P<0.01).Multivariate analysis by logistic regression revealed that the pre-therapeutic pelvic or para-aortic lymph node enlargement and SCC-ag>10 ng/mL were the independent risk factors.Palliative chemotherapy was the main treatment option for patients with persistent or recurrent disease. The 2-year survival rate was 21.7%,and the median survival time was 17 months. Conclusion:Patients with persistent or recurrent SCC of the cervix after CCRT exhibited a high rate of distant metastasis with poor prognosis. The pre-therapeutic pelvic or para-aortic lymph node enlargement and SCC-ag>10 ng/mL were identified as the independent risk factors for persistent or recurrent SCC within 1 year after CCRT. 展开更多

As a highly invasive carcinoma, esophageal cancer(EC)was the eighth most prevalent malignancy and the sixth leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide in 2020.Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is the major histological subtype of EC,and its incidence and mortality rates are decreasing globally.Due to the lack of specific early symptoms,ESCC patients are usually diagnosed with advanced-stage disease with a poor prognosis, and the incidence and mortality rates are still high in many countries, especially in China. Therefore, enormous challenges still exist in the management of ESCC,and novel strategies are urgently needed to further decrease the incidence and mortality rates of ESCC.Although the key molecular mechanisms underlying ESCC pathogenesis have not been fully elucidated, certain promising biomarkers are being investigated to facilitate clinical decision-making.With the advent and advancement of highthroughput technologies, such as genomics, proteomics and metabolomics, valuable biomarkers with high sensitivity, specificity and stability could be identified for ESCC.Herein,we aimed to determine the epidemiological features of ESCC in different regions of the world, especially in China, and focused on novel molecular biomarkers associated with ESCC screening, early diagnosis and prognosis prediction. 展开更多

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is a malignant epithelial tumor, characterized by squamous cell differentiation,it is the sixth leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally. The increased mortality rate of ESCC patients is predominantly due to the advanced stage of the disease when discovered, coupled with higher risk of metastasis, which is an exceedingly malignant charac-teristic of cancer, frequently leading to a high mortality rate.Unfortunately, there is currently no specific and effective marker to predict and treat metastasis in ESCC.MicroRNAs(miRNAs)are a class of small non-coding RNA molecules, approximately 22 nucleotides in length.miRNAs are vital in modulating gene expression and serve pivotal regulatory roles in the occurrence, progression, and prognosis of cancer. Here,we have examined the literature to highlight the intimate correlations between miRNAs and ESCC metastasis, and show that ESCC metastasis is predominantly regulated or regulated by genetic and epigenetic factors. This review proposes a potential role for miRNAs as diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers for metastasis in ESCC metastasis, with the ultimate aim of reducing the mortality rate among patients with ESCC. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is a deadly malignancy with limited treatment options.Deubiquitinases(DUBs)have been confirmed to play a crucial role in the development of malignant tumors.JOSD2 is a DUB involved in con-trolling protein deubiquitination and influencing critical cellular processes in cancer.AIM To investigate the impact of JOSD2 on the progression of ESCC.METHODS Bioinformatic analyses were employed to explore the expression, prognosis, and enriched pathways associated with JOSD2 in ESCC.Lentiviral transduction was utilized to manipulate JOSD2 expression in ESCC cell lines(KYSE30 and RESULTS )Preliminary research indicated that JOSD2 was highly expressed in ESCC tissues, which was associated with poor prognosis.Further analysis demonstrated that JOSD2 was upregulated in ESCC cell lines compared to normal esophageal cells.JOSD2 knockdown inhibited ESCC cell activity, including proliferation and colony-forming ability.Moreover,JOSD2 knockdown decreased the drug resistance and migration of ESCC cells, while JOSD2 overexpression enhanced these phenotypes. In vivo xenograft assays further confirmed that JOSD2 promoted tumor proliferation and drug resistance in ESCC.Mechanistically,JOSD2 appears to activate the MAPK/ERK and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways.Mass spectrometry was used to identify crucial substrate proteins that interact with JOSD2,which identified the four primary proteins that bind to JOSD2,namely USP47,IGKV2D-29,HSP90AB1,and PRMT5.CONCLUSION JOSD2 plays a crucial role in enhancing the proliferation, migration, and drug resistance of ESCC,suggesting that JOSD2 is a potential therapeutic target in ESCC. 展开更多

Objective:Lung squamous cell carcinoma(LUSC)is associated with a low survival rate.Evidence suggests that bone morphogenetic proteins(BMPs)and their receptors(BMPRs)play crucial roles in tumorigenesis and progression. However,a comprehensive analysis of their role in LUSC is lacking. Our study aimed to explore the relationship between BMPs/BMPRs expression levels and the tumorigenesis and prognosis of LUSC.Methods:The“R/Limma”package was utilized to analyze the differential expression characteristics of BMPs/BMPRs in LUSC,using data from TCGA,GTEx,and GEO databases.Concurrently, the“survminer”packages were employed to investigate their prognostic value and correlation with clinical features in LUSC.The core gene associated with LUSC progression was further explored through weighted gene correlation network analysis(WGCNA).LASSO analysis was conducted to construct a prognostic risk model for LUSC.Clinical specimens were examined by immunohistochemical analysis to confirm the diagnostic value in LUSC.Furthermore, based on the tumor immune estimation resource database and tumor-immune system interaction database, the role of the core gene in the tumor microenvironment of LUSC was explored.Results:GDF10 had a significant correlation only with the pathological T stage of LUSC,and the protein expression level of GDF10 decreased with the tumorigenesis of LUSC.A prognostic risk model was constructed with GDF10 as the core gene and 5 hub genes(HRASLS,HIST1H2BH,FLRT3,CHEK2,and ALPL)for LUSC.GDF10 showed a significant positive correlation with immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoint expression.Conclusion:GDF10 might serve as a diagnostic biomarker reflecting the tumorigenesis of LUSC and regulating the tumor immune microenvironment to guide more effective treatment for LUSC. 展开更多

Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) is the most invasive type of oral malignant tumor, posing a serious threat to human life and health. Its pathogenesis is complex and has a high degree of malignancy. Recurrence and metastasis often lead to poor prognosis. MicroRNAs are a type of single stranded small molecule RNA with only 18 - 25 nucleotides, which can regulate the expression of various genes and participate in the occurrence and development of tumors. Studies have found that microRNA expression profiling can serve as a reliable and stable biological indicator for early diagnosis and prognosis of tumors. Objective:This study used comprehensive bioinformatics analysis and network pharmacology analysis to investigate the potentially relevant mechanisms of Sophora flavescens against cervical squamous cell carcinoma. Methods:Consistently altered genes involved in cervical squamous cell cancerization were analyzed in the GEO database. The chemical ingredients and target genes of Sophora flavescens were explored using the TCMSP database. We obtained the potential therapeutic targets of Sophora flavescens by intersecting the above genesets and validated them in the GEPIA database. The interaction between Sophora flavescens and target genes was predicted by molecular docking.RT-qPCR was used to verify the changes of target genes in HeLa cells treated with Sophora flavescens.Single-gene GSEA functional analysis were performed to determine the molecular mechanisms. Results:Fifteen genes related to the transformation of cervical squamous cell carcinoma were identified, among which AR and ESR1 were confirmed as targets for kaempferol, wighteone, formononetin, and phaseolinon. These compounds are the active ingredients in Sophora flavescens.Low expressions of AR and ESR1 correlate with a poor prognosis, while Sophora flavescens treatment increases the expression of AR and ESR1 in HeLa.GSEA analysis showed that AR and ESR1 mainly participate in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition in cervical squamous cell carcinoma. Conclusion:Sophora flavescens exert anti-tumor effects by targeting AR and ESR1,which may regulate cancer metastasis. 展开更多

Squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)of the scalp is the second most prevalent skin cancer, following basal cell carcinoma.Notably,it has the capability to infiltrate the skull, dura mater, and even brain tissue. The cornerstone of treatment is the surgical removal of the lesion, with a particular focus on the depth of invasion, which is directly correlated with recurrence rates.Post-surgical strategies may involve immediate or delayed cranial bone reconstruction and repair of scalp defects using either artificial dermis or skin grafts. In the case presented,a substantial defect necessitated more than a single flap for primary repair.Hence,a single pedicle double-island flap was designed for reconstructing the occipital area.Due to increased tension on the flap following cranial bone repair, the bone repair was temporarily deferred.Postoperative care included adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy to mitigate the risk of SCC recurrence. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Lung cancer(LC)is a global medical, social and economic problem and is one of the most common cancers and the leading cause of mortality from malignant neoplasms.LC is characterized by an aggressive course, and in the presence of disease recurrence risk factors, patients, even at an early stage, may be indicated for adjuvant therapy to improve survival. However, combined treatment does not always guarantee a favorable prognosis. In this regard, establishing predictors of LC recurrence is highly important both for determining the optimal treatment plan for the patients and for evaluating its effectiveness.AIM To establish predictors of disease recurrence after radical resection and adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with stage IIb-IIIa lung squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC).METHODS A retrospective case-control cohort study included 69 patients with LSCC who underwent radical surgery at the Orenburg Regional Clinical Oncology Center from 2009 to 2018.Postoperatively,all patients received adjuvant chemotherapy.Histological samples of the resected lung were stained with Mayer's hematoxylin and eosin and examined under a light microscope.Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to identify predictors associated with the risk of disease recurrence.Receiver operating characteristic curves were constructed to discriminate between patients with a high risk of disease recurrence and those with a low risk of disease recurrence.Survival was analyzed using the Kaplan-Meier method. The log-rank test was used to compare survival curves between patient subgroups.Differences were considered to be significant at P<0.05.RESULTS The following predictors of a high risk of disease recurrence in patients with stage IIb-IIa LSCC were established:a low degree of tumor differentiation[odds ratio(OR)=7.94,95%CI=1.08-135.81,P=0.049];metastases in regional lymph nodes(OR=5.67,95%CI=1.09-36.54,P=0.048);the presence of loose,fine-fiber connective tissue in the tumor stroma(OR=21.70,95%CI=4.27-110.38,P=0.0002);and fragmentation of the tumor solid component(OR=2.53,95%CI=1.01-12.23,P=0.049).The area under the curve of the predictive model was 0.846(95%CI=0.73-0.96,P<0.0001).The sensitivity, accuracy and specificity of the method were 91.8%,86.9%and 75.0%,respectively.In the group of patients with a low risk of LSCC recurrence, the 1-,2-and 5-year disease-free survival(DFS)rates were 84.2%,84.2%and 75.8%,respectively,while in the group with a high risk of LSCC recurrence the DFS rates were 71.7%,40.1%and 8.2%,respectively(P<0.00001).Accordingly,in the first group of patients, the 1-,2-and 5-year overall survival(OS)rates were 94.7%,82.5%and 82.5%,respectively,while in the second group of patients, the OS rates were 89.8%,80.1%and 10.3%,respectively(P<0.00001).CONCLUSION The developed method allows us to identify a group of patients at high risk of disease recurrence and to adjust to ongoing treatment. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Lung cancer(LC)is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality among malignant neoplasms.Improving the diagnosis and treatment of LC remains an urgent task of modern oncology.Previously,we established that in gastric, breast and cervical cancer, tumor microvessels(MVs)differ in morphology and have different prognostic significance. The connection between different types of tumor MVs and the progression of LC is not well understood.AIM To evaluate the morphological features and clinical significance of tumor MVs in lung squamous cell carcinoma(LUSC).METHODS A single-center retrospective cohort study examined medical records and archival paraffin blocks of 62 and 180 patients with stage I-IIIA LUSC in the training and main cohorts, respectively. All patients underwent radical surgery(R0)at the Orenburg Regional Cancer Clinic from May/20/2009 to December/14/2021.Tumor sections were routinely processed, and routine Mayer's hematoxylin and eosin staining and immunohistochemical staining for cluster of differentiation 34(CD34),podoplanin,Snail and hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha were performed. The morphological features of different types of tumor MVs,tumor parenchyma and stroma were studied according to clinicopathological characteristics and LUSC prognosis.Statistical analysis was performed using Statistica 10.0 software.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify potential risk factors for LUSC metastasis to regional lymph nodes(RLNs)and disease recurrence.Receiver operating characteristic curves were constructed to discriminate between patients with and without metastases in RLNs and those with and without disease recurrence. The effectiveness of the predictive models was assessed by the area under the curve.Survival was analyzed using the Kaplan-Meier method. The log-rank test was used to compare survival curves between patient subgroups.A value of P<0.05 was considered to indicate statistical significance.RESULTS Depending on the morphology,we classified tumor vessels into the following types:normal MVs,dilated capillaries(DCs),atypical DCs,DCs with weak expression of CD34,"contact-type"DCs,structures with partial endothelial linings, capillaries in the tumor solid component and lymphatic vessels in lymphoid and polymorphocellular infiltrates. We also evaluated the presence of loose, fine fibrous connective tissue(LFFCT)and retraction clefts in the tumor stroma, tumor spread into the alveolar air spaces(AASs)and fragmentation of the tumor solid component.According to multivariate analysis, the independent predictors of LUSC metastasis in RLNs were central tumor location(P<0.00001),the presence of retraction clefts(P=0.003),capillaries in the tumor solid component(P=0.023)and fragmentation in the tumor solid component(P=0.009),whereas the independent predictors of LUSC recurrence were tumor grade 3(G3)(P=0.001),stage N2(P=0.016),the presence of LFFCT in the tumor stroma(P<0.00001),fragmentation of the tumor solid component(P=0.0001),and the absence of tumor spread through the AASs(P=0.0083).CONCLUSION The results obtained confirm the correctness of our previously proposed classification of different types of tumor vessels and may contribute to improving the diagnosis and treatment of LUSC. 展开更多

Lymphatic metastasis(LM)emerges as an independent prognostic marker for hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma(HSPSCC),chiefly contributing to treatment inefficacy. This study aimed to scrutinize the prognostic relevance of HSP90AA1 and its potential regulatory mechanism of concerning LM in HPSCC.Methods:In a preceding investigation,HSP90AA1,a differential gene, was discovered through transcriptome sequencing of HPSCC tissues, considering both the presence and absence of LM.Validation of HSP90AA1 expression was accomplished via qRT-PCR,western-blotting(WB),and immunohistochemistry(IHC),while its prognostic significance was assessed employing Kaplan–Meier survival analysis(KMSA),log-rank test(LR),and Cox’s regression analysis(CRA).Bioinformatics techniques facilitated the prediction and analysis of its plausible mechanisms in LM,further substantiated by in vitro and in vivo experiments utilizing FaDu cell lines.Results:HSP90AA1 is substantially upregulated in HPSCC with LM and is identified as an independent prognostic risk determinant. The down-regulation of HSP90AA1 can achieve inhibition of tumor cell proliferation, migration and invasion. Both in vivo experiments and Bioinformatics exploration hint at promoting LM by Epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT),regulated by HSP90AA1.Conclusions:HSP90AA1,by controlling EMT,can foster LM in HPSCC.This finding sets the foundation for delving into new therapeutic targets for HPSCC. 展开更多

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma is the seventh most common cancer worldwide with high mortality rates.Amongst oral cavity cancers, tongue carcinoma is a very common and aggressive oral cavity carcinoma.Despite the implementation of a multimodality treatment regime including surgical intervention,chemo-radiation as well as targeted therapy, tongue carcinoma shows a poor overall 5-year survival pattern, which is attributed to therapy resistance and recurrence of the disease. The presence of a rare population,i.e.,cancer stem cells(CSCs)within the tumor, are involved in therapy resistance, recurrence, and distant metastasis that results in poor survival patterns.Therapeutic agents targeting CSCs have been in clinical trials, although they are unable to reach into therapy stage which is due to their failure in trials.A more detailed understanding of the CSCs is essential for identifying efficient targets.Molecular signaling pathways, which are differentially regulated in the CSCs,are one of the promising targets to manipulate the CSCs that would provide an improved outcome. In this review,we summarize the current understanding of molecular signaling associated with the maintenance and regulation of CSCs in tongue squamous cell carcinoma in order to emphasize the need of the hour to get a deeper understanding to unravel novel targets. 展开更多

Glucocorticoids(GC)are widely used to counter the adverse events during cancer therapy;nonetheless, previous studies pointed out that GC may reduce the efficacy of chemotherapy on cancer cells, especially in epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)-targeted therapy of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)remaining to be elucidated. The primary aim of the present study was to probe into the GC-induced resistance of EGFR-targeted drug afatinib and the underlying mechanism.HNSCC cell lines(HSC-3,SCC-25,SCC-9,and H-400)and the human oral keratinocyte(HOK)cell lines were assessed for GC receptor(GR)expression. The promoting tumor growth effect of GC was evaluated by the CCK-8 assay and flow cytometry.Levels of signaling pathways participants GR,mTOR,and EGFR were determined by quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blotting.GC increased the proliferation of HNSCC cells in a GR-dependent manner and promoted AKT/mTOR signaling. But GC failed in counteracting the inhibition of rapamycin in the mTOR signaling pathway.Besides,GC also induced resistance to EGFR-targeted drug afatinib through AKT/mTOR instead of the EGFR/ERK signaling pathway. Thus,GCs reduce the efficacy of afatinib on HNSCC,implicating a cautious use of glucocorticoids in clinical practice. 展开更多

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is among the most prevalent causes of cancer-related death in patients worldwide.Resistance to immunotherapy and chemotherapy results in worse survival outcomes in ESCC.It is urgent to explore the underlying molecular mechanism of immune evasion and chemoresistance in ESCC.Here,we conducted RNA-sequencing analysis in ten ESCC tissues from cisplatin-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy patients. We found that DMRTA1 was extremely upregulated in the non-pathologic complete response(non-pCR)group.The proliferation rate of esophageal squamous carcinoma cells was markedly decreased after knockdown of DMRTA1 expression, which could increase cisplatin sensitivity in ESCC.Additionally, suppression of DMRTA1 could decrease the immune escape of esophageal squamous carcinoma cells.Further mechanistic studies suggest that DMRTA1 can promote its expression by binding to the promoter of SOX2,which plays important roles in the progression and chemoresistance of ESCC in the form of positive feedback.Therefore,DMRTA1 could be a potential target to suppress immune escape and overcome chemoresistance in ESCC. 展开更多

Objective: To analyze the relationship between TIGIT and clinical features of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma, we use transcriptomic data from the TCGA database, and to investigate the relationship between TIGIT and the immune microenvironment of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma, to provide a basis for improving the treatment strategy and prognosis of patients with Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Methods: RNA sequencing data and clinical data corresponding to cancer tissues were obtained from the TCGA database for Esophageal carcinoma, Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma tissues, and paraneoplastic tissues;then we analyzed the differences in TIGIT expression in Esophageal carcinoma, Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and normal esophageal tissues;then we analyzed the relationship between TIGIT expression levels and overall survival in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma;finally, we explored the relationship between TIGIT expression levels and overall survival in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. We investigated the relationship between TIGIT and the tumor immune microenvironment of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma by tumor immune infiltration and functional enrichment analysis. Results: Our study revealed that TIGIT was highly expressed in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and patients with high TIGIT expression had worse overall survival. We also found a close relationship between TIGIT expression levels and the immune microenvironment of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma, with high TIGIT expression positively correlated with multiple immune cells. Conclusion: Our study demonstrates that TIGIT is associated with Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma malignancy and is closely linked to the immune microenvironment. Furthermore, high expression of TIGIT often predicts poorer clinical features. 展开更多

Objective:Through integrated bioinformatics analysis, the goal of this work was to find new, characterised N7-methylguanosine modification-related long non-coding RNAs(m7G-lncRNAs)that might be used to predict the prognosis of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC).Methods:The clinical data and LSCC gene expression data for the current investigation were initially retrieved from the TCGA database&sanitised. Then, using co-expression analysis of m7G-associated mRNAs&lncRNAs&differential expression analysis(DEA)among LSCC&normal sample categories,we discovered lncRNAs that were connected to m7G.The prognosis prediction model was built for the training category using univariate&multivariate COX regression&LASSO regression analyses,&the model’s efficacy was checked against the test category data.In addition,we conducted DEA of prognostic m7G-lncRNAs among LSCC&normal sample categories&compiled a list of co-expression networks&the structure of prognosis m7G-lncRNAs.To compare the prognoses for individuals with LSCC in the high-&low-risk categories in the prognosis prediction model, survival and risk assessments were also carried out. Finally,we created a nomogram to accurately forecast the outcomes of LSCC patients&created receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves to assess the prognosis prediction model’s predictive capability. Results:Using co-expression network analysis&differential expression analysis,we discovered 774 m7G-lncRNAs and 551 DEm7G-lncRNAs,respectively.We then constructed a prognosis prediction model for six m7G-lncRNAs(FLG−AS1,RHOA−IT1,AC020913.3,AC027307.2,AC010973.2 and AC010789.1),identified 32 DEPm7G-lncRNAs,analyzed the correlation between 32 DEPm7G-lncRNAs and 13 DEPm7G-mRNAs,and performed survival analyses and risk analyses of the prognosis prediction model to assess the prognostic performance of LSCC patients.By displaying ROC curves and a nomogram,we finally checked the prognosis prediction model's accuracy. Conclusion:By creating novel predictive lncRNA signatures for clinical diagnosis&therapy, our findings will contribute to understanding the pathogenetic process of LSCC. 展开更多

Objective Oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)is the most common malignant tumor of the head and neck, but its occurrence and progression mechanisms remain unclear. In addition-there is a lack of effective targeting drugs. The second major subunit of DNA polymerase(POLE2)catalyzes the prolongation of new strand replication and modifies exonuclease domain activity. Our previous study found that POLE2 was associated with OSCC progression, but the mechanism remains unclear. Methods The expression of POLE2 in OSCC tissues was detected using immunological assays.Mann-Whitney U analysis was used to investigate the relationship between POLE2 gene expression and tumor classification and prognosis of OSCC.POLE2 expression was inhibited in OSCC cells, and the effects of gene and protein expression were detected using RT-PCR and Western blotting. The POLE2 knockout model was constructed by transfecting a lentiviral vector.Cell proliferation, apoptosis, and migration were detected using various assays including colony formation,MTT,flow cytometry, wound healing assay,Transwell assay, and the Human Apoptosis Antibody Array. The animal model of OSCC was established by subcutaneous injection of transfected HN6 into 4-week-old female nude mice. After 30 days, tumors were removed under anesthesia and tumor weight and dimension were recorded.Tumor cell proliferation was analyzed using Ki67 staining. Results POLE2 gene levels were significantly higher in the OSCC tissues than in the normal tissues. In addition,POLE2 gene levels were statistically correlated with tumor classification and prognosis.Silencing POLE2 inhibited the proliferation of oral cancer cells and promoted apoptosis in vitro.Animal experiments also supported a positive correlation between POLE2 and OSCC tumor formation. We further demonstrated that POLE2 could upregulate the expression of apoptosis-related proteins such as caspase-3,CD40,CD40L,DR6,Fas,IGFBP-6,p21,and SMAC.In addition,POLE2 regulated OSCC development by inhibiting the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. Conclusion POLE2 is closely related to the progression of OSCC.Thus,POLE2 may be a potential target for OSCC treatment. 展开更多
