An intensive investigation of the temporal varia-tions of δD and δ^18O in precipitation was conducted in 2007-2008 in the Xilin River Basin, Inner Mongolia in the northern China. The 6D and δ^18O values for 54 precipitation samples range from +1.1%o to -34.7%0 and -3.0%0 to -269%0, respectively. This wide range indicates that stable isotopes in precipitation are primarily controlled by differ-ent condensation mechanisms as a function of air temperature and varying sources of vapor. The relationship between δD and δ^18O defined a well constrained line given by δD = 7.896180 + 9.5, which is nearly identical to the Meteoric Water Line in the northern China. The temperature effect is clearly displayed in this area. The results of backward tra-jectory of each precipitation day show that the vapor of the precipitation in cold season (October to March) mainly originates from the west while the moisture source is more complicated in warm season (April to September). A light precipitation amount effect existes at the precipitation event scale in this area. The vapor source of precipitation with higher d-excesses are mainly from the west wind or neighboring inland area and precipitation with lower d-excesses from a monsoon source from the southeastern China.展开更多

In this study, com- bined isotope techniques, root length density and root cell activity analysis were used to investigate the root water uptake mechanisms of winter wheat (Triticum aesfivum L.) under different irrigation depths in the North China Plain. Both direct inference approach and multisource linear mixing model were applied to estimate the distribution of water uptake with depth in six growing stages. Results showed that winter wheat under land surface irrigation treatment (Ts) mainly absorbed water from 10-20 cm soil layers in the wintering and green stages (66.9 and 72.0%, respectively); 0-20 cm (57.0%) in the jointing stage; 0-40 (15.3%) and 80-180 cm (58.1%) in the heading stage; 60-80 (13.2%) and 180-220 cm (35.5%) in the filling stage; and 0-40 (46.8%) and 80-100 cm (31.0%) in the ripening stage. Winter wheat under whole soil layers irrigation treatment (Tw) absorbed more water from deep soil layer than Ts in heading, filling and ripening stages. Moreover, root cell activity and root length density of winter wheat under TW were significantly greater than that of Ts in the three stages. We concluded that distribution of water uptake with depth was affected by the availability of water sources, the root length density and root cell activity. Implementation of the whole soil layers irrigation method can affect root system distribution and thereby increase water use from deeper soil and enhance water use efficiency.展开更多

Therefore, it is vital to understand the relationship be- tween the stable isotopic contents in lake water and the variations of lake level, particularly in Lake Qinghai, China. In this study, we analyzed the variations of isotope compositions (δ18O, 6D and d-excess) in lake water and pre- cipitation by using the samples that were collected from Lake Qinghai region during the period from 2009 to 2012. The results showed that the average isotopic contents of δ18O and 6D in lake water were higher than those in pre- cipitation, which were contrary to the variations of d-excess. The linear regression correlations between δ18O and 6D in lake water and precipitation showed that the local evaporative line (LEL) in lake water (δD=5.88δ18O-2.41) deviated significantly from the local meteoric water line (LMWL)in precipitation (δD=8.26δ18O+16.91), indicating that evaporative enrichment had a significant impact on isotopic contents in lake water. Moreover, we also quanti- fied the Eli ratio (evaporation-to-input ratio) in Lake Qinghai based on the lake water isotopic enrichment model derived from the Rayleigh equation. The changes of E/I ratios (ranging from 0.29 to 0.36 between 2009 and 2012) clearly revealed the shifts of lake levels in Lake Qinghai in recent years. The average E/I ratio of 0.40 reflected that water budget in Lake Qinghai was positive, and consistent with the rising lake levels and the increasing lake areas in many lakes of the Tibetan Plateau. These findings provide some evidences for studying the hydrological balance or water budget by using δ18O values of lake sedimentary materials and contribute to the reconstruction of paleo- lake water level and paleoclimate from an isotopic enrichment model in Lake Qinghai.展开更多

The results showed that the isotopic composition of precipitation in the Qilianshan Station in the Laohugou Glacial catchment was remarkable variability. Correspondingly, a higher slope of δ180-δD diagram, with an average of 8.74, is obtained based on the precipitation samples collected on the Glacier No.la, mainly attributed to the lower temperature on the glacier surface. Because of percolation and elution, the bottom of the firn the isotopic composition at is nearly steady. The 6180 /altitude gradients for precipitation and melt water were -o.37%o/100 m and -o.34%o/100 m, respectively Exposed to the air and influenced by strong ablation and evaporation, the isotopic values and the 6180 vs 6D diagram of the glacial surface ice show no altitudinal effect, indicating that glacier ice has the similar origins with the firn. The variation of isotopic composition in the melt water, varying from -l0.7‰ to -16.9‰ (8180) and from -61.1%o to -122.1%o (6D) indicates the recharging of snowmelt and glacial ice melt water produced at different altitudes. With a mean value of -13.3‰ for 8180 and -89.7‰ for 8D, the isotopic composition of the stream water is much closer to the melt water, indicating that stream water is mainly recharged by the ablation water. Our results of the stable isotopic compositions in natural water in the Laohugou Glacial catchment indicate the fractionations and the smoothing fluctuations of the stable isotopes during evaporation, infiltration and mixture.展开更多

Analyzing results of the samples showed the expected linear relationship between the parameters ?D and ?18O with slope S1 and intercept d1. When the data set was examined using a sliding window with a width of 5 samples, it was found that there were two areas with different ratios of S1 and d1. The boundary between these two areas occurred at an elevation of about 2,000 m, suggesting two different sources of water vapour. Nearly half (47%) of the fresh-snow samples had negative deuterium excess (d=?D? 8?18O) values, but few of the snow pit samples did, suggesting that variations of ? are quickly smoothed by isotopic diffusion in the near-surface firn. Analysis of the phase relationship between ?D and deuterium excess in the snow pit stratigraphies showed that they were mostly in phase from Jan. 1994 to Sept. 1995, but mostly out of phase from Sept. 1995 to Jan. 1997.展开更多

In light with the thickness of annual layers the authors reconstruct the climatic variation history of the last 2300 years in Beijing area. The climatic patterns seems to reappear irregularly on millennium to decade scales in the last 1000 years. The stable isotopic sequence interprets that the climate and environment in Beijing could be separated into two stages in the late Holocene: the monsoon was strong and the environment was wet in the former stage and in the latter stage the monsoon was weak and the environment was dry. The annual layers and oxygen isotope could be taken as natural signals and carbon isotope as a comprehensive signal containing the natural information and the information of anthropogenic activity.展开更多

However, a basic text book is lacking in current literature, available information being either somewhat outdated (e,g. Roedder, 1984) or scattered in multi-author "short course", mainly organized by the Mineralogical Societies of Canada, America or Europe. A result is that basic features of fluid inclusion studies, notably its key technique, microthermometry, and recently supplemented by micro Raman of infrared spectroscopy, is rarely taught in most universities, leaving the student alone to discover a field of study which has grown to the dimensions of a major science.展开更多

During malaria, changes in fluid volume are rather multifarious and estimating this parameter, especially in sick children is very challenging for clinicians who frequently rely on indices such as long capillary refill times, tachycardia, central venous pressure and decreased urine volume as guides. Here, we present the UHAS-MIDA, an open-source software tool that calculates the red blood cell (RBC) concentration and blood volume during malaria in children determined using a stable isotope of chromium (53Cr as the label) by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry in selective ion monitoring (GC/MS-SIM) analysis. A key component involves the determination of the compositions of the most abundant naturally occurring isotopes of Cr (50Cr, 52Cr, 53Cr), and converting the proportions into a 3 × 3 matrix. To estimate unknown proportions of chromium isotopic mixtures from the measured abundances of three ions, an inverse matrix was calculated. The inverse together with several inputs is then used to calculate the corrected MS ion abundances. Thus, we constructed the software tool UHAS- MIDA using HTML, CSS/Bootstrap, JavaScript, and PHP scripting languages. The tool enables the user to efficiently determine RBC concentration and fluid volume. The source code, binary packages and associated materials for UHAS-MIDA are freely available at https://github.com/bentil078/Abaye-et-al_UHASmida展开更多

文摘ZiZiphus jujuba, which is native to China, has become one of the main crops widely planted in the western Loess Plateau because of its drought and flood-tolerance,adaptability,and higher nutritional value of the fruit. The irrigation water infiltration in Z.jujuba gardens is complex, and understanding its mechanisms is essential for efficient water use and sustainable agriculture. This knowledge helps ensure the long-term success of jujuba cultivation. This paper describes a field experiment that investigates the infiltration process of irrigation water from Z.jujuba garden and quantifies the contribution of irrigation water to soil water at different depths using the MixSIAR model.According to the FC(Field water holding Capacity)of Z.jujuba, irrigation experiments with three volumes of 80%FC,60%FC,and 40%FC are set up in this study. The study finds that water retention is better in Z.jujuba garden soils with a higher proportion of coarse gravel in the soil particle composition.Soil water content exhibits a gradient change after irrigation, with deeper wetting front transport depth observed with increased irrigation water.Additionally, there is correlation between soil temperature and soil water content. The soil water in Z.jujuba garden generally exhibits a preferential flow signal in the 0-40 cm range.Below 40 cm,a piston flow pattern dominates. The rate of soil water infiltration increases with the amount of irrigation water. In the 0-40 cm range of the soil vertical profile, irrigation water was the main contributor to soil water.Z.jujuba demonstrated flexibility in water uptake, primarily absorbing soil water at depths of 0-40 cm.For optimal growth of Z.jujuba at this stage,40%FC irrigation is recommended. The results are expected to be valuable future irrigation practices and land use planning for Z.jujuba garden in arid zones, supporting sustainable agricultural development and water management.
文摘Background, aim, and scope Stable isotope in water could respond sensitively to the variation of environment and be reserved in different geological archives, although they are scarce in the environment. And the methods derived from the stable isotope composition of water have been widely applied in researches on hydrometeorology, weather diagnosis, and paleoclimate reconstruction, which help well for understanding the water-cycle processes in one region. Here,it is aimed to explore the temporal changes of stable isotopes in precipitation from Adelaide,Australia and determine the influencing factors at different timescales.Materials and methods Based on the isotopic data of daily precipitation over four years collected in Adelaide,Australia, the variation characteristics of dailyδD,δ^(18)O,and dexcess in precipitation and its relationship with meteorological elements were analyzed. Results The results demonstrated the local meteoric water line(LMWL)in Adelaide,wasδD=6.38×δ^(18)O+6.68,with a gradient less than 8.There is a significant negative correlation between dailyδ^(18)O and precipitation amount or relative humidity at daily timescales in both the whole year and wither/summerhalf year(p<0.001),but a significant positive correlation between dailyδ^(18)O and temperature in the whole year and the winter half-year(p<0.001).Discussion The correlation coefficients betweenδ^(18)O and daily mean temperature didn’t show a significant positive correlation, which may be attributed to that the precipitation in Adelaide area in January was mainly influenced by strong convective weather, and the stable isotope values in precipitation were significantly negative.Furthermore, this propose was also evidenced by the results from dexcess of precipitation with larger value in the winter half-year than that in the summer half-year,which may be resulted from the precipitation events in winter are mostly influenced by oceanic water vapor, while the sources of water vapor in summer precipitation events are more complicated and influenced by strong convective weather. On the other hand, the slope and intercept of theδ^(18)O—P regression lines in the summer months(-0.41 and 0.50‰)are larger and smaller than those in the winter months(-0.22 and-2.15‰),respectively,indicating that the precipitation stable isotopes have a relatively stronger rainout effect in the summer months than in the winter months.Besides, the measured values ofδ^(18)O in daily precipitation have a good linear relationship with our simulated values ofδ^(18)O,demonstrating the established regression model could provide a reliable simulation for theδ^(18)O values in daily precipitation in Adelaide area. It’s worth noting that the precipitation events with low precipitation amount, low relative humidity and high temperature, usually had relatively small slope and intercept of MWL,implying that raindrops may be strongly affected by sub-cloud secondary evaporation in the falling process. Conclusions The variation ofδ^(18)O in daily precipitation from Adelaide region was controlled by different factors at different timescales. And the water vapor sources and the meteorological conditions of precipitation events(such as the degree of sub-cloud secondary evaporation)also played an important role on the variation ofδ^(18)O.Recommendations and perspectives Stable isotope in daily precipitation can provide more accurate information about water-cycle and atmosphere circulation,it is therefore necessary to continue to collect and analyze daily-scale precipitation data over a longer time span. The results of this study will provide the basis for the fields of hydrometeorology, meteorological diagnosis and paleoclimate reconstruction in Adelaide,Australia.

文摘Globally, groundwater contamination by nitrate is one of the most widespread environmental problems, particularly in arid and semiarid areas, which are characterized by low amounts of rainfall and groundwater recharge. The stable isotope composition of groundwater(δ2H-H2O andδ18O-H2O)and dissolved nitrate(δ15N-NO3–andδ18O-NO3–)and factor analysis(FA)were applied to explore groundwater provenance, pollution, and chemistry evolution in the northwestern part of the Amman-Al Zarqa Basin,Jordan. In this study,we collected 23 samples from the Lower Ajloun aquifer in 2021,including 1 sample from a groundwater well and 22 samples from springs. These samples were tested for electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids,pH,temperature, dissolved oxygen, the concentration of major ions(Ca2+,Mg2+,Na+,K+,HCO3–,Cl–,SO42–,and NO3–),and the stable isotope composition of groundwater and dissolved nitrate. The results revealed that groundwater in the study area is mainly Ca–Mg–HCO3 type and can be classified as fresh water, hard water, and very hard water. The range and average concentration of NO3–were 3.5–230.8 and 50.9 mg/L,respectively.Approximately 33%of the sampling points showed NO3–levels above the maximum allowable concentration of 50.0 mg/L set by the World Health Organization(WHO)guidelines for drinking water quality. The values ofδ18O-H2O andδ2H-H2O showed that groundwater in the study area is part of the current water cycle, originating in the Mediterranean Sea,with significant evaporation, orographic, and amount effects. The values of the stable isotope composition of NO3–corresponded toδ15N-NO3–andδ18O-NO3–values produced by the nitrification process of manure or septic waste and soil NH4+.The FA performed on the hydrochemical parameters and isotope data resulted in three main factors, with Factor 1,Factor 2,and Factor 3,accounting for 50%,21%,and 11%of the total variance, respectively.Factor 1 was considered human-induced factor, named"pollution factor",whereas Factor 2,named"conservative fingerprint factor",and Factor 3,named"hardness factor",were considered natural factors. This study will help local researchers manage groundwater sustainably in the study area and other similar arid and semiarid areas in the world.
文摘The thermal diffusion column represents one method of separating stable isotopes. This method is advantageous for smallscale operations because of the simplicity of the apparatus and small inventory, especially in gas-phase operations.Consequently,it has attracted attention for its applicability in tritium and noble gas separation systems. In this study, the R cascade was used to design and determine the number of columns.A square cascade was adopted for the final design because of its flexibility, and calculations were performed to separate 20Ne and 22Ne isotopes. All the R cascades that enriched the Ne isotopes by more than 99%were investigated, the number of columns was determined, and the square cascade parameters were optimized using the specified columns.Additionally,a calculation code“RSQ_CASCADE”was developed.A unit separation factor of three was considered, and the number of studied stages ranged from 10 to 20.The results showed that the column separation power, relative total flow rate, and required number of columns were linearly related to the number of stages. The separation power and relative total flow decreased and the number of columns increased as the stage number increased. Therefore,a cascade of 85 columns is recommended to separate the stable Ne isotopes. These calculations yielded a 17-stage square cascade with five columns in each stage.By changing the stage cut, feed point, and cascade feed flow rate, the best parameters for the square cascade were determined according to the cascade and column separation powers. As the column separation power had a maximum value in cascade feed 50,it was selected for separating Ne isotopes.

文摘The Panzhihua intrusion in southwest China is part of the Emeishan Large Igneous Province and host of a large Fe-Ti-V ore deposit.During emplacement of the main intrusion, multiple generations of mafic dykes invaded carbonate wall rocks, producing a large contact aureole. We measured the oxygen-isotope composition of the intrusions, their constituent minerals, and samples of the country rock.Magnetite and plagioclase from Panzhihua intrusion haveδ18O values that are consistent with magmatic equilibrium, and formed from magmas withδ18O values that were 1-2‰higher than expected in a mantle-derived magma. The unmetamorphosed country rock has highδ18O values, ranging from 13.2‰(sandstone) to 24.6-28.6‰(dolomite).The skarns and marbles from the aureole have lowerδ18O andδ13C values than their protolith suggesting interaction with fluids that were in exchange equilibrium with the adjacent mafic magmas and especially the numerous mafic dykes that intruded the aureole. This would explain the alteration ofδ18O of the dykes which have significantly higher values than expected for a mantle-derived magma.Depending on the exactδ18O values assumed for the magma and contaminant, the amount of assimilation required to produce the elevatedδ18O value of the Panzhihua intrusion was between 8 and 13.7 wt.%,assuming simple mixing. The exact mechanism of contamination is unclear but may involve a combination of assimilation of bulk country rock, mixing with a melt of the country rock and exchange with CO2-rich fluid derived from decarbonation of the marls and dolomites. These mechanisms, particularly the latter, were probably involved in the formation of the Fe-Ti-V ores.

文摘Under the increasing pressure of water shortage and steppe degradation, information on the hydrological cycle in steppe region in Inner Mongolia, China is urgently needed. The vapor source of precipitation with higher d-excesses are mainly from the west wind or neighboring inland area and precipitation with lower d-excesses from a monsoon source from the southeastern China.

文摘Crop root system plays an important role in the water cycle of the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum. Implementation of the whole soil layers irrigation method can affect root system distribution and thereby increase water use from deeper soil and enhance water use efficiency.

文摘Stable isotopic compositions (δ18O and 6D) have been utilized as a useful indicator for evaluating the current and historical climatic and environmental changes. These findings provide some evidences for studying the hydrological balance or water budget by using δ18O values of lake sedimentary materials and contribute to the reconstruction of paleo- lake water level and paleoclimate from an isotopic enrichment model in Lake Qinghai.

文摘To evaluate isotopic tracers at natural abundances by providing basic isotope data of the hydrological investigations and assessing the impacts of different factors on the water cycle, a total of 197 water samples were collected from the Laohugou Glacial catchment in the Shule River basin northwestern China during the 2013 ablation seasons and analyzed their H- and O-isotope composition. Our results of the stable isotopic compositions in natural water in the Laohugou Glacial catchment indicate the fractionations and the smoothing fluctuations of the stable isotopes during evaporation, infiltration and mixture.

文摘The estuary-bay system is a common and complex coastal environment. However, quantifying submarine groundwater discharge(SGD)and associated nutrient fluxes in the complex coastal environment is challenging due to more dynamic and complicated riverine discharge, ocean processes and human activities. In this study,SGD and SFGD(submarine fresh groundwater discharge)fluxes were evaluated by combining stable and radium isotopes in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA),a typical estuary-bay system. We first built a spatially distributed radium mass balance model to quantify SGD fluxes in coastal areas of GBA integrating the Pearl River Estuary(PRE),bays and shelf. We then used the stable water isotope(d2 H and d18O)end-member mixing model to distinguish submarine fresh groundwater discharge(SFGD)from SGD.Based on the 228Ra mass balance, the estimated SGD fluxes in the PRE,adjacent bay,and shelf areas were(6.14±2.74)×10^(8) m^(3) d^(-1),(3.00±1.11)×10^(7) m^(3) d^(-1),and(5.00±5.64)×10^(8) m^(3) d^(-1),respectively.Results showed that the largest area-averaged SGD was in the PRE,followed by that in the adjacent shelf and the bay. These differences may be mainly influenced by ocean forces, urbanization and benthic topographies controlling the variability of groundwater pathways.Further, the three end-member mixing model of ^(228)Ra and salinity was developed to confirm the validity of the estimated SGD using the Ra mass balance model. In the two models, groundwater endmember and water apparent age estimation were the main sources of uncertainty in SGD.The estimated SFGD flux was(1.39±0.76)108 m^(3) d^(-1),which accounted for approximately 12%of the total SGD.Combining stable and radium isotopes was a useful method to estimate groundwater discharge. Moreover, the estimated SGD associated dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN)flux was one order of magnitude higher than other DIN sources.SGD was considered to be a significant contributor to the DIN loading to the GBA.The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable information on coastal groundwater management and environmental protection of the GBA and similar coastal areas elsewhere.

文摘The variations of stable water isotopes of surface snow in east Antarctic Ice Sheet, are discussed by a total of 251 samples, which were taken along a 330 km traverse from Zhongshan Station to the outer edge of the Antarctic plateau and from four snow pits excavated along the route. 1997.

文摘In order to cope with drought and water shortages, the working people in the arid areas of Northwest China have developed a drought-resistant planting method,namely,gravel-sand mulching, after long-term agricultural practices. To understand the effects of gravel-sand mulching on soil water evaporation,we selected Baifeng peach(Amygdalus persica L.)orchards in Northwest China as the experimental field in 2021.Based on continuously collected soil water stable isotopes data,we evaluated the soil evaporation loss rate in a gravel-sand mulching environment using the line-conditioned excess(lc-excess)coupled Rayleigh fractionation model and Craig-Gordon model. The results show that the average soil water content in the plots with gravel-sand mulching is 1.86%higher than that without gravel-sand mulching. The monthly variation of the soil water content is smaller in the plots with gravel-sand mulching than that without gravel-sand mulching. Moreover, the average lc-excess value in the plots without gravel-sand mulching is smaller. In addition, the soil evaporation loss rate in the plots with gravel-sand mulching is lower than that in the plots without gravel-sand mulching. The lc-excess value was negative for both the plots with and without gravel-sand mulching, and it has good correlation with relative humidity, average temperature, input water content, and soil water content. The effect of gravel-sand mulching on soil evaporation is most prominent in August.Compared with the evaporation data of similar environments in the literature, the lc-excess coupled Rayleigh fractionation model is better.Stable isotopes evidence shows that gravel-sand mulching can effectively reduce soil water evaporation, which provides a theoretical basis for agricultural water management and optimization of water-saving methods in arid areas.
文摘In this paper the authors report a preliminary study on a Holocene stalagmite from Shihua Cave in Southwest Beijing. The result shows that the thickness of annual growth layers which is defined by annual deposit hiatuses preserve changes with precipitation. The annual layers and oxygen isotope could be taken as natural signals and carbon isotope as a comprehensive signal containing the natural information and the information of anthropogenic activity.
文摘Fluid (and melt) inclusion studies have shown a marked devel- opment in the last decades, as indicated by the increasing number of papers and as covered under major themes in specialized meetings (e.g. ECROFI in Europe, PACROFI in America, ACROFI in Asia). However, a basic text book is lacking in current literature, available information being either somewhat outdated (e,g. Roedder, 1984) or scattered in multi-author "short course", mainly organized by the Mineralogical Societies of Canada, America or Europe. A result is that basic features of fluid inclusion studies, notably its key technique, microthermometry, and recently supplemented by micro Raman of infrared spectroscopy, is rarely taught in most universities, leaving the student alone to discover a field of study which has grown to the dimensions of a major science.

文摘The Xiajinbao gold deposit is located in Yong’an-Xiayingfang-Maojiagou polymetallic metallogenic belt, which is animportant metallogenic belt in North China block. In this paper,we present a detailed study on fluid inclusions and stable isotopes ofthe Xiajinbao gold deposit,Hebei Province,China, aiming at discussing the ore source, evolution of ore-forming fluid andore-forming mechanism of the deposit. The macroscopic geological characteristics,S and Pb isotopic analysis results show that thesource of ore-forming materials is mainly from granitic magma, and subordinately from country rocks.H and O isotopic compositionfeatures indicate that the ore-forming fluid is mainly derived from magmatic water.Fluid inclusion characteristics show that theore-forming fluid experienced boiling during the early mineralization stage, which led to the precipitation of gold.Fluid mixingdominated the precipitation of the ore-forming materials during the middle and late stages. The gold precipitation was caused bywater/rock reaction throughout the whole ore-forming process.

文摘The Huayuan Pb-Zn ore district in China, located in western Hunan Province,is a giant carbonate-hosted Pb-Zn ore district. The source of ore-forming brines in this ore district remains poorly constrained.Whether the highly saline brines are derived from evaporated seawater or dissolved evaporates continues to be intensely debated.Carbonate minerals associated with Pb-Zn mineralization haveδ^(13)CV-PDB andδ^(18)OV-SMOW values ranging from−5.55‰to+1.35‰(mean value of−0.69‰;n=14)and+16.28‰to+25.05‰(mean value of+20.22‰;n=14),respectively.This indicates that carbonate minerals are dominantly formed from dissolved ore-hosted carbonate rocks.Theδ^(34)S values of sulfides range from+20.2‰to+36.8‰,with an average value of+30.0‰(n=27).These results suggest that sulfur is predominantly derived from the thermochemical sulfate reduction of marine sulfate. The crush-leach analyzed solute data of fluid inclusions in sphalerite show the ore-forming fluids have Cl/Br molar ratios range from 118 to 384,and Na/Br molar ratios from 39 to 160(n=8).These Cl/Br ratios of hydrothermal fluid are much lower than those of seawater(657 to 564),but are consistent with bittern brines through early halite precipitation. We propose that ore-forming fluids are mainly derived from evaporitic basin brines, which leached base metals from the basement and/or country rocks. The brine then migrated to the basin margins through clastic rocks of basement and then precipitated sulfides by thermochemical sulfate reduction.

文摘Water stable isotopes(δ^(2) H andδ^(18)O)can record surface water evaporation, which is an important hydrological process for understanding watershed structure and function evolution. However, the isotopic estimation of water evaporation losses in the mountain watersheds remains poorly explored, which hinders understanding spatial variations of hydrological processes and their relationships with the temperature and vegetation. Here we investigatedδ^(2) H,δ^(18)O,and d-excess values of stream water along an altitude gradient of 2130 to 3380 m in Guan’egou mountain watershed at the east edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China. The meanδ^(2) H(-69.6‰±2.6‰),δ^(18)O(-10.7‰±0.3‰),and dexcess values(16.0‰±1.4‰)of stream water indicate the inland moisture as the major source of precipitation in study area.Water stable isotopes increase linearly with decreasing altitudes, based on which we estimated the fractions of water evaporation losses along with the altitude and their variations in different vegetations. This study provides an isotopic evaluation method of water evaporation status in mountain watersheds, the results are useful for further understanding the relationship between hydrological processes and ecosystem function under the changing climate surrounding the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

文摘Studying spatial and temporal characteristics of regional groundwater recharge will guide the scientific management and sustainable development of regional water resources. This study investigated stable isotopes(δ^(18)O and δ^(2) H)of precipitation, groundwater, river water and lake water during 2019-2020 in Qinghai Lake Basin to reveal the spatial and temporal characteristics of groundwater recharge. The local meteoric water line was simulated using ordinary least squares regression(δ^(2) H=7.80δ^(18)O+10.60).The local evaporation lines of the river water, lake water and groundwater were simulated asδ^(2) H=6.21δ^(18)O-0.72,δ^(2) H=5.73δ0-3.60 and δ^(2) H=6.59δ0+1.76,respectively.The δ^(2) H and δ^(18)O of river water and groundwater were in more depleted values due to the recharge by precipitation at high altitudes or precipitation effects, and theδ^(2) H andδ^(18)O of the lake water were in more enriched values because of evaporation. The relationship between the δ^(2) H and δ^(18)O of groundwater and river water was not significantly different, indicating a strong hydrological connection between the groundwater and river water surrounding Qinghai Lake.Additionally, the maximum values of δ^(18)O and the minimum values of lc-excess of groundwater in most regions were both in August, and the minimum values of δ^(18)O and the maximum values of lc-excess of groundwater in most regions were both in October. Therefore, the groundwater was recharged by soil water with strong evaporation in August and recharged by precipitation at high altitudes in October. The recharge rate of groundwater was relatively fast in areas with large slopes and large hydraulic gradients(e.g.,south of Qinghai Lake),and in areas with strong hydrological connections between the groundwater and river water(e.g.,the Buha River Valley). Those results can provide data support for protection and utilization of water resources in Qinghai Lake Basin, and provide reference for groundwater research in closed lake basins on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
文摘Clinical assessment of fluid volume status in children during malaria can be taxing and often inaccurate.
