Based on the resident population statistics data of Henan province from 2006 to 2021, with county as the basic study unit, the paper studies the spatial morphology characteristics and its evolution patterns of resident population distribution, by using spatial analysis methods such as population distribution center, standard deviation ellipse, and spatial auto correlation analysis. The results show that: the resident population spatial distribution shows unbalanced state, the population agglomeration areas mainly distribute in the northeast part and north part, where the resident population growth rate is significantly higher than other regions, over time, this trend is gradually becoming significant. The resident population distribution has a trend of centripetal concentration, with the degree and trend of centripetal gradually strengthening. The resident population distribution has obvious directional characteristics, but the significance is not high, the weighted resident population average center is approximately located at (4.13740˚N, 113.8935˚E), and the azimuth of the distribution axis is approximately 11.19˚. The population distribution has obvious agglomeration characteristics, with the built-up areas of Zhengzhou and Luoyang as their centers, where have a significant siphon effect on the surrounding population. The southern and southwestern regions in the province form a relatively stable belt area of Low-Low agglomeration areas.展开更多

Overall scores were compared across programs, and for subscales(autonomy, teaching, and social Support), using chi-squared, t-tests, and analysis of variance.RESULTS: A total of 219 surveys were returned for 260 residents across six programs(3 SA, 3 USA), with a response rate of 84%. Program-specific response rates varied from 79%–100%. All six residencies were qualitatively rated as "more positive than negative but room for improvement". Quantitative PHEEM scores for the USA programs were significantly higher: 118.7 compared to 109.9 for SA, P=0.001. In subscales, perceptions of social support were not different between the two countries(P=0.243); however, role autonomy(P<0.001) and teaching(P=0.005) were better in USA programs. There were no significant differences by post-graduate training year.CONCLUSION: EM residents in all three emergency medicine residency programs in SA and the three USA programs studied perceive their training as high quality in general, but with room for improvements. USA residency programs scored higher in overall quality. This was driven by more favorable perceptions of role autonomy and teaching. Understanding how residents perceive their programs may help drive targeted quality improvement efforts.展开更多

Methods: Learning was measured by comparing residents’ communication skills in a simulated consultation before and after a communication skills training. Communication skills were transcribed and tagged with a computer-assisted program. Potential variables associated with learning (residents’ characteristics, contextual characteristics and pre-training communication skills) were measured before the training and entered in regression analysis. Results: Fifty-six residents followed the training between 2002 and 2006. Poor pre-training assessment and supportive skills predicted the respective learning of these skills. Better assessment skills’ learning was predicted by copings (i.e. lower level of emotional coping), lower levels of self-efficacy and depersonalization. Better supportive skills’ learning was predicted by a lower work experience and associated with a higher training attendance rate. Conclusions: Predictors and correlates of assessment and supportive skills learning were different. Trainers needed to detect certain residents’ characteristics (i.e. depersonalization) in order to optimize assessment skills learning. Trainers needed to be aware that supportive skills are difficult to learn and to teach and may need more training hours.展开更多

It is important to continuously evaluate how residents are being taught in order to improve, and to maximize didactic time while improving standardized test scores. The aim of this study is to assess how residents prefer to learn, which factors preclude residents from studying, the prevalence of certain teaching methods at our institutions, and how this affects standardized exam scores. In order to gather this data, residents across the three Mayo Clinic campuses were anonymously surveyed regarding their preferred study habits, factors that affect their ability to study, how they are most frequently taught within their program, and their most recent in training exam (ITE) scores. Residents are frequently encountering didactic lessons that are consistent with their preferred study methods. However, there seems to be a number of preferred study methods that may not be represented by standard didactic sessions. There are many other factors that affect a resident’s ability to study and those should be taken into consideration by the department when deciding how to teach their residents.展开更多

In st...Because of the massive expansion in enrollment, the number of graduates from law schools across the country is unprecedented, but the rate of unemployment is also unprecedented in comparison with the graduation. In stark contrast, many employees are finding it difficult to find graduates of talent fitting directly to working requirements. The traditional mode of education is to cultivate students with legal research abilities, but the main social need calls for graduates who are prepared to practice, which has caused the low employment. As a result, the graduates' failure to meet the social demand caused serious imbalance between supply and demand. The characteristic of legal practice skills is to solve practical problems through the practice of adapting legal knowledge, but practical skill training in law school education now is basically nonexistent. The training of legal practice skills must be conducted through aspects of course design, and therefore teaching methods necessitate comprehensive reformation. The practice skills of the legal profession, such as basic literacy, basic skills, and work skills, are indispensable to the education of students. Educating them to attain these skills will aid them directly in practical work after graduation, improve their work quality and employment rate, and consequently improve the whole overall quality of the legal profession.展开更多

Understanding how residents perceive their programs may help drive targeted quality improvement efforts.
文摘Objectives:Pressure ulcer(PU)is one of the most common problem among the bedridden elderly and has significantly more burden on elderly and caregivers. This study is aimed to evaluate the effects of the training program for caregivers to prevent PUs among elderly residents at geriatric homes. Methods:A quasi-experimental design was used to carry out the current study.A purposive sample comprised of all formal(39 nurses)or informal caregivers(39)and all immobilized elderly residents(35)who are found in all geriatric centers in Helwan district.A structured questionnaire was used to assess caregivers’socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge, attitude, and observational checklists for their practice for prevention of PU at pre-and posttest and during follow-up.Results:After the training program, there were improvements in the level of knowledge, practice, and positive attitude of caregivers about PU prevention with a statistically significant difference between pre-,post-,and follow-up training programs(P<0.001).Conclusions:The study revealed that the training program seemed to change the knowledge, practice, and attitude of the subjects to PU prevention. This,in turn, implies that adequate knowledge affects directly the elderly caregivers’attitudes as well as practice for prevention could be important in reducing the burden of PU among the elderly. Thus, conducting a training program for caregivers at different geriatric homes about caring skills for elders can prevent PU,and using spontaneous reposition is very effective to prevent PUs.

文摘As an important part of postgraduate education,Standard Resident Training(STR)plays a crucial role in the process of culturing a competent dental care provider who can independently treat the common oral infectious diseases.A systematic and comprehensive evaluation system is desiderating for realization of high-quality Endodontics resident training due to its discipline characteristics of highly specialized and strict operation. This paper analyzes the current status of resident training in our Endodontic Department and discusses how to improve the clinical skills and reasoning ability of residents,in order to construct a comprehensive resident training formative evaluation system in China.
文摘Objective: This study aimed to determine variables associated (predictors and correlates) with the learning of assessment and supportive skills in the context of a communication skills training for medical residents. Trainers needed to be aware that supportive skills are difficult to learn and to teach and may need more training hours.
文摘Unlike other surgical residency training programs including thoracic surgery, robotic cardiac surgery skilltraining is minimal or absent in residency curricula. A review was conducted to identify residents'exposure to robotic cardiac surgery training based on databases including PubMed, MEDLINE and GoogleScholar. Published papers and cardiothoracic surgical societies with robotic cardiac surgery trainingcourses were reviewed. Robotic cardiac surgery training for residents is almost non-existent. Strategies toestablish proper robotic cardiac surgical training for residents include implementing simulation training, implementing hour requirements and establishing wet/dry lab model training in a progressive fashion. As robot-assisted cardiac surgery becomes increasingly commonplace, it will be imperative to providetraining for residents with dedicated opportunities to develop their skills in robotic cardiac surgery.

文摘Objective:To explore the application effect of remote ultrasound teaching in the standardized training of residents.Methods:42 students who participated in the standardized residency training in the Department of Ultrasonography of our hospital from August 2022 to August 2023 were selected and divided into the control group(n=21)and the observation group(n=21)by using the random number table method. The control group was taught routinely, and the observation group was taught with remote ultrasound on the basis of the control group. The general data, teaching effect, ultrasound diagnostic compliance rate, and teaching satisfaction of the participants in the two groups were observed. Results:The baseline data of the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05);the theoretical and practical assessment scores of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group(t=2.491,t=2.434,P=0.05);the ultrasound diagnostic compliance rate of the participants in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(78.33%)(χ2=33.574,P=0.000<0.001);the overall satisfaction rate of students in the observation group(20/95.24%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(14/66.67%)(χ2=3.860,P=0.049<0.05).Conclusion:In standardized residency training, remote ultrasound teaching can effectively improve the comprehensive ability of students, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and improve students’teaching satisfaction.
文摘Medical education is in constant evolution. There are many other factors that affect a resident’s ability to study and those should be taken into consideration by the department when deciding how to teach their residents.
文摘BACKGROUND Acute pancreatitis(AP)is a common inflammatory disease of the pancreas with high mortality rates. It is of great significance to take scientific intervention measures for patients with AP in time.AIM To explore the effect of standardized nursing combined with mindfulness stress reduction training on the curative effect, negative emotion, and quality of life in patients with acute pancreatitis.METHODS A total of 80 patients with acute pancreatitis admitted to The First People's Hospital of Jiangxia District Hospital from May 2021 to May 2023 were randomly divided into control group and observation group(n=40).Patients in control group were given the standardized nursing intervention, and the observation group were given standardized nursing plus mindfulness stress reduction training intervention. The time of clinical symptom disappeared or improved, complication occurrence rate, emotional state, and quality of life score of the two groups were observed and compared.RESULTS In comparison with the control group, the bowel sound recovery time, ventosity and abdominal pain improvement time, and venting and cacation time in observation group were shorter, and the total incidence rate of complications was reduced, showing statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The scores of anxiety and depression in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Serum levels of tumour necrosis factor alpha,interleukin(IL)-6,IL-1βand IL-8 in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The scores of life quality in physiology, psychology, environment and social relations in observation group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The application of standardized nursing intervention combined with mindfulness stress reduction training in patients with acute pancreatitis has a definite effect, which can help to ameliorate the clinical symptoms, anxiety and depression of patients, reduce the incidence rate of complications, and improve the prognosis of patients.
文摘Objective:Female representation in the field of otolaryngology is lacking.Residency is the first point at which medical school graduates specialize in a chosen field and thus represents an opportunity to recruit and train more female otolaryngologists. This study sought to identify program factors associated with greater female representation among resident physicians. Methods:Departmental websites of all 124 otolaryngology residency programs in the United States and Puerto Rico were examined for a list of residents. For programs with a resident roster available, the genders of residents, faculty, program directors, and chairpersons were recorded.Location and city population for each program was also recorded,as was female resident representation.Programs were compared using Pearson Chi‐squared univariate tests.Results:1,632 residents and 2,605 faculty were included in the analysis of 109 programs. The median female resident representation was 40%.Programs with larger faculty sizes, more female faculty, and urban location were associated with an above‐median female resident representation.Programs with a larger residency cohort approached significance regarding above‐median female resident representation.Higher female faculty representation, program director gender, chairperson gender, and US region were not associated with variation in female resident representation. Conclusions:Greater female otolaryngology residency representation was associated with programs having an urban location and greater numbers of female and total faculty. It was also likely that a larger resident cohort size may affect female resident representation. The proportions of female faculty, program director, and chairperson gender,as well as the US region, were not associated with variation in female resident gender representation.
文摘Because of the massive expansion in enrollment, the number of graduates from law schools across the country is unprecedented, but the rate of unemployment is also unprecedented in comparison with the graduation. Educating them to attain these skills will aid them directly in practical work after graduation, improve their work quality and employment rate, and consequently improve the whole overall quality of the legal profession.
