In this paper, a new simple conversion method to predict the equivalent pile head load-settlement curve considering elastic shortening of deep foundation was put forward according to the load transfer mechanism. The proposed conversion method was applied to root caisson foundation in a bridge and to large diameter pipe piles in a sea wind power plant. Some new load cells, test procedure, and construction technology were adopted based on the applications to different deep foundations, which could enlarge the application scopes of bi-directional loading test. It has been demonstrated that the lifetime process of brittle materials involves three possible forms of crack growth: subcritical crack growth, partly subcritical crack growth and instantaneous fracture without subcritical crack growth. Curves of ν-K obtained in step-by-step static fatigue tests and in constant loading rate tests showed different trends for borosilicate glass sheet. α-SiC that is generally considered immune to mechanical fatigue effect and environmental attack was also tested under static loading and the lifetime was measured. The results showed that the threshold load to damage effect was over 80% of the initial strength for the SiC.展开更多

In order to study the resonance of a rotating circular plate under static loads in magnetic field, the nonlinear vibration equation about the spinning circular plate is derived according to Hamilton principle. The algebraic expression of the initial deflection and the magneto elastic forced disturbance differential equation are obtained through the application of Galerkin integral method. By mean of modified Multiple scale method, the strongly nonlinear amplitude-frequency response equation in steady state is established. The amplitude frequency characteristic curve and the relationship curve of amplitude changing with the static loads and the excitation force of the plate are obtained according to the numerical calculation. The influence of magnetic induction intensity, the speed of rotation and the static loads on the amplitude and the nonlinear characteristics of the spinning plate are analyzed. The proposed research provides the theory reference for the research of nonlinear resonance of rotating plates in engineering.展开更多

The analysis results indicate that the furcation collection where catastrophe may take place is not only decided by mechanical system itself but also relates to exterior loading, which is different from the results obtained under mono-static loading where the bifurcation collection is only determined by mechanics of the system itself and has nothing to do with exterior loading. In addition, the corresponding 1D coupled static-dynamic loading experiment is designed to verify the analysis results of catastrophe model. The test is done with Instron 1342 electro-servo controlled testing system, in which medium strain rate is caused by monotony rising dynamic load. The parameters are obtained combining theoretical model with experiment. The experimental and theoretical curves of critical dynamic load vs static load are rather coincided, thus the new model is proved to be correct.展开更多

Based on dividing the studied object into small blocks, the CBFM is suitable for parallel computing. In this paper, a static load balance parallel method is presented by combining Message Passing Interface (MPI) with Adaptively Modified CBFM (AMCBFM). In this method, the object geometry is partitioned into distinct blocks, and the serial number of blocks is sent to related nodes according to a certain rule. Every node only needs to calculate the information on local blocks. The obtained results confirm the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method in speeding up solving large electrical scale problems.展开更多

In this paper, the role of discontinuities around tunnels in rockburst occurrence was studied. For this purpose, the Abaqus explicit code was used to simulate dynamic rock failure in deep tunnels. Material heterogeneity was considered using Python scripting in Abaqus. Rockbursts near fault regions in deep tunnels under static and dynamic loads were studied.Several tunnel models with and without faults were built and static and dynamic loads were used to simulate rock failure. The velocity and the released kinetic energy of failed rocks, the failure zone around the tunnel, and the deformed mesh were studied to identify stable and unstable rock failures. Compared with models without discontinuities, the results showed that the velocity and the released kinetic energy of failed rocks were higher, the failure zone around the tunnel was larger, and the mesh was more deformed in the models with discontinuities, indicating that rock failure in the models with discontinuities was more violent. The modeling results confirm that the presence of geological structures in the vicinity of deep excavations could be one of the major influence factors for the occurrence of rockburst. It can explain localized rockburst occurrence in civil tunnels and mining drifts. The presented methodology in this paper for rockburst analysis can be useful for rockburst anticipation and control during mining and tunneling in highly stressed ground.展开更多

文摘Characteristic Basis Function Method (CBFM) is a novel approach for analyzing the ElectroMagnetic (EM) scattering from electrically large objects. The obtained results confirm the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method in speeding up solving large electrical scale problems.

文摘In order to obtain the characteristics of the effects of cyclic impact loading on the damage of coal-rock in the presence of a local static load constraint, the evolution of the damage factor and the fracture rate during the process and incremental cyclic impact on raw coal and briquettes has been studied.Experimental results show that the presence of local static load restraint improves the impact resistance of the coal-rock,and the damage factor of the coal-rock shows obvious zoning characteristics. When the coal-rock is in an elastic state, the partition with a larger static load restraint area has stronger impact resistance, when the coal-rock is in a plastic state, the partition with a larger static load restraint area has a weaker impact resistance.Increasing impulsive cyclic impacts have a higher damage efficiency to coal-rock than constant impulsive cyclic impacts. The difference in rock breaking efficiency between the two cyclic impact methods is mainly reflected in the partition with the largest constrained area. The crack propagation on the coal-rock surface is more consistent with the partition characteristics of the damage factor. When the static load constrained zone is in an elastic state, the static load has an inhibitory effect on the crack growth. When the static load confinement zone is in a plastic state, the cracks mainly propagate in the static load confinement zone, and the constrained zone mainly consists of tensile cracks that grow in the vertical direction, while the cracks in the non-constrained zone mainly grow in an oblique direction. Finally, fracture mechanics was applied to analyze the failure type of the sample.

文摘The presence of geological structures such as faults, joints, and dykes has been observed near excavation boundaries in many rockburst case histories. The presented methodology in this paper for rockburst analysis can be useful for rockburst anticipation and control during mining and tunneling in highly stressed ground.

文摘Rock failure phenomena, such as rockburst, slabbing(or spalling) and zonal disintegration, related to deep underground excavation of hard rocks are frequently reported and pose a great threat to deep mining.Currently, the explanation for these failure phenomena using existing dynamic or static rock mechanics theory is not straightforward. In this study, new theory and testing method for deep underground rock mass under coupled static-dynamic loading are introduced. Two types of coupled loading modes,i.e."critical static stress + slight disturbance" and "elastic static stress + impact disturbance",are proposed, and associated test devices are developed.Rockburst phenomena of hard rocks under coupled static-dynamic loading are successfully reproduced in the laboratory, and the rockburst mechanism and related criteria are demonstrated. The results of true triaxial unloading compression tests on granite and red sandstone indicate that the unloading can induce slabbing when the confining pressure exceeds a certain threshold, and the slabbing failure strength is lower than the shear failure strength according to the conventional Mohr-Column criterion.Numerical results indicate that the rock unloading failure response under different in situ stresses and unloading rates can be characterized by an equivalent strain energy density. In addition,we present a new microseismic source location method without premeasuring the sound wave velocity in rock mass, which can efficiently and accurately locate the rock failure in hard rock mines. Also,a new idea for deep hard rock mining using a non-explosive continuous mining method is briefly introduced.
