In this paper, a new design method for high performance octave-band stripline circulator is given. The optimum design program is given by a construction with double-Y junction aided by a section of quarter-wavelength impedance transformer. All the calculation is simpler than that given by Y. S. Wu, et al[1-7]. Typical performances of the 2-4GHz Y-junction stripline circulator are insertion loss 0.35dB (max), isolation 21dB (min), VSWR 1.25 (max). An octave low-loss and high isolation performance is demonstrated without the need of repeated design cycles. 展开更多

Purpose The superfast kickers are required for the HEPS storage ring on-axis injection system due to its very small dynamic aperture.A 750-mm-long stripline pair type of kicker prototype was researched and developed to demonstrate achieved performance of bandwidth,impedance,kicker strength,field uniformity and beam power loss.Methods The cross sections of the kicker main body and the end of taper part are optimized for a good impedance matching and field uniformity.3D simulation further optimizes the taper part to minimize the beam power loss and maintain a lower reflection.The high-voltage feedthrough is also designed and optimized by 3D CST.RF and high-voltage measurements are taken to verify the design of kicker assembly.Results The testing transmission odd-mode impedance is 50±0.5Ω,the even-mode impedance is 60±0.5Ω,and return loss is less than−13 dB.The peak voltage and the rise time of pulse width inserting kicker assembly just decrease 3%of 20 kV and slow down 80 ps,respectively.Conclusions RF testing results agree well with the simulation ones,which meet the design specification.The kicker assembly works well at±20 kV pulse. 展开更多

Purpose A stripline kicker is required for Harbin Institute of Technology(HIT)10 MeV electron accelerator to scan electrons horizontally in two directions,and the maximum deflecting angle is 65 mrad.In this study,a 560-mm-long stripline kicker was designed to achieve good field uniformity and odd mode impedance matching.Methods In order to reduce power reflections and meet field uniformity requirement,we optimized the cross section of the kicker main body.Design and optimization of the stripline kicker were finished by CST.Results The field uniformity is 2%in the 60 mm(x)×80 mm(y)region,as required.Considering impedance matching and manufacturing,the transmission odd mode impedance was finally chosen to 45Ω,which indicated a reflecting loss of less than−50 dB below 1 MHz.The maximum field is less than 7 MV/m with a maximum pulse voltage of±22 kV between the two electrodes when the electrons pass through the kicker.Conclusions The physical design of the stripline kicker has been finished,and the simulation results satisfied the requirements. 展开更多

This paper presents the design and performance of a 94 GHz crossbar mixer using chip diodes in crossbar configuration. The mixer has been designed in suspended stripline configuration on 2 mil fused quartz substrate. Co-simulation between Agilent Advance Design System (ADS) and CST Microwave studio is used to simulate and optimize the mixer circuit. The conversion loss of this crossbar mixer with ~10 dBm of LO power over RF bandwidth (89 to 93.8 GHz) with LO frequency at 94 GHz has been measured. Measurement results show minimum conversion loss of the order of 8 dB and achieved LO to RF isolation was greater than 26 dB. 展开更多
