This analytical variational method can be obtained by a unitary transformation or alternatively by assuming the form of the ground state wave function. The key of the method is to introduce a variational parameter λ,which can be determined by minimizing the energy functional. Using this method, we calculate the physical observables with high accuracy in comparison with the numerical exact ones. Our method evidently improves over the widely used general rotating-wave approximation(GRWA) in both qualitative and quantitative aspects.展开更多

Most existing works on coupled structural-acoustic analysis are limited to systems under deterministic excitations due to high computational cost required by a random response analysis. To reduce the computational burden involved in the coupled random analysis, an iterative procedure based on the Pseudo excitation method has been developed. It is found that this algorithm has an overwhelming advantage in computing efficiency over traditional methods, as demonstrated by some numerical examples given in this paper.展开更多

This kind of method has made use of the twice semi-analytical technique: the perturbation and semi-analytic solution function to simplify 3-D nonlinear coupled problem into 1-D linear numerical one. In addition, this method is a new advance of semi-analytical method in the application to nonlinear problems by means of combinating with the analytical perturbation method, and it is also a branch of the perturbational numerical method developed in last years.展开更多

The coupling matrices were discussed and physical degrees of freedom of the structure were treated in terms of its modal basis in vacuum to decouple the computation from the entire coupled structural acoustic equations. The numerical results for the ellipsoidal shell immersed in two different fluids indicate that heavy fluid changes greatly structural and acoustic behavior. This method can be applied to analyze acoustic and vibration for arbitrary complex structures in fluids.展开更多

Using the Laplace transformation method and transfer function to simplify and solve the coupled equations in Laplace domain, the moisture and temperature distribution in time domain are obtained by inverse Laplace transformation. The shrinkage deformations of concrete are numerically simulated by the finite element method (FEM) based on the obtained temperature and moisture distribution. This approach avoids the complex eigenvalues, coupling difficulty and low accuracy found in other solving methods, and also effectively calculates the moisture induced shrinkage which is almost impossible using familiar FEM software. The validity of the simulation procedure is verified by Hundt's test data. The results reveal that the proposed approach can be considered a reliable and efficient method to simulate the coupling moisture and temperature shrinkage of concrete.展开更多
