efficient modeling strategies are essential to predict the multiphysic behavior of advanced structures accurately. Therefore, the manuscript presents a higher-order formulation for the static analysis of laminated anisotropic magneto-electro-elastic doubly-curved shell structures. The fundamental relations account for the full coupling between the electric field, magnetic field, and mechanical elasticity. The configuration variables are expanded along the thickness direction using a generalized formulation based on the Equivalent Layer-Wise approach.Higher-order polynomials are selected, allowing for the assessment of prescribed values of the configuration variables at the top and bottom sides of solids. In addition,an effective strategy is provided for modeling general surface distributions of mechanical pressures and electromagnetic external fluxes. The model is based on a continuum-based formulation which employs an analytical homogenization of the multifield material properties, based on Mori&Tanaka approach,of a magneto-electro-elastic composite material obtained from a piezoelectric and a piezomagnetic phase, with coupled magneto-electro-elastic effects.A semi-analytical Navier solution is applied to the fundamental equations, and an efficient post-processing equilibrium-based procedure is here used, based on the numerical assessment with the Generalized Differential Quadrature(GDQ)method,to recover the response of three-dimensional shells. The formulation is validated through various examples, investigating the multifield response of panels of different curvatures and lamination schemes. An efficient homogenization procedure, based on the Mori&Tanaka approach,is employed to obtain the three-dimensional constitutive relation of magneto-electro-elastic materials. Each model is validated against three-dimensional finite-element simulations,as developed in commercial codes.Furthermore, the full coupling effect between the electric and magnetic response is evaluated via a parametric investigation, with useful insights for design purposes of many engineering applications. The paper, thus, provides a formulation for the magneto-electro-elastic analysis of laminated structures, with a high computational efficiency, since it provides results with three-dimensional capabilities with a two-dimensional formulation. The adoption of higher-order theories, indeed, allows us to efficiently predict not only the mechanical response of the structure as happens in existing literature, but also the through-the-thickness distribution of electric and magnetic variables.A novel higher-order theory has been proposed in this work for the magneto-electro-elastic analysis of laminated shell structures with varying curvatures. This theory employs a generalized method to model the distribution of the displacement field components, electrostatic, and magneto-static potential, accounting for higher-order polynomials. The thickness functions have been defined to prescribe the arbitrary values of configuration variables at the top and bottom surfaces, even though the model is ESL-based.The fundamental governing equations have been derived in curvilinear principal coordinates, considering all coupling effects among different physical phenomena, including piezoelectric, piezomagnetic, and magneto-electric effects.A homogenization algorithm based on a Mori&Tanaka approach has been adopted to obtain the equivalent magneto-electro-mechanical properties of a two-phase transversely isotropic composite. In addition,an effective method has been adopted involving the external loads in terms of surface tractions,as well as the electric and magnetic fluxes. In the post-processing stage,a GDQ-based procedure provides the actual 3D response of a doubly-curved solid. The model has been validated through significant numerical examples, showing that the results of this semi-analytical theory align well with those obtained from 3D numerical models from commercial codes. In particular, the accuracy of the model has been verified for lamination schemes with soft layers and various curvatures under different loading conditions. Moreover, this formulation has been used to predict the effect of combined electric and magnetic loads on the mechanical response of panels with different curvatures and lamination schemes. As a consequence, this theory can be applied in engineering applications where the combined effect of electric and magnetic loads is crucial, thus facilitating their study and design. An existing limitation of this study is that the solution is that it is derived only for structures with uniform curvature,cross-ply lamination scheme, and simply supported boundary conditions.Furthermore,it requires that each lamina within the stacking sequence exhibits magneto-electro-elastic behavior. Therefore,at the present stage,it cannot be used for multifield analysis of classical composite structures with magneto-electric patches.A further enhancement of the research work could be the derivation of a solution employing a numerical technique,to overcome the limitations of the Navier method. In this way,the same theory may be adopted to predict the multifield response of structures with variable curvatures and thickness,as well as anisotropic materials and more complicated boundary conditions.Acknowledgement:The authors are grateful to the Department of Innovation Engineering of Univer-sity of Salento for the support.展开更多

As stiffness and damping elements connecting the transmission system and vehicle body, the rubber mount exhibits better vibration isolation performance than the rigid connection. This paper presents a complete design process of the mounting system, including the vibration decoupling, vibration simulation analysis, topology optimization, and experimental verification. Based on the 6?degrees?of?freedom vibration coupling model of the powertrain mounting system, an optimization algorithm is used to extract the best design parameters of each mount, thus rendering the mounting system fully decoupled and the natural frequency well configured, and the optimal parameters are used to design the mounting system. Subsequently, vibration simulation analysis is applied to the mounting system, considering both transmission and road excitations. According to the results of finite element analysis, the topological structure of the metal frame of the front mount is optimized to improve the strength and dynamic characteristics of the mounting system. Finally, the vibration bench test is used to verify the availability of the optimization design with the analysis of acceleration response and vibration transmissibility of the mounting system. The results show that the vibration isolation performance of the mounting system can be improved effectively using the vibration optimal decoupling method, and the structural modification of the metal frame can well promote the dynamic characteristics of the mounting system.展开更多

The gait planning on the plane and the transition between perpendicular intersectional planes is discussed, with an emphasis on the analysis of the kinematics degree of freedom(DOF) and body posture.Central pattern generator(CPG) neural network is realized in LabVIEW and utilized to control Geckobot's movement. The CPG scheme in Lab VIEW is given, and how CPG is used to control Geckobot to turn or move forward is explored.Simulations are conducted in ADAMS to verify the feasibility of the structure design and gait planning and to acquire some parameters for practical Geckobot development. The experiment with Geckobot-Ⅰand Geckobot-Ⅱon their crawling capacity on the plane and the ground-to-wall transition finds that the robot can complete the crawling movement and ground-to-wall transition, verifying the feasibility of the structure design, gait planning and the CPG motion control. The Geckobot structure design approach, gait planning and the CPG motion control presented would be useful for the research on wall-climbing robots.展开更多

The post-processing technique named differential amplification method was proposed for the comparison study of different flow structures. The full steady flow fields of an industrial centrifugal pump working on-design and off-design points were numerically investigated by solving Reynolds average Navier-Stokes equations together with a shear-stress transport(SST) k-? turbulence model. And the numerically predicted performance curves of the studied pump agree well with test measurement results. Compared with the flow flied on design point under the help of differential amplification method, the disturbance caused by interaction between blade and volute tongue is very obvious and it extends to the diffuser pipe on the working point with 0.8 times rated flux. While on the point with 1.2 times rated flux, the flow distribution in impeller region is roughly even and it flows more to the bottom section of the diffuser pipe. The above method was proved to be good at displaying the subtle secondary flow structure changes with a higher resolution effect relative to single isolated case observation, which helps the optimization decision-making from multiple design cases.展开更多

Elastic analyses for 18 RC structure models with and without staircases are conducted and compared to study the influence of the staircase on the stiffness, displacements and internal forces of the structures. To capture the yielding development and damage mechanism of frame structures, elasto-plastic analysis is carried out for one of the 18 models. Based on the features observed in the analyses, a new type of staircase design i.e., isolating them from the master structure to eliminate the effect of K-type struts, is proposed and discussed. It is concluded that the proposed method of staircase isolation is effective and feasible for engineering design, and does not significantly increase the construction cost.展开更多

During the past few decades, these parameters were determined by the "trial and error" method, resulting in wastes of time and funds. In this paper, a new approach of regression orthogonal design with plasma simulation experiments is proposed to investigate the sensitivity of the structural parameters on the uniformity of plasma characteristics. The tool for simulating plasma is CFD-ACE+, which is commercial multi-physical modeling software that has been proven to be accurate for plasma simulation. The simulated experimental results are analyzed to get a regression equation on three structural parameters. Through this equation, engineers can compute the uniformity of the electron number density rapidly without modeling by CFD-ACE+. An optimization performed at the end produces good results.展开更多

文摘Weighted total least squares(WTLS)have been regarded as the standard tool for the errors-in-variables(EIV)model in which all the elements in the observation vector and the coefficient matrix are contaminated with random errors. However,in many geodetic applications, some elements are error-free and some random observations appear repeatedly in different positions in the augmented coefficient matrix. It is called the linear structured EIV(LSEIV)model. Two kinds of methods are proposed for the LSEIV model from functional and stochastic modifications. On the one hand, the functional part of the LSEIV model is modified into the errors-in-observations(EIO)model.On the other hand, the stochastic model is modified by applying the Moore-Penrose inverse of the cofactor matrix. The algorithms are derived through the Lagrange multipliers method and linear approximation. The estimation principles and iterative formula of the parameters are proven to be consistent. The first-order approximate variance-covariance matrix(VCM)of the parameters is also derived.A numerical example is given to compare the performances of our proposed three algorithms with the STLS approach.Afterwards, the least squares(LS),total least squares(TLS)and linear structured weighted total least squares(LSWTLS)solutions are compared and the accuracy evaluation formula is proven to be feasible and effective. Finally, the LSWTLS is applied to the field of deformation analysis, which yields a better result than the traditional LS and TLS estimations.

文摘The utilization of iron coke provides a green pathway for low-carbon ironmaking. To uncover the influence mechanism of iron ore on the behavior and kinetics of iron coke gasification, the effect of iron ore on the microstructure of iron coke was investigated.Furthermore,a comparative study of the gasification reactions between iron coke and coke was conducted through non-isothermal thermogravimetric method. The findings indicate that compared to coke, iron coke exhibits an augmentation in micropores and specific surface area, and the micropores further extend and interconnect. This provides more adsorption sites for CO_(2) molecules during the gasification process, resulting in a reduction in the initial gasification temperature of iron coke.Accelerating the heating rate in non-isothermal gasification can enhance the reactivity of iron coke. The metallic iron reduced from iron ore is embedded in the carbon matrix, reducing the orderliness of the carbon structure, which is primarily responsible for the heightened reactivity of the carbon atoms. The kinetic study indicates that the random pore model can effectively represent the gasification process of iron coke due to its rich pore structure. Moreover,as the proportion of iron ore increases, the activation energy for the carbon gasification gradually decreases, from 246.2 kJ/mol for coke to 192.5 kJ/mol for iron coke 15wt%.
文摘This paper reviews the applications of the multi degree-of-freedom(MDOF)equivalent linear system in seismic analysis and design of planar steel and reinforced concrete framed structures. An equivalent MDOF linear structure, analogous to the original MDOF nonlinear structure,is constructed, which has the same mass and elastic stiffness as the original structure and modal damping ratios that account for the effects of geometrical and material nonlinearities. The equivalence implies a balance between the viscous damping work of the equivalent linear structure and that of the nonlinearities in the original nonlinear structure. This work balance is established with the aid of a transfer function in the frequency domain. Thus, equivalent modal damping ratios can be explicitly determined in terms of the period and deformation levels of the structure as well as the soil types.Use of these equivalent modal damping ratios can help address a variety of seismic analysis and design problems associated with planar steel and reinforced concrete framed structures in a rational and accurate manner. These include force-based seismic design with the aid of acceleration response spectra characterized by high amounts of damping, improved direct displacement-based seismic design and the development of advanced seismic intensity measures. The equivalent modal damping ratios are also utilized in the context of linear modal analysis for the definition and construction of the MDOF response spectrum.Furthermore, the equivalent modal damping ratios are employed in a seismic retrofit method for steel-framed structures with viscous dampers. Finally,it is demonstrated that modal behavior(or strength reduction)factors can be easily constructed based on these modal damping ratios for a more rational and accurate force-based seismic design, including the determination of inelastic displacement profiles.
文摘Objective:To explore the application effect of structured healthcare education in patients with brittle diabetes mellitus.Methods:188 brittle diabetic patients admitted to our hospital from May 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into the control group(n=94)and the observation group(n=94)according to the random number table method. The control group used conventional nursing intervention and the observation group used structured healthcare education. The general information, glycemic indexes,self-efficacy,compliance,and nursing satisfaction of patients in the two groups were observed. Results:There was no statistical significance in the basic information of the two groups of patients(P>0.05);after the intervention, the fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose, and HbA1c of the patients in the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.001);after the intervention, the self-efficacy scores of the patients in the two groups increased, and the scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.001);the total adherence rate of the patients in the observation group(90/95.75%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(80/90.10%)(χ^(2)=6.144,P<0.05);and the total satisfaction rate of patients in the observation group(92/97.87%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(78/82.98%)(χ^(2)=12.042,P<0.05).Conclusion:In patients with brittle diabetes mellitus, structured healthcare education can effectively control patients’blood glucose levels, improve patients’self-efficacy and adherence, and enhance patient satisfaction.

文摘The constant amplitude loading fatigue tests were carried out on the 6061/7075 aluminum alloy TIG fillet welded lap specimens in this study, and the weld seam cross-section hardness was measured. The experimental results show that most specimens mainly failed at the 7075 side weld toes even though the base material tensile strength of 7075 is higher than that of 6061.The maximum stress-strain concentration in the two finite element models is located at the 7075 side weld toe, which is basically consistent with the actual fracture location. The weld zone on the 7075 side experiences severe material softening, with a large gradient. However, the Vickers hardness value on the 6061 side negligibly changes and fluctuates around 70 HV.No obvious defects are found on the fatigue fracture, but a large number of secondary cracks appear.Cracks germinate from the weld toe and propagate in the direction of the plate thickness.Weld reinforcement has a serious impact on fatigue life.Fatigue life will decrease exponentially as the weld reinforcement increases under low stress. It is found that the notch stress method can give a better fatigue life prediction for TIG weldments, and the errors of the predicted results are within the range of two factors, while the prediction accuracy decreases under low stress. The equivalent structural stress method can also be used for fatigue life prediction of TIG weldments, but the errors of prediction results are within the range of three factors, and the accuracy decreases under high stress.

文摘Atomic-scale doping strategies and structure design play pivotal roles in tailoring the electronic structure and physicochemical property of electromagnetic wave absorption(EMWA)materials. However, the relationship between configuration and electromagnetic(EM)loss mechanism has remained elusive.Herein, drawing inspiration from the DNA transcription process,we report the successful synthesis of novel in situ Mn/N co-doped helical carbon nanotubes with ultrabroad EMWA capability.Theoretical calculation and EM simulation confirm that the orbital coupling and spin polarization of the Mn–N4–C configuration, along with cross polarization generated by the helical structure, endow the helical converters with enhanced EM loss.As a result,HMC-8 demonstrates outstanding EMWA performance, achieving a minimum reflection loss of−63.13 dB at an ultralow thickness of 1.29 mm.Through precise tuning of the graphite domain size,HMC-7 achieves an effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 6.08 GHz at 2.02 mm thickness.Furthermore, constructing macroscale gradient metamaterials enables an ultrabroadband EAB of 12.16 GHz at a thickness of only 5.00 mm,with the maximum radar cross section reduction value reaching 36.4 dB m2.This innovative approach not only advances the understanding of metal–nonmetal co-doping but also realizes broadband EMWA,thus contributing to the development of EMWA mechanisms and applications.
文摘Maintaining the integrity and longevity of structures is essential in many industries, such as aerospace, nuclear, and petroleum. To achieve the cost-effectiveness of large-scale systems in petroleum drilling,a strong emphasis on structural durability and monitoring is required. This study focuses on the mechanical vibrations that occur in rotary drilling systems, which have a substantial impact on the structural integrity of drilling equipment. The study specifically investigates axial, torsional, and lateral vibrations, which might lead to negative consequences such as bit-bounce,chaotic whirling, and high-frequency stick-slip.These events not only hinder the efficiency of drilling but also lead to exhaustion and harm to the system’s components since they are difficult to be detected and controlled in real time. The study investigates the dynamic interactions of these vibrations, specifically in their high-frequency modes, usingfield data obtained from measurement while drilling.Thefindings have demonstrated the effect of strong coupling between the high-frequency modes of these vibrations on drilling sys-tem performance. The obtained results highlight the importance of considering the interconnected impacts of these vibrations when designing and implementing robust control systems. Therefore, integrating these compo-nents can increase the durability of drill bits and drill strings,as well as improve the ability to monitor and detect damage. Moreover,by exploiting thesefindings, the assessment of structural resilience in rotary drilling systems can be enhanced.Furthermore, the study demonstrates the capacity of structural health monitoring to improve the quality, dependability, and efficiency of rotary drilling systems in the petroleum industry.

文摘Traditional space-coiled acoustic metamaterials have been widely used in the fields of low-frequency sound absorption and noise reduction. However, they have limitations in terms of low-frequency absorption bandwidth, and the weak coupling effect under complex coiled structures also limits their applications. In this work,we introduce the composite structure changing the characteristic impedance of acoustic metamaterials to enhance the coupling effect.Meanwhile, the perforated plates with inclined design instead of traditional partitions greatly improve the sound absorption. The model and method designed in this paper show significant innovation in enhancing low-frequency absorption performance.

文摘Seismic fragility analysis(SFA)is known as an effective probabilistic-based approach used to evaluate seismic fragility. There are various sources of uncertainties associated with this approach.A nuclear power plant(NPP)system is an extremely important infrastructure and contains many structural uncertainties due to construction issues or structural deterioration during service.Simulation of structural uncertainties effects is a costly and time-consuming endeavor.A novel approach to SFA for the NPP considering structural uncertainties based on the damage state is proposed and examined. The results suggest that considering the structural uncertainties is essential in assessing the fragility of the NPP structure, and the impact of structural uncertainties tends to increase with the state of damage.Subsequently, machine learning(ML)is found to be superior in high-precision damage state identification of the NPP for reducing the time of nonlinear time-history analysis(NLTHA)and could be applied in the damage state-based SFA.Also, the impact of various sources of uncertainties is investigated through sensitivity analysis. The Sobol and Shapley additive explanations(SHAP)method can be complementary to each other and able to solve the problem of quantifying seismic and structural uncertainties simultaneously and the interaction effect of each parameter.

文摘Recent engineering applications increasingly adopt smart materials, whose mechanical responses are sensitive to magnetic and electric fields. In this context, new and computationally efficient modeling strategies are essential to predict the multiphysic behavior of advanced structures accurately. In this way,the same theory may be adopted to predict the multifield response of structures with variable curvatures and thickness,as well as anisotropic materials and more complicated boundary conditions.Acknowledgement:The authors are grateful to the Department of Innovation Engineering of Univer-sity of Salento for the support.

文摘This paper presents a framework for constructing surrogate models for sensitivity analysis of structural dynamics behavior.Physical models involving deformation, such as collisions, vibrations, and penetration, are devel-oped using the material point method. To reduce the computational cost of Monte Carlo simulations, response surface models are created as surrogate models for the material point system to approximate its dynamic behavior. An adaptive randomized greedy algorithm is employed to construct a sparse polynomial chaos expansion model with a fixed order, effectively balancing the accuracy and computational efficiency of the surrogate model.Based on the sparse polynomial chaos expansion, sensitivity analysis is conducted using the global finite difference and Sobol methods.Several examples of structural dynamics are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in addressing structural dynamics problems.

文摘An all-digital hybrid current regulation scheme for the single-phase shunt active power filter (APF) is presented. The proposed hybrid current control scheme integrates the deadbeat control and the dual-mode structure repetitive control (DMRC) so that it can offer superior steady-state performance and good transient features. Unlike the conventional schemes, the proposed scheme-based APF can compensate both the odd and the even order harmonics in grid. The detailed design criteria and the stability analysis of the proposed hybrid current controller are presented. Moreover, an improved structure which incorporates the proposed hybrid controller and the resonant controller for tracking specific order harmonics is given. The relationships between the resonant controller and different repetitive control schemes are discussed. Experimental results verify the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed hybrid control scheme.

文摘The design strategies for powertrain mounting systems play an important role in the reduction of vehicular vibration and noise. The results show that the vibration isolation performance of the mounting system can be improved effectively using the vibration optimal decoupling method, and the structural modification of the metal frame can well promote the dynamic characteristics of the mounting system.

文摘Gecko-like robot(Geckobot),an important branch of bionic robotics,is a robot that simulates gecko's capacity to climb walls and ceilings. The work environment of the traditional wall-climbing robot is greatly limited as the moving structure and adsorption principle of the robot have nothing to do with the real gecko. However, the adsorption principle and moving mode of the real gecko can provide a new way to break through the restrictions of the traditional wall-climbing robot.Inspired by the moving mechanism of geckos, this paper develops the Geckobot with motile body. Two types of Geckobots are addressed:one with compliant flat bar as the body, and the other with prismatic joint as the body. The compliant body not only resembles the moving mode of the real gecko body, but also simplifies the Geckobot's structure. The prismatic joint body is used to adapt the change of body length in ground-to-wall transition. The Geckobot structure design approach, gait planning and the CPG motion control presented would be useful for the research on wall-climbing robots.

文摘A new sensor fault diagnosis method based on structured kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) is proposed for nonlinear processes. By performing KPCA on subsets of variables, a set of structured residuals, i.e., scaled powers of KPCA, can be obtained in the same way as partial PCA. The structured residuals are utilized in composing an isolation scheme for sensor fault diagnosis, according to a properly designed incidence matrix. Sensor fault sensitivity and critical sensitivity are defined, based on which an incidence matrix optimization algorithm is proposed to improve the performance of the structured KPCA. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated on the simulated continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) process.

文摘The three-dimensional internal flow field of centrifugal pump is complex and variable with design parameters and operation conditions. The above method was proved to be good at displaying the subtle secondary flow structure changes with a higher resolution effect relative to single isolated case observation, which helps the optimization decision-making from multiple design cases.

文摘Many staircases in reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures suffered severe damage during the Wenchuan earthquake. It is concluded that the proposed method of staircase isolation is effective and feasible for engineering design, and does not significantly increase the construction cost.

文摘The geometry of an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) etcher is usually considered to be an important factor for determining both plasma and process uniformity over a large wafer. An optimization performed at the end produces good results.
