Investigation of the Relevance Between Electronic Courseware Implementation and Students’ Learning Styles

Currently many methods of implementation are available if we want the com＇seware to be used in e-learning interactivly with media rich. This paper focuses the attention to the relevance between various implementations in presentation adopted in the courseware and students＇ learning styles, in order to consider what kind of implemenation or description is preferable to what kind of students or order to support their leaming. We carded out the canonical correlation analysis for this purpose and investigated this relevance on the basis of the experiments. Main results of the experiment are given with detailed disoussion.

Enhancing Students’ Learning about Healthy Living through Community Participation

Introduction: The Health Enhancement Module (HEM) is taught as a core curriculum for all medical students at Monash University since 2002. In 2012 we moved the year three content of the program into a community setting, calling it the Health Enhancement Carnival (HEC). At the carnival, our undergraduates interacted with school students, their teachers, and their parents, involving them in a mix of discussions, poster presentations, and video presentations. In this paper we present our experience with the HEC. Specifically, we looked at the following two measures: how did the HEC influence the knowledge, attitude, and practice of healthy living among medical students? And, what were the learning experiences of the students during the HEC? Methods: Five themes (exercise, food, healthy sleep, workplace stress and ageing) were divided among students. They were asked to develop those themes with the help of posters, power point presentations, community talks as well as video presentations. The carnival was held in the setting of two nearby children’s schools. Students were evaluated by a panel of examiners with regards to learning objectives as well as preparation and presentation. As part of evaluation, we developed 2 questionnaires. The HEP Healthy Living Questionnaire provided feedback on how the program had improved students’ knowledge, attitudes, and practice of healthy living. The HEP Learning Style Questionnaire covered twelve areas, including collegiality, environment, leadership, community interaction and other facets of learning style. Analyses were performed using the IBM SPSS Statistics version 20 software in the Clinical School Johor Bahru. Results: 1) Influence of HEC on the knowledge, attitude, and practice of healthy living among medical students. From the interviews, the judges gave the students mean ratings of 4.0/5. We also received 77 out of 127 feedback questionnaires (response rate: 60.6%) from the students. Most students (range: 49.35% to 55.84%) were “satisfied/totally satisfied”, “achieved/totally achieved”, or “improved/totally improved” to 5 questions of the Healthy Living Questionnaire. Correlation coefficients between knowledge of healthy living, attitude towards healthy living, and practice of healthy living were large (exceeding 0.8) suggesting that these three measures were highly and positively inter-correlated. Most students (range: 60.28% to 71.43%) scored “a lot/almost all”, to 5 questions regarding achievement of learning objectives. 2) Learning experiences of the students during the HEC. Responding to the HEP Learning Style Questionnaire, most students (range: 66.24% to 85.72%) agreed or strongly agreed that the program provided an optimal environment for learning, encouraging students to assume leadership responsibilities and promoting self-directed learning. A correlation matrix of the 12 items showed medium to large correlations between all twelve variables. Conclusions: The Health Enhancement Program (HEP) is an innovative approach that has enabled students to learn about healthy living within the context of the local community.

Surveying on English Mobile Learning Among University Students: Current State and Influencing Factors

Mobile learning integrates mobile technology with digital learning,offering flexible,personalized content and portable equipment.It enables access to rich content and enhances learning efficiency.Therefore,it has become mainstream to utilize mobile devices for English learning among university students’English learning.The current study aims to examine the current situation and influencing factors of university students’English mobile learning.98 university students in one university of Shanghai participated the study and the questionnaire was used to collect the data.The results indicated that most university students already have electronic devices to support mobile learning.Personal factors,environmental factors,digital literacy,and technological capabilities are the main factors affecting university students’English mobile learning.The current study has implications for learners,teachers,and software developers.Learners should adjust their learning motivation,play an active role,and fully utilize the mobile platform to obtain resources and improve learning efficiency.Teachers should incorporate the advantages of mobile teaching and promote categorized and tiered teaching.Software developers should add new functions on the basis of meeting the basic needs of learners and continuously innovate the mobile learning platform.

Evaluation of Chinese Learning Efficiency of International Students in China:Comparing by Dimension

This paper introduces the Value Engineering method to calculate the value coefficient of Chinese learning efficiency for 377 international students by dimension.Results suggest that attention should be paid to male,European and American,rural,introverted,and“work or education needs”international students;Give full play to the driving role of the reference-type,explore the space for improving the learning efficiency of the improvement-type and attention-type,and pay attention to the problems of problem-type international students.

Evaluation of Chinese Learning Efficiency of International Students in China

This paper investigates the related factors of Chinese learning engagement and performance of 377 students from three universities in Guangzhou of China,employs the value engineering method,and calculates the value coefficient of learning efficiency.From the value coefficient of Chinese language learning,it proves that over 60%of international students studying in China have a higher efficiency in learning Chinese.

How Presence Affects College Students’Online Learning Outcomes:Unveiling Its Underlying Mechanism

Over the past few years,China’s higher education institutions have experienced remarkable growth in online teaching.However,it remains uncertain whether and how the sense of presence perceived by students affects their online learning outcomes when teachers use online teaching media for communication.This sense specifically pertains to the extent to which students perceive themselves as“real persons”and establish connections with others.Therefore,this study constructs a conceptual model elucidating the impact of presence on students’online learning outcomes and empirically examines the mechanism through which three types of presence influence students’online learning.The test results of the structural equation modeling(SEM)indicate that:(a)teaching presence,social presence,and cognitive presence all exhibit significantly positive outcomes on students’online learning outcomes;(b)these three types of presence can also indirectly and positively influence students’online learning outcomes through the mediating effect of flow experience and learning satisfaction;and(c)flow experience and learning satisfaction play a sequential mediating role in the process by which presence impacts students’online learning outcomes.We hope that the relevant research findings may contribute to unveiling the“black box”of the impact of presence on students’online learning outcomes and offer valuable insights for college educators to overcome online teaching constraints and enhance online teaching quality.

Efficacy of Online Learning and Influence on Skin and Eyes Among College Students

To evaluate the efficacy of online learning and explore the impact of long-term use of electronic products on facial skin as well as eyes.A cross-sectional survey was conducted to 180 sophomores in Xi′an Jiaotong University by cluster random sampling from September to October 2021.The questionnaire covering study condition,skin lesion and Ocular Surface Disease Index.χ_(2) test was used to compare the facial skin condition among different groups,and spearman correlation test was used to test the correlation of rank data.During online education,students′learning pressure is reduced,their autonomy is improved,and the learning efficiency is reduced.There were differences in the incidence of facial itching and papules among different groups.Duration of use of electronic products was positively correlated with the facial itching,with an r value of 0.231(P<0.05);the proportion of pigmentation in non-blue light protection groups(12.8%)was higher than that in blue light protection groups(1.7%),the difference was statistically significant(χ_(2)=8.384,P<0.05).The prevalence of dry eye among college students is 66.7%,and the proportion of moderate to severe dry eye is 34.5%.The study autonomy has been improved during online teaching.Long-term use of electronic products and no blue light protection have an impact on facial skin.Students should enhance the knowledge of skin-care and eye-care and develop better habits.

An Investigation on the Influence of Middle School Students'Grammar Learning Self-efficacy on Their Learning Performance

In middleschool English teaching,grammar instruction has always been an important and challenging aspect.Due to the strong influence of grammar explanation in Chinese,learning English grammar may be affected by negative transfer from their native language,which could pose certain obstacles to English acquisition.Self-efficacy,as a major emotional factor influencing learners'internal regulation strategies,has attracted wide attention from researchers both domestically and internationally for its impact on learning performance.High self-efficacy helps learners develop a more positive mindset towards learning,thereby contributing to improved learning performance.Therefore,this study focuses on investigating the relationship between grammatical self-efficacy and learning performance of English grammar among middle school students.This research contributes to a complementary understanding of grammatical self-efficacy among educators,enhancing their teaching skills,and effectively guiding students to learn English grammar with a more positive and healthy mindset,presenting a future grammar instruction in middle school English teaching.

Results of the virtual simulation teaching method on autonomous learning competencies of undergraduate nursing students

Background:With the continuous development of information technology,most universities use mobile teaching platforms for classroom teaching.With the help of the national virtual simulation experimental teaching project sharing platform,students can enhance self-directed learning through the virtual simulation operations of the project.Purpose:To explore the application of virtual simulation experiment in teaching the fundamentals of nursing practice based on the Platform of the National Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Project during the COVID-19 pandemic analyze the impact of this teaching method on the autonomous learning ability of undergraduate nursing students.Methods:Convenience sampling was used to select 121 nursing undergraduates from Y University’s School of Nursing;the online teaching of fundamentals of nursing practice was conducted to the students.After taking the course,questionnaires were distributed to the undergraduate nursing students to collect their perceptions regarding the use of the virtual simulation experiment platform and autonomous learning competencies.Results:Most students expressed their preference for the virtual simulation teaching platform,and their satisfaction with the project evaluation was high 83.05%.They hoped to promote the application in future experimental teaching.Undergraduate nursing students believed that the virtual simulation teaching platform was conducive to cultivating clinical thinking ability,could stimulate learning interest,enhanced autonomous learning competencies.Conclusion:During the pandemic,the virtual simulation teaching platform for a lecture on in nursing education has achieved good results in both the aspects of teaching and student learning.Teachers efficiently used their training time and reduced their teaching burden.Moreover,the laboratory cost was also reduced.For undergraduate nursing students,the system was conducive to cultivating clinical thinking ability,stimulating their interest in learning,enhancing their learning and comprehension abilities and learning initiative.

Investigation on the Current Status and Effects of Online Course Learning for Nursing Students

[Objectives]To explore the current situation and effects of online learning from the perspective of students,as well as the learning dynamics,and to explore the online teaching methods.It is possible to put forward relevant suggestions for the problems presented by online teaching,find effective teaching methods,and explore appropriate online teaching methods.[Methods]The nursing students of the 2020,2021,and 2022 grades of Chengde Nursing Vocational College were selected as the research subjects.A self-made questionnaire survey method was adopted.The questionnaire had 5 items and 44 questions:3 questions on personal information,9 questions on the teacher level,12 ques-tions on the student level,7 questions on the technical level,and 13 questions on online learning satisfaction.[Results]In the process of on-line teaching,the cooperation between family and school can be carried out to give full play to the important role of family supervision in online learning and other education,which is conducive to maintaining the discipline of online courses on the Internet,increasing the online learning effect of students,and avoiding the temptation of the Internet to the greatest extent.In the process,we should increase students'self-control in online learning,help students shape realistic goals,and thus improve the effect of online learning.Technical level:increase information-based teaching,enrich teaching content,and introduce virtual simulation software to simulate clinical operations,so as to increase students’interest and enthusiasm in learning.[Conclusions]This study is expected to provide a certain reference for the smooth and efficient development of online teaching and online learning skills.

A Study on the Impact of Psychological Counseling for Minor Medical Students in Clinical Teaching and Learning

Objective:To explore the impact of psychological counseling for underage medical students in clinical teaching.Methods:24 of the 48 underage medical students who were interned in our hospital from March 2023 to February 2024 were randomly selected to adopt the teaching management method of one-on-one psychological guidance as the observation group;the remaining 24 adopted the traditional teaching management method as the control group.The observation of the effects of psychological detachment on various aspects of underage medical students allows the determination of whether psychological detachment impacts clinical teaching.Results:The observation group’s theoretical examination scores,skill assessment scores,and departmental performance evaluation scale score excellence rate were higher than the control group’s,with P<0.05 being statistically significant.At the same time,the clinical teaching and teaching management ability of the hospital was also improved.Conclusion:Psychological guidance for underage medical students can not only improve the comprehensive quality of medical students but also improve the teaching level,which is conducive to improving the teaching effect,and it is a clinical teaching mode worth promoting.

Statistical Analysis of Students’Learning Effectiveness in Online Courses Offered by British Partners in China-UK Joint Education Program

In the context of internationalization,China-UK Joint Education Programs are receiving increasing attention from universities.Based on the difficulties faced in China-UK Joint Education Program,this paper adopts a questionnaire survey method to study the learning effectiveness of students majoring in digital media technology in the China-UK Joint Education Program at Guangxi University of Finance and Economics,focusing on four aspects:learning materials,learning content,teacher conditions,and student learning outcomes.The research analysis in this paper not only provides strong support for the construction of China-UK Joint Education Program but also offers references for other China-UK Joint Education Programs.

A Stacking Machine Learning Model for Student Performance Prediction Based on Class Activities in E-Learning

After the spread of COVID-19,e-learning systems have become crucial tools in educational systems worldwide,spanning all levels of education.This widespread use of e-learning platforms has resulted in the accumulation of vast amounts of valuable data,making it an attractive resource for predicting student performance.In this study,we aimed to predict student performance based on the analysis of data collected from the OULAD and Deeds datasets.The stacking method was employed for modeling in this research.The proposed model utilized weak learners,including nearest neighbor,decision tree,random forest,enhanced gradient,simple Bayes,and logistic regression algorithms.After a trial-and-error process,the logistic regression algorithm was selected as the final learner for the proposed model.The results of experiments with the above algorithms are reported separately for the pass and fail classes.The findings indicate that the accuracy of the proposed model on the OULAD dataset reached 98%.Overall,the proposed method improved accuracy by 4%on the OULAD dataset.

Efficient Intelligent E-Learning Behavior-Based Analytics of Student’s Performance Using Deep Forest Model

E-learning behavior data indicates several students’activities on the e-learning platform such as the number of accesses to a set of resources and number of participants in lectures.This article proposes a new analytics systemto support academic evaluation for students via e-learning activities to overcome the challenges faced by traditional learning environments.The proposed e-learning analytics system includes a new deep forest model.It consists of multistage cascade random forests with minimal hyperparameters compared to traditional deep neural networks.The developed forest model can analyze each student’s activities during the use of an e-learning platform to give accurate expectations of the student’s performance before ending the semester and/or the final exam.Experiments have been conducted on the Open University Learning Analytics Dataset(OULAD)of 32,593 students.Our proposed deep model showed a competitive accuracy score of 98.0%compared to artificial intelligence-based models,such as ConvolutionalNeuralNetwork(CNN)and Long Short-TermMemory(LSTM)in previous studies.That allows academic advisors to support expected failed students significantly and improve their academic level at the right time.Consequently,the proposed analytics system can enhance the quality of educational services for students in an innovative e-learning framework.

Effects of Perceived Teacher Support on Student Behavioral Engagement in the Blended Learning Environment:Learning Experience as a Mediator

Blended learning(BL)has been widely adopted to improve students’academic achievements in higher education.However,its success relies mainly on student engagement,which plays an essential role in active learning and provides a rich understanding of students’experiences.The study utilized three self-designed scales-the Teacher Support Scale,Student Engagement Scale,and Student Learning Experience Scale-to gauge and examine the impact and relationship between perceived teacher support,student behavioral engagement,and the intermediary role of learning experiences.A cohort of 899 college students undertaking the obligatory College English course through BL modes across five Chinese universities actively participated by completing a comprehensive questionnaire.The results showed significant correlations between perceived teacher support,learning experience,and behavioral engagement.Perceived teacher support significantly predicted students’behavioral engagement,with socio-affective support exerting the most substantial predictive effects.All predictive effects were partially mediated by learning experience(learning mode,online resources,overall LMS-based learning,interaction with their instructor and peers,and learning outcome).The influence of perceived teacher support on behavioral engagement differed between students who reported the most positive(vs.negative)learning experiences.Suggestions for further research are offered for consideration.

Effects and Causes of VR-Supported Interpreting Learning Environment on the Interpretation Classroom Anxiety of Student Interpreter

Interpreting activity is considered a high-anxiety activity due to its immediacy, multitasking, complexity of cognitive processing, and uncertainty of cognitive processing. Research has shown that interpreting anxiety, as the biggest emotional obstacle in the interpreting process, is the main emotional factor that leads to individual differences in interpreting. Students often claim to have fear or anxiety behaviors in interpreting exams, interpreting competitions, and interpreting classes. However, the research on interpreting teaching attaches importance to the cultivation of language knowledge, cultural knowledge, and interpreting skills, and does not pay enough attention to emotional factors such as motivation and anxiety in interpreting learning, which makes it difficult for the cultivated interpreters to meet the requirements of professional practice. In recent years, virtual reality technology (VR) has been gradually applied in the field of foreign language and interpreting teaching for creating a real, interactive and experiential language learning environment. Situated Learning Theory stresses that the fundamental mechanism for learning to take place is for individuals to participate in the real context in which knowledge is generated, and to realize the construction of knowledge through the interaction with the community of practice and the environment. Virtual reality technology can satisfy the needs of language learners for real contexts by providing learners with immersive, imaginative and interactive scenario simulations, and has a certain positive effect on alleviating learning anxiety. Therefore, relying on the virtual simulation course “United Nations Kubuqi International Desert Ecological Science and Technology Innovation International Volunteer Language Service Practical Training System”, this paper adopts a combination of quantitative and qualitative analyses to investigate the interpretation anxiety level of the interpreter trainees and the factors affecting them in the VR situation to help them discover effective responses to interpreter anxiety.

The Impact of Industry-Education Integration on College Students’ Motivation to Learn English under the TPACK Framework

This paper explores the impact of industry-education integration on students’motivation in college English courses under the TPACK(Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge)framework using a comprehensive approach combining quantitative and qualitative methods.Quantitative data analysis indicates a significant positive correlation between the perception of industry-education integration and the level of student learning motivation.There is also a clear association between the perception scores of TPACK framework integration and learning motivation.Qualitative data analysis reveals students’positive experiences and recognition of the TPACK framework integration in practical application projects.The study concludes that industry-education integration and the TPACK framework play a crucial role in enhancing students’learning motivation.It suggests optimizing teaching practices through faculty training,designing practical application projects,and promoting student interaction.This comprehensive analysis provides substantial guidance for the future development of English courses.

A Feature Learning-Based Model for Analyzing Students’ Performance in Supportive Learning

Supportive learning plays a substantial role in providing a quality edu-cation system.The evaluation of students’performance impacts their deeper insight into the subject knowledge.Specifically,it is essential to maintain the baseline foundation for building a broader understanding of their careers.This research concentrates on establishing the students’knowledge relationship even in reduced samples.Here,Synthetic Minority Oversampling TEchnique(SMOTE)technique is used for pre-processing the missing value in the provided input dataset to enhance the prediction accuracy.When the initial processing is not done substantially,it leads to misleading prediction accuracy.This research concentrates on modelling an efficient classifier model to predict students’perfor-mance.Generally,the online available student dataset comprises a lesser amount of sample,and k-fold cross-validation is performed to balance the dataset.Then,the relationship among the students’performance(features)is measured using the auto-encoder.The stacked Long Short Term Memory(s-LSTM)is used to learn the previous feedback connection.The stacked model handles the provided data and the data sequence for understanding the long-term dependencies.The simula-tion is done in the MATLAB 2020a environment,and the proposed model shows a better trade-off than the existing approaches.Some evaluation metrics like pre-diction accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,AUROC,F1-score and recall are evalu-ated using the proposed model.The performance of the s?LSTM model is compared with existing approaches.The proposed model gives 89% accuracy,83% precision,86%recall,and 87%F-score.The proposed model outperforms the existing systems in terms of the earlier metrics.

The Influence of Self-esteem on College Students’Learning Burnout:A Mediation Model

We measured 324 college students’self-esteem,motivation for achievement,and learning burnout,and also we examined the inner mechanism of self-esteem’s influence on students’learning burnout.The results show:(1)There is a negative effect of self-esteem on college students’learning burnout;(2)Motivation of pursuing succeed plays partial mediating effect between self-esteem and learning burnout,but mediating effect of avoiding failure motivation between them is not significant.The study reveals that:the degree of learning burnout can be reduced by improving college students’level of self-esteem.

Research on the Influencing Factors of College Students’Learning Experience in Livestreaming Courses

The learning experience of online courses has always been a hot topic.As livestreaming courses are online courses with real-time interaction between instructors and students,its learning experience directly affects the learning behavior and effect.The evaluation indicators related to online course learning experience were combined with the attitudes of scholars,enterprise practitioners,and learners in livestreaming courses.When the questionnaire was designed,the exploratory and confirmatory factors were analyzed,the Questionnaire on Learning Experience of College Students in Livestreaming Courses was developed to evaluate the learning experience of college students attending livestreaming courses.Last but not the least,based on the survey data,important factors affecting college students’learning experience in livestreaming courses,including course content,learning environment,course interaction,and learning incentives were discussed and analyzed;strategies to optimize the learning experience in livestreaming courses were proposed.
