It is of crucial importance to investigate the spatial structures of ancient landslides in the eastern Tibetan Plateau’s alpine canyons as they could provide valuable insights into the evolutionary history of the lan...It is of crucial importance to investigate the spatial structures of ancient landslides in the eastern Tibetan Plateau’s alpine canyons as they could provide valuable insights into the evolutionary history of the landslides and indicate the potential for future reactivation.This study examines the Deda ancient landslide,situated in the Chalong-ranbu fault zone,where creep deformation suggests a complex underground structure.By integrating remote sensing,field surveys,Audio-frequency Magnetotellurics(AMT),and Microtremor Survey Method(MSM)techniques,along with engineering geological drilling for validation,to uncover the landslide’s spatial feature s.The research indicates that a fault is developed in the upper part of the Deda ancient landslide,and the gully divides it into Deda landslide accumulation zoneⅠand Deda landslide accumulation zoneⅡin space.The distinctive geological characteristics detectable by MSM in the shallow subsurface and by AMT in deeper layers.The findings include the identification of two sliding zones in the Deda I landslide,the shallow sliding zone(DD-I-S1)depth is approximately 20 m,and the deep sliding zone(DD-I-S2)depth is 36.2-49.9 m.The sliding zone(DD-Ⅱ-S1)depth of the DedaⅡlandslide is 37.6-43.1 m.A novel MSM-based method for sliding zone identification is proposed,achieving less than 5%discrepancy in depth determination when compared with drilling data.These results provide a valuable reference for the spatial structural analysis of large-deepseated landslides in geologically complex regions like the eastern Tibetan Plateau.展开更多

The spectroscopic survey of LAMOST provides a good opportunity to determine ...The [α/Fe] ratios in stars are good tracers to probe the formation history of stellar populations and the chemical evolution of the Galaxy. The spectroscopic survey of LAMOST provides a good opportunity to determine [α/Fe] of millions of stars in the Galaxy. We present a method of measuring the [α/Fe]ratios from LAMOST spectra using the template-matching technique of the LSP3 pipeline. We use three test samples of stars selected from the ELODIE and MILES libraries, as well as the LEGUE survey to validate our method. Based on the test results, we conclude that our method is valid for measuring [α/Fe]from low-resolution spectra acquired by the LAMOST survey. Within the range of the stellar parameters Teff= [5000, 7500] K, log g = [1.0, 5.0] dex and [Fe/H]= [onsistent with values derived from high-resolution spectra,-1.5, +0.5] dex, our [α/Fe] measurements are c and the accuracy of our [α/Fe] measurements from LAMOST spectra is better than 0.1 dex with spectral signal-to-noise higher than 20.展开更多

We integrate these two prob- lems into one interrelated problem, and consider them sim...Object correlation and maneuver detection are persistent problems in space surveillance and maintenance of a space object catalog. We integrate these two prob- lems into one interrelated problem, and consider them simultaneously under a sce- nario where space objects only perform a single in-track orbital maneuver during the time intervals between observations. We mathematically formulate this integrated sce- nario as a maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimation. In this work, we propose a novel approach to solve the MAP estimation. More precisely, the corresponding posterior probability of an orbital maneuver and a joint association event can be approximated by the Joint Probabilistic Data Association (JPDA) algorithm. Subsequently, the ma- neuvering parameters are estimated by optimally solving the constrained non-linear least squares iterative process based on the second-order cone programming (SOCP) algorithm. The desired solution is derived according to the MAP criterions. The per- formance and advantages of the proposed approach have been shown by both theoret- ical analysis and simulation results. We hope that our work will stimulate future work on space surveillance and maintenance of a space object catalog.展开更多
Spain is the country with the most Biosphere Reserves in the world,52,and Asturias,with 7,ranks first among the single-province Autonomous Communities.The tourist interest in these natural spaces is increasing,but lit...Spain is the country with the most Biosphere Reserves in the world,52,and Asturias,with 7,ranks first among the single-province Autonomous Communities.The tourist interest in these natural spaces is increasing,but little or nothing is known about how the residents of these natural spaces perceive the tourist impacts.The main objective of this research was to evaluate the residents’perceived changes in protected mountain areas in Asturias concerning the environmental,sociocultural,and economic dimensions related to tourism activity with survey methods and various quantitative tools.The findings obtained were the following:firstly,there were significant differences between the residents’sociodemographic characteristics and their perceptions of tourism impacts;secondly,there were positive relationships between the residents’perceived tourism economic,environmental and sociocultural impacts and their general attitude towards tourism development;and thirdly,the more positive the residents’attitude towards tourism development,the more likely residents actively support its further development.The findings indicate the willingness of residents to get involved and participate in the tourism activity,so policymakers should implicate residents in decisionmaking on local tourism development.In conclusion,long-term monitoring of residents’evolution of their perceptions and attitudes is necessary to achieve sustainable tourism development.展开更多

Many households are suffering from chronic water shortages ...Water is essential for human life and it’s expected to be clean and safe. In Cameroon, government efforts to improve access to drinking water are mitigated. Many households are suffering from chronic water shortages leading to the majority of people using doubtful water sources. This study was carried out in accordance with guidelines produced by the STARBIOS2-EU funded project on Responsible Research and Innovation and aimed to assess the microbiological quality of water samples collected from domestic water sources in 3 divisions of the West region of Cameroon. 22 water samples from well water, stream, water pump and river were aseptically collected. At each sampling point, 50 mL of sample was taken aseptically and immediately transported to the laboratory for analysis. The detection of Coliforms bacteria was done using Micro Biological Survey (MBS) method. 1 mL of each sample was inoculated in the Coliforms MBS (Coli MBS) vial initially rehydrated with 10 mL of sterile distilled water. The Coli MBS vials were closed, shaken for homogenization, and then incubated at 37<span style="white-space:nowrap;">°</span>C. From the initial red color of the Coli MBS vials, changes in color to yellow of the reaction vials were monitored at three different time intervals (12 h, 19 h and 24 h), corresponding to three levels of bacterial concentration. All positives samples on MBS method were selected to determine the presence of <em>E. coli</em> Loop full broths of Coli MBS vials were taken;streaked into the eosin methylene blue (EMB) agar plate and incubated at 37°C for 24 hours. <em>E. coli</em> was confirmed by observing green metallic sheen on EMB agar plate. The biochemical indole, methyl red, Voges-Proskauer and citrate (IMViC) test was performed to determine the complete microbiological profile of the water samples. Almost all the water samples were contaminated with Total Coliforms (TC). A high concentration of TC (>10<sup>3</sup> CFU/mL) was found in 8 samples (36.4%), a medium concentration (10 < x < 10<sup>3</sup> CFU/mL) was observed in 10 samples (45.5%) and 2 samples (9.1%) were low concentrated (1 < x < 10 CFU/mL). 8 samples were positive for the presence of <em>E. coli</em> by observing the green metallic sheen on EMB agar plates. The IMViC test confirmed the presences of 5 bacteria species: <em>Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., E. coli spp., Salmonella spp.</em> and Shigella spp. We recommend integrating sanitary assessment in the design and implementation of water supply projects. Regular water purification using proper methods and maintenances of the water point. Regular microbiological quality assessment of water intended for human consumption should be planned and carried out.展开更多

The prominent product in this island is "agar-agar" also known as Tambalang (local name) and other marine resources. This study determined the effects of migration to the marine ecosystem of the place. Survey method and interview schedule were used during the data gathering. Results show that most migrants came to plant seaweeds or agar-agar. Poverty motivated them to migrate in the area. The abundance of marine resources also is one of the factors for migration for these people. They experienced poverty and economic crisis in their previous place which motivated them to explore and migrate to support their basic needs.展开更多

In this work, we provide 2189 photometrically- and kinematically-selected candidate members of 24 star clusters from the LAMOST DR2 catalog. We perform two-step membership identification: selection along the stellar ...In this work, we provide 2189 photometrically- and kinematically-selected candidate members of 24 star clusters from the LAMOST DR2 catalog. We perform two-step membership identification: selection along the stellar track in the colormagnitude diagram, i.e., photometric identification, and selection from the distribution of radial velocities, i.e. the kinematic identification. We find that the radial velocities from the LAMOST data are very helpful in the membership identification. The mean probability of membership is 40% for the sample selected with radial velocity. With these 24 star clusters, we investigate the performance of the radial velocity and metallicity estimated with the LAMOST pipeline. We find that the systematic offsets in radial velocity and metallicity are 0.85 ± 1.26 km s-1and-0.08 ± 0.04 dex, with dispersions of 5.47+1.16-0.71 km s-1and 0.13+0.04-0.02 dex, respectively. Finally, we propose that the photometrically-selected candidate members of the clusters covered by the LAMOST footprint should be assigned higher priority so that more candidate stars can be observed.展开更多

XSTPS-GAC is the photometric part of the Digital Sky Survey of the Galactic Anti-...Abstract We present astrometric calibration of the Xuyi Schmidt Telescope Photometric Survey of the Galactic Anti-center (XSTPS-GAC). XSTPS-GAC is the photometric part of the Digital Sky Survey of the Galactic Anti-center (DSS-GAC), which is a photometric and spectroscopic sky survey, in combination with LAMOST. In order to select an astrometric reference catalog, we made comparisons between the four widely used astrometric catalogs, GSC2.3, USNO-B1.0, UCAC3 and PPMXL. PPMXL shows relatively small systematic errors in positions and more homogeneous proper motion distributions toward the Galactic Anti-center (GAC), and was selected as the reference catalog. Based on the high quality and bright reference stars that were picked out from PPMXL, we performed a 4th-order polynomial fitting in image units, to construct the transformation relation between coordinates used by XSTPS-GAC and standard coordinates, and to simultaneously correct the image distortions in the CCD. Then we applied the derived relation to all sources to obtain their mean celestial coordinates based on the Intemational Celestial Reference System. For bright point sources with r 〈 17.0 mag, the accuracy of astrometric calibration could reach about 80 mas for each of the g, r, i bands, with systematic errors being less than 10 mas. But for the faint sources at the brightness limit of the survey, which was r - 19.0 mag, the accuracy can still reach 200 mas. After combining all observations, the final weighted average coordinates could reach an accuracy of less than 70 mas for bright stars. For faint stars, the rms residuals of weighted coordinates decrease to -110 mas. The final combined XSTPS-GAC coordinates show a good consistency with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.展开更多
Sufficient survey data are required to describe the stochastic behaviors of live loads.However,due to manual and on-site operation required by traditional survey methods,traditional surveys face challenges like occupa...Sufficient survey data are required to describe the stochastic behaviors of live loads.However,due to manual and on-site operation required by traditional survey methods,traditional surveys face challenges like occupant resistance,high costs,and long implementation periods.This study proposes a new survey method to access live load data online and automatically.Required samples are acquired from multi-source,open-access and dynamically updated data on the Internet.The change intervals,geometrical dimensions and object quantities are obtained from transaction information,building attributes and virtual reality models on real estate websites,respectively.The object weights are collected from commodity information on e-commerce websites.The integration of the aforementioned data allows for the extraction of necessary statistics to describe a live load process.The proposed method is applied to a live load survey in China,covering 20040 m^(2),with around 90000 samples acquired for object weights and load changes.The survey results reveal that about 70%−80%of the amplitude statistics are attributable to 1/6 of the total object types.展开更多

This study determined the effects of migration to the marine ecosystem of the place. Survey method and interview schedule were used during the data gathering. Results show that most migrants came to plant seaweeds or agar-agar. Poverty motivated them to migrate in the area. The abundance of marine resources also is one of the factors for migration for these people. They experienced poverty and economic crisis in their previous place which motivated them to explore and migrate to support their basic needs.
文摘Hydropower cascade development have brought considerable economic benefits to flood control, irrigation, power supply, but the positive or negative impact for the ecological environment at the same time. The scope of the environmental impact of cascade hydropower development projects is larger, lasted longer, have influential groupment, systematicness, cumulativity, sweep property and the potential. This paper expounds the ecological status survey method, analyzing the influence of hydropowcr cascade development on water temperature, aquatic plants and so on. In order to realize the harmonious development of hydropower and ecology, taking the "ecological regulation"the measures in the operation of cascade hydropower stations.

文摘In this work, we provide 2189 photometrically- and kinematically-selected candidate members of 24 star clusters from the LAMOST DR2 catalog. We perform two-step membership identification: selection along the stellar track in the colormagnitude diagram, i.e., photometric identification, and selection from the distribution of radial velocities, i.e. the kinematic identification. We find that the radial velocities from the LAMOST data are very helpful in the membership identification. The mean probability of membership is 40% for the sample selected with radial velocity. With these 24 star clusters, we investigate the performance of the radial velocity and metallicity estimated with the LAMOST pipeline. We find that the systematic offsets in radial velocity and metallicity are 0.85 ± 1.26 km s-1and-0.08 ± 0.04 dex, with dispersions of 5.47+1.16-0.71 km s-1and 0.13+0.04-0.02 dex, respectively. Finally, we propose that the photometrically-selected candidate members of the clusters covered by the LAMOST footprint should be assigned higher priority so that more candidate stars can be observed.

文摘Abstract We present astrometric calibration of the Xuyi Schmidt Telescope Photometric Survey of the Galactic Anti-center (XSTPS-GAC). XSTPS-GAC is the photometric part of the Digital Sky Survey of the Galactic Anti-center (DSS-GAC), which is a photometric and spectroscopic sky survey, in combination with LAMOST. In order to select an astrometric reference catalog, we made comparisons between the four widely used astrometric catalogs, GSC2.3, USNO-B1.0, UCAC3 and PPMXL. PPMXL shows relatively small systematic errors in positions and more homogeneous proper motion distributions toward the Galactic Anti-center (GAC), and was selected as the reference catalog. Based on the high quality and bright reference stars that were picked out from PPMXL, we performed a 4th-order polynomial fitting in image units, to construct the transformation relation between coordinates used by XSTPS-GAC and standard coordinates, and to simultaneously correct the image distortions in the CCD. Then we applied the derived relation to all sources to obtain their mean celestial coordinates based on the Intemational Celestial Reference System. For bright point sources with r 〈 17.0 mag, the accuracy of astrometric calibration could reach about 80 mas for each of the g, r, i bands, with systematic errors being less than 10 mas. But for the faint sources at the brightness limit of the survey, which was r - 19.0 mag, the accuracy can still reach 200 mas. After combining all observations, the final weighted average coordinates could reach an accuracy of less than 70 mas for bright stars. For faint stars, the rms residuals of weighted coordinates decrease to -110 mas. The final combined XSTPS-GAC coordinates show a good consistency with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.

文摘Sufficient survey data are required to describe the stochastic behaviors of live loads.However,due to manual and on-site operation required by traditional survey methods,traditional surveys face challenges like occupant resistance,high costs,and long implementation periods.This study proposes a new survey method to access live load data online and automatically.Required samples are acquired from multi-source,open-access and dynamically updated data on the Internet.The change intervals,geometrical dimensions and object quantities are obtained from transaction information,building attributes and virtual reality models on real estate websites,respectively.The object weights are collected from commodity information on e-commerce websites.The integration of the aforementioned data allows for the extraction of necessary statistics to describe a live load process.The proposed method is applied to a live load survey in China,covering 20040 m^(2),with around 90000 samples acquired for object weights and load changes.The survey results reveal that about 70%−80%of the amplitude statistics are attributable to 1/6 of the total object types.
