Suzhou is located in the eastern part of China,and has a relatively developed economy. Based on local conditions,the local population and family planning department explored a new focus in the reform of family planning work,based on the goal of providing legalized,personalized, socialized and market-oriented family planning services.The reform employed the following practices.

What is already known about this topic?The early onset of puberty increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases.Limited research has focused on the association between the onset of puberty,based on sudden increases in height,and obesity in late adolescence.What is added by this report?This report assessed the age at take-off and age at peak height velocity for children and adolescents in China from 2012 to 2020.The results indicated that age at take-off and age at peak height velocity were negatively associated with the risk of late adolescence obesity in boys,independent of childhood body mass index;however,no similar association was found in girls.What are the implications for public health practice?Puberty timing influences adiposity.Effective monitoring and management of pubertal development are necessary,and attention should be paid to sex differences.

Teffichthys wui sp. nov., a new perleidid fish from the Early Triassic of Jiangsu and Anhui, China

Perleididae is a group of stem neopterygian fishes known only from the Triassic.Here,we report the discovery of a new perleidid,Teffichthys wui sp.nov.,based on six well-preserved specimens from the late Smithian(Olenekian,Early Triassic)marine deposits of Jurong,Jiangsu and Chaohu,Anhui,China.This new discovery documents the third and youngest species of Teffichthys,which is slightly younger than the Dienerian(Induan)T.elegans from Guizhou and the early Smithian T.madagascariensis from Madagascar.The new species shows diagnostic features of Teffichthys(presence of a spiracular,38-41 lateral line scales,and no more than three epaxial rays in the caudal fin)but differs from T.madagascariensis and T.elegans in some autapomorphies(e.g.,a horizontal opercle/subopercle contact and smooth scales with a nearly straight posterior margin).The diagnostic features for the genus Teffichthys and the family Perleididae are emended based on detailed comparisons of the new taxon with other perleidids.The phylogenetic relationships of perleidids with other stem neopterygians are discussed using a cladistic approach,and the results provide new insights into the phylogeny and classification of main stem neopterygian clades.

Spatial diversion and coordination of flood water for an urban flood control project in Suzhou, China

Suzhou City,located in the Yangtze River Delta in China,is prone to flooding due to a complex combination of natural factors,including its monsoon climate,low elevation,and tidally influenced position,as well as intensive human activities.The Large Encirclement Flood Control Project(LEFCP)was launched to cope with serious floods in the urban area.This project changed the spatiotemporal pattern of flood processes and caused spatial diversion of floods from the urban area to the outskirts of the city.Therefore,this study developed a distributed flood simulation model in order to understand this transition of flood processes.The results revealed that the LEFCP effectively protected the urban areas from floods,but the present scheduling schemes resulted in the spatial diversion of floods to the outskirts of the city.With rainstorm frequencies of 10.0%to 0.5%,the water level differences between two representative water level stations(Miduqiao(MDQ)and Fengqiao(FQ))located inside and outside the LEFCP area,ranged from 0.75 m to 0.24 m and from 1.80 m to 1.58 m,respectively.In addition,the flood safety margin at MDQ and the duration with the water level exceeding the warning water level at FQ ranged from 0.95 m to 0.43 m and from 4 h to 22 h,respectively.Rational scheduling schemes for the hydraulic facilities of the LEFCP in extreme precipitation cases were developed ac-cording to food simulations under seven scheduling scenarios.This helps to regulate the spatial flood diversion caused by the LEFCP during extreme precipitation.

Touring Pattern of Chinese Classical Gardens Based on VR and Eye Tracking Experiment:A Case Study of Canglang Pavilion Garden in Suzhou City

Classical Chinese gardens,with their intricate interplay of architectural landscapes featuring narrow corridors and expansive courtyards,are designed to surprise and captivate visitors at every turn.Unraveling the connection between visual perception,walking behaviors,and the spatial elements of these garden compounds is essential to grasping the essence of traditional Chinese garden design.This study employs Virtual Reality(VR)and eye-tracking technologies to evaluate the touring patterns within Chinese classical gardens,with a case study focusing on the Canglang Pavilion Garden in Suzhou.A total of 68 participants were enlisted to engage in a VR experiment simulating a visit to a courtyard space within this garden.The study analyzed route choices between 2 distinct spatial types:corridor-architecture and courtyard-wall.Eye movement indicators within the Areas of Interest(AOIs)for frame-of-view and depth-of-view spatial elements were monitored,and visitors’spatial-temporal trajectory maps were documented.This research offers valuable insights into the intricate dynamics between visual attention,spatial elements,and visitor behavior within garden environments.The methodology applied in this study has broad implications for environmental psychology,landscape architecture,and the study of cultural heritage sites,providing a deeper understanding of the interactions and perceptions of visitors within garden spaces.

The Impact of The Three-Dimensional Cultivation Model on the Development of the Suzhou Tea Industry:Estimating Value of Output Per Acre and Diversified Sales Models

Based on the survey of vertical greening plants in Suzhou classical gardens, the paper had introduced plants varieties for vertical greening in the gardens, and pointed out that it was one of the common techniques for vertical greening landscaping to make use of vine plants. An Overview of Coilia ectenes in Jiangsu Section of the Yangtze River

Anchovies are migratory fish and adult individuals migrate in group from the sea into the river every year because of reproductive needs. TheYangtze River is the largest river in China, with rich food and fish species, hence, the Yangtze River would be an ideal habitat for growth and reproduction of anchovy. In this pa- per, based on fishing log data of anchovy in Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River, realted analysis was conducted in digital map using statistical software and GIS. From 2008 to 2011, the number of anchovy fishing vessels and fishing days in Jiangsu section remained stable, but the fishing volume and economic profit of single-vessel fluctuated constantly. This study provides references and advices for plan and management of anchovy fishery resource to administrative department.

Evaluation on Ecological Urban Construction of Suzhou City in China from Outward Appearance to Inner Essence

After the discussion of accomplishments of ecological urban construction in Suzhou City, the current ecological urban construction in Suzhou has been compared with the national standard for ecological urban construction. According to the actual situation of Suzhou urban construction, the health evaluation index system and standards for urban eco-system have been established based on natural, economic and social sub-system. By using mean square deviation, indexes' weights have been identified. After the quantitative research on the health condition of urban eco-system in Suzhou City from 2004 to 2008, it has found key problems existing in its ecological urban construction. The results show that Suzhou urban eco-system develops well in general, but the three sub-systems are coordinated with each other moderately, and natural sub-system suffers severe pressure.

Study on Main Chemical Compositions of Rice Straw in Three Different Areas of Jiangsu Province

[Objective] The research was aimed to study the main chemical composi- tions of rice straw in the three different areas of Jiangsu Province. [Method] The cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin and crude ash of rice straw collected in Huaian, Changzhou and Zhenjiang of Jiangsu Province during 2011-2013 were determined. [Result] The change trends of cellulose and hemicellulose in three arrears in differ- ent years were consistent. The cellulose content increased after falling, and hemi- cellulose content presented declining tendency. The lignin content of rice straw fist rose then declined in Huaian and Changzhou in different years, while it presented the declining tendency in Zhenjiang. The ash content of rice straw changed little and was all less than 65% in the three areas in different years. And the chemical composition of rice straw changed significantly in different years. [Conclusion] The research could provide basis for high added-value use of crop straw.

Numerical simulation of typhoon- induced storm surge on the coast of Jiangsu Province,China,based on coupled hydrodynamic and wave models

In order to facilitate engineering design and coastal flooding protection, the potential storm surge induced by a typhoon is studied.Using an unstructured mesh, a coupled model which combines the advanced circulation （ ADCIRC ） hydrodynamic model and simulating waves nearshore （ SWAN ） model is applied to analyze the storm surge and waves on the coast of Jiangsu Province.The verifications of wind velocity, tidal levels and wave height show that this coupling model performs well to reflect the characteristics of the water levels and waves in the studied region.Results show that the effect of radiation stress on storm surge is significant, especially in shallow areas such as the coast of Jiangsu Province and the Yangtze estuary.By running the coupled model, the simulated potential flooding results can be employed in coastal engineering applications in the Jiangsu coastal area, such as storm surge warnings and extreme water level predictions.

Analysis on Superior Features and Development Value of Water Tourist Resource in Jiangsu Province of China

In view of the fact that water resource had been taken as the focus of tourism development in Jiangsu Province, the paper had analyzed superior features of water tourist resource in Jiangsu Province, and summarized geographic features and plentiful water resources in Jiangsu. It emphasized that water resource was large in amount and river flew through most cities; that water resource was widely distributed and national AAAAA and AAAA scenic areas (spots) with water resource spread all over the province; that water resource was diversified in types and it could be divided into reaches, natural lakes and pools, springs, waterfalls, river mouths and lake surfaces; that water tourist resource was high in taste, strong in function and high in overall quality; and that water resource played a distinct role in landscape structure, which could not only constitute the main feature in isolation, but also lend people the sense of beauty through multiple landscaping factors. Based on the comprehensive evaluation on superior features of water resource in Jiangsu Province, it had proposed practical value for water tourism development, which was providing reference for scientific tourism planning, offering tourists abundant tourist products, shaping tourism brand image with distinct personality, creating a new growth pole and enhancing the protection of water resource.

"One Brand for One Village"Planning of Qingzhong Loquat Sightseeing Park in Jinting Township of Suzhou City,China

The planning and design of Qingzhong Loquat Sightseeing Park in Jinting Township, Wuzhong District, Suzhou City was taken for an example, industrial development, advantages and disadvantages of the study area were analyzed. Design concepts and techniques of"One Brand for One Village"for Qingzhong Loquat Sightseeing Park were introduced from the perspectives of project orientation, planning concepts, functional division, scenic spot design, infrastructure planning and so on. Six ancient relics and three grotesque trees were introduced to expound the planning scheme of typical landscapes. Finally, the architectural control planning from the perspectives of height and style was stressed. The planning scheme broke common restraints of other similar parks, such as poor infrastructure and disordered garden constructions, proposed the planning concept of"building a modern eco-agricultural sightseeing fruit park mainly for production but also integrating functions of tourism, ecological picking, recreation and entertainment", providing a basis for building "One Brand for One Village" and realizing the high-efficiency scale-development of agriculture.
