By applying switch-signal theory, the interaction between MOS transmission switch-ing transistor and current signal in current-mode CMOS circuits is analyzed, and the theory oftransmission current-switches which is suitable to current-mode CMOS circuits is proposed. Thecircuits, such as ternary full-adder etc., designed by using this theory have simpler circuit struc-tures and correct logic functions. Anumber of all pole and elliptic (second-or third-order) switched-current (SI) filters are derivedfrom the switched capacitor prototypes. These can be used as simple self-contained filters or asfilter sections in the cascaded realizations of a higher order transfer functions. By analysing problems in the traditional design theory of digital circuits it is proposed that both switching variable and signal variable should be adopted for describing the switching state of internal elements and signal in digital circuits respectively.Based on the above viewpoint the switch-signal theory is established.According to the working principle in CMOS circuits,the related design technique at switch level is developed.By using the practical design examples it is shown that the circuits designed at switch level have simpler structures than their counterparts designed at the traditional gate level since the switch transistors are used as construction units in designs. 展开更多

The basic indexes of all-optical integrated photonic circuits include high-density integration,ultrafast response and ultralow energy consumption.Traditional methods mainly adopt conventional micro/nano-structures.The overall size of the circuit is large,usually reaches hundreds of microns.Besides,it is difficult to balance the ultrafast response and ultra-low energy consumption problem,and the crosstalk between two traditional devices is difficult to overcome.Here,we propose and experimentally demonstrate an approach based on inverse design method to realize a high-density,ultrafast and ultra-low energy consumption integrated photonic circuit with two all-optical switches controlling the input states of an all-optical XOR logic gate.The feature size of the whole circuit is only 2.5μm×7μm,and that of a single device is 2μm×2μm.The distance between two adjacent devices is as small as 1.5μm,within wavelength magnitude scale.Theoretical response time of the circuit is 150 fs,and the threshold energy is within 10 fJ/bit.We have also considered the crosstalk problem.The circuit also realizes a function of identifying two-digit logic signal results.Our work provides a new idea for the design of ultrafast,ultra-low energy consumption all-optical devices and the implementation of high-density photonic integrated circuits. 展开更多

By researching the ternary counter and low power circuit design method, a novel design of low power ternary Domino counter on switch-level is proposed. Firstly, the switch-level structure expression of ternary loop operation circuit with enable pin is derived according to the switch-signal theory, and the one bit ternary counter is obtained combining the ternary adiabatic Domino literal operation circuit and buffer. Then the switch-level structure expression of enable signal circuit is derived, and the four bits ternary counter is obtained by cascade connection. Finally, the circuit is simulated by Spice tool and the output waveforms transform in proper order indicating that the logic function is correct. The energy consumption of the four bits ternary adiabatic Domino counter is 63% less than the conventional Domino counterpart. 展开更多
