To illustrate how firms and customers co-create value in business to business (B2B) e-commerce, an integrated value co-creation model is proposed based on information systems (IS) application capabilities from the relational view. IS application capabilities, relational assets, customer agility and relational value are constructed and tested by empirical analysis. The empirical research tests and verifies the mediating effect of customer agility, and the interactions of IS application capabilities and relational assets, as well as their effect on relational value. This model expands the research framework of value co-creation in service dominant logic, and reveals the mechanism of how f'n'ms and customers co-create value in B2B e-commerce based on IS application capabilities, which provides the basis for further theory development and a practice guide. 展开更多

Based on convenience and safety of historical data application, B/S mode is used instead of database management structure of C/S mode, and it can not only combine database and network, but also realize the safe use of historical data online. High-level programming language is used to develop a online management and application system of historical meteorological data based on B/S mode. System data import function can import ground report file sequence of Xuzhou ( including five county-level stations) into the database, construct Oracle database of Xuzhou and the five stations since 1953, and establish data tables of time, day, ten-day, monthly, quarterly and annual historical data, weather information and so forth. Management software of database server is established to realize instruction-level management and scheduling of database and a balanced distribution of resources among users. At the same time, a Web-based management application interface is set up to meet users' needs to retrieve a variety of repositories, and it provides statistical query of time, day, ten-day, monthly, quarterly and annual historical data and climate data for each meteorological element, thereby meeting the needs of meteorological research and all sectors of society for statistical query of meteorological data. 展开更多

Based on the asymptotic spectral distribution of Wigner matrices, a new normality test method is proposed via reforming the white noise sequence. In this work, the asymptotic cumulative distribution function (CDF) of eigenvalues of the Wigner matrix is deduced. A numerical Kullback-Leibler divergence of the empiric-d spectral CDF based on test samples from the deduced asymptotic CDF is established, which is treated as the test statistic. For validating the superiority of our proposed normality test, we apply the method to weak SIPSK signal detection in the single-input single-output (SISO) system and the single-input multiple-output (SIMO) system. By comparing with other common normality tests and the existing signal detection methods, simulation results show that the proposed method is superior and robust. 展开更多

Predictive Emission Monitoring Systems (PEMS) offer a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) for monitoring pollution from industrial sources. Multiple regression is one of the fundamental statistical techniques to describe the relationship between dependent and independent variables. This model can be effectively used to develop a PEMS, to estimate the amount of pollution emitted by industrial sources, where the fuel composition and other process-related parameters are available. It often makes them sufficient to predict the emission discharge with acceptable accuracy. In cases where PEMS are accepted as an alternative method to CEMS, which use gas analyzers, they can provide cost savings and substantial benefits for ongoing system support and maintenance. The described mathematical concept is based on the matrix algebra representation in multiple regression involving multiple precision arithmetic techniques. Challenging numerical examples for statistical big data analysis, are investigated. Numerical examples illustrate computational accuracy and efficiency of statistical analysis due to increasing the precision level. The programming language C++ is used for mathematical model implementation. The data for research and development, including the dependent fuel and independent NOx emissions data, were obtained from CEMS software installed on a petrochemical plant. 展开更多

In this paper, we propose a video searching system that utilizes face recognition as searching indexing feature. As the applications of video cameras have great increase in recent years, face recognition makes a perfect fit for searching targeted individuals within the vast amount of video data. However, the performance of such searching depends on the quality of face images recorded in the video signals. Since the surveillance video cameras record videos without fixed postures for the object, face occlusion is very common in everyday video. The proposed system builds a model for occluded faces using fuzzy principal component analysis(FPCA), and reconstructs the human faces with the available information. Experimental results show that the system has very high efficiency in processing the real life videos, and it is very robust to various kinds of face occlusions. Hence it can relieve people reviewers from the front of the monitors and greatly enhances the efficiency as well. The proposed system has been installed and applied in various environments and has already demonstrated its power by helping solving real cases. 展开更多

Mitigating the adverse effects of uncertainty in appointment systems,arising from heterogeneous patient needs and preferences,is critical to the effective use of scarce medical resources and patient satisfaction.This study addresses an online scheduling problem with multiple servers and consideration of patient preference for physicians and their appointment times.The receptionist immediately determines whether a request should be accommodated and offers an appointment time slot for each accepted patient request.The patient may reject an undesirable appointment time slot with a certain probability,or may accept it,but the no-show probability will be higher.A stochastic overbooking model is formulated to maximize the expected profit,which is defined as the revenue generated from accepted requests minus the cost incurred by patients waiting and physicians’overtime.A myopic scheduling policy is developed based on certain structural properties of the objective function.This study advances the study of appointment systems by generating a non-unimodal profit evolution.Moreover,both the decision of accommodating more requests for certain slots and the scheduling of appointments depend on the patient choice rather than the patient type.Further,computational experiments and analysis offer valuable insights into performance improvement in outpatient clinics. 展开更多
