In this work, a method for characterizing elastic constants of FDM-fabricated materials is proposed. First of all, according to the manufacturing process of FDM, orthotropic constitutive model is used to describe the mechanical behavior. Then the virtual fields method(VFM) is applied to characterize all the mechanical parameters(Q, Q, Q, Q) using the full-field strain, which is measured by digital image correlation(DIC). Since the principal axis of the FDM-fabricated structure is sometimes unknown due to the complexity of the manufacturing process, a disk in diametrical compression is used as the load configuration so that the loading angle can be changed conveniently. To verify the feasibility of the proposed method, finite element method(FEM) simulation is conducted to obtain the strain field of the disk. The simulation results show that higher accuracy can be achieved when the loading angle is close to 30?. Finally, a disk fabricated by FDM was used for the experiment. By rotating the disk, several tests with different loading angles were conducted. To determine the position of the principal axis in each test, two groups of parameters(Q, Q, Q, Q) are calculated by two different groups of virtual fields. Then the corresponding loading angle can be determined by minimizing the deviation between two groups of the parameters. After that, the four constants(Q, Q, Q, Q) were determined from the test with an angle of 27?.展开更多

Performance of this kind of parts is closely related to the geometrical and physical parameters, so the final actual size and shape are affected by multiple source constraints, such as geometry, physics, and performance. These parts are rather difficult to be manufactured and new manufacturing method according to performance requirement is urgently needed. Based on performance and manufacturing requirements for complex curved surface parts, a new classification method is proposed, which divided the complex curved surface parts into two categories: surface re-design complex curved surface parts with multi-source constraints(PRCS) and surface unique complex curved surface parts with pure geometric constraints(PUCS). A correlation model is constructed between the performance and multi-source constraints for PRCS, which reveals the correlation between the performance and multi-source constraints. W., JIN, G. D., and ZHAO, X. Scale-similarity model for Lagrangian velocity correlations in isotropic and stationary turbulence. Physical Review E, 80, 066313(2009)). The model can be expressed as a two-point Eulerian space correlation and the dispersion velocity V. The dispersion velocity denotes the rate at which one moving particle departs from another fixed particle. This paper numerically validates the robustness of the scale-similarity model at high Taylor micro-scale Reynolds numbers up to 373, which are much higher than the original values(R_λ = 66, 102). The effect of the Reynolds number on the dispersion velocity in the scale-similarity model is carefully investigated. The results show that the scale-similarity model is more accurate at higher Reynolds numbers because the two-point Lagrangian velocity correlations with different initial spatial separations collapse into a universal form compared with a combination of the initial separation and the temporal separation via the dispersion velocity. Moreover, the dispersion velocity V normalized by the Kolmogorov velocity V_η ≡ η/τ_η in which η and τ_η are the Kolmogorov space and time scales, respectively, scales with the Reynolds number R_λ as V/V_η ∝ R_λ^(1.39) obtained from the numerical data.展开更多

The residual error distribution and statistical study showed that the developed model was reasonable and reliable and able to predict the mass fraction of sulfur compounds in naphtha. The correlation model can provide theoretical guidance and operation base for adjusting process parameters to produce EURO IV gasoline by the MIP units. The model was validated by its application on the MIP unit of Qingdao Refining & Chemical Company. On this unit, the tail oil with low sulfur content obtained via hydrotreating gas oil was used as the feedstock and the olefin content of naphtha was reduced by promoting hydrogen transfer reaction through adjustment of process parameters. The accuracy of the model can influence the performance of the video coder directly. A mixture correlation noise model in Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) domain for WZ video coding is established in this paper. Different correlation noise estimation method is used for direct current and alternating current coefficients. Parameter estimation method based on expectation maximization algorithm is used to estimate the Laplace distribution center of direct current frequency band and Mixture Laplace-Uniform Distribution Model (MLUDM) is established for alternating current coefficients. Experimental results suggest that the proposed mixture correlation noise model can describe the heavy tail and sudden change of the noise accurately at high rate and make significant improvement on the coding efficiency compared with the noise model presented by DIStributed COding for Video sERvices (DISCOVER).展开更多

For design flood estimation, coaxial correlation diagram and conceptual hydrological model are two frequently used tools to adjust and reconstruct the flood series under human disturbance. This study took a typical mountain catchment of the Haihe River Basin as an example to investigate the effects of human activities on flood regime and to compare and assess the two adjustment methods. The main purpose is to construct a conceptual hydrological model which can incorporate the effects of human activities. The results show that the coaxial correlation diagram is simple and widely-used, but can only adjust the time series of total flood volumes. Therefore, it is only applicable under certain conditions(e.g. There is a strong link between the flood peaks and volumes and the link is not significantly affected by human activities). The conceptual model is a powerful tool to adjust the time series of both flood peak flows and flood volumes over different durations provided that it is closely related to the catchment hydrological characteristics, specifically accounting for the effects of human activities, and incorporating expert knowledge when estimating or calibrating parameters. It is suggested that the two methods should be used together to cross check each other.展开更多

It derives the analytic expressions of the intensity correlation function C(τ) and the associated relaxation time T(C) in the case of a stable locked phase resulting from the cross-correlation λq between the real and imaginary parts of quantum noise. Based on numerical computations it finds that the presence of cross correlations between the real and imaginary parts of quantum noise slow down the decay of intensity fluctuation, i.e., it causes the increase of intensity fluctuation.展开更多

The correlation between an RBF regressor and the training data is used as the criterion to position and shape the RBF node, and it is shown that this is equivalent to incrementally minimise the modelling mean square error. A guided random search optimisation method, called the repeated weighted boosting search, is adopted to append RBF nodes one by one in an incremental regression modelling procedure. The experimental results obtained using the proposed method demonstrate that it provides a viable alternative to the existing state-of-the-art modelling techniques for constructing parsimonious RBF models that generalise well.展开更多

Theresults in the present study showed that the correlation between them could be described using the followinglogarithmic linear correlation model:lgC'(Z) = α(Z) + b(Z)lgC(Z).Therefore, by determining the chrono-sequence C(Z, t), where Z is the atomic number and t the year ofelemental contents in the annual growth rings of trees, we could get the chrono-sequence C'(Z, t) of elementalcontents in the soil, thus inferring the dynamic variations of relevant elemental contents in the soil.
文摘Correlation models for light olefin yields from residue catalytic pyrolysis are studied. Experiments are carried out in a confined fluidized bed reactor for Daqing (China) atmospheric residue catalytic pyrolysis over LCM-5 pyrolyzing catalyst. The influences of reaction temperature, residence time and the weight ratios of catalyst-to-oil and steam-to-oil on light olefin yields are researched. Correlation models for light olefin yields are established, and the model parameters obtained, with the least square method. Results for error analysis and the F-statistical test show that the correlation models have high calculation precision.

文摘By considering collision-limited growth mode and short-range diffusion-limited growth mode simultaneously,an extended kinetic model for solid−liquid interface with varied kinetic prefactor was developed for binary alloys.Four potential correlations arising from effective kinetics coupling the two growth modes were proposed and studied by application to planar interface migration and dendritic solidification, where the linear correlation between the effective thermodynamic driving force and the effective kinetic energy barrier seems physically realistic.A better agreement between the results of free dendritic growth model and the available experiment data for Ni−0.7at.%B alloy was obtained based on correlation between the thermodynamics and kinetics. As compared to previous models assuming constant kinetic prefactor,a common phenomenon occurring at relatively low undercoolings,i.e.the interface migration slowdown, can be ascribed to both the thermodynamic and the kinetic factors.By considering universality of the correlation between the thermodynamics and kinetics,it is concluded that the correlation should be considered to model the interface kinetics in alloy solidification.

文摘A scale-similarity model of a two-point two-time Lagrangian velocity correlation(LVC) was originally developed for the relative dispersion of tracer particles in isotropic turbulent flows(HE, G. Moreover, the dispersion velocity V normalized by the Kolmogorov velocity V_η ≡ η/τ_η in which η and τ_η are the Kolmogorov space and time scales, respectively, scales with the Reynolds number R_λ as V/V_η ∝ R_λ^(1.39) obtained from the numerical data.
文摘On the basis of the reaction rules and its influencing factors of sulfur compounds in MIP naphtha, a correlation model for describing the correlation between mass fraction of sulfur in MIP naphtha, mass fraction of sulfur in feedstock and volume fraction of olefin in naphtha was developed and the model's parameters were estimated. Thus, EURO IV clean gasoline was manufactured by this MIP unit.

文摘As a widely used measurement technique in rock mechanics, spatial correlation modeling of acoustic emission(AE)scattering signals is attracting increasing focus for describing mechanical behavior quantitatively.Unlike the statistical description of the spatial distribution of randomly generated AE signals, spatial correlation modeling is based mainly on short-range correlation considering the interrelationship of adjacent signals. As a new idea from percolation models, the covering strategy is used to build the most representative cube cluster, which corresponds to the critical scale at peak stress. Its modeling process of critical cube cluster depends strongly on the full connection of the main fracture network, and the corresponding cube for coverage is termed the critical cube. The criticality pertains to not only the transition of local-to-whole connection of the fracture network but also the increasing-to-decreasing transition of the deviatoric stress with an obvious stress drop in the brittle failure of granite.Determining a reasonable critical cube guarantees the best observation scale for investigating the failure process.Besides, the topological connection induces the geometric criticality of three descriptors, namely anisotropy, pore fraction, and specific surface area, which are evaluated separately and effectively. The results show that cluster modeling based on the critical cube is effective and has criticality in both topology and geometry,as well as the triaxial behavior.Furthermore, the critical cube length presents a high confidence probability of being correlated to the mineral particle size.Besides, its pore fraction of cube cluster is influenced strongly by the critical cube length and confining pressure.

文摘Air-to-ground wireless channel modeling for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)communications has been widely studied. However, channel modeling for UAV swarm-enabled cooperative communication still needs investigation, where the impact of UAV positions on the spatial channel characteristics is of particular importance. In this paper,we consider a UAV swarm-enabled virtual multiple input multiple output(MIMO)system, where multiple single-antenna UAVs cooperatively transmit to multiple ground users(GUs).We establish a common coordinate system,as well as a UAV swarm-oriented coordinate system,to describe the relative positions of the GUs and the UAV elements, respectively.Based on the established coordinate systems, geometric ray superposition method is applied to describe the spatial channel matrix. The proposed modeling framework can be directly used to describe the line-of-sight and two-ray propagations, and can be extended for including more practical spatial features such as multipath scattering,inter-UAV blockage, and random UAV jittering, etc.Based on the proposed model,we further analyze the spatial correlation among the virtual MIMO links of GUs located at different positions.Via extensive simulations,we show that thanks to the flexible deployment of UAVs,the virtual MIMO array structure can be conveniently configured to get desired channel properties, such as the channel capacity, eigenvalue and condition number distribution, and spatial correlation distribution. This shows the possibility and importance of exploiting a new design dimension,i.e.,the UAV swarm pattern,in such cooperative virtual MIMO systems.

文摘In Wyner-Ziv (WZ) Distributed Video Coding (DVC), correlation noise model is often used to describe the error distribution between WZ frame and the side information. Experimental results suggest that the proposed mixture correlation noise model can describe the heavy tail and sudden change of the noise accurately at high rate and make significant improvement on the coding efficiency compared with the noise model presented by DIStributed COding for Video sERvices (DISCOVER).

文摘Objective Aeolian sediments on the Chinese Loess Plateau contain some of the best continental archives of palaeoclimate change in the Late Cenozoic. The consensus that alternating MS in loess-paleosols in China was due to the strengthening and weakening of the East Asian palaeomonsoon provides an excellent climate record when correlated with global ice volume. Significantly, new basal dates from the red clay underlying the loess-paleosol sequence indicate that wind-blown dust began to accumulate on the Chinese Loess Plateau at least 22 million years ago. 文摘Intense human activities have greatly changed the flood generation conditions in most areas of the world, and have destroyed the consistency in the annual flood peak and volume series. It is suggested that the two methods should be used together to cross check each other.

文摘This paper studies the effects of cross-correlations between the real and imaginary parts of quantum noise on the laser intensity in a saturation laser model. It derives the analytic expressions of the intensity correlation function C(τ) and the associated relaxation time T(C) in the case of a stable locked phase resulting from the cross-correlation λq between the real and imaginary parts of quantum noise. Based on numerical computations it finds that the presence of cross correlations between the real and imaginary parts of quantum noise slow down the decay of intensity fluctuation, i.e., it causes the increase of intensity fluctuation.
文摘A novel technique is proposed for the incremental construction of sparse radial basis function (RBF) networks. The experimental results obtained using the proposed method demonstrate that it provides a viable alternative to the existing state-of-the-art modelling techniques for constructing parsimonious RBF models that generalise well.
