It is observed that compared with the traditional Tikhonov regularization, isotropic and anisotropic TV regularizations perform better in the sense of edge preserving. While anisotropic TV regularization will cause distortions along axes. To minimize the energy function with isotropic and anisotropic regularization terms, we use split Bregman scheme. “Better Call Saul”is an excellent American television series.As a spin-off of“Breaking Bad”,it continues its excellent character design and intriguing plot development,giving audiences around the world a treat to ...“Better Call Saul”is an excellent American television series.As a spin-off of“Breaking Bad”,it continues its excellent character design and intriguing plot development,giving audiences around the world a treat to talk about.However,while“Breaking Bad”has a huge audience and the film and television industry has done a lot of research on it,“Better Call Saul”has not been studied in domestic academic circles.This paper takes several main characters of the play as the research object,analyzes how their characters are designed,and how they complement each other with the dramatic conflict of the plot,so as to explore a new angle of character design.Through the study of the characters in this American drama,this paper can provide a reference for the Chinese film and television industry.The results show that Chinese TV dramas can learn from this American drama to improve the depth of character design and avoid designing stereotyped and labeled characters.This may ultimately improve their artistic literacy and bring more excellent works to Chinese audiences.展开更多
2018 witnessed some unprecedently strict regulations on national media content production and distribution by the Chinese National Radio and Television Administration(NRTA).On its annual recommended lists of excellent...2018 witnessed some unprecedently strict regulations on national media content production and distribution by the Chinese National Radio and Television Administration(NRTA).On its annual recommended lists of excellent national TV series,there is a noticeable increase in historical series in line with core socialist values.Since late 2019,there has been a strict home-quarantine policy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.Accompanied by the newly introduced three-child birth policy in the context of the country’s low fertility rate and significant ageing,a re-emphasis on traditional Confucian ideologies incented by the Chinese authorities emerged:the primary identity of women being an understanding wife and loving mother.Furthermore,thus,a manifestation of such enforced patriarchal ideologies and cultural values is visible in the country’s strictly regulated media content.This study sets off from a corpus of national recommended TV lists to investigate the myth of women’s fates in amid-pandemic Chinese TV series that are appraised and supported by authorities to explore how their identities are constructed and potentially abused under patriarchal media production.展开更多
