It is show...The main characteristics and Petrov type of Taub-NUT spacetime are studied, and the quantum entropy of Taub-NUT black hole due to electromagnetic and gravitational fields is calculated via brick-wall model. It is shown that the quantum entropy has both the linearly and the logarithmically divergent terms. For electromagnetic field, these terms depend on the characteristic of the black hole; while for gravitational field, they depend not only on the characteristic of the black hole but also on the spin of the fields.展开更多

We show that the Reissner-Nordstrom-Taub-NUT-de Sitter solution of Einstein-Maxwell gravity solves the corresponding equations of motion, where the cosmological constant is related to the cross-over scale in the DGP model. Following the approach by Teitelboim in discussing the thermodynamics of de Sitter spacetime and the proposal by Wu et al. for a conserved charge associated with the NUT parameter, we obtain the generalized Smarr mass formula and the first law of thermodynamics of the spacetime.展开更多

We have investigated the acceleration of the unbound high energy particles moving along the rotation axis in the Kerr-Taub-NUT spacetime, and then study the dependence of the repulsive effects on the NUT charge for th...We have investigated the acceleration of the unbound high energy particles moving along the rotation axis in the Kerr-Taub-NUT spacetime, and then study the dependence of the repulsive effects on the NUT charge for the particles in the spacetime. Whether the repulsive effects with the NUT charge become stronger depends on the Carter constant, the position and velocity of the particles themselves. We also present numerically the changes of the observable velocity and acceleration with the NUT charge for the unbound particles in the Kerr-Taub-NUT spacetime.展开更多

Furthermore, the geodesics in the NUT...Some properties related to the NUT-Taub-like spacetime, such as the surface of infinite red-shift, horizon, singularity and the area of the NUT-Taub-like black hole are discussed. Furthermore, the geodesics in the NUT-Taub-like spacetime are obtained in some special cases. Specifically, the circular orbits for a massive particle are derived, which can reduce to the cases of the Schwarzschild spacetime and the NUT-Taub spacetime when m^* = 0 and m^* 〈〈 M, respectively.展开更多
