Research on the Lifting Path of Data Literacy Ability of Applied University Teachers under the Perspective of Organizational Learning

With the arrival of the big data era, the modern higher education model has undergone radical changes, and higher requirements have been put forward for the data literacy of college teachers. The paper first analyzes the connotation of teacher data literacy, and then combs through the status quo and dilemmas of teachers’ data literacy ability in applied universities. The paper proposes to enhance the data literacy ability of teachers from the perspective of organizational learning. Through building a digital culture, building a data-driven teaching environment, and constructing an interdisciplinary learning community to further promote the application of the theory and practice of datafication inside and outside the organization, and ultimately improve the quality of teaching.

Evaluation and Empirical Research on Teachers’ Information Literacy in the Context of Smart Education

The development of smart education has led to the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence with education.It is a prerequisite for teachers to have high information literacy for conducting education and teaching work.This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 412 teachers in a certain area.The results showed that teachers’information literacy is above the middle level,and there are significant differences in information literacy between teaching experience and educational background.The evaluation showed that information ethics,information awareness,and information application have a significant positive impact on professional development,and information knowledge and information awareness have a positive predictive effect on information ethics.

Curriculum Innovation in Language Teacher Education:Reflections on the PGDELT Program’s Contributions to EFL Teachers’Continuing Professional Development

Initial teacher preparation and teachers’ continuing professional development are two significant pillars of the teacher education enterprise. The former encompasses a wide range of teachereducation initiatives at the levels of diploma, bachelor’s degree, postgraduate diploma, and even master’s degree for teacher licensure purposes. These are widely documented in the literature.What is important is how teacher professional development contributes to bolstering the teachereducator force, which is relatively insufficiently documented due to the very fact that different educational systems have somewhat different expectations of such programs in relation to the ideologies and theories underpinning the teacher professional development program design and curriculum offering. Taking stock of a postgraduate diploma program in English language teaching(PGDELT) for teachers’ continuing professional development with a 31-year history housed at a premier teacher education institution in Singapore, which has successfully graduated over 1, 000 English language teachers for colleges and universities in China, I intend to highlight some of its key features, as a former student and then a lecturer on the program, in order to draw implications for sustainable growth of language teacher education programs, especially those whose main purposes are to prepare teachers of English as a second or foreign language(ESL/EFL) and provide continuing professional development opportunities for such inservice teachers.

Teachers＇ teaching innovation abilities in financial management courses

Teachers＇ teaching innovation abilities in financial management courses are very important to train the major of financial management undergraduate students＇ innovation sense, spirits and abilities. This paper firstly explores the structure of teaching innovation abilities, characteristics of creative teachers. Secondly, combined with teaching practice, this paper inquires into how to explore students＇ innovative abilities, how to teach differently according to different students, and how to guide correctly. Finally, from the perspective of department and office environments, continuing education and teachers＇ self-questioning, this paper probes into how to train professional teachers＇ teaching innovation abilities in financial management courses.

Study on Implementing Social Media With Teaching in Course of Technology and Innovation for Teachers for Undergraduates of the Faculty of Education, Naresuan University

The objectives of this research were （1） to study on students＇ achievement after implementing social media with teaching in course of Technology and Innovation for Teachers; （2） to study on students＇ opinions on implementing social media with teaching in the course for undergraduates; and （3） to study on behavior of 38 students in Thai Language major, Faculty of Education, towards implementing social media with teaching in the course for undergraduates who attended the course in academic year 2014. The data was collected by using a learning achievement test before and after implementing social media in the course and a questionnaire for students concerning their opinions regarding implementing social media with the course. The data was analyzed by finding percentage, mean, standard deviation （SD）, t-test dependent, and behavioral observation. The result showed that （I） the post-study achievement of 38 students was significantly higher than pre-study achievement with a statistical significance of .05; （2） the students ＂mostly agreed＂ on implementing social media with the course （μ = 4.40, σ = .37）. After considering in each aspect, it was found that the three aspects that reached highest score respectively were overall image of implementing social media in classes （μ= 4.74, σ = .45）. Followed by those that reached the same score, which were, ＂implementing social media allowed students to exchange experience, knowledge, and attitudes between each other more＂ with （μ = 4.66, σ = .48）, ＂implementing social media allowed students and teachers to exchange experience, knowledge, and attitudes with teachers more＂ with （μ = 4.66, σ = .48）, ＂allowed students to work with each other or do more self-study＂ with （μ = 4.66, σ = .48）, ＂allowed students to study by themselves＂ with （μ = 4.66,σ = .48）, and ＂implementing social media in classes allowed students to submit assignment, and receive suggestions for improvement at all times＂ with （μ = 4.66, σ = .48）. The third was ＂implementing social media in classes allowed more methods for students to communicate with teachers＂ with （μ = 4.53, σ = .51）; and （3） behaviors of implementing social media with the course showed that （a） in terms of promoting knowledge, social media helped promoting knowledge between friends and between students and teachers in various concepts, which was the part that linked to practicing living together in society with others; （b） in terms of communication, students had a change to participate in more socialization by debating or asking questions via Facebook; （c） in terms of strengthening motivation, students were enthusiastic to learn and used the Facebook group for communication; （d） in terms of adjusting an opened-learning environment, this promoted the behavior that students would study and learn anywhere outside of classrooms,which helped learners to always learn not just in their classes; moreover, this would form the behavior of being able to work anywhere anytime, improve, and adjust their works by having records of the changes as well; and （e） in terms of supporting and promoting two-way communication, students were able to communicate and exchange information more than just in class and they were also encouraged to compete by producing portfolios and present them on Facebook and YouTube.

Research on Teaching Innovation Team Construction with“Double-Qualified”Teachers Under the Background of the“Double-High Plan”

With the continuous development of education in China,various vocational colleges have responded to the“Double-High Plan”and are actively building teaching innovation teams with“double-qualified teachers.”By improving the professional level of teachers and increasing practical opportunities,vocational colleges and universities can nurture high-level teachers and improve their teaching level so as to meet the demand for high-level technical skills training in the new era.This paper discusses the significance of constructing a“double-qualified”education model under the background of the“Double-High Plan,”the requirements of the“double-qualified”education model for teachers,the problems in constructing a teaching innovation team with“double-qualified”teachers,and the countermeasures for these problems.

Knowledge, transfer, and innovation in physical literacy curricula

Literate individuals possess knowledge and skill and can apply these to perform tasks in novel settings. Knowledge is at the heart of physical literacy and provides the foundation for knowing what to do and how and when to perform. In this paper I argue that physical literacy includes not only knowledge for performance but also the ability to apply knowledge and use knowledge for innovation. Scholars since the 1930s have addressed the role of knowledge in physical literacy designing curricula centered on transmitting knowledge through a range of interdisciplinary approaches to physical education. This emphasis on physical literacy curricula continues today in the Science, PE, ＆ Me.t and The Science of Healthful Living interdisciplinary curricula.

The influence of CEO’s financial literacy on SMEs technological innovation:the mediating effects of MCS and risk‑taking

Previous literature showed mixed results about the impact of CEOs’financial literacy(CFL)on small and medium-sized enterprises’(SMEs)innovation.This relationship can be motivated by relevant variables,which are missing in the previous literature and make a difference as mediators.In this sense,based on the theoretical framework related to upper echelon theory and resource-based view,this study focuses on the mediating effect of risk-taking attitude and management control systems(MCS)varia-bles.Empirical data from 310 SMEs gathered using a qualitative research questionnaire are analyzed using structural equation modeling methodology.Specifically,estimations are carried out considering the partial least square method.Findings show that MCS and managers’risk attitudes fully mediate the relationship between financial literacy(FL)and innovation.Between these two mediating variables,the implementation of MCS stands out because it also enables the mediating effect of CEOs’risk-taking in the CFL–technological innovation relationship.As the results do not support the significant direct relationship between FL and risk attitude,they confirm an indirect effect through MCS.Furthermore,based on the study findings,SMEs’directors and owners,business associations,and public authorities can improve SMEs’technological innovation by implementing training programs and policies to foster CFL.They can also acknowledge the interdependency between organizational factors and individual characteristics to enhance SMEs’technological innovation.

Paths to Enhance Teacher Digital Literacy Under Educational Digital Transformation in China

In the context of the digital transformation of education in the new era,digital literacy for teachers is a new requirement for professional development.Teacher digital literacy encompasses four main aspects:attitudinal literacy,knowledge and skills literacy,instructional application literacy,and innovation and development literacy.Currently,there are several issues with teacher digital literacy,such as a lack of digital responsibility,insufficient digital knowledge and skills,weak digital application skills,and low digital innovation capability.Enhancing teachers’digital literacy is a complex and critical task.Based on the current state of teachers’digital literacy,this paper proposes the following approaches:(1)adherence to digital norms;(2)development of a robust training mechanism;(3)improvement of the evaluation system;(4)strengthening of digital innovation.

The Relationships Between the Financial Literacy Levels of Individuals and Their Financial Innovation Utilization Habits： The Case of Kayseri Province

Organizations and researchers use different names and definitions for financial literacy. Although the concepts of ＂financial training＂, ＂financial awareness＂, and ＂financial sufficiency＂ are used in the literature, the concept of ＂financial literacy＂ has been recognized in Turkey. Financial literacy can be defined as the ability to comprehend financial concepts and issues so as to take proper decisions against changing financial conditions and to manage one＇s own financial status through financial planning. Financial innovation is defined in the broad sense as the products or processes developed to benefit from the profit opportunities which arise from incomplete financial markets or inefficient financial intermediation. Increasing savings through deposits and personal pensions in recent years and increasing debts through loans and credit cards have revealed a very high level of financial operations and activities in Turkey. The utilization of new financial instruments is also expected to increase with these intense financial activities. Parallel to such increases, individuals with high financial literacy levels are expected to have a higher knowledge level about new financial instruments and innovations and they are also expected to have a greater tendency to use such instruments. In accordance with these expectations, significant relationships were observed in this survey study between the financial literacy level of individuals living in Kayseri province and their utilization habits of many of financial innovations.

Aliteracy Among Teachers?Investigating the Reading Habits of Elementary and Early Childhood Educators

Since the reading habits of both preservice and inservice teachers have been linked to their abilities as reading teachers,aliteracy among teachers is particularly distressing.The purpose of this study was to investigate the amount of leisure time elementary teachers spend reading literature for pleasure.Prekindergarten through sixth grade teachers(N=24)enrolled in a graduate education course logged the minutes they spent engaged in various leisure activities during one week of the summer.Reading literature,defined as the reading of novels,short stories,plays,or poetry in one’s spare time,ranged from 0 to 845 minutes.Of the 13 activities investigated,the highest average amount of time was spent watching movies(M=552.92).Reading literature for pleasure had the eighth highest mean(M=123.13).Pairwise comparisons revealed no significant difference(t=-.795,p<.435)between time spent reading literature and time spent in other non-literature leisure activities.Results or paired samples t-tests indicated that participants spent significantly less time reading newspapers/magazines(t=2.696,p<.013)and reading blogs(t=2.783,p<.011)and significantly more time watching movies(t=-3.287,p<.003)than reading literature for pleasure.It appears that lack of motivation may be a factor in participants’decision to read literature for pleasure as opposed to either lack of time or technological distractions.

Connotation and Interpretation of Professional Literacy of Pre-sci­ence Teachers in Xinjiang

The construction of a perfect evaluation index system of professional literacy of pre-science teachers is the basis of measuring the level of professional literacy of pre-science teachers in Xinjiang.It is of great practical significance to identify the advantages and disadvantages of education of pre-science teachers in Xinjiang.Based on“Professional Standards”and“Certification Standards”,this paper constructs an evaluation index system of Xinjiang pre-science teachers’professional literacy,including 3 first-level indicators and 18 second-level indicators.

A Survey on the Evaluation Literacy of College English Teachers Under the Online Teaching Mode

Under the online teaching model,the evaluation literacy of college English teachers has become one of the critical factors affecting students’learning effects[1].This study uses a self-compiled questionnaire to investigate the current status of evaluation literacy of college English teachers under the online teaching model from four aspects:evaluation awareness,evaluation knowledge,evaluation ability,and evaluation ethics.The results show that college English teachers’overall evaluation literacy level is relatively high,but there are areas for improvement.Based on the survey results,suggestions are put forward to improve teachers’evaluation literacy,such as changing teaching concepts and increasing self-reflection;strengthening training and learning to enhance professional development awareness;conducting cooperative research and emphasizing team strengths.
