This study aims to optimize causative factors using logistic regression(LR) and an artificial neural network(ANN) to produce a LSM. The LSM is produced with 11 causative factors and then optimized using forward-stepwise LR(FSLR), ANN, and their combination(FSLR-ANN) until eight causative factors were found for each method. The ANN method produced superior validation results compared with LR. The ROC values for the training data set ranges between 0.8 and 0.9. The goal of this paper is to evaluate the use of artificial neural networks in the classification of proton transfer events, based on the feed-forward back propagation neural network, used as a classifier to distinguish between the two transfer cases. In this paper, we use a new developed data mining and pattern recognition tool for automating, controlling, and drawing charts of the output data of an Empirical Valence Bond existing code. The proposed ANN is developed considering the fault generation phenomenon during software testing with the fault complexity of different levels. We demonstrate the proposed model considering three types of faults residing in the software. We propose a neighborhood based fuzzy PSO algorithm for competent learning of the proposed ANN using software failure data. Therefore, these kinds of buildings are susceptible to wind-induced vibration. Tuned Mass Damper(TMD) can be used as an effective device to mitigate excessive vibrations. In this study, Artificial Neural Networks is used to find optimal mechanical properties of TMD for high-rise buildings subjected to wind load. The patterns obtained from structural analysis of different multi degree of freedom(MDF) systems are used for training neural networks. In order to obtain these patterns, structural models of some systems with 10 to 80 degrees-of-freedoms are built in MATLAB/SIMULINK program. Finally, the optimal properties of TMD are determined based on the objective of maximum displacement response reduction. The Auto-Regressive model is used to simulate the wind load. In this way, the uncertainties related to wind loading can be taken into account in neural network’s outputs. After training the neural network, it becomes possible to set the frequency and TMD mass ratio as inputs and get the optimal TMD frequency and damping ratio as outputs. As a case study, a benchmark 76-story office building is considered and the presented procedure is used to obtain optimal characteristics of the TMD for the building.展开更多

As a result, in order to develop simulation tools that can be used for the design of nanoscale transistors in the future, new theories and modelling methodologies must be developed that properly and effectively capture the physics of quantum transport. An artificial neural network(ANN) is used in this paper to examine nanoscale CMOS circuits and predict the performance parameters of CMOS-based digital inverters for a temperature range of 300 K to 400 K. The training algorithm included three hidden layers with sizes of 20, 10, and 8, as well as a function fitting ANN with Bayesian Backpropagation Regularization. Further, simulation through HSPICE using Predictive Technology Model(PTM) nominal parameters has been done to compare with ANN(trained using an analytical model) results. The obtained results lie within the acceptable range of 1%-10%. Moreover, it has also been demonstrated that the ANN simulation provides a speed improvement of around 85 % over the HSPICE simulation, and that it can be easily integrated into software tools for designing and simulating complicated CMOS logic circuits.展开更多

Control chart patterns are categorized as natural and unnatural. The presence of unnatural patterns means that a process is out of statistical control and there are assignable causes for process variation that should be investigated. This paper proposes an artificial neural network algorithm to identify the three basic control chart patterns;natural, shift, and trend. This identification is in addition to the traditional statistical detection of runs in data, since runs are one of the out of control situations. It is assumed that a process starts as a natural pattern and then may undergo only one out of control pattern at a time. The performance of the proposed algorithm was evaluated by measuring the probability of success in identifying the three basic patterns accurately, and comparing these results with previous research work. The comparison showed that the proposed algorithm realized better identification than others.展开更多

Moreover, it has also been demonstrated that the ANN simulation provides a speed improvement of around 85 % over the HSPICE simulation, and that it can be easily integrated into software tools for designing and simulating complicated CMOS logic circuits.

文摘A strategy of developing on-line optimization intelligent systems based on combiningflowsheeting simulation and optimization package with artificial neural networks(ANN)is presented inthis paper.A number of optimization cases for a certain chemical plant are obtained off-line byusing PROCESS-Ⅱ or other flowsheeting programming with optimization. Then, taking these cases astraining examples,we establish a neural network systems which can be used on-line as an optimizer toobtain setpoints from input data sampled from distributed control system through gross error detectionand data reconciliation procedures.Such an on-line optimizer possesses two advantages over nonlinearprogramming package:first of all, there is no convergence problem for the trained ANN to be usedonline;secondly, the frequency for setpoints updating is not limited because only algebraic calculationrather than optimization is required to be carried out on-line.Here two key problems ofimplementing ANN approaches to the on-line optimization
文摘The identification of control chart patterns is very important in statistical process control. The comparison showed that the proposed algorithm realized better identification than others.
文摘Spam has turned into a big predicament these days, due to the increase in the number of spam emails,as the recipient regularly receives piles of emails. Not only is spam wasting users’time and bandwidth. In addition,it limits the storage space of the email box as well as the disk space. Thus, spam detection is a challenge for individuals and organizations alike. To advance spam email detection, this work proposes a new spam detection approach, using the grasshopper optimization algorithm(GOA)in training a multilayer perceptron(MLP)classifier for categorizing emails as ham and spam.Hence,MLP and GOA produce an artificial neural network(ANN)model, referred to(GOAMLP).Two corpora are applied Spam Base and UK-2011Web spam for this approach. Finally, the finding represents evidence that the proposed spam detection approach has achieved a better level in spam detection than the status of the art.

文摘An improved wavelet neural network algorithm which combines with particle swarm optimization was proposed to avoid encountering the curse of dimensionality and overcome the shortage in the responding speed and learning ability brought about by the traditional models. Based on the operational data provided by a regional power grid in the south of China, the method was used in the actual short term load forecasting. The results show that the average time cost of the proposed method in the experiment process is reduced by 12.2 s, and the precision of the proposed method is increased by 3.43% compared to the traditional wavelet network. Consequently, the improved wavelet neural network forecasting model is better than the traditional wavelet neural network forecasting model in both forecasting effect and network function.
文摘Continued increases in the emission of greenhouse gases by passenger ve<span style="font-family:Verdana;">hicles ha</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">ve</span><span style="font-family:;" "=""><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> accelerated the production of hybrid electric vehicles. With this increase in production, there has been a parallel demand for continuously improving strategies of hybrid electric vehicle control. The goal of an ideal control strategy is to maximize fuel economy while minimizing emissions. Methods exist by which the globally optimal control strategy may be found. However, these methods are not applicable in real-world driving applications since these methods require </span><i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">a</span></i> <i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">priori</span></i><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> knowledge of the upcoming drive cycle. Real-time control strategies use the global optimal as a benchmark against which performance can be evaluated. The goal of this work is to use a previously defined strategy that has been shown to closely approximate the global optimal and implement a radial basis function (RBF) artificial neural network (ANN) that dynamically adapts the strategy based on past driving conditions. The strate</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">gy used is the Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy (ECMS),</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> which uses an equivalence factor to define the control strategy and the power train </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">component torque split. An equivalence factor that is optimal for a single</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> drive cycle can be found offline</span></span><span style="font-family:;" "=""> </span><span style="font-family:;" "=""><span style="font-family:Verdana;">with </span><i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">a</span></i> <i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">priori</span></i><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> knowledge of the drive cycle. The RBF-ANN is used to dynamically update the equivalence factor by examining a past time window of driving characteristics. A total of 30 sets of training data (drive cycles) are used to train the RBF-ANN. For the majority of drive cycles examined, the RBF-ANN implementation is shown to produce fuel economy values that are within ±2.5% of the fuel economy obtained with the optimal equivalence factor. The advantage of the RBF-ANN is that it does not require </span><i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">a</span></i> <i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">priori</span></i><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> drive cycle knowledge and is able to be implemented in real-time while meeting or exceeding the performance of the optimal ECMS. Recommendations are made on how the RBF-ANN could be improved to produce better results across a greater array of driving conditions.</span></span>
