In recent years environmental and sustainability concerns have impacted the global chemical industry and instituted a rush to produce products from renewable raw materials.This dynamic,complex and turbulent organizational scenario,around themes touching on the issue of sustainable development model,was created involving a large number of different actors:chemical/petrochemical industries,agroindustry companies,oil/gas companies,brand owners and end users,biotechnology startups,governments,universities and society.This paper proposed the application of a structured and dynamic method of technological prediction for biopolymers in three levels:systematic monitoring process,relational database and the“alive”Technology Roadmapping visualization tool.The main objective is to identify strategic actions,business models,the latest´s technologies in development,as well as trends in the field of biopolymers in order to support companies on position themselves in this competitive scenario.Furthermore,companies,universities,government agencies and institutions could apply this dynamic and alive methodology to indeed access innovation opportunities,challenges and threats for different industrial segments and to provide dynamic knowledge management collaborating to their strategy including a database crossing for the all organization. 展开更多

Purpose–The rapid development of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles(ICVs)has boomed a new round of global technological and industrial revolution in recent decades.The Technology Roadmap of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles(2020)comprehensively analyzes the technical architecture,research status and future trends of ICVs.The methodology that supports the roadmap should get studied.Design/methodology/approach–This paper interprets the roadmap from the aspects of strategic significance,technical content and characteristics of the roadmap,and evaluates the impact of the roadmap on researchers,industries and international strategies.Findings–The technical architecture of ICVs as the“three rows and two columns”structure is studied,the methodology that supported the roadmap is explained with a case study and the influence of key technologies with proposed development routes is analyzed.Originality/value–This paper could help researchers understand both thoughts and methodologies behind the technology roadmap of ICVs. 展开更多

The role of heat pump in heating decarbonization for China carbon neutrality

Heating decarbonization is a major challenge for China to meet its 2060 carbon neutral commitment,yet most existing studies on China’s carbon neutrality focus on supply side(e.g.,grid decarbonization,zero-carbon fuel)rather than demand side(e.g.,heating and cooling in buildings and industry).In terms of end use energy consumption,heating and cooling accounts for 50% of the total energy consumption,and heat pumps would be an effective driver for heating decarbonization along with the decarbonization on power generation side.Previous study has discussed the underestimated role of the heat pump in achieving China’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2060.In this paper,various investigation and assessments on heat pumps from research to applications are presented.The maximum decarbonization potential from heat pump in a carbon neutral China future could reach around 1532Mton and 670Mton for buildings and industrial heating respectively,which show nearly 2 billion tons CO_(2) emission reduction,20% current CO_(2) emission in China.Moreover,a region-specific technology roadmap for heat pump development in China is suggested.With collaborated efforts from government incentive,technology R&D,and market regulation,heat pump could play a significant role in China’s 2060 carbon neutrality. 展开更多
