Firstly, quantities of all kinds of error sources that influence velocity deter-mination are analyzed. The potential accuracy of GPS absolute velocity determination is derived from both theory and field GPS data simulation. After that, two tests were carried out to evaluate the performance of GPS absolute velocity determination in the case of a static and an airborne GPS receiver and INS (Inertial Navigation System) instrument in kinematic mode. In static mode, the receiver velocity has been estimated to be several mm/s with the carrier-phase derived Doppler measurements, and several cm/s with the receiver generated Doppler measurements. In kinematic mode, GPS absolute velocity estimates are compared with the synchronized measurements from the high accuracy INS. The root mean square statistics of the velocity discrepancies between GPS and INS come up to dm/s. Moreover, it has a strong correlation with the accel-eration or jerk of the aircraft.展开更多

In the first analyzing step, the cutting force and the cutting heat for the cutting conditions were obtained using the AdvantEdge. Also, the deformation of a workpiece was estimated in the second step using the ANSYS. The deformation was analyzed for a 150 mm-long workpiece at three different measuring points, such as 10, 70 and 130 mm from a reference point, and the amounts of the deformation were compared through experiments. /n the results of the comparison and analysis, the values obtained from these comparison and analysis represent similar tendencies. Also, it is verified that their geometric errors increase with the increase in temperature. In addition, regarding the factors that affect the deformation of a workpiecc, it can be seen that the geometric error in the lathe is about 15%, the error caused by the cutting force is about 10%, and the deformation caused by the heat is about 75%.展开更多

DS18B20 temperature sensor is applied to ...Dynamic capacity increase in high voltage electric power transmission line is currently the most economical method for solving electric power transmission bottleneck nowadays. DS18B20 temperature sensor is applied to the dynamic capacity increase of high voltage transmission lines to measure the conductor temperature and ambient temperature. The paper is focused on the experiment of DS18B20 both in the laboratory and outside. From the result of the lab temperature measurement data analysis, using 4 DS18B20’s is the most suitable plan, considering both accuracy and economical efficiency. In the experiment outside, we get four groups of conductor (uncharged) temperature and four groups of ambient temperature. The data proved that DS18B20 has good stability, and small measurement error. It is suitable for measuring the temperature of conductor and ambient in dynamic capacity increase, and helpful to improve the accuracy of the calculation of capacity increasing.展开更多
Accurate and reliable information about the temperature of the synchronous generators excitation winding hot spot is necessary to determine the dynamic limit caused by excitation winding overheating in the PQ diagram....Accurate and reliable information about the temperature of the synchronous generators excitation winding hot spot is necessary to determine the dynamic limit caused by excitation winding overheating in the PQ diagram. For good estimation of a position and the hot spot temperature it is decided to mount 19 temperature probes on one pole of the 6-pole, 400 kVA. 50 llz synchronous generator. Due to a large number of the probes and because the probes should be glued with the metal epoxy it was assumed that mounting of the probes will disrupt the temperature field of the excitation winding. To get the answer to this question the excitation winding resistance was measured betbre and after mounting the probes, in a hot and a cold state. Temperature rise can be estimated if the resistance ratio in the hot and the cold state is known. The paper also addresses the analysis of the measurement accuracy. The result shows that, there is no significant influence on the temperature when mounting the 19 temperature probes which covered 10% of the pole excitation winding surface.展开更多
