Several studies have demonstrated the effect of planting methods on rice yield, but information on the climate resources is limited. This study aims to reveal the effects of planting methods on climate resources associated with rice yield in a rice-wheat rotation system in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, China. Field experiments were conducted in 2014 and 2015 with two japonica, two indica hybrid, and two japonica-indica hybrid varieties grown under three mechanized planting methods: carpet seedling of mechanical transplanting(CT), mechanical direct seeding(DS), and pot-hole seedling of mechanical transplanting(PT). The rice yield and total dry matter under PT were greater than those under CT and DS methods. Besides, the entire growth duration and daily production showed significant positive relations with rice yield. Compared with CT and DS, the effective accumulated temperature and cumulative solar radiation of rice under PT were higher in phenological phases. In addition, the dry matter/effective accumulated temperature and solar energy utilization of rice under CT and DS were higher during vegetative phase and lower during reproductive and grain filling phases in contrast to PT. The mean daily temperature and mean daily solar radiation in the entire growth duration showed significant positive correlation with rice yield, total dry matter, and harvest index. This study demonstrated that when the mean daily temperature is 〈25.1°C in vegetative phase and 〉20.1°C in grain filling phase, rice yield could be increased by selecting mechanized planting methods. Most varieties under PT method exhibited high yield and climate resources use efficiency compared with CT and DS. In conclusion, the PT method could be a better cultivation measure for high rice yield, accompanied with high temperature and solar radiation use efficiency in a rice-wheat rotation system in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, China. 展开更多

This paper reprots that with Ni-based catalyst/solvent and with a dopant of NAN3, large green single crystal diamonds with perfect shape are successfully synthesized by temperature gradient method under high pressure and high temperature in a China-type cubic anvil high-pressure apparatus (SPD-6 × 1200), and the highest nitrogen concentration reaches approximately 121-1257 ppm calculated by infrared absorption spectra. The synthesis conditions are about 5.5 CPa and 1240-1300 ℃. The growth behaviour of diamond with high-nitrogen concentration is investigated in detail. The results show that, with increasing the content of NaN3 added in synthesis system, the width of synthesis temperature region for growth high-quality diamonds becomes narrower, and the morphology of diamond crystal is changed from cube-octahedral to octahedral at same temperature and pressure, the crystal growth rate is slowed down, nevertheless, the nitrogen concentration doped in synthetic diamond increases. 展开更多

And NaIO4 could oxidize R to cause the RTP quenching. Arsenic(V) could catalyze the reaction of NaIO4 oxidizing R, which caused the RTP sharply quenching. The reducing value of phosphorescence intensity (ΔIp) for the system with DBS is 3.3 times higher than that without DBS. Moreover, the ΔIp is proportional to the concentration of As(V). Based on the facts above, a new RTP quenching method for the determination of trace As(V) has been established. 展开更多

Interval variables are used to quantitatively describe the uncertain parameters with limited information. Based on different Taylor and Neumann series, two kinds of parameter perturbation methods are presented to approximately yield the ranges of the uncertain temperature field. By comparing the results with traditional Monte Carlo simulation, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method for solving steady-state heat conduction problem with uncertain-but-bounded parameters. 展开更多

Single-phase insulating 12CaO?7Al_2O_3(C12A7) powder was synthesized using an optimized hydrothermal method. Pure phase of C12A7 was got at a comparatively lower temperature(c.a. 300 ℃) than that has been previously reported. The crystallite size of the synthesized C12A7 powder was 7±2 nm. The surface area values calculated for all the samples at a synthesis temperature range of 250-800 ℃ for 5 h were in the range of about 19-24 m^2/g, with pore sizes of 12-20 nm. This low-temperature-based synthetic strategy along with nano porous structures and a high surface area value can facilitate catalyst application. 展开更多

To study the variation of temperature and velocity of liquid (or semisolid) aluminum during dynamic solidification the numerical simulation was carried out with the theory of heat-transfer and hydrodynamics by means of 3-dimensional finite element method. From simulation results, it is found that the variation of temperature and velocityis mainly influenced by the casting temperature of aluminum, rotating speed of Castex wheel and flow of cooling water. Among theseinfluencing factors, the casting temperature distributes most to the length of liquid phase metal. Moreover, the faster the metal solidifies,the higher the metal there moves with the overall trend of descending from the bottom of the wheel to the shoe wall as well as from sidewalls to the center of wheel groove. Based on the assumptions validated by the experiments,an analytical method to detect the coupling actions of bending fatigue and temperature on concrete was proposed.To this purpose,a coefficient denoted by f D (T)with the strain distributions caused by these two actions was defined.In terms of the known parameters and the fitted functions of strain,the explicit expression for f D (T)which develops in the way same as the law of temperature change in the body of specimens was obtained.Our experimental results indicate that the weigh fraction of temperature stress decreases in the coupling damage field with the fading temperature gradient,and consequently disclose the mutual influence between these two types of actions in the loading history. 展开更多

This paper presents the basis of acoustic method used for temperature field measurement of seafloor hydrothermal vent and two techniques of the parabolic interpolation and the bending compensation of propagation paths of acoustic signal are introduced. Experimental research is performed to exactly rebuild the temperature field around hot springs on the floor of Qiezishan Lake, Yunnan, China. The accuracy of the travel time estimation has been improved based on the aforementioned technique and method. At the same time, by comparison of the results of temperature field with different means, the max absolute error, the maximum relative error and the root mean square error are given. It shows that the technique and the method presented in the paper can be applied to the temperature field measurement detector around the seafloor hydrothermal vent. It also has a good accuracy. 展开更多

To find the optimal location for large-aperture telescopes is a goal of astronomy. Chinese Antarctic astronomy has begun to flourish in recent years, and it is an urgent need in basic astronomical work to measure and analyze the optical turbulence spatiotemporal distribution in the Antarctic region. We analyzed turbulence data measured by a mobile atmospheric parameter measurement system from 30 December 2013 to 10 February 2014 at Antarctic Taishan Station. Because there is a discrepancy between the refractive index structure constant Cn2 measured by an ultrasonic anemometer with a single-point temperature structure function method and by micro-thermometer, a new method to measure C,2 with a temperature spectrum method is proposed herein. Through comparing long-term continuous Cn2 data derived from ultrasonic anemometer with those via the new method and micro-thermometer, trend, magnitude and measured weak turbulence of-2× 10-16m-2/3 are generally satisfactory. The reason for the discrepancy in Cn2 measurement between the ultrasonic anemometer with the old method and micro-thermometer is investigated. 展开更多

Large diamond crystals were successfully synthesized by a FeNi C system using the temperature gradient method under high-pressure high-temperature conditions. The assembly of the growth cell was improved and the growth process of diamond was investigated. Effects of the symmetry of the carbon convection field around the growing diamond crystal were investigated systematically by adjusting the position of the seed crystal in the melted catalyst/solvent. The results indicate that the morphologies and metal inclusion distributions of the synthetic diamond crystals vary obviously in both symmetric and non-symmetric carbon convection fields with temperature. Moreover, the finite element method was applied to analyze the carbon convection mode of the melted catalyst/solvent around the diamond crystal. This work is helpful for understanding the growth mechanism of diamond. 展开更多

Two methods, rapidly depressurizing to 0.1 MPa at a constant temperature and rising temperature under equilibrium P, T conditions, were used to study the dissociation of pure CH4 hydrate formed below the ice point. At a constant temperature with rapidly depressurizing to 0.1 MPa, CH4 hydrate dissociated rapidly at initial dissociation and then the dissociation rate gradually decreased. However, the dissociation of CH4 hydrate at temperatures of 261 to 266 K was much faster than that at temperatures of 269 to 272 K, indicating its anomalous preservation. Under an equilibrium P, T conditions, rising temperature had extensively controlling impact on dissociation of CH4 hydrate at equilibrium pressures of 2.31, 2.16 and 1.96 MPa. In this study, we report the effect of pressure on CH4 hydrate dissociation, especially the effect of equilibrium pressure on dissociation at various melting temperatures. And we find that the ice particles size of CH4 hydrate formed may dominant the CH4 hydrate dissociation. Dissociation of CH4 hydrate formed from ice particles of smaller than 250 μm may not have an anomalous preservation below the ice point, while particles larger than 250 μm may have more extensive anomalous preservation. 展开更多

Colormetric method of images by using two different wavelength images is a new measuring method for welding temperature field on the basis of ordinary colorimetric method, which depends little on the measuring distance, emissivity of body etc. In this paper the real time measuring system and measuring principle of welding temperature field are described, the whole welding temperature field is real time measured, so the temperature distribution at the welding direction and its cross section is obtained, then parameters of thermal cycle. With data from the temperature closed loop control system of the parameters of temperature field is developed and tested. Experimental results prove that it has high measurement speed (time of a field within 0.5 s ) and good dynamic response quality. Weld penetration can be controlled satisfactorily under the variation of welding condition such as welding thickness, welding speed and weldment gap etc. 展开更多

High-quality p-type boron-doped IIb diamond large single crystals are successfully synthesized by the temperature gradient method in a china-type cubic anvil high-pressure apparatus at about 5.5 GPa and 1600 K. The morphologies and surface textures of the synthetic diamond crystals with different boron additive quantities are characterized by using an optical microscope and a scanning electron microscope respectively. The impurities of nitrogen and boron in diamonds are detected by micro Fourier transform infrared technique. The electrical properties including resistivities, Hall coefficients, Hall mobilities and carrier densities of the synthesized samples are measured by a four-point probe and the Hall effect method. The results show that large p-type boron-doped diamond single crystals with few nitrogen impurities have been synthesized. With the increase of quantity of additive boron, some high-index crystal faces such as {113} gradually disappear, and some stripes and triangle pits occur on the crystal surface. This work is helpful for the further research and application of boron-doped semiconductor diamond. 展开更多

High-quality type IIa large diamond crystals are synthesized with Ti/Cu as nitrogen getter doped in an FeNi–C system at temperature ranging from 1230℃to 1380℃and at pressure 5.3–5.9 GPa by temperature gradient method.Different ratios of Ti/Cu are added to the Fe Ni–C system to investigate the best ratio for high-quality type IIa diamond.Then,the different content of nitrogen getter Ti/Cu(Ti:Cu=4:3)is added to this synthesis system to explore the effect on diamond growth.The macro and micro morphologies of synthesized diamonds with Ti/Cu added,whose nitrogen concentration is determined by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR),are analyzed by optical microscopy(OM)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),respectively.It is found that the inclusions in the obtained crystals are minimal when the Ti/Cu ratio is 4:3.Furthermore,the temperature interval for diamond growth becomes narrower when using Ti as the nitrogen getter.Moreover,the lower edge of the synthesis temperature of type IIa diamond is 25℃higher than that of type Ib diamond.With the increase of the content of Ti/Cu(Ti:Cu=4:3),the color of the synthesized crystals changes from yellow and light yellow to colorless.When the Ti/Cu content is 1.7 wt%,the nitrogen concentration of the crystal is less than 1 ppm.The SEM results show that the synthesized crystals are mainly composed by(111)and(100)surfaces,including(311)surface,when the nitrogen getter is added into the synthesis system.At the same time,there are triangular pits and dendritic growth stripes on the crystal surface.This work will contribute to the further research and development of high-quality type IIa diamond. 展开更多

The plastic load-bearing capacity of ductile composites such as metal matrix composites is studied with an insight into the microstructures. The macroscopic strength of a composite is obtained by combining the homogenization theory with static limit analysis, where the temperature parameter method is used to construct the self-equilibrium stress field. An interface failure model is proposed to account for the effects of the interface on the failure of composites. The static limit analysis with the finite-element method is then formulated as a constrained nonlinear programming problem, which is solved by the Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) method. Finally, the macroscopic transverse strength of perforated materials, the macroscopic transverse and off-axis strength of fiber-reinforced composites are obtained through numerical calculation. Additive Ba(N3)2 as a source of nitrogen is heavily doped into the graphite-Fe-based alloy system to grow nitrogendoped diamond crystals under a relatively high pressure (about 6.0 GPa) by employing the temperature gradient method. Gem-grade diamond crystal with a size of around 5 mm and a nitrogen concentration of about 1173 ppm is successfully synthesised for the first time under high pressure and high temperature in a China-type cubic anvil highpressure apparatus. The growth habit of diamond crystal under the environment with high degree of nitrogen doping is investigated. It is found that the morphologies of heavily nitrogen-doped diamond crystals are all of octahedral shape dominated by {111} facets. The effects of temperature and duration on nitrogen concentration and form are explored by infrared absorption spectra. The results indicate that nitrogen impurity is present in diamond predominantly in the dispersed form accompanied by aggregated form, and the aggregated nitrogen concentration in diamond increases with temperature and duration. In addition, it is indicated that nitrogen donors are more easily incorporated into growing crystals at higher temperature. Strains in nitrogen-doped diamond crystal are characterized by micro-Raman spectroscopy. Measurement results demonstrate that the undoped diamond crystals exhibit the compressive stress, whereas diamond crystals heavily doped with the addition of Ba(N3)2 display the tensile stress. 展开更多

SAPO-34 is one of the main catalysts used in the petrochemical industry. Various effective methods have been developed to synthesize SAPO-34 with optimal size and characteristics for such application, In the present study, SAPO-34 was synthesized using a dry gel method at high temperatures. Morpholine was used as an organic template. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction, field-emission scan- ning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and gas sorption analysis, The results showed that application of the dry gel method at high temperatures successfully afforded a pure catalyst with high crystallinity, Small particles of less than 500 nm could be obtained within a short reaction time of 30 min. 展开更多

Effect of Seed Sizes on Growth of Large Synthetic Diamond Crystals

For the growth of large synthetic diamond crystals by temperature gradient method (TGM), the grit sizes of seed crystals have great effects on the growth rate and quality of large grown crystals. Because of the limited area of seed surfaces, the maximum diffusion flux of carbon source, which could be absorbed by the seed, is related to the seed size. And with increasing the seed sizes, the growth rates also increase markedly. However, the seed sizes should be lower than a certain value, which determines the crystal quality directly. For example, with NiMnCo alloy as the metal solvent, when the seed size increases from 0.5 to 1.8 mm, the growth rate increases greatly from about 1.1 to 3.2 mg/h; when the size is beyond 2.0 mm, more and more metal inclusions would be incorporated into the grown crystals, and the crystal quality is destroyed heavily. Finite element analysis (FEA) shows that, due to the special assembly of growth cell, the diffusion of carbon source in the metal solvent is very inhomogeneous, which could be substantiated directly by the appearances and shapes of large grown crystals and the remains of carbon source. And this inhomogeneous diffusion of carbon source would be very harmful to the growth of large diamond crystals, especially when large-size seed crystals are used. 展开更多

By temperature gradient method under high pressure and high temperature (HPHT), with NiMnCo alloy as the solvent metal, at diamond-stable region of about 5.4 GPa and 1500 K, metastable regrown graphite crystals of different morphology were synthesized. With B as an additive incorporated into the NiMnCo-C system, metastable regrown graphite crystals of sphere-like shape were firstly obtained under HPHT. If the growth system does not contain B, sheet-like regrown graphite crystals, most with regular hexagonal morphology, are grown upwards and standing vertically in the metal solvent. When B additive of 1.0 wt pct was added into carbon source (graphite powder), all metastable regrown graphite crystals took on the habit of regular sphere-like morphology, and were grown by a spiral layer growth mechanism. 展开更多
