A“Projectized”Approach to EST Translation Textbook Compilation

Setting out from the shortfalls of present EST translation textbooks,i.e.,similar structure and lacking diversity,we survey teachers and students of EST translation,and find problems regarding example choosing and lack of emphasis on CAT technology.Based on translation theory and translation talent training theory,a new“projectized”approach to compiling EST translation textbooks is put forward,which advocates that translation textbooks construct an environment with an initiator,consignor,original writer,translator,user,and receiver.The approach is expected to promote the practical value of EST translation textbooks and empower them with the ability required by the translation industry.

The Current Situation and Counter Measures of Compilation of English Literature Textbooks in the Context of New Liberal Arts

With the promulgation of the“National Quality Standards for Undergraduate Teaching of Foreign Languages and Literatures in General Institutions of Higher Education”and“Teaching Guidelines”in 2018,the humanistic attributes of English majors and the important position of literature in foreign language learning are emphasized.Nowadays,the English literature curriculum is facing the problems of marginalization,reduction of class hours,simplification of curriculum and so on.Then in the context of the new liberal arts,it provides a new way to break through the dilemma of the literature curriculum.The study has collected the use of teaching materials of British and American literature courses in some colleges and universities across the country.Based on the survey results,the compilation of teaching materials in the new era should consider how to adapt to students’deep learning,autonomous learning,cross learning and research-based learning to provide guidance and support.The diversity of learning requires us to break the monotony of textbook compilation,show diversity and complement each other.

A Review on the Compilation of College English Textbooks in China Based on Big Data

With the help of Big Data and Citespace software, this research makes a statistical analysis of the journals anddissertations on College English teaching and learning materials collected by CNKI from 2011 to 2020. This paper,based on the knowledge map drawn by the visualized analysis of literatures volume, authors, research institutions,and keywords clustering, analyzes the current research status and hotspots in the compilation of China’s CollegeEnglish textbooks.

On the Principles for Compiling Maritime English Textbooks

With the development of maritime English teaching, there is a greater demand of high quality maritime English textbooks. This is a reflection of the diversification of new generation maritime English textbooks. But it also brings forth the principles for the textbook compilation. Maritime English textbook construction should adhere to the principle of the cultivation in students＇ listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation and incorporate the linguistic theories, teaching concepts and the understanding of classroom teaching and students＇ learning, so that the students will continue to improve their English levels in the process of learning the special knowledge. Therefore, the problem we faced with is to make the scientific and rational principles and compile textbooks that suit the practice of maritime English teaching and learning.

An investigation on compiling opinions on and suggestions for a biochemistry textbook from nursing undergraduates

Objective： To compile nursing undergraduates＇ opinions and suggestions for biochemistry textbook to improve the readability and applicability of a textbook of biochemistry. Methods： This investigation involved 279 nursing undergraduates through delivery of a self-made questionnaire, which was to be used to analyze and study the students＇ suggestions and opinions on the content of the biochemistry textbook. Results： The investigation revealed that the textbook＇s difficulty was associated negatively with stu- dents＇ interest （P 〈 0.05）, and the textbook＇s importance was associated positively with students＇ interest （P 〈 0.05）. Students suggested that the textbook should be closely related to nursing. The contents, difficulty, structure and charts of the textbook should be adjusted properly. Conclusions： The content of the nursing version of the biochemistry textbook should be driven by the needs of the nursing major and should focus on simplifying the textbook＇s content, and making it practical. This will make the textbook vivid and readable, enhancing the interest of students to accept and benefit from the textbook.

Compiling Life-Oriented Moral Education Textbooks for Elementary Schools in China:The Mimetic Approach in Morality and Law

Purpose:This study explores a novel approach to compiling life-oriented moral textbooks for elementary schools in China,specificallyfocusing onMorality and Law.Design/Approach/Methods:Adopting Aristotle's Poetics as its theoretical perspective,this study illustrates and analyzes the mimetic approach used in compiling the life-oriented moral education textbook,Morality and Law.Findings:The mimetic approach involves imitating children's real activities,thoughts,and feelings in textbooks.The mimetic approach to compiling life-oriented moral textbooks comprises three strategies:constructing children's life events as building blocks for textbook compilation,designing an intricate textual device exposing the wholeness of children's life actions,and designing inward learning activities leading to children's innerworlds.Originality/Value:From the perspective of Aristotle's Poetics,the approach to compilation in Morality and Law can be defined as mimetic.And the compilation activity in the life-oriented moral education textbook also can be described as a process ofmimesis.So this article presents a new approach to compile moral education textbooks and an innovative way to understand the nature of one compiling activity.
