Aim:This study aimed to explore the correlation of long-term medication behaviour self-efficacy with social support and medication knowledge of kidney transplant recipients.Methods:A convenient sample of kidney transplant recipients in a general hospital in Guangzhou was recruited from November 2016 to January 2017.Self-reported survey data were provided by the kidney transplant recipients using long-term medication behaviour self-efficacy scale(LTMBSES),perceived social support scale(PSSS)and scale for patient-perceived medication knowledge in medication usage.Descriptive statistics and Spearman's correlation analysis were used for data analysis.Results:A total of 195 kidney transplant recipients(132 men and 63 women)were recruited for this study.The mean scores of all LTMBSES dimensions,namely personal attitudes,environmental and taskrelated and behavioural factors,were 32.49±4.34,60.90±7.56 and 32.32±4.40,respectively.The mean scores of three PSSS dimensions,namely,family,friends and significant others,were 24.91±3.42,22.71±4.66 and 22.15±4.26,correspondingly.The mean scores of two five-item knowledge subscale dimensions,namely,general and interaction knowledge,were 9.56±1.07 and 13.02±2.67,respectively.Spearman's correlation analysis showed that social support(rs=0.232,P<0.01)and medication knowledge(rs=0.352,P<0.01)were positively associated with long-term medication self-efficacy in the kidney transplant recipients.Conclusion:The levels of long-term medication self-efficacy,perceived social support and medication knowledge of the kidney transplant recipients were high.Social support and medication knowledge were correlated with self-efficacy. 展开更多

With increasing academic exchanges and more frequent contact with foreign researchers,more and more postgraduate students are invited to attend international academic meetings,study aboard and participate in academic lectures.However,academic English speaking course set up by many universities fail to improve postgraduate students’academic communication abilities and meet their needs.The research purpose of this paper is to do a need analysis of current academic English speaking courses for non-English major postgraduates.The research methodology includes literature and questionnaire.The questionnaire is designed based on Dudley-Evans and St John's Model.It aims to investigate current situation of academic speaking course and carry out a need analysis of postgraduate students.The results show that non-English major postgraduates have strong needs of academic English speaking.While,English speaking course could not meet the requirement of most postgraduate students.After completing all these courses,their oral academic competences are still beyond the expectations of their supervisors or international academic standard for normal presentation and communication in conference,seminar,lectures etc. 展开更多

This paper explores college students' attitudes toward Chinglish through a questionnaire. A primary finding is that most college students accept Chinglish as legitimate communication, considering it to be 1) a tool to energize or vivify the social atmosphere, and 2) a source of catchwords and phrases specifically employed in communication with friends. Despite their acceptance and use of Chinglish, the questionnaire reveals, also,that college students lack linguistic understanding of Chinglish and are unaware of how it may interfere with acquisition of correct English. The analysis of the questionnaire also has some implications in college English teaching. 展开更多

高校英语专业文学类“课程思政”学习效果认同度调查

英语专业文学类“课程思政”建设有利于培养具有家国情怀与人文精神的高端英语人才。为了评价英语专业文学类“课程思政”建设效果,提高英语专业文学类“课程思政”建设质量,对某省一所地方高校20级英语专业150名学生进行了问卷调查研... 英语专业文学类“课程思政”建设有利于培养具有家国情怀与人文精神的高端英语人才。为了评价英语专业文学类“课程思政”建设效果,提高英语专业文学类“课程思政”建设质量,对某省一所地方高校20级英语专业150名学生进行了问卷调查研究。结果表明:对“课程思政”教学内容总体认同度较高,其中的“家庭美德”和“马哲辩证”教育还需强化;对“课程思政”教学方法普遍认同,但独立挖掘思政元素的能力有待提升;对“课程思政”教学效果认同度较高;对“课程思政”评价方式基本认同。建议:一是坚守中华文化立场,讲好中国故事;二是加强文学课教师“课程思政”的主动意识和自觉意识。 展开更多

This paper reports on an investigation conducted in thePearl River Delta Region of Guangdong Province.Theinvestigation was intended to collect data about middle schoolstudents’motivation for English learning,their views on thedifficulty of learning the language,their learning methods andexpectations for teacher roles.In light of the investigationfindings,four points are summed up.First,there is a seriousloss of junior middle school students’interest in Englishlearning.In other words,the higher the grade,the fewer thestudents interested in learning the language.Second,Englishgrammar is a universal problem for most students.However,they tend to have different difficulties at different learningstages.Third,most junior middle school students are well awareof their own responsibilities for successful learning,but they donot necessarily know how to learn effectively.Finally,juniormiddle school students stress teacher roles not only as instructorbut as helper,and have made great demands on the teacher’steaching methods. 展开更多
