In terms of the aesthetic of folk literature and art,most researchers explain it drawing on general aesthetic theory,but pay less attention to the specific context and logic of individual cases.Folk aesthetics is deeply rooted in folk life,including local nature,village culture,farming life and folk belief.These folklore factors constitute the“local logic”,which regulates and influences folk aesthetic culture.The hidden“grammar”must be found in the folk life of the masses with a view to explaining the“essence”of folk aesthetics effectively.The concept of folk literature and art is understood in two different ways:One interprets it as“study of art and literature of folks”,regarding folk as a modifier of study of art and literature.Folk literature and art is regarded as the research object and the discipline is defined according to literary standard.This concept is from the perspective of literary studies,emphasizing that“folk literature and art is a special study of literature and art”.The other interprets it as“study of folk literature and art”,treating literature and art among the folks as the research object and defining the discipline in accordance with cultural standard.This concept is from the perspective of cultural studies.

The Current Situation and Counter Measures of Compilation of English Literature Textbooks in the Context of New Liberal Arts

With the promulgation of the“National Quality Standards for Undergraduate Teaching of Foreign Languages and Literatures in General Institutions of Higher Education”and“Teaching Guidelines”in 2018,the humanistic attributes of English majors and the important position of literature in foreign language learning are emphasized.Nowadays,the English literature curriculum is facing the problems of marginalization,reduction of class hours,simplification of curriculum and so on.Then in the context of the new liberal arts,it provides a new way to break through the dilemma of the literature curriculum.The study has collected the use of teaching materials of British and American literature courses in some colleges and universities across the country.Based on the survey results,the compilation of teaching materials in the new era should consider how to adapt to students’deep learning,autonomous learning,cross learning and research-based learning to provide guidance and support.The diversity of learning requires us to break the monotony of textbook compilation,show diversity and complement each other.

An Evaluation of Light Distribution in the Exhibition Areas of the Mimesis Art Museum Designed by Alvaro Siza

The works of Alvaro Siza have been referred that they were not the theoretical architecture but the sensual and experiential one. His works were designed on the base of their locality that each of them located. For the study, I selected a work of him, which was the Mimesis Art Museum at Paju in South Korea, and reviewed existing literatures to understand how he controlled the light and created the architectural spaces and forms in relation with the light, and I measured the illumination levels of the inside areas of the Mimesis Art Museum, and then, I surveyed the visitors’ responses on the lighting conditions of the Mimesis Art Museum. The results of the measurements showed that the illumination levels of the Mimesis Art museum on the first floor were effectively controlled to display the art works. The illumination levels on the third floor, however, were much higher than recommended illumination values for museum because of less controlled natural light. Therefore, more considerations to control the natural light are needed to secure stable environment in the exhibition spaces. Meanwhile, the answers of questionnaires concerning the quality of lighting conditions in the Mimesis Art Museum showed that the natural light was so effective to light the museum although the natural light illuminated some areas of the museum with high illumination levels.

Analysis of the ecological philosophy reflected in Canadian literature

With the rapid progress of modernization in the human society,the contradiction between economic development and ecological harmony has become a global problem.The Canadian literature contains a lot of ecological philosophy,which includes the love of nature,the care for animals and the spiritual ecology.Literary writers in Canada write about the relationship between man and nature,man and animals as well as the relationship among different people in the society.Under the three perspectives mentioned above,writers reveal many serious ecological problems.Using Canadian Literature as an example,we can dig out some valuable ecological ideas.These are very helpful for us to solve the increasingly serious crisis related to ecology.

Natural killer/T-cell lymphoma with concomitant syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion: A case report and review of literature

We report a case of natural killer(NK)/T-cell lymphoma with concomitant syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion(SIADH).The patient was a 64-yearold woman with a history of nasopharyngeal carcinoma of over 30 years.She was admitted with a chief complaint of intermittent fever for 2 mo.Palpation after admission indicated a swollen lymph node below the left jaw.Multiple imaging examinations on admission indicated multiple enlarged lymph nodes throughout the body.We performed a left submandibular lymph node biopsy,and the results revealed NK/T-cell lymphoma.A biochemical examination indicated Epstein-Barr virus positivity.At the same time,the patient developed hyponatremia.Based on her laboratory examination and clinical manifestation,decreased plasma osmolality,urine osmolality greater than plasma osmolality,lack of skin swelling,normal blood pressure,normal renal function,no adrenal function detected on serology,and no abnormalities in imaging examination of the adrenal glands,the likelihood of SIADH in the patient was high.After fluid restriction and administration of sodium chloride,the patient’s blood sodium level gradually increased.Subsequently,the immune function of the patient declined,there were severe symptoms of infection,and she died of respiratory failure.NK/T-cell lymphoma associated with SIADH has not,to our knowledge,been previously reported in PubMed.This case emphasizes the importance of monitoring serum ion levels,especially serum sodium,in patients with NK/T-cell lymphoma.

Comparison on Cultural Connotation of Plant in Treasure Island and The Swordsman

In the development of human civilization, plant has been closely attached to human beings, and also been endowed with rich cultural imagery. However, ascribed to the differences between Chinese and English cultures, plant of the same kind exhibits similar, distinct or vacant characteristics. This paper adopts comparison method so as to compare and to analyze the differences and similarities of cultural connotation contained in plant emerging in Treasure Island （a representative of western adventure literature） and The Swordsman （a representative of Chinese martial arts literature） and roles plant plays in a certain chapter, or the whole story. The literature study presents a general knowledge of research theories in this field and cultural background. Moreover, the induction method integrates and summarizes the prior analyses and researches. Reasons underlying those cultural differences are also expounded, including legend and folklore, literature works and convention and custom. The conclusion is that analyzing the cultural connotation of plant is of significance for understanding the corresponding cultural differences as well as appreciating adventure and martial arts literature.

The Impact of the Emergence of Eurasian Art Communities in the Globalizing World

Eurasian art study is an interdisciplinary approach to the solution of the problems of ethno-national rivalry and contradictions, dominating in the world. Although the roots of Eurasian arts goes back to Aristotelian-Avicennian tradition, created in Central Asia （CA） of the eve of the last millennium, the evidence of that common tradition： archaeological, philological, philosophical, linguistic, etc., interconnected with each other and recognized by the diversity of the academic schools of the last century, are not included into educational programs of the universities of the modem times. That miss, creating a gap in the world system of knowledge, restricts development of international affairs and diplomacy in its global significance. To bridge that gap, observing and analysing what was missed in the system of knowledge and how Eurasian arts communities are organizing themselves in CA of pre-soviet times, how they managed to develop through the last century and what is their perspectives now, in globalizing world, is the aim of this paper.

Investigation of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David＇s and Herman Melville＇s Views of Nature

This paper is aimed at interpreting Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau and Herman Melville's view of nature clearly by briefly analyzing their representative works. And this paper is composed of four parts. Chapter Ⅰ will make a detailed analysis of Emerson's view of nature and make a further investigation of his view by analyzing his work Nature.Chapter Ⅱ is about Thoreau's view of nature and his attitude to nature through his work Walden. Chapter Ⅲ firstly makes a brief introduction of Melville's view of nature and then interprets it by explaining the symbolic meaning of main characters' names in his famous work Moby-Dick. Multidisciplinary Approach of a Didactic Strategy for the Second Year of High School

During the chemistry week,“A musical,literary,ecological and chemical show”was performed with the participation of students of 552 and 553 groups of the National Preparatory School of National Autonomous University of Mexico.The students had the opportunity to put into action some skills related to reading,research,playing musical instruments and performance.This document relates each activity with the subjects connected in a transversal way(Greco-Latin etymologies,biology IV,health science,universal literature),previous subjects(aesthetic and artistic education,Spanish literature,geography and history),later subjects(history and Iberoamerican and Mexican literature).This show achieved the symbiosis between natural and social sciences and art in an entertaining learning environment.

“Animal Symbolicum”in the Natural and Cultural Semiospheres

The human as an“animal symbolicum”(by Ernst Cassirer)is a unique being included simultaneously in two semiospheres.One of them is the semiosphere of conventional signs and symbols created by himself in culture.The other semiosphere of natural signals and indexes is available to the human as an animal together with other living beings.Both these semiospheres described correspondingly by Y.Lotman and E.Hoffmeyer,are the subjects of anthroposemiotics and biosemiotics,semiotics of culture,and semiotics of nature.Their interaction is a subject of human ecosemiotics.Both external communicative processes among people and the internal mental activity of individuals contain together natural and cultural semiotic components that interact and counteract with each other.In these processes,the natural signal-indexical codes can be transformed and supplemented by cultural conventions(if,for example,natural expressive movements are subordinated to cultural norms of gesticulation)or modified from pure cognitive means to means of communication―as the codes mediating transmission of perceptual images by depictions.Natural codes can compete with systems of cultural signs on the force of influence on people(as in various fashion systems)or in accordance with them participate in the creation of complex heterogeneous texts(as in arts).
