The prediction of the peak width at half height is an important aspect in the optimization of the chromatographic operating conditions.In this paper,a linear relationship,between the peak widths at half height and the...The prediction of the peak width at half height is an important aspect in the optimization of the chromatographic operating conditions.In this paper,a linear relationship,between the peak widths at half height and the retention values with various isocratic elution is observed.In gradient elution,however,the relationship between the peak widths at half height and the so-called invented retention values that correspond to the mobile phase composition by eluting the solute from the column end is developed.We believe that there is almost the same band width at half height inside the column (in unit of length)for different solutes.The peak width at half height in the chromatogram(in unit of time)is mainly determined by the capacity factor of the solute when it is eluted front the column end.The larger the capacity factor of a solute eluted from the column end,the more slowly will be the solute eluted from the column end and the wider will be the peak width at half height.It is possible to predict the peak width at half height in various isocratic and gradient elutions by using this linear relationship.展开更多

A model of the pipeline was established based on distributed-parameter theory. The comparisons on a quotient module of output and input pressure of the moving ending model and neglected ending moving model are made on the frequency response. It is revealed that the moving ending of pipeline influences largely the quotient amplitude of output and input pressure, and the peak value of frequency resonance increases with the increase of pipeline’s length.展开更多
We report on the properties of strong pulses from PSR B0656+14 by analyzing the data obtained using the Urumqi 25-m radio telescope at 1540 MHz from August 2007 to September 2010.In 44 h of observational data,a total...We report on the properties of strong pulses from PSR B0656+14 by analyzing the data obtained using the Urumqi 25-m radio telescope at 1540 MHz from August 2007 to September 2010.In 44 h of observational data,a total of 67 pulses with signal-to-noise ratios above a 5σthreshold were detected.The peak flux densities of these pulses are 58 to 194 times that of the average profile,and their pulse energies are 3 to 68 times that of the average pulse.These pulses are clustered around phases about 5-ahead of the peak of the average profile.Compared with the width of the average profile,they are relatively narrow,with the full widths at half-maximum ranging from 0.28 ° to 1.78 °.The distribution of pulse-energies follows a lognormal distribution.These sporadic strong pulses detected from PSR B0656+14 have different characteristics from both typical giant pulses and its regular pulses.展开更多
Background:In March 2020,the WHO declared COVID-19 as a pandemic,and Tunisia implemented a containment and targeted screening strategy.The country’s public health policy has since focused on managing hospital beds.Me...Background:In March 2020,the WHO declared COVID-19 as a pandemic,and Tunisia implemented a containment and targeted screening strategy.The country’s public health policy has since focused on managing hospital beds.Methods:The study analyzed the bed occupancy rates in public hospitals in Tunisia during the pandemic.The evolution of daily cases and nonpharmaceutical interventions(NPI)actions undertaken by the Tunisian Government were also analyzed.The study used 3 indices to assess bed flexibility:Ramp duration until the peak,ramp growth until the peak,and ramp rate until the peak.The study also calculated the time shift at the start and peak of each wave to evaluate the government’s response efficacy.Results:The study found that the evolution of the epidemic in Tunisia had 2 phases.The first phase saw the pandemic being controlled due to strong NPI actions,while the second phase saw a relaxation of measures and an increase in wave intensity.ICU bed availability followed the demand for beds,but ICU bed occupancy remained high,with a maximum of 97%.The government’s response in terms of bed distribution and reallocation was slow.The study found that the most deadly wave by ICU occupied bed was the third wave due to a historical variant,while the fifth wave due to the delta variant was the most deadly in terms of cumulative death.Conclusions:The study concluded that decision-makers could use its findings to assess their response capabilities in the current pandemic and future ones.The study highlighted the importance of flexible and responsive healthcare systems in managing pandemics.展开更多
