The background of this article takes place after modern China. It is an essential change in the history of the Chinese salt industry that Sichuan salt supplies to Hubei.Sichuan salt jumped out of the original sales range, sold in Hubei.Since then,Hubei has become the most essential selling place of Sichuan salt, which continues to affect the economy of Sichuan. The War of Aid to Hubei was an inter-regional war in the warlord era.In order to realize“Local governance of Hubei”,the exploiting warlord Wang Zhanyuan was expelled.Sichuan chose to send troops, which economic factors are significant.Mainly, the Sichuan salt played a crucial role in it.Through the study of this problem,we can see that the economic factors in modern times occupy an essential position in the competition of warlords and promote the progress of history. 展开更多

Dedicated rural Communist Party members are the catalyst for rural reform CHANG Desheng made a promise to serve the people 45 years ago. When he joined the Communist Party of China(CPC) in 1966, Chang, now 67,and secretary of Jiangxiang Village Party Branch Committee, in east China’s Jiangsu Province, lived in a poor village with few facilities. He has since helped transfer Jiangxiang into a successful model for other communities to follow. Objective To recognize the spatial and temporal characteristics of iodine deficiency disorders(IDD),China national IDD surveillance data for the years of 1995–2018 were analyzed. Methods Time series analysis was used to describe and predict the IDD related indicators, and spatial analysis was used to analyze the spatial distribution of salt iodine levels. Results In China, the median urinary iodine concentration increased in 1995–1997,then decreased to adequate levels, and are expected to remain appropriate in 2019–2022.The goiter rate continually decreased and is expected to be maintained at a low level.Since 2002,the coverage rates of iodized salt and the consumption rates of qualified iodized salt(the percentage of qualified iodized salt in all tested salt) increased and began to decline in 2012;they are expected to continue to decrease.Spatial epidemiological analysis indicated a positive spatial correlation in 2016–2018 and revealed feature regarding the spatial distribution of salt related indicators in coastal areas and areas near iodine-excess areas. Conclusions Iodine nutrition in China showed gradual improvements. However,a recent decline has been observed in some areas following changes in the iodized salt supply in China. In the future, more regulations regarding salt management should be issued to strengthen IDD control and prevention measures, and avoid the recurrence of IDD. 展开更多

In order to utilize the wasted saline-sodic soils under shallow groundwater condition, a 3-year field study was carried in a field cropped with Lycium barbarum L. and irrigated by drip irrigation with saline groundwater under the water table depth of 30-40 cm in the northern Yinchuan Plain, China. Effects of cropping duration (one, two, and three years) on soil salinity, soil solution composition, and pH in three adjacent plots were investigated in 2008. Results showed that a high irrigation frequency maintained high soil water potential and subsequently facilitated infiltration and downward movement of water and salt in the crop root zone. Salt accumulated on the edges of the ridges, and soil saturated-paste electrical conductivity (ECe) was higher in the edge. Concentrations of Na^+, Ca^2+, Mg^2+, Cl^-, and SO24^- in the soil increased with the soil depth as did the ECe, while HCO3 and pH had a relative uniform distribution in soil profile. As planting year increased, the ECe and soil salts in the field had a decreasing tendency, while in the root zone they decreased immediately after irrigation and then remained relatively stable in the following growing seasons. HCO3 and pH had little change with the planting year. Results suggested that the application of drip irrigation with saline water could ameliorate saline-sodic soil and provide a relatively feasible soil environment for saline-sodic soils with shallow groundwater. 展开更多
