BACKGROUND Malignant tumors of the ileocecal region often cause intestinal obstruction.Emergency surgery is the main treatment for patients presenting with an obstruction.However,this procedure is associated with a hi...BACKGROUND Malignant tumors of the ileocecal region often cause intestinal obstruction.Emergency surgery is the main treatment for patients presenting with an obstruction.However,this procedure is associated with a high mortality rate and frequent complications.The placement of colon stents is commonly performed for obstructions in the distal colon and is a less invasive and safer procedure.However,obstructions in the proximal colon are more challenging to treat by stent placement due to the increased distance from the anus.CASE SUMMARY This case report concerns an 88-year-old man with malignant intestinal obstruction in the ileocecal region.He was contraindicated for general anesthesia and surgical enterostomy.The placement of a self-expandable metallic stent seems an alternative to surgery,although stenting in this area is thought to be difficult and few studies have been reported so far.After three attempts at different interventional approaches,a stent was successfully placed in the obstructed segment under fluoroscopic guidance.After the procedure,the patient's abdominal distension and abdominal pain were significantly better than before.CONCLUSION For patients with proximal colonic obstruction,self-expandable metallic stent placement under fluoroscopic guidance could be considered as a feasible treatment to relieve abdominal distension and pain in patients with acute bowel obstruction.It has the characteristics of high safety and high patient tolerance.However,further study is still needed.展开更多

Clean and efficient recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)has become an urgent need to promote sustainable and rapid development of human society.Therefore,we provide a critical and comprehensive overview of th...Clean and efficient recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)has become an urgent need to promote sustainable and rapid development of human society.Therefore,we provide a critical and comprehensive overview of the various technologies for recycling spent LIBs,starting with lithium-ion power batteries.Recent research on raw material collection,metallurgical recovery,separation and purification is highlighted,particularly in terms of all aspects of economic efficiency,energy consumption,technology transformation and policy management.Mechanisms and pathways for transformative full-component recovery of spent LIBs are explored,revealing a clean and efficient closed-loop recovery mechanism.Optimization methods are proposed for future recycling technologies,with a focus on how future research directions can be industrialized.Ultimately,based on life-cycle assessment,the challenges of future recycling are revealed from the LIBs supply chain and stability of the supply chain of the new energy battery industry to provide an outlook on clean and efficient short process recycling technologies.This work is designed to support the sustainable development of the new energy power industry,to help meet the needs of global decarbonization strategies and to respond to the major needs of industrialized recycling.展开更多

To get over their deficiencies, a novel singular value decomposition(SVD) method is proposed. This paper discusses in depth the current situation of cultural communication of Chinese online micro-short dramas,the challenges they face,and the strategies for guiding values.With the rapid development of Internet ...This paper discusses in depth the current situation of cultural communication of Chinese online micro-short dramas,the challenges they face,and the strategies for guiding values.With the rapid development of Internet technology,online micro-short dramas,as an emerging form of cultural communication,have rapidly risen to become an important force in the field of cultural communication in China with their short,concise,diversified contents and rapid dissemination.This paper first defines the definition and characteristics of online microshort dramas,and analyzes their current situation in cultural communication,including the significant improvement in quantity and quality,rich and diversified content themes,and a wide range of audience groups.However,the rapid development of online microshorts also faces challenges such as insufficient content innovation,serious homogenization,unsound regulatory mechanism,and ambiguous value orientation.To address these issues,this paper proposes value-oriented strategies including strengthening policy guidance and supervision,enhancing creators'quality and sense of responsibility,optimizing platform content ecology and recommendation mechanism,strengthening audience education and guidance,and promoting the deep integration of industry,academia,research and application.Through case studies and theoretical discussions,this paper aims to provide effective value guidance paths for the cultural dissemination of online micro-dramas,and to promote their development in a more healthy and positive direction.展开更多

BACKGROUND Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy(PELD)has become a mature and mainstream minimally invasive surgical technique for treating lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Repeated fluoroscopy,with more than 30 shots ...BACKGROUND Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy(PELD)has become a mature and mainstream minimally invasive surgical technique for treating lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Repeated fluoroscopy,with more than 30 shots on average,is inevitable to ensure its accuracy and safety.However,exposure to X-rays may pose a threat to human health.We herein report a case of ultrasound(US)-assisted PELD in two levels of LDH to explore a new possibility that can reduce the radiation dose during puncture and cannulation in PELD.CASE SUMMARY A 38-year-old man with low back pain and left leg pain for more than 7 years came to our clinic,his symptoms had aggravated for 1 month,and he was diagnosed with L3-4 and L4-5 disc herniations.He received US-guided PELD with good results:His straight leg elevation increased from 40 to 90 degrees after PELD,and his visual analog scale(VAS)and Oswestry Disability Index scores both significantly decreased immediately and 6 mo after PELD.With the guidance of US,he received only two shots of fluoroscopy(fluoroscopic time:4.4 s;radiation dose:3.98 mGy).To our knowledge,this is the first case of US-guided puncture and cannulation of PELD for LDH at two levels.CONCLUSION US could be used to guide PELD and has the potential to largely reduce radiation than traditional X-ray guidance.展开更多

Background: Tuberculosis (tb) causes significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. In Nigeria, the exact prevalence is not known but a progressive increase of the disease has been observed, with “epidemic states” r...Background: Tuberculosis (tb) causes significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. In Nigeria, the exact prevalence is not known but a progressive increase of the disease has been observed, with “epidemic states” reported in certain clusters. Even with the newer diagnostic tests for tb, diagnostic difficulties still occur. As a result, several diagnostic criteria have been adopted to aid the diagnosis of tuberculosis in these children. The main objective of this study was to identify Tb in children who were either living with adults who have Tb or in the environment of adults with Tb. Methodology: This was a prospective cross-sectional study conducted in Eku and Oria communities in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. Eku housed the Tuberculosis and Leprosy Referral Hospital where adults with tb were admitted in the first two months of their treatment. 128 children under 19 years of age were studied over a 3-month period. After obtaining relevant information from every child, a full physical examination and certain laboratory investigations were done. Results: There were 68 males and 60 females. The prevalence of Tb was 68% in those children living among adults with tb within the hospital and 50.6% in those living in the environment or community (p = 0.05). The prevalence of Tb in Bacille Calmette Guerin (BCG) immunized children was 66.2% as against 46.7% in those not vaccinated. Twenty-six of the infected children (57.8%) had only pulmonary disease while 45.7% had affectation of 2 or more organs. The positive predictive values of elevated erythrocyte sedimented rate (ESR), elevated white blood cells (WBC) count and positive gastric aspirates (GA) in diagnosing tb were 60.3%, 70.5% and 0% respectively, while that of abnormal chest X-ray (CXR) and positive Mantoux reaction were 93.6% and 93.7% respectively. Conclusion: The alarming prevalence of tb in these children was not surprising considering their contacts with the tb patients and was representative of similar high incidence areas as a whole. Active case finding efforts should be intensified for childhood contacts of adults with Tb for early identification of children with tuberculosis.展开更多

文摘The connotation of "amenity value" was elaborated,construction practices of "rural amenities" in Taiwan were reviewed,and its role in improving agricultural production environment and operation pattern,promoting rural economic development and quality of rural residents was highlighted.On this basis,a new rural value system was established from the perspectives of agricultural functions,industrial forms and economic forms,and the concept of "rural amenities" was defined.Moreover,the development targets of "rural amenities" were analyzed,including the overall objectives and those specific ones from 3 aspects:production,life and ecology,and finally suggestions on the development of "rural amenities" were proposed,that is,elaborate production,elegant life and refined ecology.Elaborate production focuses on maintaining the diversity of agricultural functions,promoting the upgrade and transformation of agriculture from the aspects of agricultural growth drivers,agricultural production mode,agricultural operation subjects,agricultural operation pattern,agricultural functions,and tries to bring new concepts to agricultural production and operation patterns through developing recreational agriculture and LOHAS rural tourism (LOHAS refers to Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability);elegant life emphasizes the optimization of rural communities,and the protection of cultural relics in rural areas;refined ecology highlights the construction of "rural amenities" from 3 aspects of rural ecosystem,rural living environment and farmland eco-environment.
文摘The exploitation of rocket guidance technology on the basis of the guidance law of Space Shuttle and Pegasus rocket was performed. A new efficient method of numerical iteration solution to the boundary value problem was put forward. The numerical simulation results have shown that the method features good performances of stability, robustness, high precision, and algebraic formulas in real computation. By virtue of modern DSP (digital signal processor ) high speed chip technology, the algorithm can be used in real time and can adaot to the requirements of the big primary bias of rocket guidance.
文摘Background: Tuberculosis (tb) causes significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. In Nigeria, the exact prevalence is not known but a progressive increase of the disease has been observed, with “epidemic states” reported in certain clusters. Even with the newer diagnostic tests for tb, diagnostic difficulties still occur. As a result, several diagnostic criteria have been adopted to aid the diagnosis of tuberculosis in these children. The main objective of this study was to identify Tb in children who were either living with adults who have Tb or in the environment of adults with Tb. Methodology: This was a prospective cross-sectional study conducted in Eku and Oria communities in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. Eku housed the Tuberculosis and Leprosy Referral Hospital where adults with tb were admitted in the first two months of their treatment. 128 children under 19 years of age were studied over a 3-month period. After obtaining relevant information from every child, a full physical examination and certain laboratory investigations were done. Results: There were 68 males and 60 females. The prevalence of Tb was 68% in those children living among adults with tb within the hospital and 50.6% in those living in the environment or community (p = 0.05). The prevalence of Tb in Bacille Calmette Guerin (BCG) immunized children was 66.2% as against 46.7% in those not vaccinated. Twenty-six of the infected children (57.8%) had only pulmonary disease while 45.7% had affectation of 2 or more organs. The positive predictive values of elevated erythrocyte sedimented rate (ESR), elevated white blood cells (WBC) count and positive gastric aspirates (GA) in diagnosing tb were 60.3%, 70.5% and 0% respectively, while that of abnormal chest X-ray (CXR) and positive Mantoux reaction were 93.6% and 93.7% respectively. Conclusion: The alarming prevalence of tb in these children was not surprising considering their contacts with the tb patients and was representative of similar high incidence areas as a whole. Active case finding efforts should be intensified for childhood contacts of adults with Tb for early identification of children with tuberculosis.
文摘Objective:we want to explore values and methods of public participation in land use planning through analysis on values of public participation and case of Ji'an County in Jiangxi Province.Methods:document and data method,case analysis method,qualitative and quantitative combined methods.Results:public participation in land use plays a positive role in improving science and practice of planning.Conclusions:preparation and implementation of land use planning should manifest human-oriented,public participation,wisdom of the masses,scientific demonstration,and democratic decision-making.
