The Veterinary Microbiology course is centered around the diagnosis and testing of pathogenic microorganisms,with the core value of“moral education and character development.”It reconstructs multidimensional teaching resources by integrating disciplinary achievements with clinical cases and implements a hybrid teaching approach combining virtual simulation and problem-based learning(PBL)through the“three stages+four models+three reflections”framework.Dual-qualification teachers employ various teaching methods,create a“six-in-one”model for ideological and political education,and conduct formative assessments based on the principles of diversified objectives and process emphasis.The hybrid teaching reform addresses issues such as fragmented knowledge,insufficient class hours,weak animal disease diagnostic abilities among students,limited application and expansion of knowledge points,and students’lack of proactive critical thinking skills.The application of hybrid teaching has shown significant advantages and effectiveness,providing a reference for teaching reform in similar microbiology courses.

Investigation on the Current Status and Effects of Online Course Learning for Nursing Students

[Objectives]To explore the current situation and effects of online learning from the perspective of students,as well as the learning dynamics,and to explore the online teaching methods.It is possible to put forward relevant suggestions for the problems presented by online teaching,find effective teaching methods,and explore appropriate online teaching methods.[Methods]The nursing students of the 2020,2021,and 2022 grades of Chengde Nursing Vocational College were selected as the research subjects.A self-made questionnaire survey method was adopted.The questionnaire had 5 items and 44 questions:3 questions on personal information,9 questions on the teacher level,12 ques-tions on the student level,7 questions on the technical level,and 13 questions on online learning satisfaction.[Results]In the process of on-line teaching,the cooperation between family and school can be carried out to give full play to the important role of family supervision in online learning and other education,which is conducive to maintaining the discipline of online courses on the Internet,increasing the online learning effect of students,and avoiding the temptation of the Internet to the greatest extent.In the process,we should increase students'self-control in online learning,help students shape realistic goals,and thus improve the effect of online learning.Technical level:increase information-based teaching,enrich teaching content,and introduce virtual simulation software to simulate clinical operations,so as to increase students’interest and enthusiasm in learning.[Conclusions]This study is expected to provide a certain reference for the smooth and efficient development of online teaching and online learning skills.

Research and Discussion on Flipped Classroom Combined with Case-Based Learning in Pharmacoeconomics Teaching

Objective:To explore the application effect of flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching methods in pharmacoeconomics teaching.Methods:The students majoring in clinical pharmacy in 2019 were selected as the study subjects,and the cost-effectiveness analysis of different dosage forms of Yinzhihuang in the treatment of neonatal jaundice was selected as the teaching case.The flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching method was used to carry out theoretical teaching to the students.After the course,questionnaires were distributed through the Sojump platform to evaluate the teaching effect.Results:The results of the questionnaire showed that 85.71%of the students believed that the flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching method was helpful in mobilizing the learning enthusiasm and initiative,and improving the comprehensive application ability of the knowledge of pharmacoeconomics.92.86%of the students think that it is conducive to the understanding and memorization of learning content,as well as the cultivation of teamwork,communication,etc.Conclusion:Flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching method can improve students’knowledge mastery,thinking skills,and practical application skills,as well as optimize and improve teachers’teaching levels.

Analysis of the Role of Problem-Based Independent Learning Model in Teaching Cerebral Ischemic Stroke First Aid in Emergency Medicine

Objective:To analyze the effect of using a problem-based(PBL)independent learning model in teaching cerebral ischemic stroke(CIS)first aid in emergency medicine.Methods:90 interns in the emergency department of our hospital from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected for the study.They were divided into Group A(45,conventional teaching method)and Group B(45 cases,PBL independent learning model)by randomized numerical table method to compare the effects of the two groups.Results:The teaching effect indicators and student satisfaction scores in Group B were higher than those in Group A(P<0.05).Conclusion:The use of the PBL independent learning model in the teaching of CIS first aid can significantly improve the teaching effect and student satisfaction.

Exploring the Application Effect of Flipped Classroom Combined with Problem-Based Learning Teaching Method in Clinical Skills Teaching of Standardized Training for Resident Doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Objective: To explore the application effect of flipped classroom combined with problem-based learning teaching method in clinical skills teaching of standardized training for resident doctors of traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods: The study used the experimental control method. The study lasted from September to November 2022. The subjects of this study were 49 students of standardized training for resident doctors of traditional Chinese Medicine from grades 2020, 2021 and 2022 of Dazhou integrated TCM & Western Medicine Hospital. They were randomly divided into experiment group (25) and control group (24). The experiment group adopted flipped classroom combined with problem-based learning teaching method, and the control group adopted traditional teaching method. The teaching content was 4 basic clinical skill projects, including four diagnoses of traditional Chinese Medicine, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, dressing change procedure, acupuncture and massage. The evaluation method was carried out by comparing the students’ performance and a self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the students’ evaluation of the teaching method. Results: The test scores of total scores in the experimental group (90.12 ± 5.89) were all higher than those in the control group (81.47 ± 7.96) (t = 4.53, P P Conclusions: The teaching process of the flipped classroom combined with problem-based learning teaching method is conducive to improving the efficiency of classroom teaching, cultivating students’ self-learning ability, and enhancing students’ willingness to learn.

Evaluating thermal expansion in fluorides and oxides:Machine learning predictions with connectivity descriptors

Open framework structures(e.g.,ScF_(3),Sc_(2)W_(3O)_(12),etc.)exhibit significant potential for thermal expansion tailoring owing to their high atomic vibrational degrees of freedom and diverse connectivity between polyhedral units,displaying positive/negative thermal expansion(PTE/NTE)coefficients at a certain temperature.Despite the proposal of several physical mechanisms to explain the origin of NTE,an accurate mapping relationship between the structural–compositional properties and thermal expansion behavior is still lacking.This deficiency impedes the rapid evaluation of thermal expansion properties and hinders the design and development of such materials.We developed an algorithm for identifying and characterizing the connection patterns of structural units in open-framework structures and constructed a descriptor set for the thermal expansion properties of this system,which is composed of connectivity and elemental information.Our developed descriptor,aided by machine learning(ML)algorithms,can effectively learn the thermal expansion behavior in small sample datasets collected from literature-reported experimental data(246 samples).The trained model can accurately distinguish the thermal expansion behavior(PTE/NTE),achieving an accuracy of 92%.Additionally,our model predicted six new thermodynamically stable NTE materials,which were validated through first-principles calculations.Our results demonstrate that developing effective descriptors closely related to thermal expansion properties enables ML models to make accurate predictions even on small sample datasets,providing a new perspective for understanding the relationship between connectivity and thermal expansion properties in the open framework structure.The datasets that were used to support these results are available on Science Data Bank,accessible via the link https://doi.org/10.57760/sciencedb.j00113.00100.
