This can be solved by improving the quality of enrollment, strengthening process management and quality monitoring, enhancing the quality of mentors, and building a management team. This provides theoretical support and practical guidance for the management of graduate education in medical colleges, which helps to improve the quality of graduate education and cultivate more high-quality medical talents for the national healthcare industry.展开更多

With this system, the related operations such as color Doppler ultrasound images acquisition, processing, preservation, and medical records are implemented. In the design of the system, a professional acquisition card is used for implementing the acquisition of ordinary video signals. In the meantime, DICOM interface is designed using DICOM3.0 protocol for implementing multi-mode acquisition.展开更多

The Critical Care Independent Multidisciplinary Program at Mayo Clinic identified and defined 11 key quality metrics. These metrics were automatically calculated using ICU Data Mart, a near-real time copy of all ICU electronic medical record(EMR) data. The automatic report was compared with data from a comprehensive EMR review by a trained investigator. Data was collected for 93 randomly selected patients admitted to the ICU during April 2012(10% of admitted adult population). This study was approved by the Mayo Clinic Institution Review Board.RESULTS: All types of variables needed for metric calculations were found to be available for manual and electronic abstraction, except information for availability of free beds for patient-specific time-frames. There was 100% agreement between electronic and manual data abstraction for ICU admission source, admission service, and discharge disposition. The agreement between electronic and manual data abstraction of the time of ICU admission and discharge were 99% and 89%. The time of hospital admission and discharge were similar for both the electronically and manually abstracted datasets. The specificity of the electronically-generated report was 93% and 94% for invasive and non-invasive ventilation use in the ICU. One false-positive result for each type of ventilation was present. The specificity for ICU and in-hospital mortality was 100%. Sensitivity was 100% for all metrics.CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrates excellent accuracy of electronically-generated key ICU quality metrics. This validates the feasibility of automatic metric generation.展开更多

Clinical data are generated both from the documentation of physicians' interactions with the patient and by diagnostic systems. During the care process, a number of different actors and roles (physicians, specialists, nurses, etc.) have the need to access patient data and document clinical activities in different moments and settings. Thus, data sharing and flexible aggregation based on different users' needs have become more and more important for supporting continuity of care at home, at hospitals, at outpatient clinics. In this paper, the authors identify and describe needs and challenges for patient data management at provider level and regional- (or inter-organizational-) level, because nowadays sharing patient data is needed to improve continuity and quality of care. For each level, the authors describe state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technology solutions to collect, manage, aggregate and share patient data. For each level some examples of best practices and solution scenarios being implemented in the Italian Healthcare setting are described as well.展开更多
