On Cultivating Students' Ability of Listening Comprehension in Senior High School in the Northwest of Guangxi

Nowadays, the role of listening course is changed and listening teaching begins to gain high priority in foreign language learning and teaching. However, the English level of students in China is still poor, especially in the northwest of Guangxi. One of the reasons is that teachers in senior high schools have a tendency to ignore listening, because they think that listening is time-consumed. They have to finish the teaching scheme punctually, though listening is the basic and important skill among the other three skills, listening teaching gains no large progress.

The Correlation between Explicit Grammatical Knowledge,Implicit Grammatical Knowledge and Reading Comprehension Ability of Senior High School Students

The role of grammar in language teaching has always been the question that researchers debate.In recent years,grammar knowledge has been distinguished in the foreign language acquisition research,namely the implicit knowledge and the explicit knowledge(Dai Manchun 2005;Gu Qiyi 2005).As to the reaserch of implicit and explicit grammar knowledge as well as their measurement,it is easy to find that many scholars have studied the role of two different kinds of grammar knowledge in second language development.But the research on the role of implicit and explicit grammar knowledge in second language reading comprehension is too few,not to mention the research on the role of implicit and explicit grammar knowledge in English reading comprehension in the senior high school.The purpose of this study is to find the relationship between implicit and explicit grammatical knowledge and English reading comprehension ability of senior high school students.In addition,since the vocabulary is important to reading comprehension,this factor will also be considered in the study.

The Analysis of Scaffolding Instruction Application in Senior High School English Writing Teaching —— Based on Students of Zuoyun High School in Datong

This study aims to investigate the relationship between English Writing achievement and scaffolding instruction with 100 Students from Zuoyun high school as subjects in a quantitative method.Results show that:1)On the whole,high school students have good use of scaffolding in English writing.2)The application of scaffolding instruction in high school English writing teaching has a significant positive correlation with English writing performance.3)On the whole,there is a significant difference in the application of the scaffolds in English writing between high and low-score group students.

Study on the stress level and coping channels of Chinese urban and rural senior high school students learning on-campus after their return to school during the post-COVID-19 pandemic period

Objective:The study aims to understand the level of perceived stress and related influencing factors among the urban and rural senior high school students in China and their channels of coping with the stress,when they shifted from home-based online learning to on-campus learning after their return to school during the post-Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic period.Methods:From January to March 2021,the Chinese Perceived Stress Scale(SSCPs-14)and a self-designed questionnaire were used for the online survey among the senior high school students from six secondary schools(three from cities and three from counties)in three provinces of China(Shandong,Shanghai and Sichuan)who were selected by convenient sampling.Descriptive analysis,t-test,χ^(2)test and multivariate logistic regression were used to analyze the data.Results:A total of 1,462 respondents were enrolled in the study,of which 41.66%were urban students and 58.34%were rural ones.Their overall average score of CPSS-14 was 21.69±7.65.The respondents reported the following influencing factors of perceived stress,including"Change of their learning and sleep schedule(OR=1.426,95%CI:1.056~1.927,P=0.021),"Communication with their family members(OR=2.820,95%CI:1.971~4.034,P<0.001)and"The family’s financial status"(OR=1.675,95%CI:1.181~2.376,P=0.004).Their coping strategies when facing with the stress were ranked from high to low frequency as follows:"Talk to friends(34.63%)","Talk to parents(26.88%)","Seek help from teachers(14.53%)","Deal with it on my own(13.21%)","Seek help from a psychological counsellor(7.95%),"Others(1.42%)"and"Ignore the problem(1.39%)".Rural students with three and more than three coping channels(44%)were more than urban students(36%),with a statistically significant difference between the two(χ^(2)=10.878,P=0.012).A higher proportion of respondents(49.4%)with fewer coping channels reported high level of perceived stress,compared with those with multiple coping channels(33.4%).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(χ^(2)=55.956,P<0.001).Conclusion:Senior high school students were faced with the stress brought about by the shift from the on-line learning to on-campus learning after their return to school during the post-COVID-19 pandemic period.The change of their learning and sleeping schedule,communication with family and their family’s financial status were the main influencing factors of senior high school students'stress after their return to school.Senior high school students with more coping channels had lower level of stress.Therefore,it is suggested that stress relief measures should be taken to promote the mental health of senior high school students in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period.

A Survey of the Correlation between Language Anxiety and Senior High School Student's Oral English Performance

Language anxiety is a kind of apprehension occurs when student need to perform oral English.Many researchers agree that language anxiety is an important factor in English learning.This thesis is going to test 80 students from Bordertown high school,Hunan Province,to uncover the English learning situation of senior high school students,to survey the correlation between language anxiety and oral English performance,and to give inspiration for senior middle school English teaching.

Study about the Acquisition of the English Relative Clauses for Chinese Middle School Students

In recent four decades, relative clause has interested many scholars due to its unique structural complexity. This articletook Chinese senior high school students as subjects and found their acquisition order of relative clauses fully coincided with Ku-no’s Perceptual Difficulty Hypothesis but partly agreed with Keenan&Comire’s Noun Phrase Accessibility Hypothesis and Hamil-ton’s SO Hierarchal Hypothesis, which can provide implications and references for the English relative clauses’ learning andteaching.

A Literature Review regarding Cervical Cancer Prevention Targeting Junior and Senior High School Students

Objective: To understand the state of education for the prevention of cervical cancer and trends in research. The subject of cervical cancer prevention will be examined. Method: Articles from the ICHUSHI Web version 5, CiNii, and PubMed databases for the period from 2009-2019 were used. Search terms used were cervical cancer, HPV/human papillomavirus, prevention, public awareness, and education. Results: 17 articles (9 Japanese and 8 English) were analyzed. The majority of students had heard of cervical cancer but did not know of the link between it and HPV. Vaccinated individuals were significantly more likely to have deeper knowledge regarding cervical cancer and HPV. Various factors affect the vaccination rate. These include knowledge of HPV and cervical cancer, age, ethnicity, the organization or location which administers the vaccine, how to breach the subject, finances, and the opinions of friends and family. In particular, consultations with parents lead to mothers recognizing the importance of the vaccine. By way of educational intervention, opinions have grown more positive about advancing awareness, being vaccinated, and having cervical cancer screenings for the future. Conclusion: The prevention of cervical cancer requires support and fostering the judgement based on sufficient awareness and adequate education. What we need is educational intervention rooted firmly in the current societal climate aimed not only at students, but at their parents as well.

Students' and Teachers' Perspectives towards the Use of L1(Mandarin) in EFL Classroom

In the context of China, the maximum use of English is promoted at governmental administrative levels to create effective learning policies(Van & Zhao, 2010) However, during the actual teaching process, the rules are frequently broken by teachers. Hence in order to gain a better understanding of the issue in Chinese senior high school context, the present research seeks to examine teachers' and students' attitudes and beliefs with respect to their perceived functions and effects in incorporating L1 in classrooms. In accordance with previous literature, The research indicated positive role of L1, especially in enhancing students' understanding of difficult concepts and creating comfortable learning environment. In addition, it is notable that, in difference from other studies, the National College Entrance Examination has exercised considerable influence on the perceptions of participants.

An Analysis on English Listening and Speaking Difficulties and Influential Factors for Senior High School Students

Nowadays English is more regarded as a"practical tool of communication"than the"knowledge to be tested".In this way,the ability of English listening and speaking will be more and more valued.But many people claim that Chinese students are learning"mute's English",which means that the average level of English listening and speaking abilities of Chinese students is still a bit low.So it is necessary to study the difficulties of high school students'listening and speaking in English and the influen-tial factors of it.This study is on the base of a research about the difficulties in English listening and speaking in a class of a key se-nior high school in Beijing.And there is a further study about the factors about the difficulties and the influential factors.This study aims to make students'needs for English in new situation be seen and to give a direction to English education.Through the study,findings can be drawn.For the difficulties for senior high school students in improving their abilities of English listening and speaking,the main difficulties are vocabulary,grammar,pronunciation,fears and culture.For the factors influencing their ability of English listening and speaking,the main factors are individual interest and effort and language environment.

延吉市高年级小学生睡眠情况调查

目的探讨高年级小学生睡眠现状及影响因素,为改善小学生的睡眠提供参考。方法以整群抽样的方法,选取吉林省延吉市某小学713名高年级学生进行问卷调查,分析不同性别、独生子女、运动、配有智能手机、使用电脑与睡眠的关系。结果运动组学生睡眠质量差的占比低,每天用电脑组和配有智能手机组学生睡眠不足占比高,差异有统计学意义。每天使用电脑组和配有智能手机组学生睡眠不足危险分别是对照组的2.061倍(95%CI:1.454~2.920)和1.459倍(95%CI:1.073~1.983)。结论运动可提高小学生睡眠质量,每天用电脑和配有智能手机是睡眠不足的影响因素。

高中生数学建模能力的调查研究

为了解高中生的数学建模能力现状,对A市某高中203名学生的数学建模能力进行测试,以此得到高中生数学建模能力的总体状况.调查发现,高中生数学建模能力水平整体偏低,高一学生数学建模能力水平低于高二学生,且存在显著性差异.

基于整本书阅读的辩论训练与过程评价对高中生议论文写作的影响

提升学生的议论文写作水平是高中语文教学的重点和难点。但仅仅依靠课文学习讲解或泛泛地开展整本书阅读,并不能有效提升高中生的议论文写作水平。为探索提升高中生议论文写作水平的有效方法,在一所普通高中实施一项为期14天的基于整本书阅读的辩论训练与过程评价实验。实验对象为该校高一和高二年级的45名学生志愿者。他们被分成6个小组,每组匹配1名导师,阅读材料包括《巴黎圣母院》《围城》《边城》等14本文学名著。实验结果表明,在整本书阅读后增加辩论训练和过程评价,可以非常显著地提升学生的议论文写作水平,具体表现在文章立意、论据选择和论证过程等方面。这些进步可能得益于本实验提升了学生的信息提取、事实判断、整合诠释、逻辑推理,以及分析性思维和批判性思维等高阶思维水平。因此,要提升高中生的议论文写作水平,将整本书阅读与辩论训练和过程评价整合在一起是一个值得尝试的办法。

高中生成就目标定向与学业成绩的关系:以自我调节学习为中介

为考察高中生成就目标定向与学业成绩之间的关系及自我调节学习在其间的中介作用,采用问卷调查法,对1389名高一、高二学生进行测查,并对其学业成绩进行半年的追踪。结果发现:(1)掌握接近和掌握回避目标对即时和延时的学业成绩具有显著的正向直接预测作用,成绩回避目标对即时和延时的学业成绩具有显著的负向直接预测作用;(2)成绩接近、掌握接近和掌握回避目标可通过自我调节学习间接正向预测即时和延时的学业成绩,而成绩回避目标可通过自我调节学习间接负向预测即时和延时的学业成绩。研究表明,不同的成就目标定向对学业成绩的影响不同,自我调节学习在其间起到了重要的间接作用。上述研究发现为高中生确立成就目标和提高自我调节学习能力,进而促进学业成绩提供了实证证据支持。

扭力理论视角下的性别歧视对中学生自杀行为的影响

目的基于扭力理论探究中学生自杀行为的影响因素,重点关注性别歧视对中学生自杀行为的影响,为制定预防和干预中学生自杀行为提供科学循证依据。方法于2020年9-11月采用分层随机整群抽样法,对全国10个省(自治区、直辖市)的11931名在校中学生遭受性别歧视与自杀行为的状况进行问卷调查,运用χ^(2)检验分析不同特征中学生遭受性别歧视与自杀行为的现状,运用二元Logistic回归分析方法分析性别歧视对中学生自杀行为的影响。结果在调查对象中,男生、女生分别占50.6%、49.4%,城市户籍、非城市户籍的中学生分别占38.8%、61.2%,初中生、高中生分别占21.9%、78.1%,留守或流动与非留守或流动中学生分别占21.5%、78.5%。调查对象自杀意念、自杀计划、自杀未遂的报告率分别为14.4%、8.6%、7.2%,其中女生的报告率均显著高于男生。调查对象性别歧视(家庭、学校、社会)的报告率分别为22.5%、22.9%、24.1%;其中高中生高于初中生,非城市户籍中学生高于城市户籍中学生,留守或流动中学生高于非留守或流动中学生。二元Logistic回归分析结果显示,以未遭受性别歧视者为参照,遭受家庭、学校以及社会性别歧视的中学生,自杀意念(OR=2.482,95%CI:2.226~2.768;OR=2.074,95%CI:1.858~2.315;OR=1.993,95%CI:1.787~2.223)、自杀计划(OR=2.674,95%CI:2.342~3.053;OR=2.319,95%CI:2.029~2.650;OR=2.335,95%CI:2.045~2.665)、自杀未遂(OR=2.928,95%CI:2.539~3.376;OR=2.469,95%CI:2.139~2.850;OR=2.442,95%CI:2.117~2.816)的报告率较高,差异均有统计学意义(P均<0.001)。结论在校中学生自杀行为的报告率较高,性别歧视是中学生遭遇心理扭力的重要动因,是促成其自杀行为的重要诱因。可通过开展性别平等、生命价值教育,培养其危机识别和应对策略,减少心理扭力,降低自杀行为的发生率。

教师自主支持与高中生选科成熟度的关系:职业生涯探索的中介及自主决定动机的调节作用

以845名高中生为被试,采用问卷法考察职业生涯探索在教师自主支持与高中生选科成熟度关系中的中介作用以及自主决定动机在这一中介过程中的调节作用。结果表明:(1)教师自主支持显著正向预测选科成熟度;(2)职业生涯探索在教师自主支持与选科成熟度之间起部分中介作用;(3)自主选择动机在教师自主支持通过职业生涯探索影响选科成熟度的中介模型前半段未起调节作用;控制选择动机在教师自主支持通过职业生涯探索影响选科成熟度的中介模型前半段起负向调节作用。

体育活动预防高年级小学生身体攻击及情绪的中介作用

目的探讨体育活动对高年级小学生身体攻击的预防功效,拟合情绪在体育活动预防高年级小学生身体攻击的中介作用模型,为理解体育运动对青少年攻击行为的预防功效及其作用路径提供证据。方法采用分层抽样方法选取扬州市某小学高年级(四至六年级)小学生1250名,在自愿并签订知情同意书的基础上,每位学生通过问卷星填答1份问卷,每套问卷包括青少年体力活动问卷、正负性情感量表儿童版及青少年攻击性量表3份问卷。主试宣读问卷填答指导语,然后学生通过电脑访问问卷星进行线上问卷填写,剔除无效问卷54份,最终获得有效问卷1196份。采用SPSS26.0及AMOS24.0软件进行统计分析。结果①高年级小学生体育活动、情绪与身体攻击得分均处于量表平均水平;②男生体育活动、积极情绪、身体攻击得分均高于女生;六年级小学生体育活动和积极情绪得分低于四、五年级,单亲家庭学生消极情绪、身体攻击得分高于非单亲家庭;③相关与回归分析结果表明,体育活动可解释高年级小学生身体攻击变异的8%,情绪解释高年级小学生攻击行为的9%;④模型拟合结果表明,情绪在体育活动影响高年级小学生身体攻击中起部分中介作用。结论体育活动影响高年级小学生身体攻击行为,体育活动不仅可以直接预防高年级小学生身体攻击行为,也可通过影响情绪间接地发挥预防其身体攻击行为的功效。
