In this study, based on chemical stabilization of warm and icerich frozen ground, the soil-cement column(SCC) for ground improvement was recommended to reinforce the foundations in warm and ice-rich permafrost regions. To explore the validity of countermeasures mentioned above, both the original foundation and the composite foundation consisting of SCC with soil temperature of -1.0℃ were prepared in the laboratory, and then the plate loading tests were carried out. The laboratory investigations indicated that the bearing capacity of composite foundation consisting of SCC was higher than that of original foundation, and the total deformation of original foundation was greater than that of composite foundation, meaning that overall stability of foundation with warm and ice-rich frozen soil can be improved by SCC installation. Meanwhile, a numerical model considering the interface interaction between frozen soil and SCC was established for interpretating the bearing mechanism of composite foundation. The numerical investigations revealed that the SCC within composite foundation was responsible for the more applied load, and the applied load can be delivered to deeper zone in depth due to the SCC installation, which was favorable for improving the bearing characteristic of composite foundation. The investigations provide the valuable guideline for the choice of engineering supporting techniques to major projects within the QTEC.展开更多

文摘Finding sustainable energy resources is essential to face the increasing energy demand.Trees are an important part of ancient architecture but are becoming rare in urban areas.Trees can control and tune the pedestrian-level wind velocity and thermal condition. In this study,a numerical investigation is employed to assess the role of trees planted in the windward direction of the building complex on the thermal and pedestrian wind velocity conditions around/inside a pre-education building located in the center of the complex.Compared to the previous studies(which considered only outside buildings),this work considers the effects of trees on microclimate change both inside/outside buildings.Effects of different parameters including the leaf area density and number of trees, number of rows,far-field velocity magnitude, and thermal condition around the main building are assessed. The results show that the flow velocity in the spacing between the first-row buildings is reduced by 30%-40% when the one-row trees with 2 m height are planted 15 m farther than the buildings.Furthermore, two rows of trees are more effective in higher velocities and reduce the maximum velocity by about 50%.The investigation shows that trees also could reduce the temperature by about 1℃around the building.
文摘In this paper, layered periodic foundations(LPFs)are numerically examined for their responses to longitudinal and transverse modes in the time and frequency domains.Three different unit-cells,i.e.,2-layer,4-layer,and 6-layer unit-cells,comprising concrete/rubber,concrete/rubber/steel/rubber,and concrete/rubber/steel/rubber/lead/rubber materials, respectively, are taken into account. Also, the viscoelasticity behavior of the rubber is modeled with two factors,i.e.,a frequency-independent(FI)loss factor and a linear frequency-dependent(FD)loss factor.Following the extraction of the complex dispersion curves and the identification of the band gaps(BGs),the simulations of wave transmission in the time and frequency domains are performed using the COMSOL software.Subsequent parametric studies evaluate the effects of the rubber viscoelasticity models on the dispersion curves and the wave transmission for the longitudinal and transverse modes. The results show that considering the rubber viscoelasticity enhances the wave attenuation performance. Moreover, the transverse-mode damping is more sensitive to the viscoelasticity model than its longitudinal counterpart. The 6-layer unit-cell LPF exhibits the lowest BG,ranging from 4.8 Hz to 6.5 Hz.
文摘The retarding effect of protein retarder on phosphorus building gypsum(PBG)and desulfurization building gypsum(DBG)was investigated, and the results show that protein retarder for DBG can effectively prolong the setting time and displays a better retarding effect, but for PBG shows a poor retarding effect.Furthermore, the deterioration reason of the retarding effect of protein retarder on PBG was investigated by measuring the pH value and the retarder concentration of the liquid phase from vacuum filtration of PBG slurry at different hydration time, and the measure to improve the retarding effect of protein retarding on PBG was suggested. The pH value of PBG slurry(<5.0)is lower than that of DBG slurry(7.8-8.5).After hydration for 5 min,the concentration of retarder in liquid phase of DBG slurry gradually decreases, but in liquid phase of PBG slurry continually increases, which results in the worse retarding effect of protein retarder on PBG.The liquid phase pH value of PBG slurry can be adjusted higher by sodium silicate, which is beneficial to improvement in the retarding effect of the retarder.By adding 1.0%of sodium silicate, the initial setting time of PBG was efficiently prolonged from 17 to 210 min,but little effect on the absolute dry flexural strength was observed.

文摘In the future development direction of the sixth generation(6G)mobile communication, several communication models are proposed to face the growing challenges of the task. The rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)foundation models provides significant support for efficient and intelligent communication interactions. In this paper,we propose an innovative semantic communication paradigm called task-oriented semantic communication system with foundation models.First,we segment the image by using task prompts based on the segment anything model(SAM)and contrastive language-image pretraining(CLIP).Meanwhile,we adopt Bezier curve to enhance the mask to improve the segmentation accuracy.Second,we have differentiated semantic compression and transmission approaches for segmented content.Third,we fuse different semantic information based on the conditional diffusion model to generate high-quality images that satisfy the users'specific task requirements. Finally, the experimental results show that the proposed system compresses the semantic information effectively and improves the robustness of semantic communication.

文摘With the development of economy and society and the growth of population, the high-rise and multi-function of commercial buildings have become an international trend. But it also poses huge fire hazards. Most of the existing studies’research objects are predominantly high-rise residential buildings, without considering the impact of different functional zones(Standard floor, entertainment zone, office zone, equipment room and so on)and personnel distribution of commercial buildings evacuation. And the influence of using elevators to carry evacuees on the refuge floor on personnel evacuation is rarely studied. In this work, the fire scenario of the Yangtze River InternationalConferenceCenter,a high-rise commercial building,is simulated with the Pyrosim programto get the necessary parameters under various fire scenarios and to calculate the available evacuation time TASET.At the same time, according to the complex functional zone of the commercial high-rise building and the distribution of people in different time periods,a reasonable evacuation strategy is developed and simulated by Pathfinder software. The results indicate that unorganized evacuation will lead individuals to take the erroneous evacuation route, resulting in a vast region of congestion;comprehensive consideration of the time staggering and the reasonable distribution of evacuation routes can significantly improve evacuation efficiency, and the TRSET of night and working hours is 36.6%–55.3%and 49.9%–79.6%of unorganized evacuation, respectively. For the night fire,60%of the people use elevator-refuge floor to evacuate is the optimal strategy;for the fire during working hours, half of the people on standard floors use the elevator to evacuate and people on multifunctional floors evacuate in four batches is the best plan. The results of this study can provide viable solutions and a foundation for analyzing the fire evacuation and safety of big commercial high-rise buildings.

文摘The specialized equipment utilized in long-line tunnel engineering is evolving towards large-scale,multifunctional,and complex orientations. The vibration caused by the high-frequency units during regular operation is supported by the foundation of the units, and the magnitude of vibration and the operating frequency fluctuate in different engineering contexts, leading to variations in the dynamic response of the foundation. The high-frequency units yield significantly diverse outcomes under different startup conditions and times, resulting in failure to meet operational requirements, influencing the normal function of the tunnel, and causing harm to the foundation structure, personnel, and property in severe cases. This article formulates a finite element numerical computation model for solid elements using three-dimensional elastic body theory and integrates field measurements to substantiate and ascertain the crucial parameter configurations of the finite element model.By proposing a comprehensive startup timing function for high-frequency dynamic machines under different startup conditions, simulating the frequency andmagnitude variations during the startup process, and suggesting functions for changes in frequency and magnitude,a simulated startup schedule function for high-frequency machines is created through coupling.Taking into account the selection of the transient dynamic analysis step length, the dynamic response results for the lower dynamic foundation during its fundamental frequency crossing process are obtained. The validation checks if the structural magnitude surpasses the safety threshold during the critical phase of unit startup traversing the structural resonance region. The design recommendations for high-frequency units’dynamic foundations are provided, taking into account the startup process of the machine and ensuring the safe operation of the tunnel.

文摘Affected by climate warming and anthropogenic disturbances, the thermo-mechanical stability of warm and ice-rich frozen ground along the Qinghai-Tibet engineering corridor(QTEC) is continuously decreased, which may delay the construction of major projects in the future. The investigations provide the valuable guideline for the choice of engineering supporting techniques to major projects within the QTEC.

文摘The semi-rigid pile-supported composite foundation is widely used in highway projects due to its effectiveness in increasing the bearing capacity and stability of foundations. It is crucial to understand the stress distribution across the embankment width and the behaviour of unreinforced foundations. Thus, five centrifuge tests were conducted to examine the bearing and deformation behaviours of NPRS(Non-Connected Piled Raft Systems)and GRPS(GeosyntheticReinforced Pile-Supported systems)with varying substratum stiffness, then a comparative analysis was conducted on embankment settlement, pressures underneath the embankments, and axial forces along the piles. The results indicated that greater substratum stiffness correlates with reduced settlement and deformation at various depths.Deformation occurring 5 meters from the embankment toe includes settlement in NPRS and upward movement in GRPS.The potential sliding surface is primarily located within the embankment in NPRS,whereas it may extend through both the embankment and foundation in GRPS.The pile-soil stress ratio and efficiency in NPRS are higher than in GRPS across the embankment. The axial force borne by end-bearing piles is significantly greater than that by floating piles. As the buried depth increases, the axial force in GRPS initially rises then declines, whereas in NPRS,it remains relatively constant within a certain range before decreasing. This study aids in assessing the applicability of composite foundations in complex railway environments and provides a reference for procedural measures under similar conditions.
文摘This study's goal is to present a dynamic portrait of the farm-buildings environment in Occitania,in Southern France,in order to better identify the transitions underway in agri-food chains. To this end,we undertook a ter-ritorial diagnosis based on actor statements, using 28 semi-structured interviews across Occitania. This diagnosis was enriched by graphic modelling, which enabled the spatialization of the dynamics described. We show that the process of standardisation of farm buildings prevails in the majority of the territories studied. This phenomenon has intensified in recent years with the development of vast photovoltaic-roofed sheds, accentuating the farm-land conversion and soil sealing. At the same time,in areas with strong environmental, landscape and heritage contexts,a'new adventure in farm buildings'(2022 survey)is taking shape. It is primarily driven by local short food chains, which rely on self-construction,repurposing and refurbishment, the sharing of tools and equipment, and which favour the use and reuse of local resources. This study shows that farm-buildings dynamics crystallise many challenges confronting the reterritorialisation of agriculture and food production.

文摘Due to the uneven seabed and heaving of soil during pumping, incomplete soil plugs may occur during the installation of bucket foundations, and the impacts on the bearing capacities of bucket foundations need to be evaluated. In this paper, the contact ratio(the ratio of the top diameter of the soil plug to the diameter of the bucket)and the soil plug ratio(the ratio of the soil heave height to the skirt height)are defined to describe the shape and size of the incomplete soil plug. Then, finite element models are established to investigate the bearing capacities of bucket foundations with incomplete soil plugs and the influences of the contact ratios, and the soil plug ratios on the bearing capacities are analyzed. The results show that the vertical bearing capacity of bucket foundations in homogeneous soil continuously improves with the increase of the contact ratio. However,in normally consolidated soil, the vertical bearing capacity barely changes when the contact ratio is smaller than 0.75,while the bearing capacity suddenly increases when the contact ratio increases to 1 due to the change of failure mode. The contact ratio hardly affects the horizontal bearing capacity of bucket foundations. Moreover, the moment bearing capacity improves with the increase of the contact ratio for small aspect ratios, but hardly varies with increasing contact ratio for aspect ratios larger than 0.5.Consequently,the reduction coefficient method is proposed based on this analysis to calculate the bearing capacities of bucket foundations considering the influence of incomplete soil plugs. The comparison results show that the proposed reduction coefficient method can be used to evaluate the influences of incomplete soil plug on the bearing capacities of bucket foundations.

文摘Phase-change material(PCM)is widely used in thermal management due to their unique thermal behavior. However, related research in thermal rectifier is mainly focused on exploring the principles at the fundamental device level, which results in a gap to real applications. Here,we propose a controllable thermal rectification design towards building applications through the direct adhesion of composite thermal rectification material(TRM)based on PCM and reduced graphene oxide(rGO)aerogel to ordinary concrete walls(CWs).The design is evaluated in detail by combining experiments and finite element analysis. It is found that,TRM can regulate the temperature difference on both sides of the TRM/CWs system by thermal rectification. The difference in two directions reaches to 13.8 K at the heat flow of 80 W/m^(2).In addition, the larger the change of thermal conductivity before and after phase change of TRM is,the more effective it is for regulating temperature difference in two directions. The stated technology has a wide range of applications for the thermal energy control in buildings with specific temperature requirements.

文摘To scrutinize the characteristics of wave-current loads on a bridge shuttle-shaped cap–pile foundation,a 1:125 test model was considered in a laboratory flume. The inline, transverse and vertical wave–current forces acting on the shuttle-shaped cap-pile group model were measured considering both random waves and a combination of random waves with a current. The experimental results have shown that the wave-current forces can be well correlated with the wave height, the wavelength, the current velocity, the incident direction and the water level in the marine environment. An increase in the current velocity can lead to a sharp increase in the inline and transverse wave-current forces, while the vertical wave-current force decreases. Moreover, the wave-current forces are particularly strong when a combination of high tide, strong wave and strong current is considered.

文摘A shaking table test for a bridge foundation reinforced by anti-slide piles on a silty clay landslide model with an inclined interlayer was performed. The deformation characteristics of the bridge foundation piles and anti-slide piles were analyzed in different loading conditions. The dynamic response law of a silty clay landslide with an inclined interlayer was summarized. The spacing between the rear anti-slide piles and bridge foundation should be reasonably controlled according to the seismic fortification requirements,to avoid the two peaks in the forced deformation of the bridge foundation piles. The“blocking effect”of the bridge foundation piles reduced the deformation of the forward anti-slide piles. The stress-strain response of silty clay was intensified as the vibration wave field appeared on the slope.Since the vibration intensified, the thrust distribution of the landslide underwent a process of shifting from triangle to inverted trapezoid, the difference in the acceleration response between the bearing platform and silty clay landslide tended to decrease, and the spectrum amplitude near the natural vibration frequency increased. The rear anti-slide piles were able to slow down the shear deformation of the soil in front of the piles and avoid excessive acceleration response of the bridge foundation piles.

文摘Collisions between a moving mass and an anti-collision device increase structural responses and threaten structural safety. An active mass damper(AMD)with stroke limitations is often used to avoid collisions. However,a strokelimited AMD control system with a fixed limited area shortens the available AMD stroke and leads to significant control power. To solve this problem, the design approach with variable gain and limited area(VGLA)is proposed in this study.First, the boundary of variable-limited areas is calculated based on the real-time status of the moving mass. The variable gain(VG)expression at the variable limited area is deduced by considering the saturation of AMD stroke. Then, numerical simulations of a stroke-limited AMD control system with VGLA are conducted on a high-rise building structure. These numerical simulations show that the proposed approach has superior strokelimitation performance compared with a stroke-limited AMD control system with a fixed limited area. Finally, the proposed approach is validated through experiments on a four-story steel frame.
