Effects of Biostimulant NEAU10 on Growth of Rice Seedlings and Soil Physicochemical Parameters

The process of rice(Oryza sativa L.)seedling cultivation is often subjected to adverse environmental stress.Biostimulants regulate the robust growth of rice seedlings and play a crucial role in promoting the green and ecological development of agriculture.In this study,1.0 and 2.0 g•m^(-2) of the biostimulant were applied to soil in rice seedbeds.Growth indicators of rice,antioxidant enzyme activities and soil physicochemical characteristics were assessed at the 2.5-leaf and 4-leaf stages of rice.The results indicated that applying 2.0 g•m^(-2) of the biostimulant at both the 2.5-leaf and 4-leaf stages had the most significant promoting effect on rice growth.At the 2.5-leaf and 4-leaf stages,the number of fibrous roots increased by 23.43%and 22.25%,stem base width increased by 19.05%and 19.58%,above ground dry weight increased by 18.09%and 16.47%,root dry weight increased by 19.67%and 18.28%,leaf peroxidase(POD)activity increased by 34.44%and 42.94%,superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity increased by 37.24%and 56.79%,malondialdehyde(MDA)content decreased by 18.60%and 27.67%,and chlorophyll content increased significantly by 28.31%and 34.24%,respectively.At the 4-leaf stage of rice,urease,phosphatase and cellulase activities in the seedbed soil increased by 42.13%,25.96%and 33.59%,respectively,while soil alkaline nitrogen,available phosphorus and available potassium content decreased by 19.76%,19.02%and 17.88%,respectively.The application of biostimulants played a crucial role in promoting the growth of rice seedlings and enhancing soil nutrient absorption. 展开更多

Specifically, 12 rice varieties of three types were investigated under Cd stress, covering germination rate, shooting index, vigor index, seedling and shoot lengths, and fresh weights. The results showed that as Cd concentration grew, seed germination and seedling growth kept increasingly inhibited; germination index, vigor index, root length, shoot length and fresh weights went down; inhibition effects on seed germination and seedling growth were conventional rice〉two-line hybrid rice〉three-line hybrid ,rice. Shanyou 9588, Tianyou 998, Chuanxiang 8, and Y Liangyou 1 performed ~rongly in Cd tolerance; C Liangyou 651, Nei 5 You 263, Xiangwanxian 16, Huanghuazhan, Xiangwanxian 13, and Zhunliangyou 527 performed poorly in Cd tolerance, and Cd tolerance of rest treatments were moderate. 展开更多

The effects of farming method, rice variety and seedling-raising method were studied on the population growth quality and grain yield of the mechanized transplanting rice by way of three-factor split plot design. The results showed that the no-tillage mechanical transplanting treatment was poorer than the conventional mechanical transplanting treatment in transplanting quality in general, but the former was similar to the latter in population growth quality. In regard to grain yield, the no-tillage mechanical transplanting treatment was lower than the conventional me- chanical transplanting treatment. Raising both pot-mat seedling and plastic-tray seedling did not make much difference in population growth and grain yield of mechanized transplanting rice, so both of the seedling-raising methods can be adopted according to practical conditions. 展开更多

Understanding the characteristics of rice productivity is of great importance for achieving high yield formation.However,such traits have not yet been studied for different ages of hydroponically grown long-mat rice seedlings(HLMS),which constitutes a new method of seedling cultivation.Field experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of seedling age on the growth stage,photosynthesis characteristics,dry matter production,and yield of HLMS.A conventional japonica rice cultivar(Wuyunjing 24)and an indica hybrid rice cultivar(6 Liangyou 9368)were used as test materials.The results showed that the whole phase was shortened by 13-15 days for young seedlings(13-day-old)compared with old seedlings(27-day-old),which occurred because the growth process accelerated with the transplantation of young seedlings.As seedling age increased,the dry matter weight of stems of individual plants and of the population increased at the transplanting stage but decreased at the maturity stage(MS).Compared with that of 27-day-old seedlings,the average ratio of panicle weight to total plant dry weight of 13-day-old seedlings during a 2-year period increased by 3.71%for Wuyunjing 24 and by 3.78%for 6 Liangyou 9368 at the MS.Moreover,as seedling age increased,the leaf area index and photosynthetic potential decreased for both cultivars,and the photosynthetic rate markedly decreased at the heading stage(HS).With the exception of that of Wuyunjing 24 from the jointing stage to the HS in 2014,the crop growth rate was higher for young seedlings than for old seedlings.Grain yield significantly decreased with seedling age,but no significant difference was detected between the 13-and 20-day-old seedlings for either cultivar.Therefore,equilibrious and high biological yield formation,vigorous growth in the late stages,and high photosynthetic production capacity are important characteristics and causes of the efficient and sustainable output of photosynthetic systems and for achieving high yield formation in young transplanted seedlings(13-20-day-old). 展开更多

Using early indica rice Zhongzao 39 and japonica rice Xiushui 134 as the experimental materials, the effects of 4 temperature levels after transplantation on turning green, leaf growth, tillering, dry matter accumulation and nutrition absorption were studied using a greenhouse and an artificial climate chest. We found that (1) tillering did not occur and growth of one new leaf took over 15 days at 16℃. New leaf growth took over 10 days and tillering occurred after 15 days of transplanta- tion at 19 ℃. Tillering appeared 10 days after planting and new leaf growth took 5 days between 22 and 25 ℃. This showed that low temperature impeded the turn- ing green of rice seedlings and the temperature must reach above 19 ℃ to ensure timely appearance of new leaf, tillering and turning green in rice seedlings. (2) When the temperature was 10 increased, both 100-seedling dry weight and nitrogen absorption increased. At temperatures lower 11 than 19 ℃, both dry weight incre- ment and nitrogen absorption were low. Nitrogen absorption of all organs increased obviously between 19 and 22 ℃. Thus, 19 ℃ was found to be an minimum tem- perature for plant organs to absorb nutrients. (3)Tiller of seedling cultivated on dry- land soil and substrate grew quickly and tillering occurred about 7 days after trans- planting. After that, the growth rate was about 0.18 tiller per day. For seedlings cultivated in slurry, tillering occurred 10 days after transplanting and the tillers grew at a rate of 0.16 tiller per day. However, substrate choice during the seedling rais- ing stage had no significant influence on leaf age. (4) Japonica rice exhibited stronger resistance to low temperature than indica rice. Tillering began at about the same time after transplanting in both rice varieties, but japonica rice exhibited higher tillering speed than early indica rice. The speed of leaf growth was higher in japoni- ca rice before transplantation but higher in indica rice after transplantation. 展开更多

[Objective] With a rice variety "Long Rice 11" as a test cultivar,an experiment of raising rice seedlings with the new substrata prepared from biochar,and maize stalks,rice husks,organic fertilizer,turf,zeolite,fine river sand and arable layer soil by mixing according to certain volume proportions was caried out,in order to investigate the physical and chemical properties of different organic-material seedling-raising substrata and the effects of these substrata on seedling growth.[Method] The experiment raised seedlings in greenhouses and adopted randomized block arrangement.[Result] The substratum of biochar mixed with maize stalks and rice husks could increase the maximum water-holding capacity of the substratum,reduce the volume weight of the substratum and improve the buffering effect of the substratum.It also had great effects on the contents of alkali-hydrolyzale nitrogen and rapidly available potassium in the substratum,and could improve the root number and substantial degree of rice seedlings.[Conclusion] Biochar with maize stalks and rice husks(the treament HC) is the optimal substratum in this study. 展开更多

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of bast fiber seedling film on rice seedling growth. In this study, indica cultivar 'Xiangwanxian 13' and indica hybrid cuitivar 'Y Liangyou 1' were used to investigate the changes of aboveground part growth and root respiration enzyme activities of rice seedlings af- ter the application of bast fiber seedling film. The results showed that, compared with the CK, the accumulation of shoot biomass, chlorophyll content, root bleeding intensity, soluble sugar content, and nitrate nitrogen content were significantly im- proved with the application of bast fiber seedling film. In addition, the activities of malate dehydrogenas (MDH) and alcohol dehydrogenas (ADH) were higher in rice seedling roots raised with bast fiber seedling film, while there was no significant change in lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) after the application of bast fiber seedling film. However, there were no significant differences in these indexes between the two cultivars. All the results indicated that the growth and development of rice seedlings could be improved with the application of bast fiber seedling film. 展开更多

The genetic pathways of rice seedling growth have a major impact on seedling emergence from soil and development.In this study,we identified a new bHLH transcription factor,BEAR1,from rice RNAi mutant library.Both the BEAR1-RNAi and bear1 CRISPR mutants had accelerated seedling growth.Histological section of leaves showed accelerated development of lacuna and vascular bundles in bear1 mutant.GUS staining revealed that BEAR1 was highly expressed in coleoptiles and leaves at seedling stage.Expression analysis of gibberellin(GA)biosynthesis and metabolic genes and content determination of active GAs indicated that the expression of GA biosynthesis genes,especially OsKS4 and OsCPS2,were upregulated and the GAs content were significantly increased in bear1,which correlated with the seedling phenotype of bear1 mutant.Molecular and biochemical assays revealed that BEAR1 directly binds to the promoter of OsKS4,thereby repressing its expression.Haplotypes analysis showed clear differentiation in indica and japonica rice varieties,and a strong correlation with seedling height.These findings provide novel insights into the regulation of seedling growth in rice. 展开更多

This study was conducted to isolate and characterize the plant growth-promoting potential of fungal endophytes from the roots of Diket red,a traditional rice plant from the Cordillera,Northern Luzon.Eighteen morphospecies of filamentous endophytes were isolated of which twelve isolates were successfully identified to the species level.These isolates were identified as Aspergillus versicolor,Aspergillus sp.,Chaetosphaeria sp.,Cladosporium cladosporioides,Hypocrea lixii,Microascus murinus,and Trichoderma harzianum.The identified twelve isolates were selected to screen in vitro for their plant growth-promoting characteristics,and evaluated in vivo for their beneficial effects on seedling vigor and early seedling growth.Isolate PPL14 produced the highest IAA at 55.5μg ml^(-1)and M.murinus PPL10 produced the highest amount of IAA at 3.73μg IAA mg^(-1)dry mycelia wt.The seedling vigor assay and in vivo plant growth promotion bioassay indicated overall positive effects of culture filtrate(CF)application of the endophyte isolates.Rice seeds and seedlings grown in aseptic condition and treated with endophyte CFs displayed significantly enhanced levels of germination,seedling vigor,shoot,root,and total plant growth,and biomass compared to non-treated control.Other plant growth-promoting characteristics were also studied including phosphate solubilization,siderophore production,ammonia production,and catalase activity.This study supports the potential use of fungal endophytes as bio-inoculants for plant growth promotion and enhancement of nutrient assimilation of agriculturally important crops. 展开更多

The effects of soil moisture content, pot seedling buried depth, and pot seedling height on the survival rate and growth of dry planted seedlings were researched by field experiment. The results showed that the seedling survival rate and growth were enhanced with the increase of soil moisture content after pot seedling transplanting, but there was no significant difference in the survival rate and growth of seedlings with 85% and 100% of soil moisture content. Pot seedling buried depth was one of the important factors affecting the survival rate, and when the pot seedlings were buried 2 cm deep, the seedlings showed high survival rate and excellent growth. Under the same condition of soil moisture content and buried depth, seedlings with pot seedling height of 15 cm had the best survival rate and growth. Therefore, the optimized conditions for dry-cultivated rice seedling planting were soil moisture content of 85%, pot seedling buried depth of 2 cm, and pot seedling height of 15 cm. 展开更多

Phosphorus(P)is an essential element for plant growth but is often limiting in ecosystems;therefore,improving the P fertilizer use efficiency is important.Biochar and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)may enhance P cycling in paddy soils that contain high content of total P but low content of available P(AP).In this study,the effects of biochar addition and Rhizophagus irregularis inoculation on the organic and inorganic P contents and phosphatase activities in paddy soils,rice seedling growth,and AMF colonization were investigated.Compared with no biochar addition,biochar addition enhanced the percentage of spore germination at day 7,hyphal length,most probable number,and mycorrhizal colonization rate of R.irregularis by 32%,662%,70%,and 28%on average,respectively.Biochar and R.irregularis altered soil P cycling and availability.Biochar and R.irregularis,either individually or in combination,increased soil AP content by 2%–48%.Rice seedlings treated with biochar and R.irregularis produced greater biomass,improved root morphology,and increased nutrient uptake compared with those of the control without biochar and R.irregularis.The results suggest that combined application of biochar and R.irregularis is beneficial to rice cultivation in paddy soils with high content of total P but low content of AP. 展开更多

【目的】明确基肥中添加微生物菌剂和提苗肥中添加尿素对稻茬烤烟促早生快发的效果。【方法】以云烟87为材料,采用双因素试验,设计基肥施用方法(基肥中未添加微生物菌剂、基肥中添加微生物菌剂),以及提苗肥施用方法(单施烟草专用提苗肥... 【目的】明确基肥中添加微生物菌剂和提苗肥中添加尿素对稻茬烤烟促早生快发的效果。【方法】以云烟87为材料,采用双因素试验,设计基肥施用方法(基肥中未添加微生物菌剂、基肥中添加微生物菌剂),以及提苗肥施用方法(单施烟草专用提苗肥、单施尿素、烟草专用提苗肥和尿素混施),研究了微生物菌剂、优化提苗肥及其互作对烤烟的农艺性状、干物质量、养分积累,以及烟叶的物理性状、化学成分、感官质量和经济性状的影响。【结果】基肥中添加微生物菌剂和烟草专用提苗肥配施尿素可增加最大烟叶面积,提高烤烟干物质量和氮、磷、钾养分积累量,提高烟叶物理性状指数、化学成分可用性指数、感官质量和经济效果指数,增加烟叶产值,但施用尿素作提苗肥可提高叶片厚度、叶面积质量和烟碱含量。优化基肥添加微生物菌剂和提苗肥处理烟叶的物理性状指数、化学成分可用性指数、感官质量和经济效果指数较传统施肥方法分别提高2.85%,18.48%,9.79%和3.76%。【结论】稻茬烤烟穴施基肥中添加微生物菌剂、专用提苗肥中适量配施尿素可以作为促进烤烟早生快发的一项技术措施,但必须控制施氮总量。 展开更多

镉(Cd)胁迫是植物面临的主要重金属胁迫之一,对植物的生长和发育产生严重的影响。尽管已有研究表明植物小肽具有缓解胁迫的作用,但水稻中镉毒害的研究很少。在前期研究中,通过翻译组、转录组和蛋白质组鉴定了一系列水稻小肽,其中发现Osp... 镉(Cd)胁迫是植物面临的主要重金属胁迫之一,对植物的生长和发育产生严重的影响。尽管已有研究表明植物小肽具有缓解胁迫的作用,但水稻中镉毒害的研究很少。在前期研究中,通过翻译组、转录组和蛋白质组鉴定了一系列水稻小肽,其中发现Ospep5可以显著地提高水稻的耐盐性。本研究以日本晴野生型、日本晴过表达Ospep5-OX和日本晴CRISPR/Cas9突变体ospep5-3作为水稻试验材料,研究Ospep5对镉胁迫下水稻幼苗生长的影响。试验结果表明:500μmol L^(–1)CdCl_(2)处理显著抑制了水稻幼苗的形态生长和叶绿素含量,同时超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)、脯氨酸(Pro)含量、丙二醛(MDA)含量和镉离子含量显著提高。与单独的镉胁迫相比,外源施加Ospep5后,可以有效缓解镉胁迫对水稻幼苗的形态生长的抑制,显著提高超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)活力,同时显著降低丙二醛(MDA)含量、脯氨酸(Pro)含量和镉离子含量,并且能够促进耐镉基因(OsHMA2、OsHMA3、OsCAL1)的表达。总之,Ospep5通过调节水稻幼苗各种生理生化反应以及调控耐镉基因表达的方式,最终提高水稻幼苗对镉胁迫的耐受性。 展开更多

为探究不同用量氮对香稻苗期生长和生理指标的影响,本试验在砂培条件下以香粳稻品种稻花香2号为试材,设置N20(20 mg/L)、N30(30 mg/L)、N40(40 mg/L)、N50(50 mg/L)、N60(60 mg/L)共5个氮浓度处理,研究其对香稻苗期生长和叶片氮代谢关... 为探究不同用量氮对香稻苗期生长和生理指标的影响,本试验在砂培条件下以香粳稻品种稻花香2号为试材,设置N20(20 mg/L)、N30(30 mg/L)、N40(40 mg/L)、N50(50 mg/L)、N60(60 mg/L)共5个氮浓度处理,研究其对香稻苗期生长和叶片氮代谢关键酶活性、抗氧化酶活性、可溶性蛋白含量等的影响,并对与氮素水平显著相关的指标和形态学指标进行Z分综合评价。结果表明,随着外源氮浓度的升高,叶片硝酸还原酶(NR)、亚硝酸还原酶(NIR)、谷氨酰胺合成酶(GS)、谷氨酸脱氢酶(GDH)和谷氨酸合成酶(GOGAT)活性和可溶性蛋白含量均呈先上升后下降的变化趋势,且均于N50处理下最高。随着氮浓度升高,超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)、过氧化物酶(POD)活性呈现先下降后上升的趋势,SOD活性在N40处理下最低,POD活性在N30处理下最低。丙二醛(MDA)含量低氮(30 mg/L以下)处理显著高于高氮(40 mg/L以上)处理。N40~N60处理的相关指标综合评价的总和(∑Z_(i))为正值,其中,N50处理水平的∑Z_(i)值最高,为10.201。综合来看,40~60 mg/L氮素可以保证稻花香2号苗期生长发育的正常进行,但低于或者高于50 mg/L均会对氮代谢相关酶活性产生一定抑制,并且低于40 mg/L会显著增加幼苗叶片MDA的积累,故50 mg/L的氮最有益于稻花香2号幼苗的生长发育。 展开更多

苗床施硒方式对水稻生长发育及籽粒富硒的影响

以粳稻品种南粳46为材料,于苗期应用新型包膜缓控释硒肥,设置2种硒肥施用方式[基质土混拌硒肥育秧(基质土处理)和基质块下撒施硒肥育秧(基质块处理)]、4种硒肥浓度(15、30、45、60 kg·hm^(-2))及不施硒肥对照(CK)处理,测定秧苗素... 以粳稻品种南粳46为材料,于苗期应用新型包膜缓控释硒肥,设置2种硒肥施用方式[基质土混拌硒肥育秧(基质土处理)和基质块下撒施硒肥育秧(基质块处理)]、4种硒肥浓度(15、30、45、60 kg·hm^(-2))及不施硒肥对照(CK)处理,测定秧苗素质、产量及籽粒硒含量等相关指标,研究苗期一次性于秧盘内基施缓释硒肥对水稻生长发育及籽粒富硒的影响,探究新型硒肥简化施用方式。结果表明:与CK相比,秧苗成苗率随硒肥施用浓度的增加而下降,基质块处理成苗率均显著高于基质土处理。施用硒肥后,盘结力则随成苗率的下降而降低,秧苗其他素质随着硒肥浓度的上升而增加。2种育秧方式下秧苗中硒积累量较CK显著增加,60 kg·hm^(-2)硒肥处理较15 kg·hm^(-2)硒肥处理秧苗硒积累量分别提高67.53%、84.49%。与CK相比,硒肥处理秧苗漏插率增加,产量分别降低1.06%~16.27%、1.35%~3.35%。2种育秧方式下施用硒肥处理籽粒硒含量较CK分别增加46.63%~223.71%、62.38%~249.89%,最大值分别为127.09、139.50μg·kg^(-1);同一硒肥浓度下,基质块处理籽粒硒含量均高于基质土育秧处理。综上,基质块下撒施硒肥可在保证秧苗正常成苗且稳产的情况下实现籽粒中硒的富集,是一种可行的苗期简化施硒方式。 展开更多

一体化旱耕整地泡田模式对稻田还原性物质和机插秧早期生长的影响

针对稻麦轮作地区稻田耕整地质量不高以及还原性物质积累不利于机插秧早期生长等问题,探讨了应用一体化旱耕整泡田模式促进机插秧早期高质量生长的可行性。于2021—2022年在江苏省宿迁市泗洪县试验基地设置3种耕整地模式:一体化旱耕整地... 针对稻麦轮作地区稻田耕整地质量不高以及还原性物质积累不利于机插秧早期生长等问题,探讨了应用一体化旱耕整泡田模式促进机插秧早期高质量生长的可行性。于2021—2022年在江苏省宿迁市泗洪县试验基地设置3种耕整地模式:一体化旱耕整地+泡田模式(Treatment 1,T1)、旱旋+泡田+水旋整地模式(Treatment 2,T2)、泡田+水旋整地模式(Treatment 3,T3),测定了稻田土壤氧化还原电位、不同土层还原性物质含量和机插稻生长早期根系和地上部性状。结果表明,土壤氧化还原电位以T1最高,在最低点较T2和T3分别提高19.3%~24.7%和31.6%~41.1%。不同耕整地模式显著影响了0~5 cm和5~10 cm土层内还原性物质总量、活性还原性物质、亚铁离子和二价锰离子的含量。其中,相较于T2和T3的均值,T1在0~5 cm和5~10 cm土层内活性还原性物质含量分别降低31.9%~37.6%和22.6%~23.5%,亚铁离子含量分别降低30.5%~40.3%和25.3%~27.3%。这一结果主要与T1显著降低了0~5 cm和5~10 cm土层的土壤容重,并提高了相应土层的土壤总孔隙度有关。机插秧根系性状(总根数、根干重、根系氧化力)和地上生长(茎蘖数、干物质积累量)均以T1最高,T2次之,T3最低。相比较于T2和T3的均值,移栽后30 d条件下T1的总根数增加9.6%~32.9%,根干重增加19.5%~53.8%,根系氧化力增加27.3%~34.7%,茎糵数增加9.0%~15.4%,干物质积累量增加30.7%~44.7%。相关性分析表明,T1条件下机插秧早期的高质量生长主要是由于0~5 cm土层内还原性物质含量的降低,特别是活性还原性物质和亚铁离子含量的显著降低(P<0.05)。综上,在稻麦轮作地区应用一体化旱耕整地泡田模式有助于降低稻田土壤中还原性物质含量,促进机插秧早期高质量生长。 展开更多
