Phase Error Compensation of Three-Dimensional Reconstruction Combined with Hilbert Transform

Nonlinear response is an important factor affecting the accuracy of three-dimensional image measurement based on the fringe structured light method.A phase compensation algorithm combined with a Hilbert transform is proposed to reduce the phase error caused by the nonlinear response of a digital projector in the three-dimensional measurement system of fringe structured light.According to the analysis of the influence of Gamma distortion on the phase calculation,the algorithm establishes the relationship model between phase error and harmonic coefficient,introduces phase shift to the signal,and keeps the signal amplitude constant while filtering out the DC component.The phase error is converted to the transform domain,and compared with the numeric value in the space domain.The algorithm is combined with a spiral phase function to optimize the Hilbert transform,so as to eliminate external noise,enhance the image quality,and get an accurate phase value.Experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the accuracy and speed of phase measurement.By performing phase error compensation for free-form surface objects,the phase error is reduced by about 26%,and about 27%of the image reconstruction time is saved,which further demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of the method. 展开更多

The characteristics of three-dimensional (3-D) tidal current in the Oujiang Estuary are investigated according to in situ observations. The Oujiang Estuary has features of irregular coastline, complex topography, many islands, moveable boundary, and submerged dyke, therefore, σ 3-D numerical model oil an unstructured triangular grid has been degeloped. The σ coordinate transforination, the moveable boundary and submerged dyke treatment techniques were employed in the model so it is suitable for the tidal simulations in the Oujing Estuary with submerged dyke and moveable boundary problems. The model is evaluated with the in situ data, and the results show that the calculated water elevations at 19 stations and currents at 19 profiler stations are in good agreement with measured data both in magnitude and phase. This numerical model is applied to the 3-D tidal circulation simulations of experiments in stopping flow transport through the South Branch of the Oujiang Estuary, and the feasibility to cutoff the flow in the South Branch of the Oujiang Estuary is demonstrated by numerical simulation experiments. The developed numerical model simulated the 3-D tidal current circulations in complicated coastal and estuarine waters very well. 展开更多

Space and time are treated as independent quantities and can be discussed sepa-rately. With his theory of relativity, Einstein proved that space and time are de-pendent and must be treated inseparably. Minkowski adopted a four-dimensional space-time frame and indirectly revealed the dependency of space and time by adding a constraint for an event interval. Since space and time are inseparable, a three-dimensional space-time frame can be constructed by embedding time into space to directly show the interdependency of space and time. The formula for time dilation, length contraction, and the Lorenz transformation can be derived from graphs utilizing this new frame. The proposed three-dimensional space-time frame is an alternate frame that can be used to describe motions of objects, and it may improve teaching and learning Special Relativity and provide additional insights into space and time. 展开更多

Presently, most of the data reconstruction methods are carried out separately from noise suppression. Moreover, most data reconstruction methods are not ideal for noisy data. In this paper, we choose the multiscale and multidirectional 2D curvelet transform to perform simultaneous data reconstruction and noise suppression of 3D seismic data. We introduce the POCS algorithm, the exponentially decreasing square root threshold, and soft threshold operator to interpolate the data at each time slice. A weighing strategy was introduced to reduce the reconstructed data noise. A 3D simultaneous data reconstruction and noise suppression method based on the curvelet transform was proposed. When compared with data reconstruction followed by denoizing and the Fourier transform, the proposed method is more robust and effective. The proposed method has important implications for data acquisition in complex areas and reconstructing missing traces. 展开更多

Generic and flexible self-correction method for nonlinearity-induced phase error in three-dimensional imaging

In three-dimensional imaging employing phase-shifting profilometry(PSP), the nonlinear response of projector and camera makes the fringe gray distribution non-sinusoidal, which further leads to phase error. Although the double 3-step phaseshifting method is simple and effective, it needs to add an additional set of fringe sequences, which reduces the measurement efficiency. To this end, this paper introduces a generic and flexible self-correction method for nonlinearity-induced phase error.First, according to the nonlinearity-induced phase error model, we introduce an additional wrapped phase with a phase difference of π/3. The error waveform of the two wrapped phases is opposite but not coincident. Then, we introduce an estimation algorithm for the additional wrapped phase offset. Finally, we fuse the two wrapped phases to correct the phase error. Experiments confirm that the root mean squared error of the proposed method is 64.1% lower than that of the traditional method and 13.3% lower than that of the Hilbert transform method. The proposed method does not require any additional fringes or hardware assistance and can be easily extended to 4-step or 5-step PSP. 展开更多

A novel three-dimensional beam propagation method (BPM) based on the variable transformed Galerkin's method is introduced for simulating optical field propagation in three-dimensional dielectric structures. The infinite Cartesian x-y plane is mapped into a unit square by a tangent-type function transformation. Consequently, the infinite region problem is converted into the finite region problem. Thus, the boundary truncation is eliminated and the calculation accuracy is promoted. The three-dimensional BPM basic equation is reduced to a set of first-order ordinary differential equations through sinusoidal basis function, which fits arbitrary cladding optical waveguide, then direct solution of the resulting equations by means of the Runge-Kutta method. In addition, the calculation is efficient due to the small matrix derived from the present technique. Both z-invariant and z-variant examples are considered to test both the accuracy and utility of this approach. 展开更多

Multispectral image compression and encryption method based on tensor decomposition in wavelet domain

Multispectral image compression and encryption algorithms commonly suffer from issues such as low compression efficiency,lack of synchronization between the compression and encryption proces-ses,and degradation of intrinsic image structure.A novel approach is proposed to address these is-sues.Firstly,a chaotic sequence is generated using the Lorenz three-dimensional chaotic mapping to initiate the encryption process,which is XORed with each spectral band of the multispectral image to complete the initial encryption of the image.Then,a two-dimensional lifting 9/7 wavelet transform is applied to the processed image.Next,a key-sensitive Arnold scrambling technique is employed on the resulting low-frequency image.It effectively eliminates spatial redundancy in the multispectral image while enhancing the encryption process.To optimize the compression and encryption processes further,fast Tucker decomposition is applied to the wavelet sub-band tensor.It effectively removes both spectral redundancy and residual spatial redundancy in the multispectral image.Finally,the core tensor and pattern matrix obtained from the decomposition are subjected to entropy encoding,and real-time chaotic encryption is implemented during the encoding process,effectively integrating compression and encryption.The results show that the proposed algorithm is suitable for occasions with high requirements for compression and encryption,and it provides valuable insights for the de-velopment of compression and encryption in multispectral field. 展开更多

A multigrid-assisted solver tbr the three-dimensional time-dependent incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on graded Cartesian meshes is developed. The spatial accuracy is third-order for the convective terms and fourth-order for the viscous terms, and a fractional-step strategy ensures second-order time accuracy. To achieve good time-wise efficiency a multigrid technique is used to solve the highly time-consuming pressure-Poisson equation that requires to be solved at every time step. The speed-up achieved by multigrid is shown in tabular form. The performance and accuracy of the code are first ascertained by computing the flow in a single-sided lid-driven cubic cavity with good grid-economy and comparing the results available in the literature. The code, thus validated, is then applied to a new test problem we propose and various transient and asymptotically obtained steady-state results are presented. Given the care taken to establish the credibility of the code and the good spatio-temporal accuracy of the discretization, these results are accurate and may be used for ascertaining the performance of any computational algorithm applied to this test problem. 展开更多

We address the registration problem of multisource three-dimensional(3D)human-made buildings with remote sensing images and the earth’s surface in the context of virtual globes.Challenges include fast transformation of 3D coordinates with different reference systems as well as the efficient use of original model information for rigorous and accurate model registration.This paper introduces a novel fast and scalable registration approach that can establish correspondences between heterogeneous external 3D city models and images/terrain surfaces of virtual globes in an efficient and accurate manner.The approach utilizes the projected 3D feature information of 3D city models to develop robust coordinate transformation and reliable model registration methods.The proposed approach builds a solid foundation for the fusion of multisource geospatial data in a united virtual globe reference framework.We report experimental results of online registration tasks for up to over 13K buildings in an integrated 3D virtual globe platform,namely,GeoGlobe. 展开更多

Aluminum flocculant can enhance the flocculating performance of activated sludge.However,the binding mechanism of aluminum ion(Al 3+) and extracellular polymeric substances(EPS) in activated sludge is unclear due to the complexity of EPS.In this work,threedimensional excitation emission matrix fluorescence spectroscopy(3DEEM),fluorescence quenching titration and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) were used to explore the binding behavior and mechanism between Al 3+ and EPS.The results showed that two fluorescence peaks of tyrosineand tryptophan-like substances were identified in the loosely bound-extracellular polymeric substances(LB-EPS),and three peaks of tyrosine-,tryptophanand humic-like substances were identified in the tightly boundextracellular polymeric substances(TB-EPS).It was found that these fluorescence peaks could be quenched with Al 3+ at the dosage of 3.0 mg/L,which demonstrated that strong interactions took place between the EPS and Al 3+.The conditional stability constants for Al 3+ and EPS were determined by the Stern-Volmer equation.As to the binding mechanism,the-OH,N-H,C=O,C-N groups and the sulfurand phosphorus-containing groups showed complexation action,although the groups in the LB-EPS and TB-EPS showed different behavior.The TB-EPS have stronger binding ability to Al 3+ than the LB-EPS,and TB-EPS play an important role in the interaction with Al 3+. 展开更多

Based on this new hierarchical shape representation, the proposedframework offers concise integration of various volumetric- and surface-based modeling techniques,such as Boolean operation, offset, blending, free-form defor-mation, parameterization and texturemapping, and thus simplifies the complete modeling process. Previously to achieve the same goal,several separated algorithms had to be used independently with inconsistent volumetric and surfacerepresentations of the free-form object. Quaternion algebra has been used to apply the fractional Fourier transform(FrFT)to color images in a comprehensive approach.However,the discrete fractional random transform(DFRNT)with adequate basic randomness remains to be examined.This paper presents a novel multistage privacy system for color medical images based on discrete quaternion fractional Fourier transform(DQFrFT)watermarking and three-dimensional chaotic logistic map(3D-CLM)encryption.First,we describe quaternion DFRNT(QDFRNT),which generalizes DFRNT to handle quaternion signals effectively,and then use QDFRNT to perform color medical image adaptive watermarking.To efficiently evaluate QDFRNT,this study derives the relationship between the QDFRNT of a quaternion signal and the four components of the DFRNT signal.Moreover,it uses the human vision system's(HVS)masking qualities of edge,texture,and color tone immediately from the color host image to adaptively modify the watermark strength for each block in the color medical image using the QDFRNT-based adaptive watermarking and support vector machine(SVM)techniques.The limitations of watermark embedding are also explained to conserve watermarking energy.Second,3D-CLM encryption is employed to improve the system's security and efficiency,allowing it to be used as a multistage privacy system.The proposed security system is effective against many types of channel noise attacks,according to simulation results. 展开更多
