选区激光熔化(SLM)成形大尺寸复杂构件厚度多样、成形高度较高、方向复杂,需要研究构件微观组织均匀性和力学性能稳定性。本文以SLM成形TiB_(2)/Al-Si-Mg复合材料为研究对象,分析复合材料多级微观组织,对比不同成形厚度、高度、方向下... 选区激光熔化(SLM)成形大尺寸复杂构件厚度多样、成形高度较高、方向复杂,需要研究构件微观组织均匀性和力学性能稳定性。本文以SLM成形TiB_(2)/Al-Si-Mg复合材料为研究对象,分析复合材料多级微观组织,对比不同成形厚度、高度、方向下复合材料的力学性能。结果表明:复合材料表现出熔池特征结构,细小等轴晶粒组织均匀分布且随机取向,纳米TiB_(2)颗粒在材料内部弥散分布。随成形厚度增加,复合材料伸长率保持稳定,抗拉强度受本征热处理影响略微增大;在不同成形高度下,复合材料抗拉强度和伸长率保持稳定;在不同成形方向下,复合材料抗拉强度保持稳定,伸长率受熔池结构影响在水平方向略高。基于以上结果,成功制备大飞机舱门铰链臂(588 mm×318 mm×470 mm)复杂结构件。 展开更多

原位合成Al_(2)O_(3)/TiB_(2)颗粒混杂增强铝基复合材料的性能研究

针对传统铝合金无法满足工业和民用中对高强高导铝合金需求的问题,开发一种提升铝合金表面硬度且保证其导电导热性能的新型铝基复合材料。通过机械合金化法制备了Al-TiO_(2)-B混合粉末,采用放热弥散结合接触反应技术成功原位合成Al_(2)O... 针对传统铝合金无法满足工业和民用中对高强高导铝合金需求的问题,开发一种提升铝合金表面硬度且保证其导电导热性能的新型铝基复合材料。通过机械合金化法制备了Al-TiO_(2)-B混合粉末,采用放热弥散结合接触反应技术成功原位合成Al_(2)O_(3)/TiB_(2)颗粒混杂增强铝基复合材料,探究了原始粉末Al-TiO_(2)-B体系反应生成Al_(2)O_(3)/TiB_(2)颗粒混杂增强铝基复合材料的反应机理及反应温度对原位反应的影响,分析了铝基复合材料的微观组织形貌以及表面显微硬度和导电导热性能。XRD分析结果表明,反应温度达到1100℃保温200 min后,原始粉末Al-TiO_(2)-B体系中的TiO_(2)和B粉末完全反应,并且在反应过程中B粉抑制了中间产物Al3Ti和AlB2的生成,最终原位生成为Al_(2)O_(3)和TiB_(2)颗粒混杂增强的铝基复合材料。显微组织观察表明,在铝基体中原位生成了TiB_(2)颗粒(直径小于1μm)和Al_(2)O_(3)颗粒(粒径约为2μm),且铝基复合材料表面组织均匀致密。原位合成Al_(2)O_(3)/TiB_(2)混杂颗粒增强铝基复合材料的电导率为46.1%IACS,热导率约为198.5 W·m-1·K-1,显微硬度较传统A356铝合金的68 HV提升至76 HV,新型原位合成铝基复合材料在保证导电导热性能的前提下提升了铝基复合材料的显微硬度。 展开更多

Development and Characterization of Aluminium-Based Metal Matrix Composites

Aluminum based metal matrix composites were fabricated using stir casting where silicon carbide and alumina were the reinforcements. Different types of properties (physical-density, mechanical-tensile, hardness, chemical-corrosion etc.) were measured and compared with base metals/alloys. The properties were significantly varied. The highest density was obtained for pure aluminium with 5% Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> whereas the lowest was obtained for AA-4032 alloy. The highest hardness was obtained for AA-4032 with 5% Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> whereas the lowest was obtained for pure Al with 5% Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>. The highest strength was obtained for AA-6061 with 5% coarse SiC whereas the lowest was obtained for pure Al. The highest impact strength was obtained for AA-4032 with 5% Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> whereas the lowest was obtained for AA-6061. The corrosion resistance of all composites was lower than that of the base materials. 展开更多

Aluminum matrix composites reinforced by in situ Al2O3 and Al3Zr particles are fabricated from A356-Zr(CO3)2 system via magnetochemistry reaction,and the morphologies,sizes and distributions of the in situ particles as well as the microstructures,mechanical mechanisms of the composites are investigated by XRD,SEM,TEM and in situ tensile tests.The results indicate that with the pulsed magnetic field assistance,the morphologies of the in situ particles are mainly with ball-shape,the sizes are in nanometer scale and the distributions in the matrix are uniform.The interfaces between the in situ particles and the aluminum matrix are net and no interfacial outgrowth is observed.These are due to the strong vibration induced by the applied magnetic field in the aluminum melt,which in turn,accelerates the melt reactions.The effects of the magnetic field on the above contributions are discussed in detail. 展开更多

The nano-Al2O3 particle and micro-Al2O3 particle uniformly dispersed in Al matrix composites. The introduction of nanoparticles is beneficial to the decrease of friction coefficient and wear rate, while microparticles are responsible to the high friction coefficient, resulting in the abrasive wear. 采用Gleeble-3500热模拟试验机在变形温度为25~400℃、应变速率为0.01~10s^(-1)和真应变为0.85的条件下,对1060Al/Al-Al_(2)O_(3)/1060Al层状铝基复合材料进行了热压缩试验,研究其热变形行为,建立了应变补偿的Arrhenius (SCA)、修正的Jo... 采用Gleeble-3500热模拟试验机在变形温度为25~400℃、应变速率为0.01~10s^(-1)和真应变为0.85的条件下,对1060Al/Al-Al_(2)O_(3)/1060Al层状铝基复合材料进行了热压缩试验,研究其热变形行为,建立了应变补偿的Arrhenius (SCA)、修正的Johnson-Cook (MJC)和修正的Zerilli-Armstrong (MZA) 3种本构模型,并对流变应力的预测值与实验值进行对比。结果表明,层状复合材料流变应力呈加工硬化型,并随温度升高或应变速率降低而降低;在100℃/0.5s^(-1)、200℃/0.1s^(-1)和300℃/0.1s^(-1)条件下,层状复合材料组元层间变形较为协调;3种本构模型中,MZA模型的相关系数最高,R为0.99085、平均绝对相对误差最低,e_(AARE)为0.046966,更适合描述1060Al/Al-Al_(2)O_(3)/1060Al层状铝基复合材料的热变形行为。 展开更多

Ni-50at.%A1 matrix composites containing 0 to 20v.% TiB2 particles have been successfully fabricated by HPES technique. The results show that the Vickers hardness at room temperature and the compressive yield strength from room temperature to 1000℃ of the composites increase with increasing volume fraction of the strengthening phase. Especially, the yield strength of NiAl-20TiB2 was approximately twice as high as that of unreinforced NiAl. The ductility of the composites at room temperature is also superior to the monolithic NiAl. 展开更多

A proper control of oxygen content at the Al2O3-Ni interfacecan promote wetting at the intedece, and produce a mechanically interlocked and chemically strengthened intedece, causing most of the nickel particles to be stretched to failure and to expe-rience severe plastic deformation during crack propagation in the composite. Fracture toughnesstesting using a modified double cantilever beam method with in situ observation of crack prop-agation in a scanning electron microscope shows that the composite with the strengthenedinterface has a more desirable R-curve behaviour and a higher fracture toughness value than thenormal composite. 展开更多

超声滚压数值仿真研究亟待丰富和深入开展。采用温度-应变率相关Johnson-Cook本构模型描述纳米TiB_(2)/7075铝基复合材料塑性变形行为,通过Gleeble热压缩模拟实验结合最小二乘拟合标定相关本构参数。利用有限元软件ABAQUS构建3D全六面... 超声滚压数值仿真研究亟待丰富和深入开展。采用温度-应变率相关Johnson-Cook本构模型描述纳米TiB_(2)/7075铝基复合材料塑性变形行为,通过Gleeble热压缩模拟实验结合最小二乘拟合标定相关本构参数。利用有限元软件ABAQUS构建3D全六面体渐变网格模型,通过6个步骤对复合材料超声滚压强化过程进行了数值仿真研究。结果表明,残余应力分布的仿真结果与实测结果存在明显差异,但网格失效形式较好地反映了表层材料的开裂和分层,从模拟角度验证了往复超声滚压过程中过度塑性变形导致材料表面损伤的现象。该结果对金属基复合材料超声滚压工艺的探索和相关数值仿真研究的深入开展具有重要指导意义。 展开更多

TiB_(2)颗粒对铝合金有良好的强化作用。通过超声辅助重熔稀释法制备TiB_(2)/6061复合材料,研究了TiB_(2)颗粒对铸态及挤压T6热处理态6061铝合金的微观组织及力学性能的影响。研究结果表明:添加2wt%TiB2颗粒后,铸态平均晶粒尺寸从未添加TiB_(2)的355.7μm细化至117.5μm;TiB_(2)颗粒可以促进再结晶过程中的形核,并抑制晶粒长大;挤压热处理态TiB_(2)/6061复合材料的屈服强度为330 MPa、抗拉强度为385 MPa,相比未添加TiB_(2)的合金分别提高了11.8%和7.0%,其主要强化方式为热错配强化和Orowan强化。 展开更多

To improve the mechanical properties of alumina particulates reinforced steel matrix composite, Ti powder was added into the alumina preform, a 5140 steel matrix composite was fabricated by squeeze casting, and the influences of Ti powder on the microstructure, hardness and bending strength of the composite were investigated, compared with the composite without adding Ti powder. Applied Ti powder and alumina particulates were 10-25 μm and 100-180 μm in size, respectively. Both composites were successfully fabricated, however Ti powder addition increased the infiltration thickness of the composite. In the Ti contained composite, a TiC film in micron scale is formed on the surface of alumina particles, many TiC aggregates are dispersed in the steel matrix without obvious remaining Ti powder. The hardness and the three-point bending strength of the composite reach 49.5 HRC and 1 018 MPa, respectively, which are 17.9% and 52.4% higher than those of the composite in the absence of Ti addition. Fracture morphology shows that the debonding of alumina particulates is eliminated for the composite in the presence of Ti addition. Sessile drop test shows the average wetting angle between 5140 steel and that of Ti coated Al2O3 is about 82.15°, much lower than the wetting angle 150° between steel and pure Al2O3. Therefore, the increase in the mechanical properties of the composite is attributed to the improvement of Al2O3 p/steel interface wetting and bonding by adding Ti powder in the preform. 展开更多

Nano-AlN and submicron-Al_(2)O_(3) particles were simultaneously utilized in a 6061 Al matrix composite to improve the high-temperature strength.According to the SEM and TEM characterization,nano-AlN and submicron-Al_(2)O_(3) particles are uniformly distributed in the Al matrix.Brinell hardness results indicate that different from the traditional 6061 Al matrix alloy,the aging kinetics of the composite is obviously accelerated by the reinforcement particles.The T6-treated composite exhibits excellent tensile properties at both room temperature and elevated temperature.Especially at 350℃,the T6-treated composite not only has a high yield strength of 121 MPa and ultimate tensile strength of 128 MPa,but also exhibits a large elongation of 11.6%.Different strengthening mechanisms of nano-AlN and submicron-Al_(2)O_(3) particles were also discussed in detail. 展开更多

The bonding of β″-Al2O3 and pyrex glass to A1 matrix composites by anodic bonding process is achieved. The microstructure of the bonded interface and the joining mechanisms are analyzed with scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (EDX). It is observed that the bonding region across the interface consists of the metal layer, oxide transitional layer and the ceramic layer, with the transitional layer composed of surface region and sub-surface region. The bonding process can mainly be categorized into anodic bonding process and solid state diffusing process. The pile-up of the ions and its drift in the interface area are the main reasons for anode oxidation and joining of the interface. The temperature, voltage and the drift ions in the ceramic or glass during the bonding process are the essential conditions to solid state diffusing and oxide bonding at the interface. The voltages, temperature, pressure as well as the surface state are the main factors that influence the anodic bonding. 展开更多

Obtaining an appropriate grain size is crucial for Al alloys or Al matrix composites prior to processing,as it significantly influences the mechanical properties of components and workability during the manufacturing process.TiB_(2)particles are exceptional grain refiners in Al and serve as excellent reinforcement particles for particulate-reinforced aluminum matrix composites.However,the optimal particle content for achieving excellent refinement and strengthening effects depends on the matrix composition and requires further investigation.Additionally,homogenization is essential for mitigating the element segregation in the ingot.Although it is anticipated that adding suitable particles can effectively inhibit undesired grain growth during homogenization,comprehensive investigations on this aspect are currently lacking.Therefore,TiB_(2)/2219Al matrix composites with varying reinforcement contents(0,1,3,5 wt%)were fabricated through traditional casting followed by homogenization treatment to address these research gaps.The effects of reinforcement content and homogenization treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of in-situ TiB_(2)/2219Al composites were investigated.The results demonstrate a gradual strengthening of the refining effect with increasing particle concentration.Moreover,composites containing 3 wt%TiB_(2)particles exhibit superior comprehensive mechanical properties in both as-cast and homogenized state.Additionally,potential orientation relationships are observed and calculated between undissolved Al_(2)Cu eutectic phase and submicron or nanometer-sized TiB_(2)particles,resulting in a mixture structure with enhanced bonding strength.This mixture structure is continuously distributed along grain boundaries during solidification,forming a three-dimensional cellular network that acts as primary retarding forces for grain growth during homogenization.Furthermore,the established homogenization kinetic equations were further utilized to analyze the correlation between homogenization time and grain size,as well as the influence of homogenization temperature. 展开更多
