The in-situ composites consist of γ+α2 lamellar colonies, equiaxed y grains and Ti2AlN reinforcements. Matrix with nearly fully lamellar structure formed after solution and subsequently aging treatment. With the increase of Ti2AlN content, the nearly fully lamellar structure becomes instable for the aged composites. According to TEM study, fine Ti2AlN precipitates are found to distribute at the grain boundaries of lamellar colony. Needle-like Ti3AlN precipitates arrange in line with growing axis parallel to [001] direction of the γ-TiAl matrix and another needle-like Ti3AlN precipitates with lager size distribute at the dislocations. Although the commonly used reinforcements in MMCs are ceramic particles, they often provide improved yield and ultimate stresses by a significant loss in ductility. Therefore, hard metallic phases were introduced as alternative candidates for the manufacturing of MMCs, especially titanium(Ti). It has a high melting point, high Young’s modulus, high plasticity, low level of mutual solubility with Mg matrix, and closer thermal expansion coefficient to that of Mg metal than that of ceramic particles. It is highly preferable to provide both high ultimate stress and ductility in Mg matrix. However, many critical challenges for the fabrication of Ti-reinforced MMCs remain, such as Ti’s homogeneity, low recovery rate, and the optimization of interfacial bonding strength between Mg and Ti, etc. Meanwhile, different fabrication methods have various effects on the microstructures, mechanical properties, and the interfacial strength of Ti-reinforced MMCs. Hence, this review placed emphasis on the microstructural characteristics and mechanical properties of Ti-reinforced MMCs fabricated by different techniques. The influencing factors that govern the strengthening mechanisms were systematically compared and discussed. Future research trends, key issues, and prospects were also proposed to develop Ti-reinforced MMCs.展开更多

The morphology of Al3Ti changes apparently from the fine particle, needle-like to large block with the increase of Al3Ti content. The addition of magnesium can markedly change the morphology of Al3Ti and reduce their size. Short rod-like Al3Ti was formed and homogeneous distribution was obtained with the addition of 3 wt.% Mg. The effects of the addition of 4.5wt.% and 9wt.%Ti B2 on the apparent viscosity and microstructure were investigated. The results showed that adding Ti B2 is effective for optimizing primary α-Al, but compared with the 4.5wt.%Ti B2/7075 composite, the addition of 9wt.%Ti B2 had no further significant refinement role in the 9wt.%Ti B2/7075 composite due to particle aggregation. The viscosities of semi-solid 7075 alloy and Ti B2/7075 composite slurries increased with an increase in solid fraction, but decreased with an increase in shear rate. The viscosity of 4.5wt.% Ti B2/7075 was the lowest among the three samples, and that of 7075 alloy was the highest under the same conditions. The primary α-Al grain size was decreased, and the dendritic grains grew into spherical shapes after shearing. Based on the experimental results, viscosity models of the semi-solid 7075 alloy and 4.5wt.% and 9wt.%Ti B2/7075 composites were formulated. According to the simulation results, the shrinkage porosity of the 4.5wt.%Ti B2/7075 wheel was lower than those of the 7075 alloy and 9wt.%Ti B2/7075 wheels.展开更多

The results have shown that TiC particles are of two different morphologies f coarse dendritical primary TiC and short bar-shape eutectic TiC. Al content has great effects on the morphology of TiC. With the increasing of Al content, the morphology of primary TiC changes from coarse developed dendrite into short bar-shape or plate--shape TiC with 35%Al. Meanwhile, the structure of the matrix changes from single Ti to Ti and Ti3Al, and to Ti3Al and TiAl. However, the C content has no influence on the microstructure of matrix. When the C content is less than 1.2%, the dendrite TiC disappears and only short bar-shape or plate-shape TiC exists in the composites. In addition, the effect of he3t treatment on the morphology of TiC has also Studied.展开更多

The phase composition, microstructure and hardness of the TiC/Ti-6Al-4V composites were investigated by XRD,SEM and hardness testing equipment, respectively. The results show that the reinforcements are distributed uniformly in the matrix alloy. With the carbon content of the composites increasing from 0.15% to2.0%,the morphology of TiC transforms from particle into short-bar shape or chain-type consisting of featheriness or wheat-shape and finally into dendritic. Simultaneously, the hardness of the composites increases. The formation mechanisms of TiC can be analyzed as follows:the growth of dendritic primary TiC before the peritectic reaction is dominated by the solute concentration gradient, after peritectic reaction, the nucleation and growth of TiC in β-Ti leads to its forming of short-bar shape. The dendritic TiC mainly is distributed in the matrix grain, but the short-bar shape TiC mainly segregates at the grain boundary, especially at the triangular grain boundaries.展开更多

When the content of Ti2AlC increased from 10% to 70%, the relative density reduced from 99.38% to 90.56% and the resistivity increased significantly. Hardness reached the maximum value when Ti2AlC was at 60% and friction coefficient declined with the increasing of Ti2AlC. Cu/Ti2AlC composites, showing good conductivity properties and friction performance. Oxidation resistance enhanced obviously with the content of Ti2AlC increasing. Cu-60%Ti2AlC sample possessed optimum thermal shock resistance, and no cracking was found at 600 ℃ cycled for 10 times and 900 ℃ cycled for 1 time.

文摘MXenes have attracted increasing research enthusiasm owing to their unique physical and chemical properties.Although MXenes exhibit exciting potential in cations adsorption due to their unique surface groups, the adsorption capacity is limited by the low specific surface area and undeveloped porosity. Our work aims at enhancing the adsorption performance of a well-known MXene,Ti3C2Tx,for methylene blue(MB)by decorating tiny ZIF-8 nanoparticles in the interlayer. After the incorporation of ZIF-8,suitable interspace in the layers resulting from the distribution of tiny ZIF-8 appears. When employing in MB,the adsorption capacity of composites can reach up to 107 mg·g^(-1) while both ZIF-8(3 mg·g^(-1))and Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx(9mg·g^(-1))show nearly no adsorption capacity. The adsorption mechanism was explored, and the good adsorption capacity is caused by the synergistic effect of ZIF-8 and Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx,for neither of them is of suitable interspace or surface groups for MB adsorption. Our work might pave the way for constructing functional materials based on the introduction of nanoparticles into layered materials for various adsorption applications.

文摘In situ Al2O3 whiskers reinforced Ti-Al intermetallic composites were fabricated at ~1200℃ by reaction sintering of cold-consolidated fillets consisting mainly of Ti, Al, and different additives. The phases and microstructures of the sintered composites were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The process of synthesis was investigated using differential thermal analysis (DTA). The effects of processing parameters and additives on the microstructures of the composites and the development of whisker were examined. It is found that the morphology of the whisker is strongly influenced by the additives, the exothermal reaction process, and the processing parameters.
文摘TiC reinforced titanium composites has been produced with different Al content and C content by XDTM. In addition, the effect of he3t treatment on the morphology of TiC has also Studied.
文摘B Ti C composites toughened by TiB 2 particles were produced by reaction sintering of B 4C, TiC and TiB 2 powders. Microstructure and mechanical properties of the composites were studied. A notable improvement on flexure strength and fracture toughness were achieved in B 4C composites containing 10%TiB 2 and 20%30%TiC(volume fraction). The highest flexure strength and fracture toughness, 425 MPa and 8.2 MPa·m 1/2 , respectively, resulted for B 4C 10%TiB 2 30%TiC composite, are much higher than those for monolithic B 4C. The main toughening mechanism is microcrack toughening and crack deflection toughening.

文摘TiC reinforced Ti-6Al-4V matrix composites were fabricated by consumable arc-melting technology utilizing the reaction between titanium and graphite. The dendritic TiC mainly is distributed in the matrix grain, but the short-bar shape TiC mainly segregates at the grain boundary, especially at the triangular grain boundaries.

Bending strength of the composites can be increased by 26%, to 709 MPa, and bending deflection increased slightly compared with the Ti/Ti Al composites reinforced by Ti fibers coated with Y 2O 3.
文摘SiCf/Ti-6Al-4V composites were fabricated by the powder-coated fiber method. The precursor fiber was prepared under the optimized parameter, and the composites were made using the vacuum hot pressure method. The influence of heat exposure time on products of thelinterfacial reaction was investigated using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and analytical transmission electron microscope (TEM) with energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The main products are TiC and Ti5Si3 after vacuum exposing the samples at 700℃ for 50 h. The growth dynamics of interracial reaction products was analyzed quantitatively, which fitted the parabola rule. The activity energy of the reaction was 252 kJ·mol^-1.
文摘TiAl/Ti2AlC composites were prepared by in-situ hot pressing of TilAl/C powders mixtures and sintered at different temperatures were investigated by X- ray diffraction ( XRD ) of samples. The reaction procedure of Ti-Al-C system could be divided into three stnges. Below 900℃ , Ti reacts with Al to form TiAl intermetallics ; above 900 ℃ , C reacts with remain Ti to form TiC triggered by the exothermal reaction of Ti and Al ; TiAl reacts with TiC to produce dense TiAl/Ti2AlC compasites. In the holding stage, ternary Ti2AlC develops to layered polycrystal and composites pyknosis in the meanwhile. The mechanism of synthesis and microstructure was especially discussed.
