Lawrence's"Tickets, Please"displays a wartime love story between Coddy and Annie. In their love affairs, Coddy, the man of impotence deems his freedom much as before while Annie switches back to the traditional female role to consider marriage as the ultimate goal. In"Tickets, Please", the incidental effects of progress on humanity are shown through the Lawrentian central theme of the relationship between men and women. Here, the weaker sex and the stronger sex are respectively and ironically embodied by Annie Stone and John Thomas Raynor. This paper analyzes the wartime setting, the tram girls and the love struggle between Annie and Coddy. Through these analyses, the paper reveals the awakening of feminist consciousness in the story.展开更多

Results show that inherent drawbacks of land ticket system and wrong guidance of policies lead to suspicion of land ticket system occupying rural resources. Interregional exploitation and intergenerational exploitation are inherent mechanism of city exploiting countryside. Finally,it proposes increasing construction land index to satisfy demand of new socialist countryside construction primarily,to ensure rural social stability; Later, use land ticket index to fill the gap of construction land in economically developed areas,so as to alleviate conflict of urban land use and maximize circulation value of rural construction land. It is expected to provide theoretical reference for relevant departments to regulate land ticket transaction system and realize the harmonious development, between urban and rural areas.展开更多

This data can be beneficial to transit planners, from regular operation of the transit system down to the long-term strategic planning of the network. This paper covers several aspects of open payment cards in the transit planning context. First, the methods of payments are presented: cash, debit/credit cards, proprietary cards, and mobile payments. Then the several cases where open payments on transit are beneficial. Also reported are open card payment research conducted around the globe. Finally, the most promising online survey is performed to measure the perspective of the rider on using account-based ticketing versus the traditionally closed loop scheme. Mobility and payments are foundations pillars for developing communities and advancing economy [1].展开更多

The motion objects passing through the ticket gate could be described as a series of moving sequences got by sensors that located in the walkway side of the ticket gate. This paper presents a robust method to detect some classes of events of ticket gate in the urban rapid rail transit. Diffused reflectance infrared sensors are used to collect signals. In this paper, the motion objects are here referred to passenger(s) or (and) luggage(s), for which are of frequent occurrences in the ticket gate of the urban railway traffic. Specifically, this paper makes two main contributions: 1) The proposed recognition method could be used to identify several events, including the event of one person passing through the ticket gate, the event of two consecutive passengers passing through the ticket gate without a big gap between them, and the event of a passenger walking through the ticket gate pulling a suitcase;2) The moving time sequence matrix is transformed into a one-dimensional vector as the feature descriptor. Deep learning (DL), back propagation neural network (BP), and support vector machine (SVM) are applied to recognize the events respectively. BP has been proved to have a higher recognition rate compared to other methods. In order to implement the three algorithms, a data set is built which includes 150 samples of all kinds of events from the practical tests. Experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.展开更多

However, the annual spring transportation in the special period is still a great challenge to high-speed railway transportation, and this paper analyzes the high-speed railway ticket for spring transportation from the perspective of microeconomics, and then thinks for the solution. This paper specifically analyzes the problem that demand exceeds supply for high-speed railway ticket by using the theories of the demand elasticity of supply and demand and the influence of price on supply and demand, monopoly markets. In addition, opportunity cost, incomplete information and other economic principles are used to think about the theoretical reasons for the difficulty of buying tickets during the spring transportation. I have given my understanding for the two problems owned by China spring transportation, and the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. For example, speed up the development of substitutes and carry out the mechanism of price fluctuation; In the ticket refunding mechanism, this paper boldly conceives the method to relieve the pressure through a reasonable and scientific ticket refunding mechanism. Finally, this paper starts from the source and find the key point to solve the problem of spring transportation in China by breaking the urban-rural dual structure. Hereafter the final conclusion was drawn: Although there are some problems to cope with the spring transport for the current China high-speed railway, it is believed that in the near future, the difficulty of buying a ticket in spring transportation will no longer hinder the homecoming of wanderers.展开更多

The limited national and local finances starve the public transport networks of funding, although greater usage would imply important environmental and financial benefits. The recent advances in mobile technologies and services could be harnessed to increase the attractiveness and efficiency of various public transport systems. Increasingly flexible electronic ticketing, smart cards and real-time information feeds via smartphones are making transportation networks faster, cheaper and more efficient for both the passengers and operators. In this paper, we present our approach in designing and implementing an M-ticketing system for urban transport based on NFC technology. We make initial design decisions based on a study of two similar systems Oyster and U-Go. We make use of Microsoft technologies for the prototype implementation and we propose a test suite to validate the system. We conclude on presenting the experience gained from this project and propose a set of further developments in order for the prototype to become more realistic.展开更多

This study investigated E-ticketing adoption in the bus transport sector in the Kumasi Metropolis of Ghana. The study applied the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and the Structural Equation Modelling technique was used to analyse the factors affecting the intention to use the E-ticketing system. In that regard, the study was based on perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norms, and demographic variables. Quantitative research approaches were used by distributing questionnaires to 392 passengers, employing the cluster and random sampling techniques. Findings from the study showed that perceived usefulness and subjective norm were the significant factors affecting passengers’ intention to adopt the E-ticketing system. Besides, perceived ease of use and subjective norms were significant in predicting passengers’ perceived usefulness of adopting E-ticketing system. The findings of this research will provide the government, industrial players, and the entire public a better understanding of the perceived factors that could enhance or serve as a barrier to passengers’ adoption of the E-ticketing system. This can also lead to the development of effective E-ticketing marketing strategies.</span> </div>展开更多
