Typically two geomagnetic models, DIPOLE model and Inter- national Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) model, are used for calculating HOI corrections. This paper investigates the effects of HOI correction caused by the DIPOLE model on coordinate time series. GPS data from 104 globally distributed International GNSS Service (IGS) stations spanning from January, 1999 to December, 2003 were reprocessed following up-to-date processing strategies utilizing GAMIT and GLOBK software. Two coordinate time series solutions before and after applying HOI corrections using the DIPOLE model were derived for studying the effects in terms of seasonal variations and noise amplitudes. The results show that after applying the HOI corrections calculated with DIPOLE, the noise amplitudes of the coordinate time series increased, especially in the north and east directions, and the increased amplitudes of the flicker noise were larger than those of the white noise. Furthermore, spurious periodic signals that were probably introduced by the HOI corrections from the DIPOLE model were also found. Moreover, an apparent increase was confirmed for the power spectra of most of the stations, especially in the north direction, and the amplitudes of both the annual and semi-annual signals also increased in the north and east directions. It can be inferred that the quality of the external data sources such as the geomagnetic model might be the key factors that lead to the above results. The results also suggest that we should be very careful when the DIPOLE model is used for HOI corrections.展开更多

In the stack procedure, the crucial operation is time correction. Conventional methods, e.g. , normal moveout (NMO) and dip moveout (DMO) stacks require a sufficiently accurate macro-velocity model, whereas a multifocusing imaging method does not depend on a macro-velocity model. The multifocusing method proposed by Gelchinsky et al. belongs to a group of methods that can be characterized as macro-model-independent imaging methods. The multifocusing method represents a transformation of 2-D multicoverage reflection data into a simulated zero-offset stack profile. This transformation is based on a completely data-derived spatial stacking operator, and includes stacking large supergathers of seismic traces, each of which can span many CMP gathers. By extending the multifocusing moveout formula to explicitly account for non-zero elevations of the source and receiver, the multifocusing imaging method can yield appropriate results when seismic data are acquired over an irregular topography. In recent years, many applications of multifocusing imaging over an irregular topography have demonstrated its advantages in comparison with conventional CMP processing. This paper illustrates the corresponding formulas for a synthetic data example modeled by the wave equation finite difference method. The result of the synthetic example is very encouraging. By stacking large supergathers and applying multifocusing moveout correction, the reflectors are aligned very well and the S/N is greatly improved. We have also applied multifocusing imaging over an irregular topography to a real data example. The elevation of the data acquisition area varies considerably. Applying multifocusing imaging, a substantial improvement of the simulated section was achieved, compared with a conventional CMP stacked section.展开更多

The systems are the electron in the hydrogen atom and a free-electron particle moving in a one-dimensional potential box, respectively. It is demonstrated that in both systems the relativistic correction to the time interval can be expressed as a multiple of the same quantum of time. The size of the quantum is proportional to the ratio of the Planck’s constant and the rest energy of the electron particle.展开更多

In order to solve such problems as frequency shift and frequency band expansion, a time domain cor- rection method is presented in this paper. First, the discrete time vector for interpolation and the amplitude restoration formula is derived based on the moving relationship and the Morse acoustic theory, then the amplitude weights are corrected and the distortion signal is interpolated. Every point of the discrete signal is operated separately in time domain. Compared with the existing frequency domain methods, this method does not need to know the characteristic frequency beforehand and would not be influenced by the blending of the frequency band. Hence, this method can be employed to correct multiple frequency signals and it is also a simple and effective Doppler effect reduction method.展开更多
